如是我聞。一時世尊在忉利天中波利質多羅樹下。爾時帝釋天主。及與一切天人軍眾。前後圍繞來詣佛所。各各至誠合掌歸依。瞻仰如來次第而住。

爾時帝釋天主前白佛言。世尊我有陀羅尼名千轉大明。是陀羅尼于諸世間。為大饒益。所有一切天龍夜叉餓鬼鳩槃茶等乃至人非人等。聞此陀羅尼者。悉皆降伏于諸眾生。所有一切不饒益事悉皆除殄。惟愿世尊大慈大悲許我宣說。佛言天主善哉善哉。如汝所說彼大千轉大明陀羅尼。能於世間作大饒益。汝欲說者當隨汝意。爾時帝釋天主。即說千轉大明陀羅尼曰。

爾時，帝釋天主前白佛言：『世尊，我有陀羅尼名千轉大明。是陀羅尼于諸世間，為大饒益。所有一切天龍（Naga，護法神）夜叉（Yaksa，守護神）餓鬼（Preta，一種鬼）鳩槃茶（Kumbhanda，一種惡鬼）等乃至人非人等，聞此陀羅尼者，悉皆降伏。于諸眾生，所有一切不饒益事悉皆除殄。惟愿世尊大慈大悲，許我宣說。』佛言：『天主，善哉善哉。如汝所說，彼大千轉大明陀羅尼，能於世間作大饒益。汝欲說者，當隨汝意。』爾時，帝釋天主即說千轉大明陀羅尼曰：

一切部多（Bhuta，鬼）聞此所說，驚怖迷悶狂惑退散。寶賢夜叉主及輪成就等現眾色像，使諸部多諸鬼神等及彼遊方空行起尸瘧病諸惡鬼等，乃至一切行毒根本邪法，惱害眾生不饒益事，悉皆解脫。

【English Translation】 English version

《The Thousand Transformations Great Bright Dharani Sutra》

Translated by Tripiṭaka Dharma Master Shi Hu, Minister of the Honglu Temple, and Grand Master of the Imperial Secretariat, under imperial decree.

Thus have I heard. At one time, the World-Honored One was in the Trayastrimsa Heaven (忉利天), under the Parijatra tree (波利質多羅樹). At that time, Sakra, Lord of the Devas (帝釋天主), together with all the Devas and their armies, surrounded and approached the Buddha. Each of them sincerely joined their palms in reverence, gazed upon the Tathagata, and stood in order.

Then, Sakra, Lord of the Devas, stepped forward and said to the Buddha, 'World-Honored One, I have a Dharani called the Thousand Transformations Great Bright Dharani. This Dharani brings great benefit to all beings in the world. All the Nagas (天龍), Yakshas (夜叉), Pretas (餓鬼), Kumbhandas (鳩槃茶), and even humans and non-humans who hear this Dharani will be subdued. All unfavorable events for all beings will be eliminated. I beseech the World-Honored One, with great compassion, to allow me to proclaim it.' The Buddha said, 'Lord of the Devas, excellent, excellent. As you say, this Great Thousand Transformations Great Bright Dharani can bring great benefit to the world. If you wish to speak it, you may do so according to your will.' Then, Sakra, Lord of the Devas, recited the Thousand Transformations Great Bright Dharani:

'Tad-ya-tha (怛你也(二合)他(引一)) namo hitaya bhagavate (曩呬怛寫婆帝(引二)婆誐嚩睹(引三)) samyak te nirdesa (三野體難野過睹(引四))'

All Bhutas (部多) who hear these words will be terrified, confused, and scattered. The Yaksha chief Bao Xian (寶賢) and the wheel of accomplishment will manifest various forms, causing all Bhutas, ghosts, and spirits, as well as wandering, sky-walking, corpse-raising, malarial, and all evil ghosts, and even all poisonous roots and evil practices that harm beings and cause unfavorable events, to be liberated.

世尊我此千轉大明。譬如轉輪聖王。有摩尼寶名曰如意。凡諸所欲自然現前。我此千轉大明亦復如是。若有得者凡諸苦惱悉皆解脫。世尊末世之時眾生薄福。於三寶尊不知歸依。恣身口心常造過惡。是故世間諸惡鬼神伺得其便。隱自形質假託變現。于晝夜中惱害眾生。使諸眾生得種種苦惱。世尊若有眾生。遇斯惡鬼種種惱亂苦惱之時。乃至世間一切不可意時。當於清凈之地取土七把。每一把讀誦此大明加持七遍。和作七丸系
