如是我聞。一時佛在摩伽陀國無垢園中寶光明池。與大菩薩及大聲聞天龍藥叉犍闥婆訶蘇羅迦樓羅緊那羅摩睺羅伽人非人等無量百千。前後圍繞。爾時眾中有一大婆羅門名無垢妙光多聞聰慧人所樂見。常行十善歸信三寶。善心殷重智慧微細。常恒欲令一切眾生。圓滿善利大富豐饒。時婆羅門無垢妙光從座而起。往詣佛所繞佛七匝。以眾香華奉獻世尊。無價妙衣瓔珞珠鬘持覆佛上。頂禮雙足卻住一面作是請言。唯愿世尊與諸大眾。明日晨朝至我宅中受我供養。爾時世尊默然許之。時婆羅門知佛受請。遽還所住。即于夜間廣辦肴膳百味飲食。灑掃殿宇張施幡蓋。至明旦己與諸眷屬。持眾香華及諸妓樂。至如來所白言時至。愿垂降臨。爾時世尊軟語。安慰彼婆羅門無垢妙光。遍告大眾宣言。汝等皆應往彼婆羅門家攝受供養。為欲令彼獲大利故。於時世尊即從座起。才起座已。從佛身出種種光明。間錯妙色照觸十方。悉皆警覺然後趣道。時婆羅門以恭敬心持妙香華。與諸眷屬及天龍八部釋梵

Thus have I heard: At one time, the Buddha was in the Immaculate Garden in the country of Magadha (摩伽陀國), at the Jeweled Light Pond. He was surrounded by limitless hundreds of thousands of great Bodhisattvas, great Śrāvakas, Devas, Nāgas, Yakṣas (藥叉), Gandharvas (犍闥婆), Asuras (阿修羅), Garuḍas (迦樓羅), Kinnaras (緊那羅), Mahoragas (摩睺羅伽), humans, non-humans, and others. At that time, among the assembly was a great Brahmin named Immaculate Wonderful Light, who was learned, wise, and pleasing to behold. He constantly practiced the ten virtues, took refuge in the Three Jewels, had a kind and earnest heart, and subtle wisdom. He constantly desired to enable all sentient beings to perfectly obtain good benefits, and become greatly wealthy and abundant. At that time, the Brahmin Immaculate Wonderful Light arose from his seat, went to where the Buddha was, circumambulated the Buddha seven times, and offered various incense and flowers to the World-Honored One. He held priceless wonderful garments, necklaces, and jeweled garlands to cover the Buddha, prostrated at the Buddha's feet, and stood to one side, making this request: 'May the World-Honored One and the great assembly, tomorrow morning, come to my home to receive my offerings.' At that time, the World-Honored One silently assented. At that time, the Brahmin, knowing that the Buddha had accepted his invitation, hurriedly returned to his residence. Immediately during the night, he extensively prepared delicious delicacies and hundreds of flavors of food, swept and cleaned the halls, and hung banners and canopies. At dawn, he and his family members, holding various incense and flowers and various musical instruments, went to where the Tathāgata was and reported, 'The time has arrived, may you condescend to descend.' At that time, the World-Honored One used gentle words to comfort the Brahmin Immaculate Wonderful Light, and announced to the great assembly, 'You should all go to the Brahmin's home to receive his offerings, for the sake of enabling him to obtain great benefits.' At that time, the World-Honored One immediately arose from his seat. As soon as he arose from his seat, various kinds of light emanated from the Buddha's body, interspersed with wonderful colors, illuminating the ten directions, causing all sentient beings to be alerted, and then he proceeded towards the road to the Brahmin's home. At that time, the World-Honored One was not far along the road when he arrived at a garden called Abundant Wealth. In that garden, there was an ancient and dilapidated stupa, which had been destroyed and collapsed, with thorns covering the courtyard, vines sealing the doors, and tiles buried, resembling a mound of earth. At that time, the World-Honored One went directly to the place where the stupa was located. Then, the stupa emitted great light, shining brightly. From the mound of earth, a voice praised: 'Excellent! Excellent! Sakyamuni, what you do today is an extremely good deed.' And to the Brahmana, it said: 'Today you have obtained great merit.' At that time, the World-Honored One bowed to that dilapidated stupa, circumambulated it three times to the right, took off his clothes and covered it, weeping profusely, with tears and blood mingling, and after weeping, he smiled. At that time, all the Buddhas of the ten directions watched together and also shed tears, each emitting light to illuminate the stupa. At that time, the assembly was astonished and changed color, wanting to resolve their doubts. At that time, Vajrapani and others also shed tears, their majestic flames blazing, holding a vajra and rotating it, going to the Buddha and reporting: 'World-Honored One, what is the cause of this, that such a light appears? Why do the eyes of the Tathagata shed tears so much? And the Buddhas of the ten directions also manifest such great auspicious light? May the Tathagata explain our doubts to the assembly.' Then, the Bhagavan told Vajrapani: 'This is the Tathagata's precious stupa, a collection of the entire body's relics, and the secret essential Dharma of all the Tathagatas' immeasurable kotis (koti, ten million) of heart dharanis (dharani, total retention) are within it. Vajrapani, because this Dharma is in this stupa, the stupa becomes overlapping without gaps, like sesame seeds. Know that this is also the body of kotis of hundreds of thousands of Tathagatas, like sesame seeds. This is the gathering place of hundreds of thousands of kotis of the entire body relics of the Tathagatas, and even the eighty-four thousand Dharmas are within it, and the ninety-nine hundred thousand kotis of the Tathagatas' crown are also within it. Because of these wonderful things, the place where this stupa is located has great spiritual efficacy and extraordinary power, and can fulfill all the auspiciousness of the world.' At that time, when the assembly heard these words of the Buddha, they were far from dust and defilement, cut off all afflictions, and obtained the pure Dharma eye. At that time, the faculties of the beings were different, and the benefits they obtained were also different. Some attained the Sotapanna fruit, some attained the Sakadagamin fruit, some attained the Anagamin fruit, some attained the Arhat fruit, some attained the Pratyekabuddha path, as well as the Bodhisattva path, Avaivartika (non-retrogression), and Sarvajna (all-knowing wisdom).
如是事各得其一。或有證得初地二地乃至十地。或有滿足六波羅蜜。其婆羅門遠塵離垢得五神通。時金剛手見此奇特希有之事。白言世尊妙哉奇異。但聞此事尚獲如是殊勝功德況聞深理至心起信得幾功德。佛言諦聽汝金剛手。後世若有信男信女及復我等四部弟子。發心書寫此一經典。即準書寫九十九百千萬俱胝如來所說一切經典。即過於彼九十九百千萬俱胝如來之前久植善根。即亦彼諸一切如來。加持護念猶如愛眼。亦如慈母愛護幼子。若人讀誦此一卷經。即為讀誦過去現在未來諸佛所說經典。由如是故。九十九百千萬俱胝一切如來應正等覺。側塞無隙猶如胡麻重疊赴來。晝夜現身加持其人。如是一切諸佛如來無數恒沙。前聚未去後群重來須臾推遷回轉更赴。譬如細沙在水旋急。不得停滯回去復來。若有人以香華涂香華鬘衣服微妙嚴具供養此經。即成於彼十方九十九百千萬俱胝如來之前。以天香華衣服嚴具七寶所成。積如須彌盡以供養。種植善根亦復如是。爾時天龍八部人非人等聞是說已。各懷希奇互相謂言。奇哉威德是朽土聚。如來神力所加持故有是神變。金剛手復白佛言。世尊何因緣故。是七寶塔現為土聚。佛告金剛手。此非土聚乃是殊妙大寶塔耳。由諸眾生業果劣故隱蔽不現。由塔隱故如來全身非可毀壞。豈有

Some fulfill the six Paramitas (perfections: generosity, morality, patience, diligence, concentration, and wisdom). That Brahmin, far from dust and defilement, attains the five supernormal powers (divine eye, divine ear, knowledge of others' minds, recollection of past lives, and magical powers). At that time, Vajrapani (a Buddhist protector deity), seeing this extraordinary and rare event, said to the Buddha: 'World Honored One, how wonderful and extraordinary! Just hearing of this matter still obtains such supreme merit; how much more merit will be obtained by hearing the profound principles and sincerely generating faith?' The Buddha said: 'Listen carefully, Vajrapani. In later ages, if there are faithful men and women, as well as my fourfold assembly (bhikshus, bhikshunis, upasakas, and upasikas), who resolve to write this one sutra, it is equivalent to writing all the sutras spoken by ninety-nine hundred thousand kotis (extremely large number) of Tathagatas (Buddhas). This surpasses planting good roots for a long time before those ninety-nine hundred thousand kotis of Tathagatas. It is also as if all those Tathagatas bless and protect this person, like cherishing their own eyes, and like a loving mother cherishing her young child.' 'If someone recites this one scroll of scripture, it is equivalent to reciting the scriptures spoken by the Buddhas of the past, present, and future. Because of this reason, ninety-nine hundred thousand kotis of all Tathagatas, worthy of perfect enlightenment, crowd together without any gaps, like sesame seeds piled upon each other, appearing day and night to bless that person. Like all those Buddhas and Tathagatas, countless as the sands of the Ganges, the front group has not left, and the rear group comes again, momentarily shifting and returning again. It is like fine sand swirling rapidly in water, unable to stop, going back and forth.' 'If someone uses incense, flowers, scented paste, flower garlands, clothing, and subtle adornments to make offerings to this sutra, it is equivalent to making offerings before those ninety-nine hundred thousand kotis of Tathagatas in the ten directions, using heavenly incense, flowers, clothing, adornments, and objects made of the seven treasures, piled up as high as Mount Sumeru (a sacred mountain in Buddhism), offering them completely, and planting good roots in the same way.' At that time, the eight classes of gods and dragons (eight types of supernatural beings in Buddhism), as well as humans and non-humans, upon hearing these words, each with a feeling of wonder, said to each other: 'How wondrous! This decaying pile of earth, because of the blessing of the Tathagata's divine power, has such miraculous transformations.' Vajrapani again said to the Buddha: 'World Honored One, for what reason does this seven-jeweled stupa (a tower made of seven precious materials) now appear as a pile of earth?' The Buddha told Vajrapani: 'This is not a pile of earth, but a supremely wonderful great treasure stupa! Because of the inferior karmic results of sentient beings, it is hidden and does not appear. Because the stupa is hidden, the entire body of the Tathagata is indestructible; how could it be?'
如來金剛藏身而可壞哉。我若滅度後世末法逼迫之時。若有眾生習行非法應墮地獄。不信三寶不植善根。為是因緣佛法當隱。然猶是塔堅固不滅。一切如來神力所持。無智眾生惑障覆蔽。徒朽珍寶不知採用。以是事故我今流淚。彼諸如來亦皆流淚。複次佛告金剛手言。若有眾生書寫此經置塔中者。是塔即為一切如來金剛藏窣都婆。亦為一切如來陀羅尼心秘密加持窣都婆。即為九十九百千萬俱胝如來窣都婆。亦為一切如來佛頂佛眼窣都婆。即為一切如來神力所護。若佛像中窣都婆中安置此經。其像即為七寶所成靈驗應心無愿不滿。其窣都婆傘蓋羅網輪橖露盤。德字鈴鐸楹礎基階隨力所辦。或土或木若石若磚。由經威力自為七寶。一切如來於此經典加其威力。以誠實言不斷加持。若有有情能於此塔。一香一華禮拜供養。八十億劫生死重罪一時消滅。生免災殃死生佛家。若有應墮阿鼻地獄。若於此塔。或一禮拜。或一右繞。塞地獄門開菩提路。塔及形像所在之處。一切如來神力所護。其處不為暴風雷電霹靂所害。不為毒蛇蚖蝮毒蟲毒獸所傷。不為師子狂象虎狼野干蜂蠆之所傷害。亦無藥叉羅剎部多那毗舍。遮魑魅魍魎癲癇之怖。亦復不為一切寒熱諸病。疬瘺癰疽瘡疣疥癩所染。若人暫見是塔能除一切災難。其處亦無人馬六畜

If, after my Parinirvana (extinction), during the time of the decline of Dharma (Buddhist law), there are sentient beings who practice unlawful deeds and should fall into hell, who do not believe in the Three Jewels (Buddha, Dharma, Sangha) and do not plant roots of goodness, because of these causes, the Buddha-dharma will be hidden. Yet this stupa (Stupa, Buddhist monument) remains firm and indestructible, upheld by the divine power of all the Tathagatas. Ignorant beings are covered by delusion and karmic obstacles, letting treasures decay in vain, not knowing how to use them. For this reason, I now weep, and all those Tathagatas also weep. Furthermore, the Buddha said to Vajrapani (Vajrapani, a Buddhist guardian deity): 'If there are sentient beings who write this sutra and place it in a stupa, that stupa will become the Vajra-essence stupa of all the Tathagatas, and also the secret empowerment stupa of the Dharani (Dharani, a type of mantra) heart of all the Tathagatas, that is, the stupa of ninety-nine hundred thousand Koti (Koti, an Indian numerical unit meaning ten million) Tathagatas, and also the stupa of the Buddha-crown and Buddha-eye of all the Tathagatas, that is, protected by the divine power of all the Tathagatas. If this sutra is placed in a Buddha image or in a stupa, that image will be made of the seven treasures, efficacious and responsive, with no wish unfulfilled. The umbrella, netting, wheel-support, dew-plate of that stupa, as well as the auspicious inscriptions, bells, pillar-bases, and foundation steps, are made according to one's ability, whether of earth, wood, stone, or brick, by the power of the sutra, they will naturally become the seven treasures. All the Tathagatas add their power to this sutra, constantly empowering it with truthful words. If there are sentient beings who can offer incense and flowers to this stupa with reverence, the heavy sins of eighty billion kalpas (aeons) of birth and death will be eliminated at once, avoiding disasters in life and being born into the Buddha's family after death. If someone should fall into Avici (Avici, the most painful of the eight great hells) hell, if they bow once or circumambulate this stupa to the right, they can block the gates of hell and open the path to Bodhi (enlightenment). Wherever the stupa and images are located, they are protected by the divine power of all the Tathagatas. That place will not be harmed by storms, lightning, or thunderbolts, nor by poisonous snakes, vipers, poisonous insects, or poisonous beasts, nor by lions, mad elephants, tigers, wolves, jackals, bees, or scorpions, nor will there be fear of Yakshas (Yaksa, a type of spirit), Rakshasas (Rakshasa, a demon), Bhutas (Bhuta, भूत, a ghost), Pisacas (Pisaca, a flesh-eating demon), goblins, demons, epilepsy, nor will they be infected by all kinds of cold and heat diseases, scrofula, carbuncles, sores, warts, scabies, or leprosy. If a person temporarily sees this stupa, they can eliminate all disasters, and that place will be free from plagues of humans, horses, and livestock.'

At that time, after the Buddha finished reciting this divine mantra, all the Buddhas and Tathagatas emitted voices from the earth mounds, praising: 'Excellent! Excellent! Shakyamuni World-Honored One, you have appeared in this defiled and evil world to benefit those helpless and defenseless beings, expounding such profound Dharma. Such Dharma essence should abide in the world for a long time, benefiting vast numbers of beings, enabling them to attain peace and happiness.' At that time, the Buddha told Vajrapani Bodhisattva: 'Listen carefully, listen carefully, such Dharma essence possesses infinite divine power and boundless benefits. It is like a wish-fulfilling jewel on a treasure banner, constantly raining down precious treasures, fulfilling all wishes. I am now only briefly describing one ten-thousandth of its benefits; you should firmly remember it in your heart, benefiting all beings. If there is someone who commits evil deeds and falls into hell after death, enduring the suffering of Avici Hell without any hope of liberation, if their descendants recite the name of the deceased and chant this divine mantra, even just seven times, then the molten copper and hot iron will suddenly transform into pools of eight merits, lotus flowers will support their feet, and jeweled canopies will shelter their heads. The gates of hell will be shattered, and the path to Bodhi will be opened. That lotus flower will fly to the Land of Ultimate Bliss, and all-knowing wisdom will naturally manifest, enabling them to endlessly expound the Dharma, and they will be ranked among the Bodhisattvas awaiting Buddhahood.' If there are also beings who, due to the heavy karmic debts of their past deeds, suffer from hundreds of diseases afflicting their bodies and pain oppressing their minds, reciting this divine mantra twenty-one times will cause all diseases and afflictions to vanish instantly, prolonging their lifespan and bringing endless blessings. If there is also someone who, due to the karmic force of stinginess and greed, is born into a poor family, with clothes insufficient to cover their body and food insufficient to sustain their life, appearing emaciated and despised by others, this person, feeling ashamed, enters the mountains, gathers ownerless wildflowers, or grinds decayed wood to use as incense, goes to the pagoda to prostrate and make offerings, circumambulates the pagoda seven times, and repents of their sins with tears. Due to the power of the divine mantra and the virtue of the pagoda, the retribution of poverty will be extinguished, and wealth and honor will suddenly descend, with seven treasures raining down like rain, lacking nothing. Vajrapani (Vajrapani, a Dharma protector in Buddhism) said, 'Today, I am fortunate to receive the World Honored One's entrustment. I only wish that we, in order to repay the World Honored One's profound kindness, would protect, propagate, and proclaim them day and night in all the worlds. If there are sentient beings who write, uphold, and constantly remember them, we will command Sakra (Śakra, also known as Indra), Brahma (Brahmā), the Four Great Kings (Caturmahārājakayikas), the Nagas (Nāga), and the eight classes of beings to guard and protect them day and night, without ever leaving them.'
