南無佛陀耶 南無達摩耶 南無僧伽耶 我禮佛世尊 照世大法王 在於閻浮提 最初說神咒 甘露凈勝法 及禮無著僧 已禮牟尼足 即時說偈言 世尊諸如來 聲聞及辟支 諸仙護世王 大力龍天神 如是等諸眾 皆於人中生 有夜叉羅剎 常喜啖人胎 非人王境界 強力所不制 能令人無子 傷害於胞胎 男女交會時 使其意迷亂 懷任不成就 或歌羅安浮 無子以傷胎 及生時奪命 皆是諸惡鬼 為其作嬈害 我今說彼名 愿佛聽我說

【English Translation】 English version The Buddha Speaks of the Dharani for Protecting Children Sutra
Translated by Tripitaka Master Bodhiruci from Tianzhu (India) during the Yuan Wei Dynasty
At that time, when the Tathagata (Tathagata, one of the titles of the Buddha) had just attained perfect enlightenment, a Great Brahma King came to the Buddha's place, respectfully prostrated at the Buddha's feet, and said:
'Namo Buddhaya (Homage to the Buddha)! Namo Dharmaya (Homage to the Dharma)! Namo Sanghaya (Homage to the Sangha)! I pay homage to the World Honored One, the Great Dharma King who illuminates the world, who first spoke the divine mantra in Jambudvipa (Jambudvipa, the world we live in), which is like nectar, pure and supreme. I also pay homage to the Sangha free from attachments, and have already paid homage to the feet of Muni (Muni, referring to the Buddha).'
Immediately, he spoke in verse, saying: 'World Honored One, all the Tathagatas, Sravakas (Sravaka, Hearers), Pratyekabuddhas (Pratyekabuddha, Solitary Buddhas), all the immortals, the kings who protect the world, the mighty Dragon Gods, all these beings are born among humans. There are Yakshas (Yaksa, a type of spirit) and Rakshasas (Rakshasa, a type of demon) who often like to devour human fetuses. They are not under the jurisdiction of non-human kings, and powerful forces cannot subdue them. They can cause people to have no children, harm the fetus, and when men and women engage in intercourse, they confuse their minds, causing pregnancy to fail, or cause the fetus to become Kalala (Kalala, the initial form of a fertilized egg), resulting in no children or harming the fetus, and taking lives at birth. All these are done by evil ghosts, who create various disturbances. Now I will speak their names, may the Buddha listen to me.'
'The first is named Micoujia, the second is named Migawang, the third is named Qianto, the fourth is named Apasimoluo, the fifth is named Mouzhijia, the sixth is named Mozhijia, the seventh is named Yanmijia, the eighth is named Jiamini, the ninth is named Libochi, the tenth is named Fuduona, the eleventh is named Manduonanti, the twelfth is named Shejiuni, the thirteenth is named Qiantapannini, the fourteenth is named Muqiamantu, the fifteenth is named Lanpo.'

Muktika (牟致迦) ghost has the form of a macaque.
Maghika (魔致迦) ghost has the form of a Rakshasi (羅剎女).
Yamyika (閻彌迦) ghost has the form of a horse.
Kamini (迦彌尼) ghost has the form of a woman.
Revati (黎婆坻) ghost has the form of a dog.

When the Migara (彌迦王) ghost possesses a child, the child vomits frequently.
When the Skanda (騫陀) ghost possesses a child, the child's shoulders shake.
When the Apasmara (阿波悉魔羅) ghost possesses a child, foam comes out of the child's mouth.
When the Muktika (牟致迦) ghost possesses a child, the child's hands are clenched and cannot be opened.
When the Maghika (魔致迦) ghost possesses a child, the child bites their own tongue.
When the Yamyika (閻彌迦) ghost possesses a child, the child cries and laughs for no reason.
When the Kamini (迦彌尼) ghost possesses a child, the child likes to be near women.
When the Revati (黎婆坻) ghost possesses a child, the child sees various strange appearances.
When the Putana (富多那) ghost possesses a child, the child is frightened and cries in their sleep.

此十五鬼神。以如是等形。怖諸小兒。及其小兒驚怖之相。我皆已說。復有大鬼神王。名栴檀乾闥婆于諸鬼神最為上首。當以五色綖。誦此陀羅尼一遍一結。作一百八結。並書其鬼神名字。使人赍此書綖。語彼使言。汝今疾去急速如風到於四方。隨彼十五鬼神所住之處。與栴檀乾闥婆大鬼神王。令以五色線縛彼鬼神勿嬈眾生。兼以種種美味飲食香華燈明。及以乳粥供養神王。
爾時。大梵天王。復白佛言。世尊若有女人不生男女。或在胎中失壞墮落。或生已奪命。此諸女等欲求子息保命長壽者。常當繫念修行善法。于月八日十五日受持八戒。清凈洗浴著新凈衣。禮十方佛至於中夜。取少芥子置已頂上。誦我所說陀羅尼咒者。令此女人即得如願。所生童子安隱無患。盡其形壽終不中夭。若有鬼神不順我咒者。我當令其頭破作七分如阿梨樹枝。即說護諸童子陀羅尼咒。

【English Translation】 English version Diarrhea.
The Lamba ghost (Lamba, name of a ghost) possesses children, causing them to count, hiccup, and vomit.
These fifteen ghosts, in various forms, frighten children. I have described these ghosts and the appearances of frightened children. There is also a great ghost king named Chandana Gandharva (Chandana Gandharva, a celestial being), who is the highest among all ghosts. One should use five-colored threads, making a knot for each recitation of this Dharani, totaling one hundred and eight knots, and write down the names of these ghosts. Have someone carry the thread with the names written on it, and tell the messengers of those ghosts: 'Go quickly like the wind to the four directions, find the places where those fifteen ghosts reside, and convey the words of the great ghost king Chandana Gandharva, binding those ghosts with the five-colored threads, preventing them from disturbing sentient beings.' At the same time, offer various delicious foods, incense, flowers, lamps, and milk porridge to the divine king.
At that time, the Great Brahma King (Mahābrahmā, lord of the Form Realm) said to the Buddha: 'World Honored One, if there are women who cannot conceive, or whose fetuses are miscarried in the womb, or who give birth to children who die young, these women who desire to have children, protect their lives, and live long lives, should constantly focus their minds on cultivating good deeds, observe the eight precepts on the eighth and fifteenth days of each month, bathe cleanly, wear new and clean clothes, and prostrate to the Buddhas of the ten directions until midnight. Then, take a small amount of mustard seeds and place them on their heads, reciting the Dharani mantra I speak, so that these women will have their wishes fulfilled, and the children they bear will be safe and healthy, living out their full lifespan without dying prematurely. If any ghost does not obey my mantra, I will cause its head to split into seven pieces like the branches of an Arali tree.' Then, the Great Brahma King spoke the Dharani mantra to protect children:
'Tadyatha Agarā Gamin Naga Gamin Varoli Cili Gavali Vari Buri Rakshani Surabhi Carabhi Sani Paraha Sani Nayi Minayi Svaha'
World Honored One, I now speak this Dharani mantra to protect children, so that they may obtain peace and longevity.
At that time, the World Honored One, the All-Knowing (Sarvajna, title of the Buddha, meaning one who possesses all wisdom), spoke the mantra:
'Tadyatha Buddha'
陀菩陀 菩陀㝹摩帝 菩提菩提 摩隸 式叉夜 婆舍利 婆多禰 婆羅陀 頭隸 頭隸 婆臘多頭隸 舍摩膩 收隸 婆呵膩 陀波膩 穌婆呵 膩婆羅膩 穌婆呵
此十五鬼神常食血肉。以此陀羅尼咒力故。悉皆遠離不生噁心。令諸童子離於恐怖安隱無患。處胎初生無諸患難。誦此咒者。或於城邑聚落隨其住處。亦能令彼嬰孩小兒。長得安隱終保年壽。南無佛陀成就此咒。護諸童子不為諸惡鬼神之所嬈害。一切諸難一切恐怖。悉皆遠離穌婆呵。時此梵天聞說此經歡欣奉行。

Homage to the Buddha, who accomplishes this mantra, protects all children from being harassed and harmed by all evil ghosts and spirits, and all disasters and all terrors are completely removed. Auspicious completion. At that time, Brahma, upon hearing this sutra, joyfully accepted and practiced it.
