聞如是:
一時,佛在羅閱祇耆阇崛山中,與千二百五十比丘俱,菩薩千人皆彌勒等。
佛告賢者舍利弗及諸比丘:「皆一心聽!」
佛告賢者舍利弗:「東方去是一恒沙,有佛名安隱囑累滿具足王如來、至真、無所著、最正覺,今現在說法,其世界名曰滿所愿聚。
「去是二恒沙,有佛名紺琉璃具足王如來、無所著、最正覺,今現在說法,其世界名曰慈哀光明。
「去是三恒沙,有佛名勸助眾善具足王如來、無所著、最正覺,今現在說法,其世界名曰歡喜快樂。
「去是四恒沙,有佛名曰無憂德具足王如來、無所著、最正覺,今現在說法,其世界名曰一切樂入。
「去是五恒沙,有佛名藥師具足王如來、無所著、最正覺,今現在說法,其世界名曰滿一切珍寶法。
「去是六恒沙,有佛名曰蓮華具足王如來、無所著、最正覺,今現在說法,其世界名曰滿香名聞。
「去是七恒沙,有佛名算擇合會具足王如來、無所著、最正覺,今現在說法,其世界名曰一切解說音聲遠聞。

【English Translation】 English version Thus have I heard: At one time, the Buddha was dwelling on Mount Gṛdhrakūṭa (Vulture Peak) in Rājagṛha (Royal Palace City), together with twelve hundred and fifty bhikṣus (Buddhist monks), and a thousand bodhisattvas (enlightenment beings), all of whom were like Maitreya (the future Buddha). The Buddha said to the venerable Śāriputra (one of the Buddha's chief disciples, known for his wisdom) and all the bhikṣus, 『Listen attentively with one-pointed minds!』 The Buddha said to the venerable Śāriputra, 『To the east, beyond a distance of one Ganges river of sands (an immeasurable quantity), there is a Buddha named Anivartana-samādhi-pūrṇa-rāja-tathāgata (King Tathāgata of Complete Non-Regression Samadhi), a Tathāgata (one of the titles of a Buddha), an Arhat (worthy one), an Anāsrava (free from outflows), a Samyak-saṃbuddha (perfectly enlightened one), who is now teaching the Dharma. His world is called Manoratha-pūraṇa-vyūha (Abode of Fulfilling Wishes).』 『Beyond that, at a distance of two Ganges rivers of sands, there is a Buddha named Nīla-vaiḍūrya-pūrṇa-rāja-tathāgata (King Tathāgata of Complete Blue Lapis Lazuli), an Anāsrava, a Samyak-saṃbuddha, who is now teaching the Dharma. His world is called Maitrī-prabhā (Light of Loving-Kindness).』 『Beyond that, at a distance of three Ganges rivers of sands, there is a Buddha named Kuśala-saṃbhāra-pūrṇa-rāja-tathāgata (King Tathāgata of Complete Accumulation of Merits), an Anāsrava, a Samyak-saṃbuddha, who is now teaching the Dharma. His world is called Pramudita-sukha (Joyful Bliss).』 『Beyond that, at a distance of four Ganges rivers of sands, there is a Buddha named Aśoka-guṇa-pūrṇa-rāja-tathāgata (King Tathāgata of Complete Sorrowless Virtue), an Anāsrava, a Samyak-saṃbuddha, who is now teaching the Dharma. His world is called Sarva-sukha-praviṣṭa (Entrance to All Bliss).』 『Beyond that, at a distance of five Ganges rivers of sands, there is a Buddha named Bhaiṣajya-rāja-pūrṇa-rāja-tathāgata (King Tathāgata of Complete Medicine King), an Anāsrava, a Samyak-saṃbuddha, who is now teaching the Dharma. His world is called Sarva-ratna-dharma-pūraṇa (Abode of Fulfilling All Precious Dharmas).』 『Beyond that, at a distance of six Ganges rivers of sands, there is a Buddha named Padma-pūrṇa-rāja-tathāgata (King Tathāgata of Complete Lotus), an Anāsrava, a Samyak-saṃbuddha, who is now teaching the Dharma. His world is called Sugandha-kīrti-pūraṇa (Abode of Fulfilling Fragrant Fame).』 『Beyond that, at a distance of seven Ganges rivers of sands, there is a Buddha named Saṃkhyā-samāgama-pūrṇa-rāja-tathāgata (King Tathāgata of Complete Calculation and Gathering), an Anāsrava, a Samyak-saṃbuddha, who is now teaching the Dharma. His world is called Sarva-nirukti-ghoṣa-dūra-śruta (Abode Where All Explanatory Sounds Are Heard Far Away).』
「去是八恒沙,有佛名解散一切縛具足王如來、無所著、最正覺,今現在說法,其世界名曰一切解脫。」
佛告賢者舍利弗:「此諸佛如來、無所著、過四道不受、最正覺,其國土清凈,無五濁、無愛慾、無意垢。若有善男子、善女人,聞此八佛及國土名,受持奉行諷誦,廣為他人解說其義者,終不愚癡,口之所言,無有失誤,相好具足,無所缺減,無央數年不為乏少。
「是人終不墮太山地獄、餓鬼、畜生中也,是人終不望取羅漢、辟支佛道而般泥洹,必當逮得無上平等之道,常遇陀鄰尼,常行菩薩道,得功德無量。
「第一四天王常擁護之,不為縣官所拘錄,不為盜賊所中傷,不為天龍、鬼神所觸嬈,閱叉鬼神、蠱道鬼神、若人、若非人,皆不能害殺得其便也,除其宿命不請。
「若有疾病、水火、烏鳴、惡夢、諸魔所嬈,恐怖衣毛豎時,常當讀是八吉祥神咒經咒之,即得除愈。」
是時,佛說偈言:
「若有持是經, 八佛國土名, 不墮三惡處, 疾得無上道。 自覺發道意, 見佛即開解, 中外常歡喜, 供養心恭敬。 億劫阿僧祇, 行惡悉消除, 持是八吉祥, 速得明解教。 供事是經者, 千葉華中生, 珍寶為其出,

【English Translation】 English version 'Going past eight Ganges sands (an expression for an extremely large number) of worlds, there were Buddhas named Dissolving All Bonds King Tathagata (the Tathagata who can liberate all bonds and possesses all merits), the Unattached One, the Most Righteously Enlightened One, who are now teaching the Dharma, and their worlds are named All Liberation.' The Buddha told the worthy Shariputra: 'These Buddhas, the Tathagatas, the Unattached Ones, who have transcended the four realms (referring to the desire realm, form realm, formless realm, and neither perception nor non-perception realm), are not subject to rebirth, and are the Most Righteously Enlightened Ones, their lands are pure, without the five turbidities (referring to the turbidity of the kalpa, views, afflictions, beings, and life), without desires, and without mental defilements. If there are good men or good women who hear the names of these eight Buddhas and their lands, accept, uphold, recite, and widely explain their meanings to others, they will ultimately not be foolish, their words will not be mistaken, their appearances will be beautiful, without any deficiencies, and they will not lack anything for countless years.' 'These people will ultimately not fall into the Tai Mountain hell, the realm of hungry ghosts, or the animal realm. These people will ultimately not seek to attain the path of Arhats or Pratyekabuddhas and enter Nirvana, but will surely attain the unsurpassed path of equality, will often encounter Dharanis (mantras that encapsulate and retain all Dharma teachings), will often practice the Bodhisattva path, and will obtain immeasurable merits.' 'The first Four Heavenly Kings (referring to the Four Great Heavenly Kings) will always protect them, they will not be arrested by officials, they will not be harmed by thieves, they will not be disturbed by dragons, gods, or ghosts. Yaksha ghosts (referring to night demons), Gu-poison ghosts, whether human or non-human, will not be able to harm them, except for the karmic consequences of their past lives.' 'If they encounter illness, fire or water disasters, hear the cries of crows, have nightmares, or are disturbed by various demons, and feel fear with their hair standing on end, they should always recite this Eight Auspicious Divine Mantra Sutra, and they will immediately be cured and healed.' At that time, the Buddha spoke in verses: 'If one upholds this sutra, The names of the eight Buddhas' lands, They will not fall into the three evil realms, And will quickly attain the unsurpassed path. Consciously generating the Bodhi mind, Upon seeing the Buddha, they will understand, Inside and out, they will always be joyful, And offer with respectful hearts. For countless eons, All evil deeds will be eliminated, Upholding these eight auspicious ones, They will quickly understand the Buddha's teachings. Those who serve this sutra, Will be born in a thousand-petaled lotus, And treasures will naturally appear,'
色像好無上。 人聞是尊經, 尊敬信樂者, 奉持諷誦讀, 清凈無放逸。 女人信是經, 敬慎無諛諂。 棄女為男子, 聰明常黠慧, 奉持八佛名, 出入賊不害。 刀兵水火毒, 諸邪不能幹, 愛樂奉是經, 諸魔不得便。 鬼神諸官屬, 無能嬈亂者, 飛行到諸剎, 所在大豐樂。 心意正無邪, 見佛大歡喜, 所生常遇佛, 等心奉事之。 一切眾惡除, 疾得泥洹道, 精進無懈怠, 去離諸緣著。 為人樸直儒, 奉持八佛名, 勇猛降眾魔, 其力如金剛。 端正相好具, 一切莫能當, 佈施無慳貪, 巨億萬家生。 盜賊及怨家, 自然皆消除, 疾病縣官事, 烏鳴諸惡夢, 持是八佛名, 咒之即除愈。 奉持是經者, 彌勒菩薩等, 第一四天王, 常共擁護之。 所愿皆可得, 踴躍大歡喜, 一心信樂者, 福德亦如是。」
爾時,諸菩薩:颰陀和菩薩、羅憐那竭菩薩、橋曰兜菩薩、那羅達菩薩、須深彌菩薩、摩訶須和薩和菩薩、因祗達菩薩、和輪調菩薩,是八人求道已來無央數劫,於今未取佛,愿言:「使十方天下、人民皆得佛道。若有急疾,皆當呼我

當時,諸位菩薩:颰陀和菩薩(賢護菩薩)、羅憐那竭菩薩(離垢藏菩薩)、橋曰兜菩薩(寶積菩薩)、那羅達菩薩(無著菩薩)、須深彌菩薩(善思惟菩薩)、摩訶須和薩和菩薩(大善住菩薩)、因祗達菩薩(天授菩薩)、和輪調菩薩(調伏菩薩),這八位菩薩自求道以來,經歷了無數劫,至今尚未成佛,他們發願說:『愿使十方世界的所有人民都能證得佛道。如果有人身患急病,都應當呼喚我們的名字。』
【English Translation】 English version The Buddha's form is supremely excellent. People who hear this honored scripture, if they respect, believe, and rejoice in it, Practice, uphold, recite, and study it, remaining pure and without negligence. If a woman believes in this scripture, maintaining reverence and caution without flattery, She can abandon her female form and transform into a man, becoming intelligent and always wise. Upholding the names of the Eight Buddhas, they will not be harmed by thieves when going out or coming in. Weapons, fire, poison, and all evils cannot harm them, Loving and practicing this scripture, all demons cannot take advantage. Ghosts, spirits, and their retinues cannot disturb them, They can fly to various Buddha lands, and wherever they go, there is great joy and abundance. With a pure mind and no evil thoughts, they will be very happy to see the Buddha, Wherever they are born, they will always encounter the Buddha, serving them with an equal mind. All evils will be eliminated, and they will quickly attain the path of Nirvana, Practicing diligently without laziness, they will be free from all attachments. Being honest and upright, upholding the names of the Eight Buddhas, They will bravely subdue all demons, their strength like that of Vajra (diamond). With a dignified appearance and possessing all good qualities, nothing can compare to them, Giving generously without stinginess or greed, they will be born into wealthy families. Thieves and enemies will naturally disappear, Diseases, lawsuits, the cawing of crows, and all bad dreams, By reciting the names of these Eight Buddhas, chanting will eliminate and heal them. Those who uphold this scripture, such as Maitreya Bodhisattva (the future Buddha), And the First Four Heavenly Kings (Buddhist guardian deities), will always protect them together. All their wishes can be fulfilled, and they will be overjoyed, Those who believe and rejoice wholeheartedly will receive such blessings.
At that time, the Bodhisattvas: Baddhāvāra Bodhisattva (Bhadrapala Bodhisattva), Roreṇakara Bodhisattva (Vimalagarbha Bodhisattva), Kyo-yutou Bodhisattva (Ratnakara Bodhisattva), Narada Bodhisattva (Anabhilagna Bodhisattva), Susimmi Bodhisattva (Subhuti Bodhisattva), Mahasuhasava Bodhisattva (Mahasudarsana Bodhisattva), Indradatta Bodhisattva (Devadatta Bodhisattva), and Haruncho Bodhisattva (Damana Bodhisattva), these eight Bodhisattvas, since seeking the path, have gone through countless kalpas and have not yet attained Buddhahood. They vowed: 'May all people in the ten directions of the world attain the path of Buddhahood. If anyone is suffering from a sudden illness, they should call upon our names.'
八人名字,即得解脫;壽命欲終時,我八人便當飛往迎逆之。」
諸菩薩彌勒等、第一四天王,皆白佛言:「吾當擁護持八吉祥神咒經者,與我併力令諸疾病皆得除愈。」
佛說經已,舍利弗、彌勒菩薩,及諸比丘、天龍、鬼神、阿須倫王,皆大歡喜樂聞。

【English Translation】 English version: 'Reciting the names of these eight individuals will lead to liberation; when one's life is about to end, we eight will fly to welcome them.' All the Bodhisattvas, such as Maitreya (the future Buddha), and the first Four Heavenly Kings (the Four Heavenly Kings, guardians of Buddhism), all said to the Buddha: 'We shall protect those who uphold the 'Eight Auspicious Divine Mantra Sutra', and together with them, we will strive to ensure that all illnesses are cured.' After the Buddha finished speaking this sutra, Sariputra (one of the Buddha's ten great disciples), Bodhisattva Maitreya, and all the bhikkhus (Buddhist monks), Nagas (Buddhist guardian deities), ghosts and spirits, Asura Kings (a type of deity), and others were all very joyful and delighted to hear it.
