如是我聞。一時佛在舍衛國祇陀林中。爾時有一外道栴陀羅女。厭惑尊者阿難即時如來見阿難恍惚。為說六字咒王經。先佛所說我今亦說。即說咒曰。

【English Translation】 English version Thus have I heard. At one time, the Buddha was in Jeta's Grove in Sravasti (Savatthi). At that time, there was a female heretic of the Candala (Candala, meaning outcast) caste who was infatuated with the venerable Ananda (Ananda, meaning bliss). Thereupon, the Tathagata (Tathagata, meaning 'one who has thus come') saw that Ananda was bewildered and spoke the Six-Syllable Mantra King Sutra for him. What the Buddhas of the past have spoken, I now also speak. 【English Translation】 English version: If a curse is cast within the city gate, let it be extinguished within the city gate. If it is cast within the palace, let it be extinguished within the palace. If it is cast within the palace gate, let it be extinguished within the palace gate. If it is cast on the road, let it be extinguished on the road. If it is cast on the crossroads, let it be extinguished on the crossroads. If it is cast against a Brahman (Brahman, a Hindu priest), let all of it be extinguished. If it is cast in the water, let it be extinguished in the water. If it is cast by the water's edge, let it be extinguished by the water's edge. If it is cast by the riverbank, let it be extinguished by the riverbank. If it is cast in the home, let it be extinguished in the home. If it is cast by the tree, let it be extinguished by the tree. Why? Because there is nothing in the world superior to the Buddha (Buddha, the enlightened one). Respected by humans and gods, revered by all ghosts. If there is anyone practicing evil curses, whether they have already done it, or will do it, or are doing it in between, whether it is accomplished or not yet accomplished, let all of it be extinguished. And all poisons that can harm people, this Six-Syllable Mantra King Sutra can extinguish them all. Then the mantra is spoken: Kha-ji Kha-zhu Kha-bi-ji Jian-shou Jian-shou Duo-ji Po-ji If an evil curse is cast against a certain person (a certain person, referring to someone), whether it has already been done or will be done. Whether by a Deva (Deva, a god), or a Naga (Naga, a dragon god), or a Yaksa (Yaksa, a type of guardian deity), or a Rakshasa (Rakshasa, a type of evil ghost), and all who can cast evil curses, let all of it be extinguished. 何以故僧是世間最上福田。人天所敬眾鬼守護。即說咒曰。

若有為某甲作惡咒詛。若和合毒藥皆悉滅之。即說咒曰。

摩休婆 烏摩帝 烏摩陀 蓰陀禰 佉歐陀 波提蓰陀禰 頻頭摩提 至帝至多 波提蓰陀禰 阿渒栴陀渒 呵呵遮利 呵呵那彌 呵呵浮摩提 呵呵浮陀尼劬沙 呵呵尼呵陀 佉歐陀 尼毗沙 佉歐陀 伊禰彌禰 陀陀弊莎訶

若有人讀持此六字大咒王經。假使咒枯樹可得還生枝葉。何況人身。使某甲得壽百歲得見百秋。諸佛所說阿難所傳。若人讀誦通利。悉皆自護眾惡不著身。若咒他者能除彼患。誦者斷五辛至心鮮潔。然後乃能行之南無觀世音菩薩摩訶薩。禮彼大士然後說此神咒。愿此神咒常吉。觀世音照我身觀我身憐愍我故。即說咒曰。

【English Translation】 English version Ro. May all the deeds done by Putana (a type of evil spirit) be extinguished, all evils be ended, and all good be replenished. May this mantra always be auspicious. By this true verse, may so-and-so (a placeholder for the person receiving the blessing) have peace during the day, peace during the night, and constant peace day and night, attain a lifespan of one hundred years, and see one hundred autumns. Why? Because in this world, there is no higher Dharma than the Buddha Dharma, which is respected by humans and devas, and revered by all ghosts, free from desire and without attachment. Thus, the mantra is spoken: Kha-ji, Kha-zhu, Kha-pi-ji, Qian-shou Qian-shou, Duo-ji, Po-ji. Why? Because the Sangha (the monastic community) is the supreme field of merit in the world, respected by humans and devas, and guarded by all ghosts. Thus, the mantra is spoken: Kha-ji, Kha-zhu, Kha-pi-ji, Qian-shou Qian-shou, Duo-ji, Po-ji, Xing-di, A-mi-di, A-zhou-di. If anyone performs evil curses or uses poison against so-and-so, may they all be extinguished. Thus, the mantra is spoken: Mo-xiu-po, Wu-mo-di, Wu-mo-tuo, Xi-tuo-ni, Qie-ou-tuo, Bo-ti-xi-tuo-ni, Pin-tou-mo-ti, Zhi-di Zhi-duo, Bo-ti-xi-tuo-ni, A-pi-zhan-tuo-pi, He-he-zhe-li, He-he-na-mi, He-he-fu-mo-ti, He-he-fu-tuo-ni-qu-sha, He-he-ni-he-tuo, Qie-ou-tuo, Ni-pi-sha, Qie-ou-tuo, Yi-ni-mi-ni, Tuo-tuo-bi Suo-ha. If anyone reads and upholds this Six-Syllable Great Mantra King Sutra, even if a withered tree is cursed, it can still sprout branches and leaves, how much more so a human body. May so-and-so attain a lifespan of one hundred years and see one hundred autumns. This is what the Buddhas have spoken and Ananda (one of the ten principal disciples of the Buddha) has transmitted. If anyone reads and understands it thoroughly, they can protect themselves, and all evils will not cling to them. If the mantra is used to bless others, it can eliminate their suffering. The one who recites the mantra must abstain from the five pungent spices and be sincere and pure before practicing it. Namo Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva Mahāsattva (Homage to the great Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara). Pay homage to that great being, and then speak this divine mantra. May this divine mantra always be auspicious. Avalokiteśvara illuminates my body, observes my body, and has compassion on me. Thus, the mantra is spoken: Wu-he-ni, Xu-he-ni, A-tuo-ni-he-tuo-she-pi-ni, Tan-pi-ni, An-tuo-li, Ban-tuo-li, Si-bi-ti, Ban-tuo-luo, Bo-si-ni, Sa-lu-tou-lu.


吒婆啰豆率 吒質耽 阇婆夜 耽呵夜 須呵夜 尼婆羅夜 耶婆某羅提 那某遮提 盧婁至吒 般陀死 盧婁盧 漏至吒 般陀死 悉波呵 和𨢘利知 利收利 摩登耆 栴陀利羅叉羅叉羅耶 悉波呵

此咒護一切厄。鮮凈無垢解脫。光明觀照縛一切賊。迷荒一切惡護身縛賊。虎狼師子狂象及豺悉皆被縛。我某甲及共行同伴。一切咒力所向之處愿當平吉。南無觀世音菩薩。愿此咒大吉。用此咒法當持之日。不食五辛凈潔洗浴。不得行淫不得飲酒啖肉。以白疊綖手捉誦咒七遍一遍一結。若有官事被言。若斗諍若咒詛。及一切惡皆能滅之。咒訖此綖繫著其人衣帶頭過事主自解之。

南無過去未來現在三世諸佛。南無文殊師利普賢彌勒一切諸大菩薩。歸依如是等菩薩摩訶薩眾。然後說此大神陀羅尼咒。即說咒曰。

此咒能守護一切災厄。鮮明潔凈沒有瑕疵,能夠解除束縛。光明觀照能夠束縛一切盜賊。使一切邪惡迷惑而無所施為,保護自身並束縛盜賊。老虎、狼、獅子、狂象以及豺狼,全部都被此咒所束縛。我某甲以及一同前行的同伴,一切咒力所到達的地方,愿都能平安吉祥。頂禮觀世音菩薩。愿此咒語帶來巨大的吉祥。使用此咒的方法是,在持咒的當天,不吃五辛,保持身體潔凈並洗浴。不得行淫,不得飲酒吃肉。用白色的疊綖,用手拿著誦咒七遍,每誦一遍打一個結。如果遇到官司訴訟,或者爭鬥,或者被詛咒,以及一切邪惡,都能用此咒滅除。誦咒完畢后,將此綖繫在那個人的衣帶上,事情結束后,當事人自己解開。

頂禮過去、未來、現在三世一切諸佛。頂禮文殊師利 (Wénshū shīlì) 菩薩、普賢 (Pǔxián) 菩薩、彌勒 (Mílè) 菩薩以及一切諸大菩薩。歸依如是等等菩薩摩訶薩眾。然後宣說此大神陀羅尼咒。即說咒曰:

【English Translation】 English version Zhā pó luó dòu lǜ, Zhā zhì dān, Shé pó yè, Dān hē yè, Xū hē yè, Ní pó luó yè, Yé pó mǒu luó tí, Nà mǒu zhē tí, Lú lóu zhì zhà, Bān tuó sǐ, Lú lóu lú, Lòu zhì zhà, Bān tuó sǐ, Xī bō hē, Hé lì zhī, Lì shōu lì, Mó dēng qí, Zhān tuó lì, Luó chā luó chā luó yé, Xī bō hē.

This mantra protects against all calamities. It is bright, pure, and without blemish, capable of dissolving bonds. Luminous contemplation can bind all thieves. It bewilders all evil, protecting oneself and binding thieves. Tigers, wolves, lions, wild elephants, and jackals are all bound by this mantra. May I, so-and-so, and my companions, find peace and auspiciousness wherever the power of this mantra reaches. Homage to Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva. May this mantra bring great auspiciousness. The method for using this mantra is to abstain from the five pungent spices, keep the body clean, and bathe on the day of recitation. One must not engage in sexual activity, nor drink alcohol or eat meat. Take a white cotton thread, hold it in your hand, and recite the mantra seven times, tying a knot after each recitation. If one encounters official lawsuits, disputes, curses, or any evil, this mantra can eliminate them. After the recitation, tie this thread to the person's belt. After the matter is resolved, the person should untie it themselves.

Homage to all Buddhas of the past, future, and present. Homage to Mañjuśrī (Wénshū shīlì) Bodhisattva, Samantabhadra (Pǔxián) Bodhisattva, Maitreya (Mílè) Bodhisattva, and all great Bodhisattvas. I take refuge in such Bodhisattva Mahasattvas. Then, recite this great divine Dharani mantra. The mantra is as follows:

此咒除一切闇。如來所持諸天敬愛。眾神擁護梵天所解。帝釋敬奉護世守護。決了眾聖諸仙受持。和合眾性解脫諸縛。一切諸天及人。斷諸煩惱降諸魔怨。伏諸外道摧伏眾論。及諸憍慢過諸法師。不捨大眾悅諸學法。守護法藏利益三寶。慈哀一切眾生之類。莊嚴眾義有如是利。是名無盡藏陀羅尼非護能護。若有讀誦者。得三十三無隸畏難。用此咒法晨起澡手漱口。燒香禮拜三遍。讀誦所行之處言語談說。一切向處無常不勝眾人。貴敬見者歡喜怨家降伏。有如是利益。

此咒能消除一切黑暗。是如來所持,諸天敬愛,眾神擁護,梵天所宣說,帝釋天敬奉,護世四天王守護。能決斷一切聖賢,諸仙人受持。能和合一切眾生,解脫一切束縛。一切諸天及人,能斷除一切煩惱,降伏一切魔怨。能降伏一切外道,摧伏各種邪論,以及各種驕慢,超越一切法師。不捨棄大眾,喜悅一切學習佛法之人。守護佛法寶藏,利益佛法僧三寶。慈悲憐憫一切眾生。莊嚴一切義理,有如此的利益。這名為無盡藏陀羅尼,不是被守護而是能守護。若有人讀誦此咒,能得三十三種無所畏懼的境地。運用此咒的方法是,早晨起來洗手漱口,燒香禮拜三遍。讀誦此咒,無論所行之處,言語談說,一切所向之處,都能戰勝眾人。眾人貴敬,見者歡喜,怨家降伏。有如此的利益。 《佛說六字咒王經》

【English Translation】 English version: Po-ti: Auspicious. Shu-ti-po-lo-lu: Extremely good protection. Hsu-pi-mo-li: Wonderfully pure. An-mo-li: Immaculate.

This mantra eliminates all darkness. It is held by the Tathagata, revered by the devas (gods), protected by the deities, proclaimed by Brahma, venerated by Indra (帝釋), and guarded by the Lokapalas (護世四天王, Four Heavenly Kings who protect the world). It can resolve all sages and is upheld by all immortals. It can harmonize all beings and liberate all bonds. All devas and humans can cut off all afflictions, subdue all demonic enemies. It can subdue all heretics, crush all false doctrines, as well as all arrogance, surpassing all Dharma masters. It does not abandon the masses, delights all those who study the Dharma. It protects the Dharma treasury, benefiting the Triple Gem (Buddha, Dharma, Sangha). It compassionately cherishes all sentient beings. It adorns all meanings and has such benefits. This is called the Inexhaustible Treasury Dharani, not to be protected but able to protect. If someone recites this mantra, they can attain thirty-three kinds of fearless states. The method of using this mantra is to wash hands and rinse the mouth in the morning, burn incense and prostrate three times. Recite this mantra, wherever one goes, whatever one speaks, in all directions, one can overcome all people. People will respect and revere, those who see will rejoice, and enemies will be subdued.
