如是我聞：
一時，薄伽梵在室羅筏悉底國逝多林給孤獨園。時大花嚴長者，從坐而起整理衣服，長跪合掌而白佛言：「大德世尊！一切有情施飲食者，當得何報？」
爾時，薄伽梵告長者言：「若施食者，得如來力。」
時大長者復白佛言：「世尊！其如來力，頗有譬喻而能宣說，令我聞不？」
佛告長者言：「有，善男子！不可以少因緣而能說之。」復告長者：「如十凡牛力等一犎牛力，十犎牛力等一犀牛力，十犀牛力等一凡象力，十凡象力等一設臘婆力(形如䴥面似犀牛身，有八腳四在背上、四踞地行，下足若困翻上憩，令上足下履地而行，力能負象)，十設臘婆力等一斗戰象力，十斗戰象力等一醉象力，十醉象力等一野象力，十野象力等一羯嚟耨迦象力，十羯嚟耨迦象力等一拘牟頭花象力，十拘牟頭花象力等一嗢缽羅花象力，十嗢缽羅花象力等一寧盧缽羅象力，十寧盧缽羅象力等一大香象力，十大香象力等一五色師子王力，十師子王力等一人中力士力，十力士力等一諾拘羅力，十諾拘羅力等一遏主那力，十

一時，薄伽梵（Bhagavan，世尊）在室羅筏悉底國（Śrāvastī，古印度城市）的逝多林給孤獨園（Jetavana-anāthapiṇḍada-ārāma，祇園精舍）。當時，大花嚴長者從座位上站起來，整理好衣服，長跪合掌，對佛說：「大德世尊！一切有情佈施飲食，會得到什麼果報？」
這時，薄伽梵告訴長者說：「如果佈施食物，就能得到如來的力量。」
當時，大長者又對佛說：「世尊！如來的力量，是否可以用譬喻來宣說，讓我能夠聽聞理解？」

【English Translation】 English version The Sutra of the Narayana Strength Asked by Elder Mahavyuha
Translated by Prajna and Liyan, Tripitaka masters from the Kingdom of Kipin
Thus have I heard:
At one time, the Bhagavan (Bhagavan, the World-Honored One) was in the Jeta Grove of the Anathapindada Garden (Jetavana-anāthapiṇḍada-ārāma, Jeta's Grove) in the country of Śrāvastī (Śrāvastī, an ancient Indian city). At that time, the Elder Mahavyuha rose from his seat, arranged his clothes, knelt down with his palms together, and said to the Buddha: 'Great Virtuous World-Honored One! What will be the reward for all sentient beings who give food and drink?'
At that time, the Bhagavan told the elder: 'If one gives food, one will obtain the strength of the Tathagata.'
At that time, the great elder again said to the Buddha: 'World-Honored One! Can the strength of the Tathagata be explained through metaphors, so that I can hear and understand?'
The Buddha told the elder: 'Yes, good man! It cannot be fully explained with few causes and conditions.' He further told the elder: 'For example, the strength of ten ordinary cows is equal to the strength of one zebu cow, the strength of ten zebu cows is equal to the strength of one rhinoceros, the strength of ten rhinoceroses is equal to the strength of one ordinary elephant, the strength of ten ordinary elephants is equal to the strength of one Śarabha (Śarabha, an animal shaped like a deer, with a face like a rhinoceros, and a body with eight legs, four on its back and four on the ground, the lower feet are tired and turn upwards to rest, allowing the upper feet to step on the ground to walk, with the strength to carry elephants), the strength of ten Śarabhas is equal to the strength of one fighting elephant, the strength of ten fighting elephants is equal to the strength of one drunken elephant, the strength of ten drunken elephants is equal to the strength of one wild elephant, the strength of ten wild elephants is equal to the strength of one Karīṇuka elephant, the strength of ten Karīṇuka elephants is equal to the strength of one Kumuda elephant, the strength of ten Kumuda elephants is equal to the strength of one Utpala elephant, the strength of ten Utpala elephants is equal to the strength of one Nīlotpala elephant, the strength of ten Nīlotpala elephants is equal to the strength of one great fragrant elephant, the strength of ten great fragrant elephants is equal to the strength of one five-colored lion king, the strength of ten lion kings is equal to the strength of a strong man among men, the strength of ten strong men is equal to the strength of one Nakula, the strength of ten Nakulas is equal to the strength of one Arjuna, ten'
遏主那力等一毗摩細那力，十毗摩細那力等一那羅延力，六百六十三那羅延力等佛世尊一毛孔力，八萬四千毛孔之中一一皆具如是那羅延力，八萬四千毛孔之力等薄伽梵一節之力。」
佛告長者：「以是當知，諸佛如來一一節中，皆具八萬四千六百六十三種那羅延力。」
佛說此經已，大花嚴長者聞佛所說，歡喜奉行。

【現代漢語翻譯】 現代漢語譯本： 遏主那力（Arjuna's strength）等同一毗摩細那力（Vimacita's strength），十毗摩細那力等同於一個那羅延力（Narayana's strength），六百六十三個那羅延力等同於佛世尊一個毛孔的力量，八萬四千個毛孔中的每一個都具有這樣的那羅延力，八萬四千個毛孔的力量等同於薄伽梵（Bhagavan，佛的尊稱）一節的力量。
佛告訴長者：『因此應當知道，諸佛如來每一節中，都具有八萬四千六百六十三種那羅延力。』
佛說完這部經后，大花嚴長者聽了佛所說，歡喜地接受並遵照奉行。
《大花嚴長者問佛那羅延力經》
【English Translation】 English version: 'The strength of an Arjuna (Arjuna's strength) is equal to one Vimacita's strength (Vimacita's strength), ten Vimacita's strengths are equal to one Narayana's strength (Narayana's strength), six hundred and sixty-three Narayana's strengths are equal to the strength of one pore of the Buddha Bhagavan (Buddha World Honored One), each of the eighty-four thousand pores possesses such Narayana's strength, and the strength of eighty-four thousand pores is equal to the strength of one joint of the Bhagavan (Bhagavan, an epithet for the Buddha).'
The Buddha told the elder: 'Therefore, you should know that in each joint of the Buddhas Tathagatas, there are eighty-four thousand six hundred and sixty-three kinds of Narayana's strength.'
After the Buddha finished speaking this sutra, the Elder Mahavyuha heard what the Buddha said, and joyfully accepted and practiced it.
