菩薩訶色慾法經

女色者,世間之枷鎖,凡夫戀著,不能自拔。女色者,世間之重患,凡夫困之,至死不免。女色者,世間之衰禍,凡夫遭之,無厄不至。行者既得舍之,若復顧念,是為從獄得出,還復思入;從狂得正,而復樂之;從病得差,復思得病。智者怒之,知其狂而顛蹶,死無日矣!

凡夫重色,甘為之仆,終身馳驟,為之辛苦。雖復鈇質寸斬,鋒鏑交至,甘心受之,不以為患。狂人樂狂,不是過也。行者若能棄之不顧,是則破枷脫鎖,惡狂厭病,離於衰禍,既安且吉,得出牢獄,永無患難。

女人之相,其言如蜜,而其心如毒,譬如:停淵澄鏡,而蛟龍居之;金山寶窟,而師子處之;當知此害不可近。室家不和,婦人之由;毀宗敗族,婦人之罪。實是陰賊,滅人慧明;亦是獵圍,鮮得出者。譬如高羅,群鳥落之,不能奮飛;又如密網,眾魚投之,刳腸俎肌;亦如暗坑,無目投之;如蛾赴火。是以智者知而遠之,不受其害;惡而穢之,不為此物之所惑也。

女色是世間的枷鎖,凡夫俗子貪戀執著,無法自拔。女色是世間的嚴重禍患,凡夫俗子被它困擾,到死都無法擺脫。女色是世間的衰敗災禍,凡夫俗子遭遇它,沒有災難不會降臨。修行人既然已經捨棄了女色,如果又再顧念它,這就好比從監獄裡逃脫出來,又想著回去;從精神錯亂恢復正常,又再喜歡錯亂的狀態;從疾病中痊癒,又想著得病。有智慧的人會憎恨它,知道這是瘋狂而會使人顛倒,離死亡不遠了!

凡夫俗子看重女色,甘願做女色的奴僕,終身奔波勞碌,為女色而辛苦。即使被刀斧砍殺,被刀箭交相射擊,也甘心承受,不認為是禍患。瘋狂的人以瘋狂為樂,這也不算過分。修行人如果能夠拋棄女色而不顧,這就是打破枷鎖,擺脫束縛,厭惡瘋狂,遠離疾病,脫離衰敗的災禍,既安定又吉祥,逃出牢獄,永遠沒有患難。

女人的外表,她的言語像蜂蜜一樣甜美,而她的內心卻像毒藥一樣狠毒,譬如:平靜的深淵清澈如鏡,卻有蛟龍居住其中;金山寶藏的洞穴,卻有獅子在那裡。應當知道這種禍害不可以接近。家庭不和睦,是由於婦女的原因;毀壞宗族,敗壞家業,是婦女的罪過。女色實在是暗中害人的盜賊,能滅絕人的智慧光明;也像是獵人的陷阱,很少有人能逃脫。譬如高張的羅網,眾鳥落入其中,不能奮力飛翔;又像細密的漁網,眾魚投入其中,被剖腹割肉;也像黑暗的陷坑,沒有眼睛的人投入其中;就像飛蛾撲火一樣自取滅亡。因此有智慧的人知道女色的危害而遠離它,不遭受它的禍害;厭惡而鄙視它,不被這種事物所迷惑。

【English Translation】 English version Bodhisattva's Reproach of ** Law Sutra

Womanly beauty is the world's shackle; ordinary people are attached to it and cannot extricate themselves. Womanly beauty is the world's grave affliction; ordinary people are troubled by it and cannot escape it until death. Womanly beauty is the world's declining disaster; ordinary people encounter it, and there is no calamity that will not befall them. Once a practitioner has abandoned it, if they then think of it again, it is like escaping from prison and then thinking of returning; recovering from madness and then enjoying it again; recovering from illness and then thinking of getting sick again. The wise despise it, knowing that it is madness that will cause them to stumble and fall, and death is not far off!

Ordinary people value womanly beauty, willingly becoming its servants, rushing about busily all their lives, suffering for it. Even if they are chopped to pieces by axes, or pierced by a rain of arrows, they willingly endure it, not considering it a calamity. Madmen enjoy their madness, and this is not too much to expect. If a practitioner can abandon it without looking back, then they will break their shackles, escape their bonds, detest madness, abhor illness, and be free from the disaster of decline, finding peace and good fortune, escaping from prison, and never having trouble again.

A woman's appearance, her words are as sweet as honey, but her heart is as poisonous as venom, like a still, deep pool that is clear as a mirror, but is inhabited by dragons (Naga); a golden mountain treasure cave, but is inhabited by lions. One should know that this harm cannot be approached. Disharmony in the family is due to women; ruining the clan and destroying the family fortune is the sin of women. It is truly a hidden thief, extinguishing people's wisdom and light; it is also like a hunter's trap, from which few can escape. It is like a high net, into which flocks of birds fall, unable to fly away; it is also like a dense net, into which many fish throw themselves, to be gutted and filleted; it is also like a dark pit, into which the blind throw themselves; like moths flying into a flame. Therefore, the wise know it and stay far away from it, not suffering its harm; they hate and despise it, not being deceived by this thing.
