真言陀羅尼宗,是一切如來秘密深奧的教法,是自覺聖智頓悟的法門。也是菩薩具足領受清凈戒律和無量威儀,進入一切如來海會壇,接受菩薩職位,超越三界,接受佛教敕令的三摩地(Samadhi)之門。具足因緣,迅速積累功德和廣大智慧,對於無上菩提,都不會退轉,遠離諸天魔一切煩惱以及各種罪業障礙,唸唸之間消融,證得佛的四種身,即自性身、受用身、變化身、等流身,滿足五智和三十七道品等不共佛法。然而如來的變化身,在閻浮提(Jambudvipa)的摩竭陀國(Magadha)菩提場中成就等正覺,為地前菩薩、聲聞、緣覺、凡夫,宣說三乘教法,或者依據他人的意趣而說,或者依據自己的意趣而說,針對種種根器,使用種種方便,如法修行,得到人天果報,或者得到三乘解脫果,或者進步或者退步,對於無上菩提,需要三大阿僧祇劫(asamkhya kalpa)修行勤苦,才能成佛。在王宮出生,在雙林入滅,遺留下的身體舍利,建立佛塔供養,感受人天殊勝美妙的果報,以及涅槃(Nirvana)之因。這不同於報身毗盧遮那(Vairocana),在色界頂第四禪阿迦尼吒天宮(Akanistha),雲集盡虛空遍法界一切諸佛,十地滿足的諸大菩薩證明,警覺身心,頓悟無上菩提,自受用佛,從心中流出無量菩薩,都同一自性,即金剛性。對遍照如來(Vairocana),接受灌頂職位。這些菩薩,各自宣說三密門,獻給毗盧遮那以及一切如來,便請求加持教敕。毗盧遮那佛說:『你們將來,于無量世』

Preface to the Abridged Exposition on the Yoga of the Vajra Peak, Distinguishing the Holy Stages of Cultivation and Realization

The Mantra-Dharani School is the secret and profound teaching of all Tathagatas (Thus Come Ones), a Dharma gate for the spontaneous awakening of sacred wisdom. It is also for Bodhisattvas who fully receive pure precepts and immeasurable dignified conduct, enter the assembly mandala of all Tathagatas, receive the position of Bodhisattva, transcend the Three Realms, and receive the Samadhi (Samadhi) gate of the Buddha's decree. Possessing complete causes and conditions, they quickly accumulate merit and vast wisdom, and will never regress from Anuttara-Samyak-Sambodhi (unsurpassed complete enlightenment), being free from all devas (gods), demons, all afflictions, and all karmic obstacles, dissolving them in every thought, realizing the four bodies of the Buddha, namely the Svabhavikakaya (self-nature body), Sambhogakaya (enjoyment body), Nirmanakaya (transformation body), and Nishyandakaya (emanation body), fulfilling the five wisdoms and the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, which are the unique Dharmas of the Buddha. However, the Nirmanakaya (transformation body) of the Tathagata, in the Bodhimanda (place of enlightenment) of Magadha (Magadha) in Jambudvipa (Jambudvipa), attained complete enlightenment, and for Bodhisattvas before the ten Bhumis (stages), Sravakas (hearers), Pratyekabuddhas (solitary Buddhas), and ordinary beings, expounded the teachings of the Three Vehicles, either according to the intentions of others or according to his own intentions, using various skillful means for various capacities, practicing according to the Dharma, obtaining the rewards of humans and devas, or obtaining the liberation of the Three Vehicles, either progressing or regressing, and for Anuttara-Samyak-Sambodhi (unsurpassed complete enlightenment), it requires three asamkhya kalpas (countless eons) of diligent practice to become a Buddha. Born in the royal palace, entered Nirvana (Nirvana) in the twin Sala trees, the relics of the remaining body are used to build pagodas for offering, experiencing the supreme and wonderful rewards of humans and devas, and the cause of Nirvana. This is different from the Sambhogakaya (enjoyment body) Vairocana (Vairocana), who, in the Akanistha (Akanistha) heaven palace of the fourth Dhyana (meditative absorption) of the form realm, gathers all Buddhas throughout the entire space and Dharma realm, and the great Bodhisattvas who have fulfilled the ten Bhumis (stages) testify, awakening body and mind, instantly realizing Anuttara-Samyak-Sambodhi (unsurpassed complete enlightenment), the self-enjoyment Buddha, from whose heart emanate countless Bodhisattvas, all of the same nature, namely the Vajra (diamond) nature. To Vairocana (Vairocana), they receive the initiation position. These Bodhisattvas each expound the three secret doors, offering them to Vairocana and all Tathagatas, and then request empowerment and instruction. 界。為最上乘者。令得現生世出世間悉地成就。彼諸菩薩受如來敕已。頂禮佛足。圍繞毗盧遮那佛已。各還本方本位。成為五輪。本願幖幟。若見若聞。若入輪壇。能斷有情五趣輪轉生死業障。於五解脫輪中。從一佛至一佛。供養承事。皆令獲得無上菩提。成決定性。猶如金剛不可沮壞。此即毗盧遮那聖眾集會。便為現證窣堵波塔。一一菩薩一一金剛。各住本三昧。住自解脫。皆住大悲願力。廣利有情。若見若聞。悉證三昧。功德智慧頓整合就矣。◎

爾時,金剛界毗盧遮那佛(Vairocana),在阿迦尼吒天宮(Akanistha,色界頂天),以初受用身成就等正覺,證得一切如來平等智,即進入一切如來金剛平等智印三昧耶(Samaya,誓約),即證得一切如來法平等自性光明智藏,成就等正覺后,一切如來,從薩埵金剛(Sattva-vajra,有情金剛),取出虛空藏大摩尼寶(Akasagarbha-mahā-mani,虛空藏大寶珠),用來灌頂,使他發生觀自在法王智(Avalokiteśvara,觀世音菩薩),安立一切如來毗首羯磨善巧智(Vishvakarman,工巧天),讓他前往須彌山頂金剛摩尼寶峰樓閣,聚集聖眾后,於是毗盧遮那佛(Vairocana)加持一切如來,施設四方師子座。當時不動如來(Akshobhya),寶生如來(Ratnasambhava),觀自在王如來(Avalokiteśvara-raja),不空成就如來(Amoghasiddhi),又加持毗盧遮那佛(Vairocana)。然而受用身有兩種,一為自受用,二為他受用。

【English Translation】 English version: For the supreme vehicle, enabling them to attain both worldly and supramundane Siddhi (accomplishments) in this very life. Those Bodhisattvas, having received the command of the Tathagata (Thus Come One), prostrated at the Buddha's feet, circumambulated Vairocana Buddha (the Buddha of Universal Radiance), and each returned to their original direction and position, becoming the five wheels (symbolizing the five great elements of earth, water, fire, wind, and space). The emblem of their original vows, if seen or heard, or if one enters the mandala, can sever the karmic obstacles of sentient beings revolving in the five realms of existence (hell, hungry ghosts, animals, humans, and gods). Within the five wheels of liberation, from one Buddha to another, offering and serving, all can enable them to attain Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi (unsurpassed perfect enlightenment), achieving definiteness, like a diamond, indestructible. This is the holy assembly of Vairocana (the Illuminator), becoming the Stupa (pagoda) of present realization. Each Bodhisattva, each Vajra (diamond being), dwells in their original Samadhi (meditative absorption), dwells in self-liberation, and dwells in the power of great compassion and vows, extensively benefiting sentient beings. If seen or heard, all can attain Samadhi, and merits and wisdom will be quickly accumulated and accomplished.

A Brief Account of the Yoga of the Diamond Peak Sutra: Distinguishing the Stages of Realization and Practice

Translated by the Tripitaka Master Amoghavajra of Daxingshan Temple, bearing the title Kaifu Yitong Sansi Tejin Shi Hongluqing Su Guogong Shiyi Sanqianhu Cizi Zeng Sikong Shi Dajian Zhenghao Da Guangzhi, by Imperial Decree

At that time, Vairocana Buddha (the Buddha of Universal Radiance) of the Diamond Realm, in the Akanistha Heaven (the highest heaven in the Realm of Form), attained perfect enlightenment in his initial Sambhogakaya (enjoyment body), realized the Equality Wisdom of all Tathagatas (Thus Come Ones), and entered the Samaya (vow) of the Vajra Equality Wisdom Seal of all Tathagatas, thus realizing the Light Treasury of the Self-Nature of the Dharma Equality of all Tathagatas. After attaining perfect enlightenment, all Tathagatas, from Sattva-vajra (the Being Vajra), took the Akasagarbha-mahā-mani (great mani jewel of the treasury of space) to consecrate his crown, enabling him to generate the Avalokiteśvara (the Bodhisattva of Compassion) Dharma King Wisdom, establishing the skillful wisdom of Vishvakarman (the celestial architect) of all Tathagatas, and sending him to the Diamond Mani Jewel Peak Pavilion on the summit of Mount Sumeru. After gathering the holy assembly, Vairocana Buddha (the Buddha of Universal Radiance) blessed all Tathagatas and arranged lion thrones in the four directions. At that time, Akshobhya (the Immovable One), Ratnasambhava (the Jewel Born One), Avalokiteśvara-raja (the King of Compassion), and Amoghasiddhi (the Infallible Success) also blessed Vairocana Buddha (the Buddha of Universal Radiance). However, there are two types of Sambhogakaya (enjoyment body): one for self-enjoyment and one for others' enjoyment.

毗盧遮那佛于內心。證得羯磨金剛大精進三摩地智。自受用故。從羯磨金剛大精進三摩地智。流出羯磨光明。遍照十方世界。令一切眾生除一切懈怠。成大精進還來收一體。為令一切菩薩。受用三摩地智故。成羯磨波羅蜜形。住毗盧遮那如來左邊月輪。

To enable Bodhisattvas who have fulfilled the Ten Bhumis to benefit from his enjoyment, four Buddhas emanate from these Four Wisdoms, each residing in their respective direction and seated on their respective throne. Vairocana Buddha, within his mind, realizes the Vajra Bodhicitta Samadhi Wisdom of the Five Peaks for his own enjoyment. From the Vajra Bodhicitta Samadhi Wisdom of the Five Peaks, Vajra Light emanates, illuminating the ten directions of the world, purifying the Great Bodhicitta of all beings, and then returns to become one. To enable all Bodhisattvas to benefit from this Samadhi Wisdom, it manifests as the form of Vajra Paramita, residing in the moon disc before Vairocana Tathagata. Vairocana Buddha, within his mind, realizes the Akasagarbha Great Mani Merit Samadhi Wisdom for his own enjoyment. From the Akasagarbha Great Mani Merit Samadhi Wisdom, Akasagarbha Light emanates, illuminating the ten directions of the world, perfecting the merits of all beings, and then returns to become one. To enable all Bodhisattvas to benefit from this Samadhi Wisdom, it manifests as the form of Vajra Ratna Paramita, residing in the moon disc to the right of Vairocana Tathagata. Vairocana Buddha, within his mind, realizes the Karma Vajra Great Perseverance Samadhi Wisdom for his own enjoyment. From the Karma Vajra Great Perseverance Samadhi Wisdom, Karma Light emanates, illuminating the ten directions of the world, removing all laziness from all beings, perfecting great perseverance, and then returns to become one. To enable all Bodhisattvas to benefit from this Samadhi Wisdom, it manifests as the form of Karma Paramita, residing in the moon disc to the left of Vairocana Tathagata. Vairocana Buddha, within his mind, realizes the Great Lotus Wisdom Samadhi Wisdom for his own enjoyment. From the Great Lotus Wisdom Samadhi Wisdom, Lotus Light emanates, illuminating the ten directions of the world, purifying the adventitious defilements of all beings, and then returns to become one. To enable all Bodhisattvas to benefit from this Samadhi Wisdom, it manifests as the form of Dharma Paramita, residing in the Vairocana


那如來後邊月輪。

毗盧遮那佛于內心。證得金剛薩埵勇猛菩提心三摩地智。自受用故。從金剛薩埵勇猛菩提心三摩地智。流出五峰金剛光明。遍照十方世界。令一切眾生。頓證普賢行。還來收一體。為令一切菩薩。受用三摩地智故。成金剛薩埵菩薩形。住阿閦如來前月輪。

毗盧遮那佛于內心。證得金剛鉤四攝三摩地智。自受用故。從金剛鉤四攝三摩地智。流出金剛光明。遍照十方世界。以四攝法攝一切眾生。安於無上菩提。還來收一體。為令一切菩薩。受用三摩地智故。成金剛王菩薩形。住阿閦如來右邊月輪。

毗盧遮那佛于內心。證得金剛愛大悲箭三摩地智。自受用故。從金剛愛大悲箭三摩地智。流出金剛箭光明。遍照十方世界。射害一切眾生。于無上菩提。厭離心者。還來收一體。為令一切菩薩。受用三摩地智故。成金剛愛菩薩形。住阿閦如來左邊月輪。

毗盧遮那佛于內心。證得金剛善哉歡喜王勇躍三摩地智。自受用故。從金剛善哉歡喜勇躍三摩地智。流出金剛善哉印光明。遍照十方世界。照一切眾生憂戚。于普賢行。生劣意者。令得身心以勇躍。智還來收一體。為令一切菩薩。受用三摩地智故。成金剛善哉菩薩形。住阿閦如來后月輪。

毗盧遮那佛于內心。證得金剛寶灌

【English Translation】 English version Then, behind the Tathagata (That One Who Has Thus Come) is the moon disc.

Vairocana Buddha (The Illuminator) in his heart, attained the Vajrasattva (Diamond Being) Valiant Bodhicitta Samadhi Wisdom. For his own enjoyment, from the Vajrasattva Valiant Bodhicitta Samadhi Wisdom, emanated five-peaked Vajra light, illuminating all the ten directions, causing all sentient beings to instantly realize Samantabhadra's (Universal Worthy's) practices, and returning to be gathered into one body. In order to allow all Bodhisattvas to enjoy the Samadhi Wisdom, he manifested as Vajrasattva Bodhisattva, residing in the moon disc in front of Akshobhya Buddha (Immovable Buddha).

Vairocana Buddha in his heart, attained the Vajra Hook Four Immeasurable Attractions Samadhi Wisdom. For his own enjoyment, from the Vajra Hook Four Immeasurable Attractions Samadhi Wisdom, emanated Vajra light, illuminating all the ten directions, using the Four Immeasurable Attractions to gather all sentient beings, settling them in unsurpassed Bodhi. Returning to be gathered into one body. In order to allow all Bodhisattvas to enjoy the Samadhi Wisdom, he manifested as Vajra King Bodhisattva, residing in the moon disc on the right side of Akshobhya Buddha.

Vairocana Buddha in his heart, attained the Vajra Love Great Compassion Arrow Samadhi Wisdom. For his own enjoyment, from the Vajra Love Great Compassion Arrow Samadhi Wisdom, emanated Vajra Arrow light, illuminating all the ten directions, shooting and harming all sentient beings, those who generate aversion towards unsurpassed Bodhi. Returning to be gathered into one body. Because of self-enjoyment, from the Vajra Dharma Dance Supernormal Play Samadhi Jnana, emanates the Vajra Dance light, illuminating all ten directions, making offerings to all Tathagatas, and breaking through the ignorance and unknowing of all beings, obtaining the six supernormal powers and unhindered play. It then returns and merges into one. In order to enable all Bodhisattvas to enjoy the Samadhi Jnana, it manifests as the Vajra Dharma Dance Goddess-form Bodhisattva, residing in the northeast corner of the moon disc of Vairocana Buddha.

Vairocana Buddha within his heart, attains the Vajra Incense Cloud Ocean Samadhi Jnana (Vajra Incense Cloud Ocean Samadhi Wisdom). Because of self-enjoyment, from the Vajra Incense Cloud Ocean Samadhi Jnana, emanates the Vajra Incense, its light illuminating all ten directions, making offerings to all Tathagatas, and breaking through the foul and defiled afflictions of all beings, obtaining the pleasing and unobstructed wisdom-fragrance.

In each and every Dharma gate, each and every principle, each and every pore, bodily part, and auspicious mark, throughout the entire expanse of space, without obstruction, each residing in its own position, thus forming the self-enjoyment body and other-enjoyment body of Vairocana (the Illuminating One). If according to the Two Vehicles (Śrāvakayāna and Pratyekabuddhayāna), speaking in sequence, if one does not fully cultivate the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment (thirty-seven Bodhipakkhiyadhammas), there is no way to attain the fruit of the path. If one realizes the self-enjoyment body Buddha, one must have the thirty-seven samadhi wisdoms to achieve Buddhahood. Through the empowerment of Vajradhvaja Bodhisattva (Vajradhvaja Bodhisattva, symbolizing the banner of victory), one can fulfill all the worldly and transcendental wishes of sentient beings, like a Cintamani jewel banner, fulfilling all without discrimination. Through the empowerment of Vajrahāsa Bodhisattva (Vajrahāsa Bodhisattva, symbolizing joy), all sentient beings, whether seeing or hearing, will feel joy in their hearts, be firm in the Dharma, and receive the benefits and happiness of the Dharma. Through the empowerment of Vajradharma Bodhisattva (Vajradharma Bodhisattva, symbolizing the Dharma), one attains the pure nature of the Dharma, and can fully expound the subtle Dharma teachings, knowing that all Dharmas are like a raft, a tool for crossing over. Through the blessing of Vajra Lamp Bodhisattva, one obtains the purity of the five eyes, benefiting oneself and others, and freely illuminating the Dharma. Through the blessing of Vajra Incense Bodhisattva, one obtains the Buddha's five kinds of undefiled pure bodies. Through the blessing of Vajra Hook Bodhisattva, one obtains the swift Samadhi of summoning all the holy beings. Through the blessing of Vajra Noose Bodhisattva, one obtains unobstructed skillful wisdom like space. Through the blessing of Vajra Lock Bodhisattva, one obtains the Buddha's firm and undefiled observation of great compassion and liberation. Through the blessing of Vajra Bell Bodhisattva, one obtains the voice of the Tathagata's Prajnaparamita, and those who hear it can destroy all the evil seeds in the Alaya consciousness.

Through the blessing of the power of the thirty-seven internal realizations of the supreme Vajradhatu wisdom, one instantly realizes the body of Vairocana. From the invisible crown of the head, countless Buddha-crown Dharma bodies flow out, gathering in the sky to form a Dharma assembly. The light covers everywhere like the spire of a pagoda, and those who have fulfilled the ten Bhumis cannot see it. It secretly blesses sentient beings, completely eliminating the sins and obstacles of their body and mind. No one can know it, and although they cannot perceive it, it can extinguish all suffering and lead to good destinies. From the light flow out the sixteen Bodhisattvas and the eight directions of inner and outer great protectors, emitting light in turn, illuminating and touching the evil realms, forming the steps of a Stupa, protecting the Stupas and Dharma-realm palaces of all Buddhas, becoming a spire, causing the body to manifest and realize the body of Vairocana, the all-illuminating Tathagata of the Vajradhatu.
