三藏不空金剛 詔譯
夫修習成就毗盧遮那佛法,先應于閑凈處以瞿摩夷塗地,香水散灑,燒種種名香,散種種時花,當於寂靜辦喧鬧,清凈澡浴著新凈衣結跏趺坐。或依類而坐:息災吉祥坐面向北;增益蓮花坐面向東;敬愛金剛坐面向西;降伏蹲踞坐以腳押腳面向南。
隨所愛樂依方而坐,即以香泥塗手,于頂上合掌禮敬一切諸佛。然于下方從風輪起想「嚩」字,以二點嚴飾,如金形放熾盛光,威猛赫奕;金剛火焰壞破大地,上衝流出,則想此金剛火焰焚燒自身,乃至灰謝隨四種法色;想灰成曼拏羅,即于曼荼羅中想一蓮花;于蓮花中想「嚩」字轉成金剛形;想己身為金剛所成。
即結三昧耶印:二手作三普吒掌,豎二大指加持於五處。真言曰:
「那謨 三曼多沒馱喃 阿三迷 怛哩(二合)三迷 三摩曳 莎縛(二合)訶(引)」
次結法界印:二手作拳,二大指在掌中豎二頭指;想啰字于頂上,思惟真實義,一切法塵不可得。真言曰:
「那謨 三曼多沒馱喃 達摩馱都 娑嚩婆嚩俱𤙖」

若要修習成就毗盧遮那佛(Vairocana,光明遍照佛)的法門,首先應當在清凈之處用牛糞(瞿摩夷)塗抹地面,灑上香水,焚燒各種名貴的香,散佈各種時令鮮花。應當在寂靜處遠離喧鬧,清凈地沐浴,穿上新的乾淨衣服,結跏趺坐。或者根據所修法門的類別而坐:息災法修吉祥坐,面向北方;增益法修蓮花坐,面向東方;敬愛法脩金剛坐,面向西方;降伏法修蹲踞坐,用腳壓著腳,面向南方。

【English Translation】 English version 《Vairocana Five-Syllable Mantra Practice Ritual》
Translated by Tripiṭaka Amoghavajra under Imperial Decree
To practice and attain accomplishment in the Dharma of Vairocana Buddha (Vairocana, the Buddha of Universal Illumination), one should first prepare a secluded and clean place by smearing the ground with cow dung (Gomaya), sprinkling fragrant water, burning various precious incenses, and scattering seasonal flowers. One should stay in a quiet place away from noise, bathe cleanly, wear new and clean clothes, and sit in the lotus position (vajra posture). Or sit according to the category of the Dharma being practiced: for pacifying disasters, sit in the auspicious posture facing north; for increasing benefits, sit in the lotus posture facing east; for love and respect, sit in the vajra posture facing west; for subduing, sit in the squatting posture with feet pressing against each other, facing south.
Choose a direction to sit according to one's preference, then smear the hands with fragrant mud, and with palms together above the head, pay homage to all Buddhas. Next, starting from the wind wheel below, visualize the syllable 'va' (嚩), adorned with two dots, appearing in the shape of a vajra, emitting intense light, powerful and vigorous. The vajra flame destroys and breaks the earth, surging upwards, then visualize this vajra flame burning oneself, until turning into ashes, dissipating with the four Dharma colors; visualize the ashes forming a mandala (mandala, sacred enclosure), then within the mandala, visualize a lotus flower; within the lotus flower, visualize the syllable 'va' transforming into the shape of a vajra; visualize oneself becoming accomplished by the vajra.
Next, form the Samaya Mudra (samaya mudra): make the hands into a Samputa palm (palms slightly concave), raise the two thumbs, and bless the five places of the body. The mantra is:
'Namo (namo, Homage) Samanta Buddhanam (samanta buddhanam, Universal Buddhas) Asame (asame, Unequaled) Traya (traya, Three) Same (same, Equal) Samaye (samaye, Vow) Svaha (svaha, Accomplishment)'
Next, form the Dharmadhatu Mudra: make fists with both hands, place the two thumbs inside the palms, and raise the two index fingers; visualize the syllable 'ra' (啰) above the head, contemplate the true meaning, that all Dharma dust is unattainable. The mantra is:

The mantra says: 'Namo Samanta Vajranam Vajra (引) Atma Kuhum' Next, form the Armor Mudra: both hands in Samputa palms (Samputa palms: palms slightly hollow, joined together), bend both index fingers and press them against the back of the middle fingers' joints, both thumbs upright and joined at five points of the palm mudra. The mantra says: 'Namo Samanta Vajranam Vajrakavacha Hum' Then, visualize a great lotus king in front of yourself, and in the lotus, visualize the golden syllable 'Kha', which transforms into Bhagavan Mahavira (the Great Hero), abiding in Samadhi (meditative absorption), form the sword mudra. 「那謨 三曼多沒馱喃 尾秫馱巘涂納婆吠 娑嚩(二合)訶(引)」
次結花印:二手內相叉,仰掌頭指著,二大指安頭指下節。真言曰:
「那謨 三曼多沒馱喃 摩訶每怛哩耶(二合) 毗愈(二合)娜蘗底 娑嚩(二合)訶(引)」

Again, touch the incense and flowers with the knife mudra, praying for purity without defilement, to accomplish blessings, and then place it in the sheath.
Next, form the Five-Syllable Sword Mudra of Vairocana (the universal Buddha): join both hands in prayer, bend the two index fingers, with the tips touching like a sword. The mantra says:
『Namo Samanta Buddhanam Avira Hum Kham』
Next, form the Anointing Incense Mudra: with the right palm facing outward, grasp the right wrist with the left hand, forming a ring. The mantra says:
『Namo Samanta Buddhanam Vishuddha Gandha Utbhave Svaha』
Next, form the Flower Mudra: cross the hands inward, with palms facing upward, touch the index fingers, and place the two thumbs on the lower joints of the index fingers. The mantra says:
『Namo Samanta Buddhanam Maha Maitriye Vibhuti Utpadaya Svaha』
Next, form the Burning Incense Mudra: join the backs of the middle, ring, and little fingers of both hands, raise the index fingers straight and inclined to meet each other, and place the thumbs on the lower joints of the index fingers. The mantra says:
『Namo Samanta Buddhanam Dharma Dhatu Utpadaya Svaha』
Next, form the Food and Drink Mantra Mudra: the wisdom and meditation hands should be joined, with the five wheels (fingers) crossing each other. This is the mudra for holding all things, the universal offering mudra.

Next, form the Lamp Mudra: make a fist with the right hand, raise the middle finger straight, bend the index finger, and pinch it with the thumb, with the back of the finger attached to the middle finger. The mantra says:
『Namo Samanta Buddhanam Tathagata Rici Sapharana Vabhasana Gagana Uddharaye Svaha』

由此真言印、香花等雲海供養,如實無,即用五字從下體布至頂,地、水、火、風、空,即想自身如金色毗盧遮那佛,遍光明頭冠瓔珞身著紗縠衣。即結劍印:安於當心住三摩地,二手持珠,合於掌中誦真言七遍,加持安於頂上。真言曰:
「唵 吠盧者那 摩羅 娑嚩(二合)訶(引)」
然後二手當心,持珠唸誦本尊言遍數。畢已安珠于掌中,頂上合掌迴向發願:「以此功德,當愿眾生速證毗盧遮那佛!」放念珠已,然後結定印,端身正坐于頂中想白色「闇」字;於二目瞳人上想「覽」字,即微屈頭注心于胸臆間想圓滿月輪,于月輪上佈列五字;想「阿」字在中央如黃金色,餘四字右旋而安。

然後雙手放在心口,持念珠唸誦本尊真言若干遍。完畢后將念珠放在掌中,在頭頂上合掌迴向發願:『以此功德,愿眾生迅速證得毗盧遮那佛(Vairocana Buddha)的果位!』 放下念珠后,然後結定印,端身正坐在頭頂中觀想白色『闇(am)』字;在兩眼瞳孔上觀想『覽(ram)』字,就稍微低頭,專注心念在胸口間觀想圓滿的月輪,在月輪上排列五字;觀想『阿(a)』字在中央,如黃金色,其餘四字右旋排列。
五字真實義是:
『阿(a)』字代表一切法本來不生;『尾(vi)』字思義代表一切法言語不可得;『啰(ra)』字代表一切法遠離塵垢;『訶(ha)』字代表一切法因不可得。
【English Translation】 English version: Food and lamps are offered according to the four Dharma colors, and through the five offering mudras, a cloud-sea offering of universal incense and flowers is made to the holy assembly.
Next, form the Completion Mudra: bring both hands together in a hollow-hearted gesture and place them on the crown of the head. The mantra is:
'Namo Samanta-Buddhanam Ah Vi Samaye Sphara Him Gagana Gandha Madhura-Dhvajakasha Samataya Svaha Tathagata Pariksha Mandala Mama Punya Malina Tathagata Adhistha Namo 'stu te Svaha (2x) Ha (extended)'
Through this mantra, mudra, and cloud-sea offering of incense and flowers, which are truly without falsehood, use the five syllables from ** to the crown of the head—earth, water, fire, wind, and space. Visualize yourself as the golden Vairocana Buddha, radiant with light, wearing a jeweled crown and necklaces, and adorned in a light silk garment. Then, form the sword mudra: place it at the heart center, abide in samadhi, hold prayer beads in both hands, join them in the palms, recite the mantra seven times, empower them, and place them on the crown of the head. The mantra is:
'Om Vairocana Mala Svaha (2x) Ha (extended)'
Then, bring both hands to the heart center, hold the prayer beads, and recite the mantra of the principal deity a number of times. After finishing, place the prayer beads in the palms, join the palms at the crown of the head, and dedicate the merit, making the vow: 'May all beings quickly attain the state of Vairocana Buddha through this merit!' After releasing the prayer beads, form the meditation mudra, sit upright, and visualize the white syllable 'Am' at the crown of the head; visualize the syllable 'Ram' on the pupils of both eyes. Then, slightly lower the head and focus the mind on the chest area, visualizing a complete moon disc. On the moon disc, arrange the five syllables; visualize the syllable 'A' in the center, like golden color, and arrange the remaining four syllables clockwise.
The true meaning of the five syllables is:
The syllable 'A' represents that all dharmas are originally unborn; the syllable 'Vi' signifies that the meaning of all dharmas is beyond verbal expression; the syllable 'Ra' represents that all dharmas are free from defilement; the syllable 'Ha' represents that the cause of all dharmas is unobtainable.
可得故;「佉」字一切如虛空不可得故。名為心念誦。
即結劍印,誦七遍頂上散;復結五供養印,獻閼伽讚歎;結不動劍印,左旋解界;結三昧印安於頂上誦三遍,想奉送聖眾。
禮佛而起,隨意經行,讀誦大乘方廣經典,以福回施一切眾生,愿速圓滿心所求,世間、出世間悉地成就也。

延享改元,夏,用亡弟僧尊隆遺財而刻是軌,以遂其宿志,伏祈法乳永潤法界云 藤原常香謹志。
時延享元甲子秋八月,念三豐山無等仇挍焉。
