I take refuge in the Buddhas of the three times, those who have attained perfect enlightenment, Who constantly act for the benefit of others, accumulating all kinds of merits. Whether through body, speech, or mind, the good or bad karma one creates, The resulting consequences will surely be exact, not caused by any other creator. The most supreme guide, manifesting compassion through personal realization, Universally proclaims to all sentient beings the principle of receiving retribution according to one's karma. This corresponding right principle, upon hearing, should be understood and accepted, All actions originate from one's own mind, thus serving as the cause for wandering in the six realms. Due to the fear of the three poisons (greed, hatred, and delusion), selling the lives of various beings, Fattening them before slaughtering, one will fall into the Saṃjīva (等活地獄) hell (the Hell of Revival); There, one's lifespan extends to hundreds of thousands of years, enduring beatings with knives and clubs, Dying and then being reborn again, suffering such painful retribution. Harboring harmful intentions towards parents, relatives, and family, Speaking false words to deceive and defraud, one will fall into the Kālasūtra (黑線地獄) hell (the Hell of Black Lines); Black lines are drawn on the body, like cutting wood in the world, Sawn apart with saws, flames blazing intensely, enduring such painful retribution. Burning mountains, rivers, forests, and fields with fire, Burning and harming various sentient beings, one will fall into the Saṃghāta (炎熱獄) hell (the Hell of Crushing); Flames spread and burn everywhere, the sounds of painful cries never ceasing, Both eyes lose their sight, enduring such painful retribution. Claiming the Dharma is non-Dharma, slandering without basis, Causing others to feel tormented, one will fall into the Raurava (極炎熱獄) hell (the Hell of Screaming); These sinful beings are pressed by great fire, Burning without pause, enduring such painful retribution. If one steals the property of the Buddha (Buddha), Dharma (Dharma), Sangha (Sangha), and those who are poor and destitute, One will fall into the Maharaurava hell (Maharaurava hell, a hell more painful than the Raurava hell); Being burned by flames, enduring extremely intense suffering, Emitting great and fierce evil sounds, enduring such painful retribution. If one violates another's wife, after death, one will fall into the iron-thorn hell, Where the iron thorns are sixteen fingers long, cutting flesh and piercing bones; There is also a giant iron woman, with teeth as terrifying as flames, Devouring sinners from head to heel, enduring such painful retribution. If one plots to harm others, one will fall into the sword-leaf forest hell, Where there are rabid dogs and vultures, running and chasing, competing to devour the bodies of sinners. If one robs others of their wealth, one will endure extreme pain, Constantly swallowing hot iron balls, and being poured with boiling copper liquid. If one harms sentient beings innocently, one will fall into the iron-eagle hell, Being struck by the sharp claws of iron eagles, enduring pain and suffering for a long time. 地獄趣竟。
若人不樂施, 復盜眾飲食, 墮大癭鬼中, 常啖諸糞穢。 若障人佈施, 於己物生吝, 墮鍼口鬼中, 腹大常飢渴。 無嗣慳財物, 不捨不受用, 墮匱乏鬼中, 得他享殘棄。 希望他施惠, 自少施生悔, 墮下劣鬼中, 常食于涎吐。 樂聞他過失, 加惡語宣傳, 墮焰口鬼中, 長受諸苦惱。 好起諸斗諍, 無少慈愍心, 墮疲極鬼中, 食蜎蠕蟲類。 恐脅取他財, 得已或少施, 墮極醜鬼中

【English Translation】 English version Those who are evil will fall into the Iron Mill Hell (Tie Mo Hell), where they will wail in misery without any salvation. If someone is uncharitable, they will suffer various forms of punishment, being crushed between two mountains, subjected to oppression and cutting. If someone speaks against the Dharma (Buddhist teachings) and destroys bridges, they will walk on sharp blades, being driven back and forth. If someone harms mosquitoes and lice with their fingernails, they will fall between two Ram-Headed Mountains (E Tou Mountain), where the mountains collide, causing death and rebirth in a cycle of suffering. If someone relies on the path of liberation but does not uphold the precepts, they will fall into the Ember Pit Hell (Tang Wei Hell), where their limbs will be completely burned away. If someone falsely displays dignified behavior and seeks a livelihood through improper means, they will fall into the Corpse Filth Hell (Shi Fen Hell), where they will be eaten by maggots. If someone sees insects in grains and grinds them indiscriminately, they will fall into the Iron Mortar Hell (Tie Dui Hell), where they will be constantly pounded. If someone rejoices in the suffering of others, is deceitful and full of doubts, and constantly harbors resentment and malice, they will become a Yama's Messenger (Yan Mo Luo Zu), a jailer of King Yama. The above is just a brief explanation of the seeds of various painful consequences. A pure body, speech, and mind will ultimately remain far away from these evil results.
The retribution of the hell realm concludes.
If someone dislikes giving and steals food from the community, they will fall into the Great Goiter Ghost (Da Ying Ghost) realm, constantly eating various kinds of filth and excrement. If someone obstructs others from giving and is stingy with their own possessions, they will fall into the Needle-Mouth Ghost (Zhen Kou Ghost) realm, with a large belly but constantly feeling hungry and thirsty. If someone has no descendants but is miserly with their wealth, neither giving it away nor using it themselves, they will fall into the Destitute Ghost (Kui Fa Ghost) realm, only able to obtain the leftovers discarded by others. If someone hopes for others to give them favors but regrets giving even a little themselves, they will fall into the Inferior Ghost (Xia Lie Ghost) realm, constantly eating the saliva that others spit out. If someone enjoys hearing about the faults of others and spreads them with malicious words, they will fall into the Flame-Mouth Ghost (Yan Kou Ghost) realm, enduring various kinds of suffering and affliction for a long time. If someone enjoys stirring up disputes and has no compassion or pity, they will fall into the Exhausted Ghost (Pi Ji Ghost) realm, feeding on various kinds of small insects. If someone obtains wealth from others through intimidation and threats, and even if they give some away, it is only a small portion, they will fall into the realm of extremely ugly ghosts.

餓鬼趣竟。
人天三惡趣, 唯自能救拔, 奔馳六趣中, 如夢境和合。 睹自他眷屬, 傷嘆豈長久, 如彼俳優人, 數數易形色。 受地獄苦畢, 或生於天中, 福盡復沉淪, 墮彼畜生趣。 受種種形色, 后得生人間, 貧苦極艱辛, 譬車輪旋轉。
畜生趣竟。
彼人趣壽命, 份量本長遠, 多造殺生因, 由此而減少。 縈纏諸病苦, 癩瘦時疫等, 為鬼魅所著, 及王法捶打。 若人于財利, 勞役廣希求, 無少惠施心, 後作守財鬼。 若人盜他財, 用已或能施, 后墮鬼趣中

【English Translation】 English version He fearfully offered meager sacrifices. If a person indulges in revelry, extensively killing various living beings, consuming them himself and giving them to others, he will be reborn as a Rakshasa (flesh-eating demon). If someone smells or secretly takes the offered incense and flowers, due to arising a small amount of greed, he will be reborn as a Gandharva (a spirit that feeds on scent). If people mutually revere and flatter each other, seeking something from others, and become angry when their desires are not met, coveting their wealth, they will be reborn as fierce and evil demons. If someone enjoys participating in others' marriages, delighting in matchmaking, but later harbors malicious intentions causing separation, he will be reborn as a Bhuta (a type of ghost). If someone enjoys drinking alcohol, drinking excessively and becoming intoxicated, or encourages others to drink, he will be reborn as a Yaksha (a type of spirit). If someone is rebellious towards parents and teachers, he will be reborn in the Yaksha palace, courageous and strong but with a violent temperament. Those who are miserly and greedy will often be reborn in the realm of hungry ghosts, experiencing suffering or happiness according to their own karma. Therefore, do not create evil karma. The realm of hungry ghosts is concluded. The realms of humans, gods, and the three evil realms, only oneself can liberate oneself. Wandering in the six realms is like a dreamlike illusion. Seeing one's own and others' relatives, how long can sorrow and lamentation last? Like actors, constantly changing their forms and appearances. After enduring the suffering of hell, one may be born in the heavens, but when the blessings are exhausted, one will fall again, descending into the animal realm. Undergoing various forms and appearances, one may later be born as a human, but life is impoverished and difficult, like a turning wheel. The animal realm is concluded. The lifespan of humans was originally long, but because most people create the evil karma of killing, their lifespans are shortened. They are entangled by various diseases, such as leprosy, emaciation, and epidemics, possessed by ghosts and spirits, and subjected to beatings by the law. If someone toils and strives extensively for wealth and profit, without the slightest intention of giving, he will be reborn as a treasure-guarding ghost. If someone steals the wealth of others, using it and perhaps giving it away, he will fall into the realm of ghosts after death.

If giving is difficult, the retribution received will be similar, Giving away what one possesses to benefit others is the supreme method of peace and happiness. Giving is the root of all joys, like planting seeds that bear fruit, Have compassion for those who come seeking, give to them and do not let them return empty-handed. Be cautious not to violate another's wife or daughter, regard them as your own children, Even when facing your own wife, if evil thoughts arise, stop them immediately. If a person's mind is attached to and delights in the realm of desire, In future lives in this world, they will certainly receive the retribution of a female body. If a person detests the female body, abandons desires, and upholds pure precepts, Generating a firm and resolute mind, they will be reborn as a male. If a person practices Brahmacharya (pure conduct), they will be free from all harm and affliction, Possessing the power of merit and virtue, they will be constantly revered by gods and humans. If a person does not drink alcohol, abides in right mindfulness, Always speaks truthfully, they will attain peace and security in this very life. If you see discord among others, advise and reconcile them to bring about harmony, You will gain many relatives and be free from the suffering of separation. Towards the teachings of teachers and elders, always listen and receive them with joy, Weighing the benefits and drawbacks, you will possess skillful wisdom. Those who are poor and serve as laborers, enjoy beating them, Afflicting others without cause, their own suffering will be increased. If a person possesses good looks, relies on them, and becomes arrogant, Teasing and mocking others, they will receive the retribution of being short and hunchbacked. If a person is stingy and miserly, pretending not to hear good advice, Such a person is extremely foolish and will receive the retribution of being deaf and mute. 【English Translation】 English version The retribution of the human realm is complete.
Constantly engaging in flattery and deceit, delighting in anger, resentment, and strife, yet due to past acts of generosity, one becomes a lord of the Asuras (demigods).
The realm of the Asuras is complete.
Delighting in cultivating the causes of the ten virtues, causing no harm to others, constantly protected by the devas (gods), one is born into the Heaven of the Four Kings (Cāturmahārājikakāyika-deva). With respect to parents and the Three Jewels (Triratna), reverently giving according to one's ability, possessing patience and gentleness, one is born into the Heaven of the Thirty-three (Trāyastriṃśa). Not delighting in anger and strife oneself, encouraging others to be harmonious, purely cultivating wholesome causes, one is born into the Heaven of Yama (Yāmadeva). Delighting in hearing much of the true Dharma, focusing on cultivating the wisdom of liberation, joyfully praising the merits of others, one is born into the Heaven of Tuṣita (Tuṣita). With respect to giving, precepts, and other practices, naturally taking delight in them, arousing diligence and courage, one is born into the Heaven of Nirmāṇarati (Nirmāṇarati). Being the highest of sentient beings, possessing the pure conduct of a Śrāmaṇa (ascetic), increasing the causes of liberation, one is born into the Heaven of Paranirmita-vaśavartin (Paranirmita-vaśavartin). Through the cultivation of precepts and meditation, universally assisting one's vows, being born in heavens and among humans, one attains the reality of Suchness (Tathātā). Thus, the retributions of good and evil have been clearly shown; performing good deeds invites the blessings of humans and devas, while committing evil is entangled in extreme suffering. Before old age, sickness, and death arrive, diligently contemplate and seek the true Dharma; once one's own retribution arrives, all that is loved will be separated. Those faults such as greed are deeply repulsive; the wise should contemplate well, therefore one should stay away from them. If one constantly acts to benefit others, then there will be no obstacles or afflictions; the consequences of sin and merit will certainly not be different; briefly said, one should listen carefully.
