十八契印

從師獲灌頂。既蒙印可已不久當成就。弟子具此相方可為傳授此。即如意寶。能成就諸事業。如經說處所。山間及流水清凈阿蘭若隨樂之澗谷。離諸厄怖難。隨力嚴供具。行人面于本方拜禮本尊。次禮余方佛。以五輪著地。如教之敬禮。雙膝長跪已。合掌虛心住誠心。盡說陳三業一切罪。

我從過去世流轉于生死。今對大聖尊盡心而懺悔。如先佛所懺我今如亦是。愿垂加持力眾生悉清凈。以此大愿故自他獲無垢。

密言曰。

唵薩嚩(二合)婆嚩輸馱薩嚩達磨薩嚩(二合)婆嚩輸度唅

次對本尊前。結跏趺坐或半跏趺坐。起大悲心。我修此法為一切眾生。速證無上正等菩提。先磨諸香以用涂手。然後結于佛部三昧耶陀羅尼印。以二手虛心合掌。開二頭指屈輔二中指上節。二大指屈輔二頭指下節。其印成。置印當心想于如來三十二相八十種好。分明如對目前。至心誦真言七遍。真言曰。

唵怛他(引)蘗都納婆(二合)嚩(引)也娑嚩(二合引)訶(引)

由結此印及誦真言故。即警覺一切如來。悉當護念加持行者。以光明照觸。所有罪障皆得消滅。壽命長遠福慧增長。佛

【English Translation】 English version T18 No. 0900 Eighteen Symbolic Seals No. 900 Eighteen Symbolic Seals Having received Abhisheka (Sanskrit: empowerment) from the teacher, and having been granted permission, one should soon achieve accomplishment. Only a disciple with these qualities may be taught this. This is like the Cintamani (Sanskrit: wish-fulfilling jewel), capable of accomplishing all endeavors. As the scriptures say, the place should be in the mountains, by clear flowing water, in a quiet Aranya (Sanskrit: secluded place, suitable for practice), or a pleasant valley. Away from all calamities and fears. Prepare offerings to the best of your ability. The practitioner faces their respective direction, bows to the principal deity. Then bows to the Buddhas of other directions. With the five wheels (referring to the two hands, two knees, and head) touching the ground. Respectfully prostrate as instructed. After kneeling on both knees, join palms with an empty mind, sincerely. Exhaustively confess all sins of body, speech, and mind. I have transmigrated through Samsara (Sanskrit: cycle of birth and death) from past lives. Now, I wholeheartedly repent before the Great Holy One. Just as the Buddhas of the past repented, so do I now. May you have compassion and grant blessings, so that all beings may be purified. By this great vow, may self and others obtain purity without defilement. The secret mantra says: Om Sarva-bhava-shuddha Sarva-dharma Sarva-bhava-shuddho ham Then, in front of the principal deity, sit in full lotus or half lotus posture. Generate great compassion. I practice this Dharma (Sanskrit: teachings, law) for the sake of all beings, to quickly attain Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi (Sanskrit: unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment). First, rub various incenses to anoint the hands. Then form the Buddha-family Samaya-dharani-mudra (Sanskrit: vow-mantra-seal). With both hands, join palms with an empty mind. Open the two index fingers, bend and support them on the upper joints of the two middle fingers. Bend the two thumbs and support them on the lower joints of the two index fingers. The mudra is formed. Place the mudra in front of the heart, visualize the thirty-two marks and eighty minor marks of the Buddha. Clearly and distinctly as if before your eyes. Recite the mantra seven times with utmost sincerity. The mantra says: Om Tathagata-udbhavaya Svaha By forming this mudra and reciting this mantra, one awakens all the Tathagatas (Sanskrit: 'Thus-gone', an epithet of the Buddha). All the Tathagatas will protect and bless the practitioner, illuminating them with light. All sins and obstacles will be eliminated. Longevity will be extended, and blessings and wisdom will increase.


部聖眾擁護歡喜。生生世世離諸惡趣。蓮華化生速證無上正等菩提。

次蓮華部三昧耶 以二手虛心合掌。散開二頭指二中指二無名指。屈如蓮華形安於當心。想觀自在菩薩相好具足。誦真言七遍於頂右散真言曰。

唵跛娜謨(二合)納婆(二合)嚩(引)也娑嚩(二合引)訶(引)

由結此印及誦真言故。即警覺觀自在菩薩等持蓮華部聖眾。悉皆歡喜加持護念。一切菩薩光明照觸。所有業障皆得除滅。一切菩薩常為善友。

次結金剛部三昧耶印 以左手翻掌向外。以右手掌背安左手背。用左右大指小指。互相鉤如金剛杵形。安置於當心想金剛手菩薩。誦真言七遍。頂上左散之。真言曰。

唵嚩日盧(二合)納婆(二合)嚩(引)也娑嚩(二合)訶(引)

由結此印及誦真言故。即警覺一切金剛部聖眾。加持擁護。所有罪障皆悉除滅。一切病苦痛不著身。當得金剛堅固之體。

次結護身三昧耶 以二手內相叉右押左。豎二手中指。屈二頭指如鉤形。于中指背勿令相著。並二大指押無名指即成。印身五處。所謂額。次右肩。次左肩。次心。次喉。于頂上散。各誦真言一遍。真言曰。

唵嚩日羅(二合)銀你(二合)缽啰(二合引)捻跛跢(二合引)也娑嚩(二合)訶

【現代漢語翻譯】 現代漢語譯本: 部聖眾擁護歡喜。生生世世脫離各種惡趣。于蓮花中化生,迅速證得無上正等正覺(Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi,無上的、正確的、完全的覺悟)。

接下來是蓮華部(Padma-kula)三昧耶(Samaya,誓言)印:兩手虛心合掌,散開兩個食指、兩個中指、兩個無名指,彎曲成蓮花形狀,安放在胸前。觀想觀自在菩薩(Avalokiteśvara)相好莊嚴具足。誦持真言七遍,在頭頂右方散開。真言曰:

唵(Om) 跛娜謨(二合,Padmo) 納婆(二合,dbhava) 嚩(引,va) 也 娑嚩(二合引,svaha) 訶(引,ha)

由於結此手印及誦持真言的緣故,即能警覺觀自在菩薩等所持蓮華部聖眾。他們都會歡喜加持護念。一切菩薩的光明照耀觸及,所有業障都得以消除。一切菩薩常為善友。

接下來結金剛部(Vajra-kula)三昧耶印:左手翻掌向外,用右手掌背安放在左手背上,用左右拇指和小指互相鉤住,如金剛杵(Vajra)的形狀。安放在胸前,觀想金剛手菩薩(Vajrapani)。誦持真言七遍,在頭頂左方散開。真言曰:

【English Translation】 English version: May the holy assembly of the Buddha protect and rejoice. May we be separated from all evil destinies in every lifetime. May we be born from a lotus flower and quickly attain the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment (Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi).

Next is the Samaya (vow) mudra (seal) of the Padma-kula (Lotus family): With both hands, form a hollow-hearted joined palm. Spread open the two index fingers, two middle fingers, and two ring fingers, bending them into the shape of a lotus flower, and place them at the chest. Visualize Avalokiteśvara (the Bodhisattva of Compassion) with all his auspicious marks and qualities complete. Recite the mantra seven times, scattering it over the right side of the crown of the head. The mantra is:

Om Padmo dbhava va svaha ha

By forming this mudra and reciting this mantra, one immediately awakens the holy assembly of the Padma-kula held by Avalokiteśvara and others. They will all rejoice, bless, protect, and remember you. The light of all Bodhisattvas will shine upon and touch you, and all karmic obstacles will be eliminated. All Bodhisattvas will always be good friends.

Next, form the Samaya mudra of the Vajra-kula (Diamond family): Turn the left palm outward. Place the back of the right palm on the back of the left hand. Hook the left and right thumbs and little fingers together, forming the shape of a vajra (diamond scepter). Place it at the chest and visualize Vajrapani (the Bodhisattva holding the vajra). Recite the mantra seven times, scattering it over the left side of the crown of the head. The mantra is:

Om Vajro dbhava va svaha ha

By forming this mudra and reciting this mantra, one immediately awakens the entire holy assembly of the Vajra-kula. They will bless and protect you. All sins and obstacles will be completely eliminated. All sickness, suffering, and pain will not cling to the body. One will attain a vajra-like, firm body.

Next, form the self-protection Samaya: Cross both hands inward, with the right hand pressing on the left. Erect the two middle fingers, and bend the two index fingers into the shape of hooks, without allowing them to touch at the back of the middle fingers. Press the two thumbs against the ring fingers, thus forming the mudra. Seal the five places of the body: the forehead, then the right shoulder, then the left shoulder, then the heart, then the throat. Scatter it over the crown of the head. Recite each mantra once. The mantra is:

Om Vajra agni prajna ya svaha

由結此印及誦真言加持故即成被金剛甲冑。所有毗那夜迦及諸天魔。作障礙者退散馳走。悉是見行者光明被身威德自在。若居山林及在險難皆悉無畏。水火等災一切厄難。虎狼獅子刀杖枷鎖如是等事皆悉消滅。見者歡喜命終已后不墮惡趣。當生諸佛凈妙國土。

次結地界真言印 右無名指入左無名指小指內。右中指入左中指頭指內。左亦如之。余指並頭相拄。即想印成火焰金剛杵形。以大指著地掣之。一掣一誦至三便止。隨意大小標心。即成堅固地界。真言曰。

唵枳里枳里縛日羅(二合引)縛日裡(二合)部律(二合半音)滿馱滿馱吽發吒(半音)

由結此印及誦真言加持地界故。下至水際如金剛座。天魔及諸障者不為惱害。少加功力速得成就。

次結方隅金剛墻真言印 準前地界印。開二大指豎之側如墻形。想印如金剛杵形。右繞身三轉標心大小。即成金剛堅固之城。諸佛菩薩尚不違越。何況諸餘難調伏者。毗那夜迦。及毒蟲利牙爪者不能輔近。真言曰。

唵薩羅薩羅縛日羅(二合)缽羅(二合)迦(引)羅吽(引)發吒(半音)

行者次應想。于壇中八葉大蓮華上有獅子座。座上有七寶樓閣。垂諸瓔珞繒彩幡蓋寶柱行列。垂妙天衣周布香云。普雨雜花奏諸

【現代漢語翻譯】 現代漢語譯本 (引) 結此手印並誦持真言加持后,立即形成金剛甲冑。所有的毗那夜迦(Vinayaka,像頭神)以及諸天魔,凡是製造障礙者都會退散逃走。這是因為他們看到修行者身上散發的光明和威德力。如果居住在山林或者身處險境,都能無所畏懼。水火等災難,一切厄運,虎狼獅子,刀杖枷鎖等等,這些事情都會全部消滅。見到修行者的人會心生歡喜,命終之後不會墮入惡趣,將會往生到諸佛清凈美妙的國土。

接下來結地界真言印:將右手的無名指放入左手的無名指和小指內側。右手中指放入左手中指和食指內側。左手也同樣。其餘手指指頭互相靠在一起。觀想手印變成火焰金剛杵的形狀。用大拇指按在地上,然後提起。提起一次誦唸一次,總共三次停止。隨意設定地界的範圍大小。這樣就形成了堅固的地界。真言是:

接下來結方隅金剛墻真言印:與之前的地界印相似,打開兩個大拇指,豎立起來,側面看起來像墻的形狀。觀想手印如同金剛杵的形狀。向右繞身三圈,設定金剛墻的大小。這樣就形成了金剛堅固的城墻。諸佛菩薩尚且不會違越,更何況那些難以調伏者。毗那夜迦(Vinayaka,像頭神),以及毒蟲利爪之輩都不能靠近。真言是:

唵(Om)薩羅薩羅縛日羅(Vajra,金剛)缽羅(Pra)迦(Ka)羅吽(Hum)發吒(Phat)

修行者接下來應當觀想,在壇城中央的八葉大蓮花上有一個獅子座。獅子座上有七寶樓閣,垂掛著各種瓔珞、繒彩幡蓋、寶柱排列。垂掛著美妙的天衣,周圍佈滿香云,普遍散落各種鮮花,演奏各種音樂。

【English Translation】 English version (Introduction) By forming this mudra (hand gesture) and reciting the mantra (sacred utterance), it immediately becomes a Vajra (diamond/thunderbolt) armor. All Vinayakas (Vinayaka, remover of obstacles) and all celestial demons who create obstacles will retreat and flee. This is because they see the practitioner's light and majestic power enveloping their body. Whether dwelling in mountains or in dangerous places, one will be fearless. Disasters such as fire and water, all calamities, tigers, wolves, lions, knives, staves, shackles, and such things will all be extinguished. Those who see the practitioner will rejoice, and after death, they will not fall into evil realms but will be reborn in the pure and wonderful lands of all Buddhas.

Next, form the Earth Boundary Mantra Mudra: Place the right ring finger inside the left ring finger and little finger. Place the right middle finger inside the left middle finger and index finger. Do the same with the left hand. The tips of the remaining fingers should touch each other. Visualize the mudra transforming into the shape of a flaming Vajra (diamond/thunderbolt) pestle. Press the thumbs on the ground and then lift them. Lift and recite once, stopping after three times. Freely determine the size of the earth boundary. Thus, a firm earth boundary is formed. The mantra is:

Om Kilikili Vajra Vajri Bhrum Bandha Bandha Hum Phat

By forming this mudra and reciting the mantra to bless the earth boundary, the area below, down to the water's edge, becomes as solid as a Vajra (diamond/thunderbolt) seat. Celestial demons and all obstacles will not be able to disturb or harm. With a little effort, one can quickly achieve accomplishment.

Next, form the Directional Vajra (diamond/thunderbolt) Wall Mantra Mudra: Similar to the previous Earth Boundary Mudra, open the two thumbs and raise them vertically, so that the sides resemble the shape of a wall. Visualize the mudra as the shape of a Vajra (diamond/thunderbolt) pestle. Circle the body three times to the right, setting the size of the Vajra (diamond/thunderbolt) wall. Thus, a firm and solid Vajra (diamond/thunderbolt) city is formed. Even Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will not violate it, let alone those who are difficult to tame. Vinayakas (Vinayaka, remover of obstacles), poisonous insects, and those with sharp teeth and claws cannot approach. The mantra is:

Om Sarva Sarva Vajra Pra Kara Hum Phat

The practitioner should then visualize a lion throne on an eight-petaled lotus flower in the center of the mandala. On the lion throne is a seven-jeweled pavilion, adorned with various necklaces, silk banners, canopies, and rows of precious pillars. Beautiful celestial garments hang down, and fragrant clouds fill the surroundings, scattering various flowers and playing various musical instruments.


音樂。寶瓶閼伽天妙飲食摩尼為燈作此觀已而誦此偈。

以我功德力  如來加持力  及以法界力  普供養而住

說此偈已。

次結大虛空藏普通供養印 以二手合掌。以二中指外相叉。以二頭指相柱。反蹙如寶形。結印成已誦真言四遍。普通供養真言曰。

唵誐誐曩三(去)婆(去)

由誦此真言加持故。所想供養供具真實無異。一切賢聖眾皆得受用。

次應結寶車輅印 二手內相叉仰掌。頭指橫相柱。以二大指各捻頭指根下。想七寶車輅金剛駕御寶車。乘空而去至於本尊極樂世界。誦真言三遍。真言曰。

唵都嚕都嚕吽

由此真言印加持故。七寶車輅至本尊國土。想本尊及諸聖眾眷屬圍繞乘寶車輅。至於道場虛空而住。

次結請車輅印 準前印。以大指向身。撥中指頭。誦真言三遍。真言曰。

娜么悉底羅野(四合)地尾(二合)迦(引)喃(引)(一)怛他(引)蘗多(引)南(引)(二)唵嚩日朗(二合)銀你野(二合引)羯利沙(二合)也娑嚩(二合引)訶(引)

由結此真言印加持故。聖眾從本土來至道場空中而住。

次結請本尊三昧耶降至於道場印。二手內相叉作拳。左大母指入掌。次右大母指向身招之真言曰。

【現代漢語翻譯】 現代漢語譯本:音樂。寶瓶(Bao Ping,裝滿水的瓶子)閼伽(A'qie,供養用的水)天妙飲食摩尼(Tian Miao Yin Shi Mo Ni,天上的美妙飲食和摩尼寶珠)為燈作此觀想后,誦唸此偈:

以我的功德力,如來的加持力,以及法界的力量,普遍供養而安住。

說完此偈后。

接著結大虛空藏普通供養印:雙手合掌,兩中指外相交叉,兩食指相拄,反向彎曲如寶形。結印完成後誦唸真言四遍。普通供養真言說:

唵 誐誐曩 三婆。

由於誦唸此真言加持的緣故,所觀想的供養供具真實不虛。一切賢聖眾都能得到受用。

接著應該結寶車輅印:兩手內相交叉仰掌,食指橫向相拄,兩大拇指各自捻住食指根部下方。觀想七寶車輅由金剛駕御,寶車乘空而去,到達本尊的極樂世界。誦唸真言三遍。真言說:

唵 都嚕都嚕 吽。

由此真言印加持的緣故,七寶車輅到達本尊的國土。觀想本尊及諸聖眾眷屬圍繞乘坐寶車輅,到達道場虛空而安住。

接著結請車輅印:與前印相同,將大拇指向自身方向撥動中指頭。誦唸真言三遍。真言說:

娜么 悉底羅野 地尾 迦喃 怛他 蘗多喃 唵 嚩日朗 銀你野 羯利沙也 娑嚩訶。

由於結此真言印加持的緣故,聖眾從本土來到道場空中而安住。

接著結請本尊三昧耶降至於道場印:兩手內相交叉握拳,左大拇指放入掌中,然後右大拇指向自身方向招引。真言說:

【English Translation】 English version: Music. After visualizing the precious vase (Bao Ping, a vase filled with water), Arghya (A'qie, water for offering), heavenly exquisite food, and Mani (Tian Miao Yin Shi Mo Ni, heavenly exquisite food and Mani jewel) as lamps, recite this verse:

By the power of my merit, the blessing power of the Tathagata, and the power of the Dharmadhatu, may I dwell in universal offering.

After reciting this verse.

Next, form the Great Void Treasury Universal Offering Mudra: Join the palms of both hands, cross the middle fingers outwards, touch the index fingers together, and bend them backwards into a jewel shape. After forming the mudra, recite the mantra four times. The Universal Offering Mantra says:

Om Gagana Sambhava.

By the power of reciting this mantra, the visualized offerings and implements are real and not different. All the worthy and holy beings can receive and enjoy them.

Next, one should form the Precious Carriage Mudra: Cross the hands inwards with palms facing upwards, touch the index fingers horizontally, and place each thumb on the base of the index finger. Visualize a seven-jeweled carriage driven by Vajras, the precious carriage riding through the air and reaching the Pure Land of the principal deity. Recite the mantra three times. The mantra says:

Om Turu Turu Hum.

By the power of this mantra and mudra, the seven-jeweled carriage reaches the principal deity's land. Visualize the principal deity and all the holy beings surrounded by their retinue, riding the precious carriage and dwelling in the sky above the Mandala.

Next, form the Inviting Carriage Mudra: Same as the previous mudra, but flick the tips of the middle fingers towards oneself with the thumbs. Recite the mantra three times. The mantra says:

Namaḥ sthirāya dīvīkānāṃ tathāgatānāṃ oṃ vajrāghriṇi ākarṣaya svāhā.

By the power of forming this mantra and mudra, the holy beings come from their own lands and dwell in the sky above the Mandala.

Next, form the mudra for inviting the principal deity's Samaya to descend to the Mandala: Cross the hands inwards to form fists, place the left thumb inside the palm, then point the right thumb towards oneself to beckon. The mantra says:


唵爾曩爾迦(半音)唵阿盧力迦(半音)唵嚩日羅特勒迦(半音)阿蘗車阿蘗車娑嚩(二合)訶

由此真言印加持故。本尊不越本誓故。即赴集於道場。

次應辟除諸作障者。結蓮華部明王馬頭觀自在菩薩真言印。二手合掌。屈二頭指二無名指。于掌內甲相背。豎開二大指。以印左轉三匝。心想辟除諸作障者。一切諸魔見此印已。退散馳走。以印右旋三匝。即成堅固火界。真言曰。

唵阿蜜里(二合)都納皤(二合)嚩吽發吒(半音)娑嚩(二合)訶

次結上方金剛網印 準前墻印二大指捻二頭指下節。誦真言三遍。頭上右轉三匝便止。真言曰。

唵尾娑普(二合)羅捺落(二合)乞叉(二合)嚩日羅(二合)半惹羅吽發吒

由此網印真言加持故。即成金剛堅固不壞之網。

次結火院密縫印 以左手掩右手背。豎二大指誦真言三遍。右繞身三匝。想金剛墻外火院圍繞。真言曰。

唵阿三莽擬你(二合)吽發吒

次獻閼伽香水真言印 二手捧器。想浴聖眾足。誦真言三遍。真言曰。

曩莫三滿多沒馱(引)南(引)誐誐曩娑莽(引)娑莽娑嚩(二合引)訶(引)

由獻閼伽香水故。行者三業清凈洗滌煩惱垢。

次結獻蓮華座印 二手虛心

接下來結火院密縫印,用左手覆蓋右手背,豎起兩個大拇指,誦讀真言三遍,向右繞身三圈,想像金剛墻外有火院圍繞。真言是:

By the power of this mantra mudra, the principal deity, not violating their original vow, immediately descends to the mandala.

Next, one should repel all obstructors. Form the Lotus Family Bright King Hayagriva Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva mantra mudra. Place the hands together in prayer. Bend the two index fingers and two ring fingers, with the backs of the fingernails touching inside the palms. Raise and separate the two thumbs. Rotate this mudra three times to the left, visualizing the repulsion of all obstructors. Upon seeing this mudra, all demons retreat and flee. Rotate the mudra three times to the right, thus forming a firm fire boundary. The mantra is:

Om a mi li (two combined) du na po (two combined) wa hum phat (half tone) suo wa (two combined) ha

Next, form the Vajra Net Mudra above. According to the previous Wall Mudra, pinch the lower joints of the two index fingers with the two thumbs. Chant the mantra three times, rotating it three times clockwise above the head, then stop. The mantra is:

Om wei suo pu (two combined) luo na luo (two combined) qi cha (two combined) wa ri la (two combined) ban re la hum phat

By the power of this net mudra mantra, a vajra-firm and indestructible net is formed.

Next, form the Fire Court Sealed Mudra. Cover the back of the right hand with the left hand. Raise the two thumbs and chant the mantra three times. Circle the body three times to the right, visualizing a fire court surrounding the vajra wall. The mantra is:

Om a san mang ni ni (two combined) hum phat

Next, offer the Alag香水 (fragrant water offered to deities) mantra mudra. Hold the vessel with both hands, visualizing bathing the feet of the holy assembly. Chant the mantra three times. The mantra is:

Na mo san man duo mu tuo (elongated sound) nan (elongated sound) e e na suo mang (elongated sound) suo mang suo wa (two combined elongated sound) ha (elongated sound)

By offering the Alag香水, the practitioner's three karmas (body, speech, and mind) are purified, washing away the defilements of afflictions.

Next, form the Lotus Seat Offering Mudra, with hands in an empty-hearted gesture.


合掌。舒開左右無名指中指頭指屈如微敷蓮華形。在寶樓閣內。想諸聖眾及本尊各坐本位。眷屬圍繞了了分明。誦真言三遍。真言曰。

由結花座印誦真言故。行者當得十地滿足。當得金剛之座。

次結普供養印 二手合掌。以右押左交指即成。誦真言三遍。想無量無邊涂香雲海花鬘雲海燒香雲海飲食燈明等雲海。皆成清凈廣多供養普供養。真言曰。

曩莫三滿多沒馱(引)南薩縛他(引)欠揾娜蘗底娑頗(二合)羅呬𤚥誐誐曩(引)劍娑嚩(二合)訶(引)

十八契印者。傳云惠果和尚制。或云弘法大師作。今按三十帖冊子目錄云。大聖歡喜天經一卷(不空譯末有十八道頸次第)。又云。梵字十八道真言。以此思之。大師據件二本記之乎。

十八契印生起略頌(就生起意)。

一莊嚴行者五種  凈佛蓮金及被甲  二者結界法二種  一地結二金剛墻  三者莊嚴道場二  道場虛空普供養  四者勸請法三種  送車請車亦奉請  五者結護法三種  當部明王網火院  六者供養法三種  閼伽花座普供養  初二供養別供也  唯別奉獻本尊供  后一供養總供也  獻本尊及諸聖眾  總六別十八軌則  是名十八契印耳

十八契印者,相傳是惠果和尚所制,或者說是弘法大師所作。現在按照三十帖冊子目錄所說:《大聖歡喜天經》一卷(不空譯,末尾有十八道頸次第)。又說:梵字十八道真言。以此推測,大師是根據這兩本書記錄的嗎?

十八契印生起略頌(就生起之意):

一、莊嚴行者五種:凈佛、蓮花、金剛及被甲。 二、結界法二種:一地結、二金剛墻。 三、莊嚴道場二:道場虛空、普供養。 四、勸請法三種:送車、請車亦奉請。 五、結護法三種:當部明王、網火院。 六、供養法三種:閼伽(è qié)花、座、普供養。 初二供養是別供,唯獨奉獻本尊供。 后一供養是總供,獻本尊及諸聖眾。 總共六類,分別十八種軌則,這就是所謂的十八契印。

【English Translation】 English version Join palms. Extend the left and right ring fingers, middle fingers, and index fingers, curving them slightly like a blooming lotus flower. Within the jeweled pavilion, visualize all the holy beings and the principal deity each seated in their respective positions, surrounded by their retinue, clearly and distinctly. Recite the mantra three times. The mantra is:

Om Kama La Svaha (two combined, elongated)

By forming the flower seat mudra and reciting the mantra, the practitioner will attain the fulfillment of the ten bhumis (stages of enlightenment) and will attain the vajra (diamond) seat.

Next, form the Universal Offering Mudra: Join both hands in prayer, with the right hand overlapping the left, interlacing the fingers. Recite the mantra three times. Visualize immeasurable and boundless clouds of scented unguents, clouds of flower garlands, clouds of burning incense, clouds of food and drink, lamps, and so on, all transforming into pure, vast, and abundant universal offerings. The mantra is:

Namo Samanta Buddhanam Sarvatha Kham Utgatay Sphara Himam Gagana Kam Svaha (two combined, elongated)

The eighteen symbolic seals (khechari mudras) are said to have been created by Master Huiguo, or perhaps by Master Kobo (弘法大師 Kōbō-daishi). According to the table of contents of the Thirty Fascicle Booklet, there is a volume of the 'Mahasanti Hiten Sutra' (translated by Amoghavajra, with the eighteen neck sequences at the end). It also says: 'Eighteen-fold Sanskrit mantras'. Considering this, did the master record it based on these two books?

  4. Three kinds of invitation methods: Sending a vehicle, inviting a vehicle, and also offering an invitation.
  5. Three kinds of protection methods: The Vidyaraja (明王 Myō-ō) of the respective family, net of fire court.
  6. Three kinds of offering methods: Arghya (閼伽 offering of water for washing), flower, seat, universal offering. The first two offerings are separate offerings, offered solely to the principal deity. The last offering is a general offering, offered to the principal deity and all the holy beings. 【English Translation】 English version: How does the generation stage (Utpattikrama) arise? To enter the gate of secret Dharani (secret mantra), one must first adjust, purify, and adorn one's body. Since the body has been adjusted, purified, and adorned, one should also bless the pure realm and ground. Since the practice of blessing the realm and ground has been cultivated, one should then adorn the Mandala (sacred space). Since the Mandala has been adorned, one should invite the principal deity (Ishtadevata) Great Holy One. Since one is able to invite the Holy One, one should valiantly and diligently establish protective boundaries (Raksha), protecting both internally and externally without obstacles, and then one should make offerings. Thus, without rising from the seat, one can accomplish Siddhi (spiritual power or attainment).
