如是我聞。一時世尊。在忉利天帝釋宮中善法堂會。而於是時忽有阿素啰王。與諸眷屬部領兵眾。各各身被甲冑手執器仗。前後圍繞來相戰鬥。討伐忉利天宮。爾時帝釋天主與諸天眾。身嚴寶鎧執持器仗與之共戰。時阿素啰王兵眾得勝。忉利天眾退敗怖散馳走。
是時帝釋天主。隱天主容儀現常人相。速疾奔馳往覲世尊。到佛所已頂禮佛足。而白佛言世尊。我今為阿素啰王將諸兵眾來相戰伐。忉利天眾退散怖散馳走。以何方便救我此難。是時。
佛告帝釋天主言。汝當諦聽吾為汝說。有陀羅尼名無能勝幡莊嚴。我于往昔為菩薩時。有佛號無能勝幡王如來。于彼佛所得聞此陀羅尼。從是已來我亦為他。廣說是法得大徴祥。而未曾有彈指之頃怖畏之事。是時佛復告帝釋天主言。我今為汝說是無能勝幡莊嚴陀羅尼曰。

如是我聞。一時,世尊在忉利天(Trayastrimsa)帝釋宮(Indra's palace)中的善法堂集會。當時,忽然有阿素啰(Asura)王,率領眷屬部下和兵眾,各自身披甲冑,手持兵器,前後包圍前來戰鬥,討伐忉利天宮。當時,帝釋天主(Lord Indra)與諸天眾,身著華麗的寶鎧,手持兵器與阿素啰作戰。當時阿素啰王兵眾得勝,忉利天眾戰敗,驚慌四散逃走。
這時,帝釋天主隱藏起天主的容貌儀態,顯現出普通人的樣子,快速奔向世尊處。到達佛陀處后,頂禮佛足,稟告佛陀說:『世尊,我現在被阿素啰王率領兵眾前來攻打,忉利天眾潰敗逃散。用什麼方法才能救我脫離此難?』這時,

The Sutra of the Dhāraṇī of the Adornment of the Tathāgata Unconquerable Banner King, Spoken by the Buddha
Translated by the Shramana Śīlapāla, recipient of the Purple Robe, from the Imperial Palace Temple of Udyāna (Uttara) in Northern India, under Imperial Decree.
Thus have I heard. At one time, the World-Honored One was in the Trayastrimsa Heaven (忉利天), in the Sudharma Hall (善法堂) within Indra's palace (帝釋宮). At that time, suddenly there was an Asura (阿素啰) King, leading his retinue, troops, and soldiers, each clad in armor and holding weapons, surrounding and attacking, seeking to conquer the Trayastrimsa Heaven. At that time, Lord Indra (帝釋天主) and the heavenly hosts, adorned in magnificent jeweled armor and wielding weapons, fought against the Asuras. The Asura King's forces were victorious, and the Trayastrimsa Heaven's hosts were defeated, scattering in fear and fleeing.
At that time, Lord Indra concealed his divine appearance and manifested as an ordinary person, quickly rushing to the presence of the World-Honored One. Having arrived at the Buddha's location, he prostrated at the Buddha's feet and said to the Buddha: 'World-Honored One, I am now being attacked by the Asura King leading his troops, and the Trayastrimsa Heaven's hosts have been defeated and scattered. What means can save me from this difficulty?' At that time,
The Buddha said to Lord Indra: 'You should listen carefully, and I will explain to you. There is a dhāraṇī called the Adornment of the Unconquerable Banner. In the past, when I was a Bodhisattva, there was a Buddha named the Tathāgata Unconquerable Banner King. I heard this dhāraṇī from that Buddha. Since then, I have also widely proclaimed this Dharma to others, obtaining great auspiciousness, and have never experienced any fear, even for the snap of a finger.' At that time, the Buddha again said to Lord Indra: 'I will now recite for you this dhāraṇī of the Adornment of the Unconquerable Banner, which is:'

佛告帝釋天主言。此無能勝幡莊嚴陀羅尼。常于內外加護於我。汝應持是陀羅尼。以雜色彩作囊盛之繫於旌旗之上。令汝所往之處。或與他敵相鬥相罵相殺。或與他冤言詞相競一切之處無不獲勝。汝應書寫此陀羅尼。以囊盛之繫於項上護持于汝。我亦為未來之世。世間仁王一切之處作其衛護。彼無能勝幡王如來。現天女相在於面前。施與無畏護持獲勝。令彼冤敵軍眾散敗。若是仁王復能書寫流佈受持。讀誦此陀羅尼者。常獲清凈吉祥之事。諸外冤敵無能得勝。
佛說是經已。帝釋天主及諸天眾。聞佛所說皆大歡喜。信受奉行作禮而退。

佛說完這部經后,帝釋天主以及各位天眾,聽聞佛所說,都非常歡喜,信受奉行,行禮後退下。
佛說無能勝幡莊嚴陀羅尼經
【English Translation】 English version: He (followed by anusvara) He (followed by anusvara one hundred eight) Su-ri-ja (dvi-samyukta followed by anusvara) ri-ge (dvi-samyukta one hundred nine) Vi-ma-le (one hundred ten) Svaha (dvi-samyukta followed by anusvara one hundred eleven) Sarva (dvi-samyukta) Graha (one hundred twelve) Nakshatra (dvi-samyukta one hundred thirteen) Dha (followed by anusvara) Mi (descending tone followed by anusvara) Gra-ha-na (one hundred fourteen) Svaha (dvi-samyukta followed by anusvara one hundred fifteen)
The Buddha told Shakra, Lord of the Devas (帝釋天主): 'This 'Invincible Banner Adornment Dharani' constantly protects and blesses me, both internally and externally. You should uphold this dharani, make a pouch with various colored threads to contain it, and tie it to the banner. This will ensure that wherever you go, whether you are fighting, arguing, or killing enemies, or contending with adversaries in speech, you will be victorious in all circumstances. You should write this dharani, put it in a pouch, and wear it around your neck to protect you. I will also, for the sake of future generations, protect the benevolent kings (仁王) of the world in all places. That Invincible Banner King Tathagata (無能勝幡王如來) will appear before you in the form of a celestial maiden, bestowing fearlessness, protecting you to achieve victory, and causing the armies of your enemies to scatter and flee. If the benevolent king can also write, disseminate, uphold, and recite this dharani, he will always obtain pure and auspicious events, and no external enemies will be able to defeat him.'
After the Buddha finished speaking this sutra, Shakra, Lord of the Devas, and all the devas, hearing what the Buddha had said, were greatly delighted, accepted it with faith, practiced accordingly, paid homage, and withdrew.
