如是我聞。一時婆伽梵在三十三天善法堂中。與諸比丘諸大菩薩天主帝釋無量眾俱。爾時婆伽梵敷座而坐。即入普觀烏瑟尾沙三昧。時婆伽梵忽從肉髻。演出秘密微妙法行。

【English Translation】 English version 'The Dhāraṇī of the Great White Umbrella Canopy of the Buddha's Crown'

Thus have I heard. At one time, the Bhagavan (Bhagavān) was in the Trayastrimsha (Trāyastriṃśa) Heaven, in the Hall of Good Dharma, together with all the Bhikshus, great Bodhisattvas, the Lord of the Gods, Indra (Indra), and immeasurable multitudes. At that time, the Bhagavan arranged a seat and sat down, and immediately entered the Samadhi of Universal Observation of the Ushnisha (Uṣṇīṣa). Then, the Bhagavan suddenly emanated secret and subtle Dharma practices from his crown protuberance.

Namo to all the Buddhas and great Bodhisattvas! Namo Buddhaya (Buddha)! Namo Dharmaya (Dharma)! Namo Sanghaya (Saṃgha)! Namo to the seven kotis (koṭi) of Buddhas and all the great Shravakas! Namo to all the Arhats (Arhat) in the world! Namo to all the Stream-enterers (Srotaāpanna)! Namo to all the Once-returners (Sakṛdāgāmin)! Namo to all the Non-returners (Anāgāmin)! Namo to all the Right-goers in the world! Namo to all those heading towards Right-going! Namo to all the great celestial immortals who can benefit even through curses and imprecations! Namo to the accomplished Vidyadharas! Namo to the Great Brahma King (Brahmā)! Namo to the Lord of the Gods, Indra! Namo to the Rudraya (Rudra) Uma-pati-sahita! Namo to the assembly that reverently salutes the five great Mudras of the Son of No Love! Namo to Mahakala (Mahākāla), who destroys the city of the three realms, delights in the charnel ground, and is revered by the mother ghosts! Namo Bhagavate Tathagata Kula (Kula)! Namo Lotus Kula! 如是敬禮諸佛等已。婆伽婆帝佛頂大白傘蓋無有能敵。般啰(二合)當雞啰母。能滅一切部多鬼魅。斷諸明咒解脫繫縛。遠離夭橫憂惱惡夢。摧壞八萬四千妖魔及八執曜。復能使令二十八宿生大歡喜。亦能移回一切冤害所有一切起毒害者。並諸惡夢皆使殄滅。又能救除毒藥器械水火等難。

【English Translation】 English version Homage to the Bhagavan, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Enlightened Śākyamuni Buddha (the Sage of the Śākyas, the silent ascetic), Homage to the Bhagavan, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Enlightened Ratnaketu Buddha (Jewel Banner Buddha), Homage to the Bhagavan, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Enlightened Samantabhadra Buddha (Universal Worthy Buddha), Homage to the Bhagavan, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Enlightened Vairocana Buddha (the Illuminator), Homage to the Bhagavan, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Enlightened Wide-Eyed Utpala Flower Fragrance Banner King Buddha.

Having thus paid homage to all the Buddhas, the Bhagavati, the Great White Umbrella Canopy of the Buddha's Crown, is unopposed. Para Dang Jilamu. It can extinguish all bhūtas (ghosts) and demons. It cuts off all bright mantras, liberates from bonds, keeps away untimely death, worries, evil dreams. It destroys eighty-four thousand demons and the eight planets. It can also cause the twenty-eight constellations to generate great joy. It can also turn back all enemies and all those who generate poison. And all evil dreams are made to disappear. It can also save from difficulties such as poison, weapons, water, and fire.

Invincible great power, violent and evil great mother, blazing and flourishing majestic light mother, white umbrella great power mother, flame garland white-clad mother, Tārā (Tara, the savioress) with a frowning face, garlanded victorious Vajra, lotus-like Vajra form, possessing a garland, unopposed, Vajra wall destroying mother, all good gods revere, auspicious appearance great majestic light, saving great power mother, Vajra pegs and so on, Vajra child holding seed, holding a club, seed of golden garland, ochre-colored jewel mother, bright Vajra garland, slender mother holding a club, eyes like golden light mother, Vajra torch white mother, lotus sun and moon light.

May all the mudras and assemblies protect me, may they protect me.

May you protect me, may you protect me, Bhagavati (世尊, The Blessed One), the Buddha-uṣṇīṣa-sitātapatrā-vajra-śikhara-parādangīra-mātā (傘蓋母, Umbrella Mother) with a thousand hands and a thousand arms, having hundreds of thousands of koṭis (千萬, ten million) of eyes, the non-dual blazing form, the Vajra Great Mother, who has great freedom within the three realms, may you protect me, may you protect me.

Oṃ, fear of the king, fear of thieves, fear of fire, fear of water, fear of poison, fear of weapons, fear of invading armies, fear of famine, fear of injustice, fear of disease, fear of thunderbolts, fear of untimely death, fear of earthquakes, fear of shooting stars, fear of prison, fear of gods, fear of dragons, fear of lightning, fear of flying in the sky, fear of evil beasts. Moreover, there are celestial demons, dragon demons, non-celestial demons, wind god demons, flying demons, gandharva (尋香) demons, human and non-human demons, big-bellied demons, obstacle-giving demons, Rakshasa (羅剎) demons, hungry ghost demons, ḍākinī (空行母) demons, flesh-eating demons, bhūta ( भूत, ghost) demons, pot-bellied demons, stinking ghost demons, strangely stinking ghost demons, Skanda demons, forgetful demons, mad demons, Māra demons, subjugating demons, ṛbhi demons. May all such beings and the mantras created by various ghosts and spirits be completely cut off and nailed down with the Vajra Kilaya. May the mantras created by the Sarvaga (one who travels everywhere) be completely cut off and nailed down with the Vajra Kilaya. May the mantras created by the Dakinis (female sky dancers) and Dakini's consorts be completely cut off and nailed down with the Vajra Kilaya. May the Great White Umbrella Vajra Crown protect me. Twelve Yojana (ancient Indian unit of length) form a Vajra realm. All Bhutas, corpse raising ghosts, Dakinis, etc., as well as ghost fevers, sores, scabies, ringworm, leprosy, fistulas, epilepsy, carbuncles, ulcers, itching, boils, dryness, wind fright, treasure poison, insect poison, curses, water and fire, resentment, enemies causing trouble, untimely violent death. 若人持此佛頂大白傘蓋般啰(二合)當雞啰母陀羅尼經者。不梵行者亦成梵行。不持戒者亦成持戒。不清凈者亦成清凈。不布薩者亦成布薩。不清齋者亦成清齋。若有五無間罪及無始來所有宿殃。舊業陳罪盡滅無餘。

若有女人設欲求男。能受持斯佛頂大白傘蓋般啰(二合)當雞啰母陀羅尼經者。便生智慧之男。福德壽命色力圓滿。命終之後隨得往生極樂國土。

若遭人病孳畜病疫癘惱害斗諍逼迫他兵侵擾一切厄難。賚此佛頂大白傘蓋無有能敵。般啰(二合)當雞啰母陀羅尼。系幢頂上廣伸供養作大佛事。奉迎斯咒安城四門。或諸聚落都邑村野。禮拜恭敬一心供養。所有兵陣隨即消滅。疫癘諸病惱害

Or wears it on the body, or hangs it around the neck. It should be known that this person will not be harmed by poison throughout their life. And all kinds of weapons, water, fire, poison of treasures, gu poison, and curses cannot harm them. There will also be no accidental disasters. All ghosts and demons, upon seeing this person, will be filled with joy. There will be eighty-four thousand Vajra (Vajra, diamond thunderbolt) divisions, filled with great joy, constantly protecting them. Within eighty-four thousand great kalpas (kalpa, an aeon), they will be able to obtain knowledge of past lives. If a person upholds this 'Buddha-Top Great White Umbrella Parra (Parra) Dangjila (Dangjila) Dharani Sutra', one who does not practice Brahmacharya (Brahmacharya, celibacy) will also achieve Brahmacharya, one who does not uphold precepts will also uphold precepts, one who is not pure will also become pure, one who does not observe Uposatha (Uposatha, day of fasting) will also observe Uposatha, and one who does not observe pure fasting will also observe pure fasting. If there are the five heinous crimes and all the karmic calamities from beginningless time, past sins will be completely eradicated.

If a woman desires to pray for the birth of a son, and is able to uphold this 'Buddha-Top Great White Umbrella Parra (Parra) Dangjila (Dangjila) Dharani Sutra', she will give birth to a son of wisdom, with complete merit, lifespan, appearance, and strength. After death, she can be reborn in the Land of Ultimate Bliss according to her wishes.

If people are suffering from illness, livestock are sick, there is an epidemic, or they are troubled by disasters, conflicts, or invasions by foreign troops, carrying this 'Buddha-Top Great White Umbrella Unsurpassable Parra (Parra) Dangjila (Dangjila) Dharani', hanging it on the top of banners, making extensive offerings, and holding grand Buddhist ceremonies. Respectfully welcoming this mantra, placing it at the four gates of the city, or in various villages, towns, and fields. Bowing respectfully and making offerings with one mind. All enemy formations will immediately be destroyed, and the harm from epidemics and various diseases will be eliminated.
