我依瑜伽金剛頂經。說蓮華部千手千眼觀自在菩薩身口意金剛秘密修行法。行者應從瑜伽阿阇梨處。求受菩提心律儀戒入大曼荼羅。受灌頂。位勝解行地。捨身命財。勇猛精進。懷悲愍心。不厭生死。決定求證普賢菩薩身。歷侍諸佛。樂修勝義般若波羅蜜。具慈悲喜捨。饒益有情。或於山間勝地閑凈之處。或於清凈伽藍及舍利塔前。修治精室涂拭壇場。周匝懸幡上施天蓋。于壇西面安千手千眼觀自在菩薩像。持誦者于壇東對像。敷茅薦為座。或坐被腳小床。壇上分佈曼荼羅。列諸聖位。置二閼伽滿盛香水。安四寶瓶于壇四角。每日取種種時花散於壇上。燒香涂香燈明飲食及諸果子。加持分佈四邊供養。每入道場虔誠作禮。發露懺悔隨喜勸請回向發願。即運心觀想。遍滿虛空一切如來。具諸相好皆入法界定。又觀自身住佛海會中。即結警覺一切如來印。二手各作金剛拳。檀慧相鉤。直舒進力二度。側相拄。真言以印三舉。真言

《金剛頂瑜伽千手千眼觀自在菩薩修行儀軌經》捲上 開府儀同三司特進試鴻臚卿肅國公食邑三千戶賜紫贈司空謚大鑒正號大廣智大興善寺三藏沙門不空奉 詔譯 我依據瑜伽《金剛頂經》,宣說蓮華部千手千眼觀自在菩薩(Avalokiteśvara,以千手千眼為特徵的觀音菩薩)身口意金剛秘密修行法。修行者應當從瑜伽阿阇梨(Ācārya,導師)處,求受菩提心律儀戒,進入大曼荼羅(Maṇḍala,壇城),接受灌頂。安住于勝解行地,捨棄身命資財,勇猛精進,懷有悲憫之心,不厭棄生死,決心求證普賢菩薩(Samantabhadra)之身,歷劫侍奉諸佛,樂於修習勝義般若波羅蜜(Prajñāpāramitā,最高的智慧),具備慈悲喜捨四無量心,饒益一切有情眾生。可以在山間勝地,或者清凈的伽藍(Saṃghārāma,寺院)以及舍利塔前,修治精室,涂拭壇場,四周懸掛幡旗,上方施設天蓋。在壇場的西面安放千手千眼觀自在菩薩像。持誦者在壇場的東面對著佛像,鋪設茅草作為座位,或者坐在有靠背的小床上。在壇上分佈曼荼羅,排列諸聖位。設定兩個閼伽(Argha,供水器),盛滿香水。在壇的四個角安放四個寶瓶。每日取用各種時令鮮花散在壇上。焚燒香,塗抹香,點燃燈,供養飲食以及各種果子。加持後分布在四邊進行供養。每次進入道場都要虔誠地作禮,發露懺悔,隨喜功德,勸請諸佛住世,迴向功德,併發下誓願。然後運心觀想,遍滿虛空都是一切如來,具足各種殊勝的相好,都融入法界定中。再觀想自身安住在佛的海會之中。然後結警覺一切如來印。兩手各作金剛拳,檀慧二指相互勾連,直舒展進力二指,指尖相拄。用手印配合真言舉三次。真言:

《The Sutra on the Ritual for the Practice of the Thousand-Armed and Thousand-Eyed Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva According to the Yoga of the Vajra Peak》 Volume 1 Translated by the Tripitaka Master Bukong (Amoghavajra), bearing the title of Grand Master of Wisdom, from the Da Xing Shan Temple, under imperial decree. He held the positions of Grand Master of the Ministry of Rites, Special Advanced Official of the Three Departments, Duke of Su of the State, enjoying a fief of three thousand households, bestowed with purple robes, posthumously granted the title of Minister of Public Works, and posthumously honored with the title of Da Jian. I, relying on the Yoga Vajra Peak Sutra, expound the secret practice of body, speech, and mind of the Thousand-Armed and Thousand-Eyed Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva (Avalokiteśvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion characterized by a thousand arms and a thousand eyes) of the Lotus Family. The practitioner should seek from a Yoga Ācārya (Ācārya, teacher) to receive the Bodhicitta precepts, enter the great Maṇḍala (Maṇḍala, sacred space), and receive Abhiṣeka (Abhiṣeka, initiation). Abiding in the stage of understanding and practice, sacrificing body, life, and wealth, being courageous and diligent, cherishing a compassionate heart, not厭厭生厭厭, resolutely seeking to realize the body of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva (Samantabhadra), serving all Buddhas throughout kalpas, delighting in cultivating the supreme Prajñāpāramitā (Prajñāpāramitā, the perfection of wisdom), possessing the four immeasurable minds of loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity, benefiting all sentient beings. One may cultivate in a scenic and secluded place in the mountains, or in a pure Saṃghārāma (Saṃghārāma, monastery) or before a Stupa (Stupa, a dome-shaped structure), preparing a clean room, smearing and cleaning the altar, hanging banners all around, and erecting a canopy above. Place the image of the Thousand-Armed and Thousand-Eyed Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva on the west side of the altar. The practitioner, facing the image on the east side of the altar, spreads thatch as a seat, or sits on a small bed with a backrest. Distribute the Maṇḍala on the altar, arranging the positions of the various holy beings. Place two Arghas (Argha, water offering vessels) filled with fragrant water. Place four treasure vases at the four corners of the altar. Every day, take various seasonal flowers and scatter them on the altar. Burn incense, apply fragrant paste, light lamps, and offer food and various fruits. After blessing them, distribute them on all sides as offerings. Each time entering the practice place, prostrate sincerely, confess transgressions, rejoice in merits, request the Buddhas to remain in the world, dedicate merits, and make vows. Then, visualize with the mind that all Tathāgatas (Tathāgata, Buddhas) fill the entire space, possessing all the auspicious marks and qualities, all merging into the Samadhi of the Dharmadhatu. Then, visualize oneself abiding in the assembly of Buddhas. Then, form the mudra of awakening all Tathāgatas. With both hands, make Vajra fists, with the ring and index fingers interlocked, extend the middle fingers straight, with the tips touching each other. Raise the mudra three times with the mantra. 次應禮四方如來請求加護。先禮東方阿閦如來等一切如來。瑜伽者即以全身委地。二手金剛合掌長舒頂上。以心著地至誠敬禮。真言曰。

接下來禮拜南方寶生如來(Ratnasambhava,寶生如來)等一切如來。如前一樣展身伏于地面,金剛合掌置於心前下方,以額頭貼地,至誠禮敬。真言曰:

【English Translation】 English version: Said:

Om Vajru(twofold-initial)tistha(twofold)

By forming this mudra and reciting the awakening mantra, all Tathagatas emerge from samadhi. The yogi should contemplate in this way, informing all Buddhas: 'I, myself, lack wisdom and merit, and am submerged in the sea of suffering, relying on the majestic power of all Buddhas. I beseech that all Buddhas do not abandon their great compassionate vows, and with compassion and pity, observe, protect, and remember me, and deliver me.' All those Tathagatas each bestow their divine power to bless, protect, and remember. The practitioner of yoga obtains immeasurable blessings, and their body and mind are at ease.

Next, one should prostrate to the Buddhas of the four directions, requesting their blessings and protection. First, prostrate to Akshobhya (Immovable Tathagata) and all the Tathagatas of the East. The yogi immediately prostrates their entire body on the ground, with hands in Vajra-anjali mudra, extended above the head, and with the heart touching the ground, reverently prostrates. The mantra is:

Om Sarva-tatha(gone-initial)gata(one) pu(initial)ru(tsuku-ku-reverse-initial)pastha(twofold-initial)na(initial)ya(initial)tama(twofold-initial)nam(two) hri-ya(twofold-initial)taya(initial)me(three) sarva-tatha(gone-initial)gata(four) vajra(twofold) sattva(twofold)dhistha(twofold) svaha(twofold) hum(initial five) Hum

By forming the mudra of offering the body and reciting the mantra, offering and reverently prostrating, the yogi, by performing this prostration, until becoming a Buddha, constantly receives the blessings of Vajrasattva (Diamond Being), causing the Bodhicitta to be perfected.

Next, prostrate to Ratnasambhava (Jewel-born Tathagata) and all the Tathagatas of the South. As before, extend the body and prostrate on the ground, with hands in Vajra-anjali mudra below the heart, and with the forehead touching the ground, reverently prostrate. The mantra is:

次禮西方無量壽如來等一切如來。如前展身。金剛合掌置於頂上。以口著地至誠敬禮。真言曰。

接下來禮敬北方不空成就如來(Amoghasiddhi)等一切如來。展身如前,雙手結金剛合掌置於心前,以頭頂觸地,至誠敬禮。真言曰:

By forming the '捨身印' (sacrificing body mudra) and reciting the mantra, offering, making offerings, and paying homage, even until attaining Buddhahood, one will always receive the empowerment of Ākāśagarbha (space treasury bodhisattva), with perfect merit and virtue, possessing all auspicious marks, and shall become the Dharma King of the Three Realms.

Next, pay homage to Amitābha (infinite light buddha) and all other Tathāgatas in the West. Extend the body as before, place the Vajra joined palms on the head, and prostrate with the mouth touching the ground with utmost sincerity. The mantra is:

Oṃ sarva tathāgatapūjāpravartanāya ātmānaṃ niryātayāmi sarva tathāgatavajradharmapravartaya svāhā hrīḥ

By forming the '捨身印' (sacrificing body mudra) and reciting the mantra, offering, making offerings, and paying homage, even until attaining Buddhahood, one will always receive the blessings of Avalokiteśvara (the bodhisattva who observes the sounds of the world), with perfect wisdom, and turn the wonderful Dharma wheel.

Next, pay homage to Amoghasiddhi (infallible success buddha) and all other Tathāgatas in the North. Extend the body as before, place the Vajra joined palms in front of the heart, and prostrate with the forehead touching the ground with utmost sincerity. The mantra is:

Oṃ sarva tathāgatapūjākarmaṇi ātmānaṃ niryātayāmi sarva tathāgatavajrakarmakuru svāhā aḥ

By forming the '捨身印' (sacrificing body mudra) and reciting the mantra, offering, making offerings, and paying homage, even until attaining Buddhahood, one will always receive the blessings of Vajrakarma (vajra karma bodhisattva), and in all Buddha worlds, accomplish vast offering deeds.


然後結跏趺坐端身正念。不動支節閉目寂靜。入四無量心觀。即結定印。

初入慈無量心定。以殷凈心。遍緣六道四生一切有情。皆具如來藏。備三種身口意金剛。以我修三密功德力故。愿一切有情等同普賢菩薩。如是觀已即誦大慈三摩地 真言曰。

唵摩賀(引)昧(引)怛啰夜(三合引)娑頗(二合)啰

次應入悲無量心三摩地智。以悲愍心。遍緣六道四生一切有情。沉溺生死苦海不悟自心。妄生分別起種種煩惱隨煩惱。是故不達真如平等如虛空。超恒沙功德。以我修三密加持力故。愿一切有情等同虛空藏菩薩。如是觀已即誦大悲三摩地 真言曰。

唵摩賀(引)迦嚕拏(上)夜(引)娑頗(二合)啰

次應入喜無量心三摩地智。以清凈心。遍緣六道四生一切有情。本來清凈猶如蓮華。不染客塵自性清凈。以我修三密功德力故。愿一切有情等同觀自在菩薩。如是觀已即誦大喜三摩地 真言曰。

唵秫(詩律反)馱缽啰(二合)謨(引)娜娑頗(二合)啰

次應入舍無量心三摩地智。以平等心遍緣六道四生一切有情。皆離我我所離蘊界。及離能取所取於法平等。心本不生性相空故。以我修三密功德力故。愿一切有情等同虛空庫菩薩。如是觀已即誦大舍三摩地

首先進入慈無量心定。以殷切清凈的心,普遍地觀想六道四生一切有情眾生,都具有如來藏(Tathagatagarbha,如來法身的藏處),具備身口意三種金剛。憑藉我修持身口意三密的功德力,愿一切有情眾生都等同於普賢菩薩(Samantabhadra)。這樣觀想完畢后,就誦持大慈三摩地真言,真言如下:

唵(Om)摩賀(maha,偉大的)昧怛啰夜(maitraya,慈悲的)娑頗啰(sphara,遍滿)

其次應當進入悲無量心三摩地智。以悲憫的心,普遍地觀想六道四生一切有情眾生,沉溺在生死苦海中,不覺悟自己的本心,妄生分別,產生種種煩惱和隨煩惱。因此不能通達真如(Tathata,事物的真實如是的狀態),平等如虛空,超越恒河沙數般的功德。憑藉我修持身口意三密的加持力,愿一切有情眾生都等同於虛空藏菩薩(Akasagarbha)。這樣觀想完畢后,就誦持大悲三摩地真言,真言如下:

唵(Om)秫馱(shuddha,清凈的)缽啰謨娜(pramoda,喜悅的)娑頗啰(sphara,遍滿)

其次應當進入舍無量心三摩地智。以平等的心普遍地觀想六道四生一切有情眾生,都遠離我及我所,遠離五蘊、十二界,以及遠離能取和所取,對於一切法平等對待。心本來不生,自性空寂。憑藉我修持身口意三密的功德力,愿一切有情眾生都等同於虛空庫菩薩(Akasagarbha)。這樣觀想完畢后,就誦持大舍三摩地

Then, sit in the lotus position, straighten your body, and focus your mind. Keep your body still, close your eyes, and enter a state of tranquility. Enter the contemplation of the Four Immeasurable Minds. Then form the meditation mudra.

First, enter the Samadhi of Immeasurable Loving-Kindness. With a sincere and pure mind, universally contemplate all sentient beings in the six realms and four forms of birth, all possessing the Tathagatagarbha (the womb of the Tathagata, the storehouse of the Tathagata's Dharma body), endowed with the three vajras of body, speech, and mind. By the power of my practice of the three secrets of body, speech, and mind, may all sentient beings be equal to Samantabhadra Bodhisattva. Having contemplated in this way, recite the Great Loving-Kindness Samadhi mantra, which is:

Om Maha Maitraya Sphara

Next, one should enter the wisdom of the Samadhi of Immeasurable Compassion. With a compassionate mind, universally contemplate all sentient beings in the six realms and four forms of birth, drowning in the sea of suffering of samsara, not awakening to their own minds, falsely generating discriminations, and giving rise to various afflictions and secondary afflictions. Therefore, they cannot realize Suchness (Tathata), which is equal like space, transcending merits like the sands of the Ganges. By the power of my practice of the three secrets, may all sentient beings be equal to Akasagarbha Bodhisattva. Having contemplated in this way, recite the Great Compassion Samadhi mantra, which is:

Om Maha Karunaya Sphara

Next, one should enter the wisdom of the Samadhi of Immeasurable Joy. With a pure mind, universally contemplate all sentient beings in the six realms and four forms of birth, originally pure like a lotus flower, not stained by external dust, with a self-nature that is pure. By the power of my practice of the three secrets, may all sentient beings be equal to Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva. Having contemplated in this way, recite the Great Joy Samadhi mantra, which is:

Om Shuddha Pramoda Sphara

Next, one should enter the wisdom of the Samadhi of Immeasurable Equanimity. With an equal mind, universally contemplate all sentient beings in the six realms and four forms of birth, all being apart from 'I' and 'mine', apart from the five skandhas, the twelve ayatanas, and apart from the grasper and the grasped, being equal towards all dharmas. The mind is originally unborn, and its self-nature is empty. By the power of my practice of the three secrets, may all sentient beings be equal to Akasagarbha Bodhisattva. Having contemplated in this way, recite the Great Equanimity Samadhi

瑜伽者由修習四無量心定。誦四無量心真言。于未來所有人天種種魔業障難。悉皆除滅。身中頓集無量福聚。心得調柔堪任自在。

次結金剛合掌印。二手十度右押左。互相交即成 真言曰。

由結金剛合掌印。速得滿足十波羅蜜。得十自在。

次結金剛縛印。即以前印十度外相叉。作拳即成 真言曰。

由結金剛縛印。瑜伽者速得十地滿足。

由結此印。瑜伽者身中三密金剛皆得順伏。加持不散。

由結金剛拳三昧耶印。身口意金剛合為一體。修瑜伽者速得一切成就。

【English Translation】 English version: Mantra says: 'Om Maha(elongated) Biksha(combined, elongated) Sphara(combined)'. Yogis, by practicing the Samadhi of the Four Immeasurable Minds and reciting the mantra of the Four Immeasurable Minds, can eliminate all kinds of demonic karma and obstacles that all humans and devas may encounter in the future, quickly accumulate immeasurable merits in themselves, and make their minds gentle and able to function freely. Next, form the Vajra Joined Palms Mudra. Cross the ten fingers of both hands, with the right hand pressing on the left hand, and it is done. Mantra says: 'Om Vajra(combined, elongated) Ra(Tzila return) Li'. By forming the Vajra Joined Palms Mudra, one can quickly fulfill the Ten Paramitas (Paramita, the ten ways to reach the other shore) and obtain the Ten Freedoms. Next, form the Vajra Binding Mudra. That is, with the previous mudra, cross the ten fingers on the outside and make a fist. Mantra says: 'Om Vajra(combined) Mandha'. By forming the Vajra Binding Mudra, yogis can quickly fulfill the Ten Bhumis (Bhumi, the ten stages of a Bodhisattva's practice). By forming this mudra, one can destroy the ten kinds of delusions and obstacles in the heart, thereby manifesting and developing the Vajra of body, speech, and mind. Next, form the Vajra All-Pervading Mudra. Like the previous Vajra Binding Mudra, bend the Jnana (wisdom) and Dhyana (meditation) fingers into the palm, each holding the Sila (precept) and Ksanti (patience) fingers, and place them on the heart. Mantra says: 'Om Vajra(combined, elongated) Vesha(Wei Bi return) Ah'. By forming this mudra, the three secrets of body, speech, and mind in the yogi's body can be subdued, and the power of blessing will not be lost. Next, form the Vajra Fist Samaya Mudra. Like the previous Vajra All-Pervading Mudra, bend the Effort and Strength fingers and press them against the back of the Jnana and Dhyana fingers. Mantra says: 'Om Vajra(combined) Mushtih(combined) Vam'. By forming the Vajra Fist Samaya Mudra, the Vajra of body, speech, and mind are united into one, and those who practice yoga can quickly achieve all accomplishments.

Recite the mantra three times. The mantra is: Om samaya satvam Visualize yourself as being identical to Vajrasattva, residing within a moon disc. Then visualize Vajrasattva in front of you, like a reflection in a mirror, facing you without any difference. By forming this mudra, reciting the mantra, and engaging in corresponding visualization, you will become the master of all mudras. Next, form the Great Samaya Reality mudra. Form the Vajra bandha mudra with both hands, bend the ring and little fingers inward towards the palms, with the finger surfaces touching. Erect the middle and index fingers, joining their tips together, and frequently touch the tips of the ring and little fingers to the heart. The mantra is: Om samaya hoh suratā satvam By forming this mudra, awaken the Vajrasattva within the body of the yogi, and through the majestic power, bless the practitioner, quickly attaining the body of Samantabhadra. Next, form the mudra of the Victorious Bodhisattva of the Three Times. Make Vajra fists with both hands, place the right hand on top of the left hand, with the middle and index fingers hooked in opposite directions. Erect the thumb and ring fingers, and place the mudra at the heart. Recite the mantra three times. 瑜伽者端身正坐儼然不動。想自身在一切如來海會。觀一一佛身微細由如胡麻。相好具足了了分明。即入觀自在菩薩觀智。作是思惟。一切法本來清凈我亦清凈。於世間貪愛清凈故。則瞋恚清凈。於世間塵垢清凈故。則一切罪清凈。於世間一切法清凈故。則一切有情清凈。於世間般若波羅蜜多清凈故。則薩婆若清凈。

瑜伽者作是觀已。身心豁然清凈。即誦通達心真言曰。

唵唧多(上)缽啰(二合)底(丁以反)吠(微閉

【English Translation】 English version: The remover of obstacles. Then turn three times to the right, forming a boundary of any size in all directions. Next, apply the mudra to the heart, forehead, throat, and crown of the head. Recite the mantra once at each location, and finally, release the mudra at the crown of the head.

By forming this mudra and reciting the mantra, abiding in this wrathful Samadhi (禪定, meditative absorption), all afflictions and karmic obstacles of body and mind are burned away completely by the fierce Vajra (金剛, diamond-like) fire of wisdom.

Next, form the Padma Samaya Mudra (蓮華三昧耶印, Lotus Samaya Mudra). As before with the Vajra Bandha Mudra (金剛縛印, Diamond Binding Mudra), extend and join the thumb, index, and middle fingers vertically, placing it over the mouth, and recite the mantra:

Om Vajra (金剛, diamond) Padma (蓮花, lotus) Samaya Satvam (誓言真實, Samaya Being).

The yogi should contemplate thus: 'My present body is identical to Avalokiteśvara (觀自在菩薩, the Bodhisattva of Compassion). Visualize the left hand holding a lotus flower at the heart, and the right hand making the gesture of opening a lotus. Abide within the complete moon disc, clearly and distinctly. By forming this mudra and reciting the mantra, all Samadhis (禪定, meditative absorptions) and all expedient Prajnaparamita (般若波羅蜜, perfection of wisdom) will be swiftly accomplished.'

Next, form the Samadhi Mudra (三摩地印, Meditative Absorption Mudra). As before with the Vajra Bandha Mudra (金剛縛印, Diamond Binding Mudra), place it face-up on the crossed legs in the lotus position. Bend the ring and little fingers, extend the middle fingers straight and touching at the back, and touch the index fingers and thumbs horizontally on top of the middle and ring fingers. Then recite the mantra:

Om Samadhi Padme Hrih.

The yogi sits upright and motionless. Visualize oneself in the assembly of all Tathagatas (如來, Thus Come Ones). Visualize each Buddha's body as minute as a sesame seed, complete with all marks and characteristics, clearly and distinctly. Then enter the wisdom of Avalokiteśvara (觀自在菩薩, the Bodhisattva of Compassion). Contemplate thus: 'All dharmas are originally pure, and I am also pure. Because attachment to the world is pure, therefore anger is also pure. Because the defilement of the world is pure, therefore all sins are also pure. Because all dharmas of the world are pure, therefore all sentient beings are also pure. Because Prajnaparamita (般若波羅蜜, perfection of wisdom) of the world is pure, therefore Sarvajna (一切智, all-knowingness) is also pure.'

After the yogi has contemplated thus, body and mind become completely pure. Then recite the mantra for penetrating the mind:

瑜伽者誦無限數。當證二無我。顯現如來藏。證圓滿菩提心。即誦菩提心真言曰。

唵底瑟姹(二合)跛娜么(二合)

想其蓮華漸舒漸大。乃至遍滿小千世界及中千世界大千世界。其華具大光明。照曜六道眾生滅除一切苦惱。彼等獲得安樂悅喜。即誦引蓮華真言曰。

唵娑頗(二合)啰跛娜么(二合)

復想是蓮華漸斂漸小。量等己身。即誦斂蓮華真言曰。

唵僧(去)賀啰跛娜么(二合)

又想空中一切如來。悉皆入此蓮華中。合為一體。其蓮華變成觀自在菩薩。身紅玻梨色坐蓮華臺上。首戴寶冠冠中有化佛。了了分明。以決定心如是觀已。即誦自身成本尊瑜伽真言曰。

由誦此真言加持故。瑜伽者自身與本尊身。等無有異。

次結加持印。如前金剛縛。進力合豎屈如蓮葉。禪智並豎即成。以印加持四處。所謂心額喉頂。各誦一遍 真言曰。

The yogi should recite this mantra countless times. When he realizes the two non-selves (the non-self of person and the non-self of phenomena), the Tathagatagarbha (the essence of the Tathagata) will appear, and he will attain perfect Bodhicitta (the mind of enlightenment). Then recite the Bodhicitta mantra, which is:

'Om Bodhicitta Mutpadaya Mi' (Mantra for arousing Bodhicitta)

Then close your eyes and concentrate your mind. Visualize a full, pure, and immaculate moon in the center of your chest. Focus your mind and do not change your object of focus. On the bright moon, visualize an eight-petaled lotus flower. In the lotus womb, visualize the syllable 'Hrih' (seed syllable), which is the color of red Sphatika (crystal). Then recite the mantra for blessing the lotus flower, which is:

'Om Tishtha Padma' (Mantra for the lotus to abide)

Visualize this lotus flower gradually unfolding and growing larger, until it fills the small thousand world, the middle thousand world, and the great thousand world. This lotus flower has great light, illuminating the beings of the six realms, eliminating all suffering, and bringing them joy and happiness. Then recite the mantra for drawing forth the lotus flower, which is:

'Om Sphara Padma' (Mantra for the lotus to open)

Again, visualize this lotus flower gradually contracting and shrinking, until it is the same size as yourself. Then recite the mantra for contracting the lotus flower, which is:

'Om Samhara Padma' (Mantra for the lotus to gather)

Also, visualize all the Tathagatas (Buddhas) in the sky entering this lotus flower and becoming one. This lotus flower transforms into Avalokiteshvara (the Bodhisattva of Compassion), whose body is the color of red Sphatika (crystal), sitting on a lotus platform, wearing a jeweled crown with a manifested Buddha in the crown. After visualizing this clearly and distinctly with a determined mind, recite the yoga mantra for transforming oneself into the deity, which is:

'Om Vajradharmo 'Ham' (Mantra: I am Vajradhara)

By the power of reciting this mantra, the yogi's own body is no different from the body of the Ishtadevata (personal deity).

Next, form the blessing mudra. As before, the Vajrabandha (hand seal), the index and middle fingers are joined and erect, bent like lotus petals, and the ring and little fingers are also erect. Use this mudra to bless the four places: the heart, forehead, throat, and crown of the head, reciting the mantra once at each place, which is:

次結金剛甲冑印。二手各作金剛拳。直舒進力。於二度端想唵砧(謫簪反)二字。即誦被甲冑真言曰。

隨誦真言。以進力二度。初於心上相繞三匝。分至背後亦相繞。還卻至臍相繞。次繞右膝。還至臍背相繞。次至腰后。卻至心前。次繞右肩。次繞左肩。次至喉。復至頸后。至額前。后至腦後。每處皆相繞三匝。如前徐徐兩邊下。如垂帶勢。從檀慧度次第散十度。便以二手旋拳如舞。當心三度拍

Next, form the Buddha Crown Consecration Mudra. Like the previous Vajra Bond, erect the Patience and Wish fingers, with the Effort and Strength fingers touching each other like lotus leaves. Place this mudra on the forehead and recite the mantra three times. The mantra is: Om Tathagata Dharma Hum: By forming this mudra and reciting the mantra, one will obtain the Amitayus Tathagata Crown Consecration. Next, form the Lotus Garland Mudra. Make lotus fists with both hands and place them in front of the forehead, intertwining them three times as if tying a garland. 'Om Padma Tusti Hūm'

By forming the Vajra Armor Mudra until becoming a Buddha, in all places and all lives, one is always adorned in body and mind by the Great Compassionate Vajra Armor. Both worldly and supramundane siddhis (achievements) are quickly attained. Internal and external obstacles, Vinayakas (obstacle-creating deities), cannot intrude. By reciting the mantra and clapping the hands in the Vajra manner, all the holy assembly rejoices.

Next, in the space below, visualize the Hām syllable (pronounced as 'hū-gǎn'). This syllable is like a dyed dark color, gradually expanding to become a great wind wheel. On the wind wheel, visualize the Mam syllable (pronounced as 'mō-gǎn'), white in color, gradually expanding to match the wind wheel, transforming into a water wheel. On the water wheel, visualize the Pra syllable (a conjunct), golden in color, matching the water wheel to become a golden tortoise. On the tortoise's back, visualize the Su syllable, transforming into Mount Sumeru (Mount Meru), made of four treasures. Also, visualize the Kshana syllable (flat tone), transforming into a golden mountain, surrounded by seven layers. Then, on Mount Sumeru in the empty space, visualize Vairochana Buddha (the Buddha of pervasive light), with fragrant milky rain flowing from every pore of his body, pouring down between the seven mountains to form a sea of fragrant milk with the eight qualities. On the summit of Mount Sumeru, visualize a great eight-petaled lotus flower. On the lotus flower, there are eight great Vajra pillars, forming a jeweled pavilion. Within the lotus womb, visualize the Hrīh syllable (a conjunct), from which flows great light, illuminating all Buddha worlds. All suffering beings who encounter this light are liberated. Within this great light, Thousand-Armed Thousand-Eyed Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva (the Bodhisattva of great compassion) emerges, possessing immeasurable marks and qualities, blazing with majestic virtue. The Ten Paramita Bodhisattvas (Bodhisattvas of practice) surround him. The Eight Offering Bodhisattvas each reside in their respective positions. In the four corners of the jeweled pavilion, there are the four great Bodhisattvas: White-Robed, Great White, Tara (Goddess of salvation), and Bhrikuti (wrathful form), each surrounded by countless lotus assembly members. The eight classes of gods and other beings serve as their retinue. Visualize the immeasurable holy assembly and the principal deity in this way, being extremely clear and not forgetting the order.

Then recite the mantra: Om Vajra Chakra Hum Hum Vam Hoh (long 'a') Placing this Mudra on the altar in front of you, it forms the great Mandala (sacred space) of the Lotus Family subduing the world. Placing the Mudra on your heart, you yourself become the great Mandala. Touching the image of the principal deity with the Mudra, whether it is a painting, a bronze statue, or a sculpture, all become the great Mandala. Placing the Mudra in the air in front of you, the entire space becomes the great Mandala. If a practitioner has transgressions, mistakenly violates the three karmas of body, speech, and mind, and breaks the Samaya vows (pledges), by forming this Mudra and reciting the mantra with blessings, it can eliminate all faults and attain perfection. 【English Translation】 English version: The left hand forms the gesture of snapping fingers with forbearance, meditation, vow, and wisdom. Visualize the left hand transforming into a Vajra Ghanda (a type of vajra), and the right hand holding a single-pronged vajra, striking it so that the sound resonates throughout the ten directions. All Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and all holy beings, upon hearing this, descend upon the Mandala (sacred circle) in the sky. The yogi then abides in the Samadhi (state of meditative absorption) of Avalokiteśvara (the Bodhisattva of Compassion). Then recite the one hundred and eight names in praise of the Lotus Family, universally prostrating to all holy beings, reciting the praise:

'Jayatu mrinala shankha jata kesha kara padhram (1), Padma vargga vyavasthita trayani tratra sahasra bhujam (2), Satata namas kritopi vidya dhara deva gananam (3), Ahama valokiteshvara guna stuta danapradata (4), Padma raga rasmim alam (5), Kama raga mudram (6), Loka natha mandha me (7), Sarva shuddha siddhaya cha (8).'

接下來結蓮華喜戲菩薩印。雙手蓮花合掌,禪智二指並豎微微打開,安放在心上就完成了。瑜伽行者觀想自身等同於喜戲菩薩,觀想從心中流出無量喜戲菩薩,供養本尊及一切聖眾。

通過結此手印誦持真言供養的緣故,不久就能獲得如來地(佛的境界),安住于佛法圓滿顯現的法樂之中,證成無上菩提(最高的覺悟)。

接下來結蓮華鬘菩薩印。就是以前的手印舒展手臂向前,與自己的額頭和肚臍平齊,運想從額頭流出無量蓮華鬘菩薩,供養本尊及一切聖眾。

蓮華鬘真言如下:

唵跛娜么(二合)么(上引)黎(一)鼻詵(去)左(引)鼻曬(灌頂)

【English Translation】 English version Ma Yam (recitation five) Sarva Mudram (two combined, drawn) Bandhaya (six) Sarva Siddhayu (drawn) Me (drawn) Prati (two combined) Kshaya (seven) Padma (two combined, drawn) Vesha Ah Ah Ah Ah (eight).

By forming this mudra and reciting the mantra three times, all the holy assembly will be greatly pleased.

Next, offer the fragrant water of arghya. Hold the arghya vessel with both hands and offer it before the forehead. Recite the mantra seven times, visualizing bathing the feet of all the holy assembly. The mantra is:

Namo Samanta Buddhanam (drawn one) Om Gagana (two) Samaya Svaha (two combined, drawn).

When a yogi offers arghya, he should make a vow and report to the holy ones the things he hopes for in his heart, wishing that the siddhi (accomplishment) he seeks will be quickly achieved.

Next, form the Lotus Joyful Play Bodhisattva Mudra. Bring the hands together in lotus-like palms, with the wisdom and meditation fingers upright and slightly open. Place them at the heart. The yogi should visualize himself as being the same as the Joyful Play Bodhisattva, and visualize countless Joyful Play Bodhisattvas flowing from his heart, making offerings to the principal deity and all the holy assembly.

The Lotus Joyful Play Mantra is:

Om Padma Rasiragaya (one) Maha Devi (two) Raga Puja Samaya Hum (drawn three).

By forming this mudra and reciting the mantra for offering, one will soon attain the Tathagata ground (state of Buddha), dwell in the Dharma bliss of perfect manifestation, and realize unsurpassed Bodhi (supreme enlightenment).

Next, form the Lotus Garland Bodhisattva Mudra. Extend the arms forward from the previous mudra, aligning them with your forehead and navel. Visualize countless Lotus Garland Bodhisattvas flowing from the forehead, making offerings to the principal deity and all the holy assembly.

The Lotus Garland Mantra is:

By forming this mudra (hand gesture) and reciting the mantra (sacred utterance) for offering, one obtains complete auspicious marks and becomes the Dharma King of the Three Realms (desire realm, form realm, formless realm).

Next, form the Lotus Song Praise Bodhisattva mudra. Bring the previous mudra down to the navel, with hands in lotus-like joined palms. Slowly raise it to the mouth, then pour the mudra forward and downward from the mouth. Visualize countless Lotus Song Praise Bodhisattvas flowing from the mouth, offering to the principal deity (本尊, Benzun) and all the holy assembly.

The Lotus Song Praise mantra says:

By forming this mudra and reciting the mantra for offering, one will soon possess sixty-four kinds of Brahma sounds and four unimpeded eloquence, capable of turning the great Dharma wheel in countless worlds.

Next, form the Lotus Dance Bodhisattva mudra. Make lotus fists (hand gesture) with both hands. First, rotate them mutually on the right side of the chest as if dancing. Then, rotate them mutually on the left side of the chest, also in a dancing posture. Next, on the right cheek, then on the left cheek, rotate as before, reciting the mantra without interruption. Finally, place the lotus joined palms on the top of the head. Visualize countless Lotus Dance Bodhisattvas flowing from the top of the head, offering to the principal deity and all the holy assembly.

The Lotus Dance mantra says:

By forming this mudra and reciting the mantra for offering, one will obtain three kinds of swift wish-fulfilling bodies. In an instant, in countless worlds, one can perform supernatural games, benefit and bring joy to sentient beings, and extensively perform Buddha deeds.

Next, form the Lotus Incense Burning Bodhisattva mudra. Join the hands in lotus palms, then turn the palms downward and scatter them. Visualize wonderful clouds of incense flowing from the mudra, pervading the entire Dharma realm.

Om Padma(蓮花,lotus) Dhupa Puja(供養,offering) Samaye(誓言,vow) Prahladanaya(喜悅,delight) Padma Kula Nadite(蓮花族的聲音,sound of the lotus family) Maha Ganike(偉大的歌者,great singer) Padma Rati Hum(種子字,seed syllable)

By forming this mudra(手印,hand gesture) and making offerings, one obtains the unobstructed Vajra(金剛,diamond) liberation wisdom of the Tathagata.

Next, form the Lotus Flower Offering Bodhisattva Mudra. Place the hands together in lotus position, pointing upwards as if scattering flowers. Visualize various heavenly and wonderful flowers flowing from the mudra, universally offering to all Tathagata sea assembly.

The Lotus Flower Offering Mantra says:

Om Pushpa(花,flower) Puja(供養,offering) Samaye(誓言,vow) Padma Vasi Mahashriye(偉大的吉祥,great auspiciousness) Padma Kula Pratihara(蓮花族的守護者,guardian of the lotus family) Sarva Ratna(一切珍寶,all jewels) Sadhaya Hum(種子字,seed syllable)

By forming this mudra and making offerings, one obtains a body adorned with a hundred blessings and boundless enjoyment.

Next, form the Lotus Lamp and Candle Bodhisattva Mudra. Place the hands together in lotus position, with the wisdom finger and meditation finger upright. Visualize countless Mani(摩尼,jewel) lamp lights flowing from the mudra, universally illuminating all Buddha-ksetras(佛剎,Buddha-field, pure land where Buddhas reside).

Translated by the Tripitaka Master Amoghavajra of Daxingshan Temple, holding the titles of Grand Master of the Three Divisions, Special Advanced Official of the Honglu Temple, Duke of Su of the State, with an estate of three thousand households, bestowed with purple robes, posthumously granted the title of Minister of Public Works, with the posthumous title of Dajian, and the honorary title of Greatly Wise.

◎ Next, form the Lotus Scent Anointing Bodhisattva Mudra. Bring the two hands together in lotus-like prayer position. Then, disperse them upwards in front of the chest, as if applying scent. Visualize a sea of scent clouds flowing from the mudra, universally offering to all the Tathagata (Như Lai) assemblies. Then, recite the Lotus Scent Anointing mantra:

Om gandha pu(ri)ja(ci la fan ri) samayema hapadma(er he) kura(er) jici kuru(san) sarva karma(yin)ni mei(si) padma(er he) siddhi hum(yin wu)

By forming this mudra and reciting the mantra for offering, one obtains the fivefold Dharmakaya (Dharmakāya, 法身) of morality, concentration, wisdom, liberation, and the knowledge and vision of liberation.

Next, form the Dānapāramitā (佈施波羅蜜, Perfection of Giving) Bodhisattva Mudra. Turn the right hand upward, bend the ring finger and thumb to touch each other, and extend the remaining fingers. Then, recite the mantra:

Om bhagavati(ding yi fan) na(yin) na(yin) adhipati visra(er he) ja purayana(yin) nan svaha(er he)

By forming this mudra and reciting the mantra three times, one immediately extinguishes the seeds of stinginess from countless kalpas (劫), and obtains the blessings of the three kinds of giving: namely, giving of necessities, giving of fearlessness, and giving of the Dharma, thus perfecting Dānapāramitā. In this life, one obtains wealth and abundance, has sufficient resources, attains freedom of mind, and enjoys a long life.

Next, form the Śīlapāramitā (持戒波羅蜜, Perfection of Morality) Bodhisattva Mudra. Cross the two hands inward, and erect the middle and index fingers. Then, recite the mantra:

【English Translation】 English version: Said: 'Om shila dharani bhagavati hum ha' By forming this mudra and reciting the mantra three times, one can extinguish the karmic seeds of breaking precepts accumulated over countless kalpas, and obtain the merits of the three kinds of precepts. These three precepts are: the precept of discipline (律儀戒, Lǜyí jiè), the precept of gathering good dharmas (攝善法戒, Shè shàn fǎ jiè), and the precept of benefiting sentient beings (饒益有情戒, Ráo yì yǒu qíng jiè). Thus, the precept paramita is perfected, and one constantly adorns one's body, speech, and mind with the fragrance of precepts. All transgressions of the four major prohibitions, as well as the eight parajikas (他勝罪, Tā shèng zuì) committed by bhikshus and bhikshunis, will be purified. In the future, one can be reborn in pure and wonderful Buddha-lands according to one's wishes. Next, form the Samadhi Paramita Bodhisattva mudra. Thus, the patience paramita is perfected, one's appearance is dignified and pleasing, one is not hated or envied by others, and everyone comes to be close and attached. One's understanding of the Dharma is profound, and one can transform at will. Next, form the Diligence Paramita Bodhisattva mudra. The mudra formation is similar to the previous Patience Paramita mudra, with the index and middle fingers slightly separated. Then recite the mantra: 'Om virya kali hum virye virye svaha' By forming this mudra and reciting the mantra three times, one can extinguish the karmic seeds of laziness and indolence accumulated over countless kalpas, and obtain the three kinds of diligence. These three kinds of diligence are: armored diligence (被甲精進, Bèi jiǎ jīngjìn), diligence in gathering good dharmas (攝善法精進, Shè shàn fǎ jīngjìn), and diligence in benefiting sentient beings (利樂有情精進, Lì lè yǒu qíng jīngjìn). Thus, the diligence paramita is perfected, one's body and mind are peaceful and happy, free from all diseases, and without suffering or distress. One's wishes for cultivating worldly and supramundane blessings and wisdom will all be fulfilled. Next, form the Dhyana Paramita Bodhisattva mudra. Then recite the mantra: 'Om Bhagavati Sarva Paha Rini Maha Naditye Hum Hum Hum Hum Phat' By forming this Mudra and reciting the mantra three times, one can extinguish the seeds of scattered karma from countless kalpas (eons), and attain three types of Dhyana (meditative absorption): namely, abiding in Dhyana, initiating Dhyana, and accomplishing tasks through Dhyana. Thus, Dhyana Paramita is perfected. The body and mind become light and agile, the supernatural powers cultivated are quickly attained, various demonic obstacles cannot intrude, and all karmic hindrances are completely eliminated. Next, form the Mudra of the Bodhisattva of Prajna Paramita. Extend the five fingers of the left hand flat, palm upward, and place it below the heart. Cover the left hand with the right hand. Then recite the mantra: 'Om Dhi Shri Shurutavi Jaye Svaha' By forming this Mudra and reciting the mantra three times, one can extinguish the seeds of ignorance from countless kalpas, and attain three types of wisdom: namely, the wisdom of emptiness of self without discrimination, the wisdom of emptiness of Dharma (teachings) without discrimination, and the wisdom of emptiness of both without discrimination. Thus, Prajna Paramita is perfected. One gains intelligence and wisdom, comprehends worldly and transcendental Dharmas, and widely understands the profound meanings of the Five Vidyas (sciences). Next, form the Mudra of the Bodhisattva of Upaya Paramita (Perfection of Skillful Means). The right hand holds the Prajna (wisdom) Mudra with the wisdom finger, and the left hand holds the Dana-Shila (giving and morality) Mudra with the Dhyana (meditation) finger. The two hands are joined together, with forbearance and vows facing away from each other, standing upright like needles. Diligence and strength are extended flat, leaning on each other sideways. Then recite the mantra: 'Om Maha Maitri Chitte Svaha' By forming this Mudra and reciting the mantra three times, one can extinguish the seeds of unskillful means from countless kalpas, and attain two types of skillful means: namely, the skillful means of dedication and the skillful means of rescuing sentient beings. Thus, Upaya Paramita is perfected. By practicing the Six Paramitas in the world, and through the yoga (union) of this Mudra and mantra, one can achieve vast merit with little effort, and quickly attain accomplishment.

唵迦嚕抳(尼貞反)賀賀賀糝

由結此印誦真言三遍。即滅無量劫惡愿業種。獲得二種勝愿。所謂求無上菩提愿。利樂有情願。即愿波羅蜜圓滿。從初發心乃至成佛。于其中間。所求世間出世間殊勝上愿皆得圓滿。

次結力波羅蜜菩薩印。準前戒波羅蜜印。禪智進力忍愿皆豎。頭相合。即誦真言曰。

唵娜么𩕳母你帝吽(引)賀賀賀吽(引)弱

由結此印誦真言三遍。即滅無量劫於世出世劣意業種。獲得二種力。所謂思擇力。修習力。于諸對治法。伏得諸煩惱斷諸惑障。修道時決定勝解。一切天魔惡友不能移易。獲得不退轉。

次結智波羅蜜菩薩印。二手外相叉作拳檀慧直豎。互交少分。屈進力頭相拄令圓。忍愿直豎頭相合。即誦真言曰。

由結此印誦真言三遍。即滅無量劫俱生我執種俱生法執種。獲得二種受用智。所謂受用法樂智。成就有情智。斷二種障。所謂煩惱障。所知障。證得一切法如幻如陽焰如夢如影像如谷響如光影如水月如變化如因陀羅網如虛空。不久滿足十地。住法雲地為大法師

接著結力波羅蜜菩薩印。與之前的戒波羅蜜印相似,禪定、智慧、精進、力量、忍辱、願力都豎立起來,指尖相合。然後誦持真言說:

通過結此印並誦持真言三遍,就能滅除無量劫以來俱生我執的種子和俱生法執的種子。獲得兩種受用智。即:受用法樂智,成就有情智。斷除兩種障礙。即:煩惱障,所知障。證得一切法如幻、如陽焰、如夢、如影像、如谷響、如光影、如水月、如變化、如因陀羅網、如虛空。不久就能滿足十地,安住於法云地,成為大法師。

Next, form the Mudra (hand gesture) of the Wish-Fulfilling Paramita (perfection) Bodhisattva. Extend the right hand straight up, with the palm facing outward in a gesture of fearlessness. Then recite the mantra:

Om Karuni (ni zhen fan) Haha Ha Sam

By forming this Mudra and reciting the mantra three times, one can extinguish the seeds of evil vows and karma from countless kalpas (eons), and obtain two kinds of supreme wishes: the wish to seek unsurpassed Bodhi, and the wish to benefit and bring joy to all sentient beings. Thus, the Wish-Fulfilling Paramita is perfected. From the initial aspiration until becoming a Buddha, all worldly and transcendental supreme wishes sought in between will be fulfilled.

Next, form the Mudra of the Strength Paramita Bodhisattva. Similar to the Mudra of the Precept Paramita, the fingers of Dhyana (meditation), Wisdom, Progress, Strength, Patience, and Vow are all extended straight up, with their tips touching each other. Then recite the mantra:

Om Nama 𩕳 Muni Di Hum (long sound) Haha Ha Hum (long sound) Ruo

By forming this Mudra and reciting the mantra three times, one can extinguish the seeds of inferior intentional karma related to worldly and transcendental matters from countless kalpas, and obtain two kinds of strength: the strength of discernment and the strength of practice. With regard to all antidotal practices, one can subdue all afflictions, sever all delusions and obstacles, and have decisive and superior understanding during the path of cultivation. All celestial demons and evil friends cannot move or change one's resolve, and one obtains non-retrogression.

Next, form the Mudra of the Wisdom Paramita Bodhisattva. Cross the hands outward to form fists, with the fingers of Dana (generosity) and Wisdom extended straight up, slightly overlapping each other. Bend the fingers of Progress and Strength, with their tips touching each other to form a circle. Extend the fingers of Patience and Vow straight up, with their tips touching each other. Then recite the mantra:

Om Mama Jñāna (two combined sounds, long sound) Kari Hum (long sound) Svaha (two combined sounds)

By forming this Mudra and reciting the mantra three times, one can extinguish the seeds of innate self-attachment and innate dharma-attachment from countless kalpas, and obtain two kinds of experiential wisdom: the wisdom of experiencing the bliss of Dharma, and the wisdom of accomplishing sentient beings. One can sever two kinds of obstacles: afflictive obstacles and cognitive obstacles. One realizes that all dharmas (phenomena) are like illusions, like mirages, like dreams, like reflections, like echoes, like shadows, like the moon in water, like transformations, like Indra's net, like empty space. Before long, one will fulfill the ten Bhumis (grounds) and dwell in the Dharma Cloud Bhumi, becoming a great Dharma master.


次結白衣觀自在菩薩印。二手內相叉作拳。豎進力頭相拄令圓。禪智並豎誦真言曰。

Next, form the Mudra of White-Robed Avalokiteśvara (Avalokiteśvara). Interlock the hands inward to form fists. Erect the tips of the index and ring fingers, touching them to form a circle. Erect the middle and little fingers, and recite the mantra:

Namo ratna-trayāya. Namaḥ ārya-valokiteśvarāya. Bodhisattvāya. Mahāsattvāya. Mahā-kāruṇikāya. Darśana-spṛśana-abhyāṃ ava. Śravaṇa-smaraṇīna vaśya-vaṇa. Sarva-sattvānāṃ. Sarva-vyādhi-kṣa-ka. Tadyathā: Kara-vikara karaṅka-kara. Kaṭa-vikaṭa karaṅka-kara. Bhaga-vati vijaye svāhā.

By forming this Mudra and reciting the mantra seven times, due to the blessings of the Holy Mother of the Lotus Family, all demons and Vinayakas (Vinayaka, obstacle-creating deities) will not be able to take advantage. From the beginning of performing the preliminary practices until the time of seeking accomplishment, dedicate the number of recitations to this deity. Even if one leaves the place of recitation, or inadvertently violates the three karmas of body, speech, and mind, breaking the Samaya (Samaya, vows), all the recitation work will be counted towards the number of preliminary accomplishments, and the merits will not be wasted, and one will surely obtain Siddhi (Siddhi, accomplishment). Or if there are evil people who create obstacles for no reason, visualize that person at the feet of the yogi, and recite the mantra twenty-one times. All those who create obstacles will completely dissipate, treat each other with compassion, and will no longer be able to create obstacles.

如果結此印並誦持真言三遍,無量劫以來積聚的十不善黑業,都將消滅。一切善品白法無漏圓寂之功德,皆得圓滿。瑜伽行者如果長期修持真言,忽然產生疑惑,想要知道未來事情的成敗善惡,可以在想要睡眠時,用衣服蓋住頭部,用右手以順時針方向摩擦面部,誦持此大白真言二十一遍,然後向右側臥倒。離開一切思緒,唯獨觀想大白觀自在菩薩(Mahākaruṇādharmarāja)。睡著后不久,就會夢見老人或者國王。

【English Translation】 English version Cross the hands, with the two middle fingers slightly separated and erect. This mudra is formed by erecting both the wisdom and meditation mudras together. The mantra is:

'Namo ratna-trayāya (1) Namaḥ Ārya-Avalokiteśvarāya (2) Bodhisattvāya (3) Mahāsattvāya (4) Mahākāruṇikāya (5) Tadyathā (6) Śvete (7) Śvetāṅge (8) Śveta-bhuje (9) Śveta-vastre (10) Śveta-māle (11) Raṇa-kṛte (12) Jaye Vijaye (13) Arte Arārte (14) Sarva-siddha-namaskṛte (15) Hili Mili Kili (16) Darśaya Sādhaya Svāhā (17)'

By forming this mudra and reciting the mantra three times, the ten non-virtuous black karmas accumulated over countless kalpas will be extinguished. All virtuous white dharmas, free from outflows and perfect tranquility, will be fulfilled. If a yogi, after practicing the mantra for a long time, suddenly has doubts and wants to know the success or failure, good or evil of future events, he can cover his head with a cloth when he wants to sleep, rub his face clockwise with his right hand, recite this Great White Mantra twenty-one times, and then lie down on his right side. Abandon all thoughts and only contemplate the Great White Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva (Mahākaruṇādharmarāja). After falling asleep for a short while, he will dream of an old man or a king.


凈行。見白衣少年婦人。或見華果種種吉祥勝事。當知未來克獲成就殊勝吉祥。若夢中見旃陀羅。身著垢弊破衣服。或見女人醜惡形容。或見不吉祥之物。當知所求事不成必有障礙。

If in a dream one sees a Candala (outcaste) wearing dirty, torn clothes, or sees an ugly woman, or sees inauspicious things, know that the desired matter will not succeed and there will certainly be obstacles. Next, form the Tara Bodhisattva mudra (hand gesture). Following the previous Great White mudra, bring the tips of the index and ring fingers together like a needle. The mantra is: Namo ratna-trayāya. Namo ārya-Avalokiteśvarāya. Bodhisattvāya. Mahāsattvāya. Mahākāruṇikāya. Tadyathā: Om, tāre tuttāre ture svāhā. Next, form the fundamental mudra of the principal deity, Thousand-Handed, Thousand-Eyed Avalokiteśvara (觀自在菩薩). With both hands in Vajra Añjali Mudra (金剛合掌), the two degrees of forbearance and vow (忍願二度, middle and ring fingers) are joined together, and the four degrees of generosity, wisdom, meditation, and knowledge (檀慧禪智四度, index finger, little finger, thumb) are opened, each standing upright, thus completing the mudra. 【English Translation】 English version: After reciting the Ni seven times, scatter the hand seal on the crown of the head. Then form the fundamental mudra (hand seal) and recite this Dharani (a sacred utterance or mantra). It can accomplish four kinds of achievements: first, pacifying disasters; second, increasing benefits; third, subduing; and fourth, attracting love and summoning all hopes. Both worldly and otherworldly rewards can be fulfilled as desired. If there are accomplishment methods not mentioned in this teaching, use the methods from the Lotus family. Performing this in front of the image will surely lead to accomplishment.

Next, form the mudra for blessing the prayer beads. Take the lotus seed prayer beads in your palms, bring your palms together at your heart, and recite the mantra for purifying the beads seven times. The mantra is:

Om(Om) Virocana(Virocana) Mala Svaha(Svaha)

Then, raise the beads and place them on the crown of your head. After that, use the meditation finger (middle finger) and precept finger (ring finger) of your left hand to turn the beads, and the wisdom finger (index finger) and method finger (thumb) of your right hand to turn the beads. Keep the remaining six fingers upright in front of your heart, about two or three inches apart. Bless the beads with the thousand-turn mantra seven times. The mantra is:

Then, gather the five fingers of each hand, like an unopened lotus flower. Use the wisdom finger (index finger) and method finger (thumb) to move the beads, reciting the Thousand-Handed, Thousand-Eyed Dharani once, moving one bead in unison with the sound of 'Svaha'. Recite in this way, neither too fast nor too slow, without uttering any calls. Make each word of the mantra clear and distinct. Recite silently, away from all distractions, focusing single-mindedly on the principal deity (Deity), without clinging to other realms. Recite either a hundred or a thousand times, always fixing a number. After completing the recitation, raise the beads and place them on the crown of your head, sincerely making vows and returning the beads to their original place. Those who practice Yoga (spiritual practices) should seek unsurpassed Bodhi (enlightenment), generating great pure faith, with every thought being sincere. Deeply cultivate compassion for all sentient beings, wishing to relieve and rescue them. With a determined mind that does not waver, diligently and tirelessly pursue the desired Siddhi (spiritual power or attainment). From the beginning of performing preliminary recitations and services, until the time of seeking Siddhi, the time should not be interrupted, the place should not be changed, and the number of recitations should not be lacking. In a pure room, at all four times or three times of the day, recite with sincerity.

【English Translation】 English version: Before the image of the principal deity (本尊像), constantly prepare external offerings according to your ability, without interruption. By practicing in this way according to the teachings, you will soon attain great accomplishments. After completing this contemplation of wisdom and recitation, form the mudra (印) of the principal deity again and recite the root dharani (根本陀羅尼) three times. If you do not understand this mudra, recite the hundred-syllable mantra of the Lotus family (蓮華部) once. Scatter the mudra on the top of the head, the mantra is: 'Om Padmasattva (二合一) Samayam anupalaya (二) Padmasattva (二合三) Tvenopatisthra (二合四) Dridho me bhava (五) Suto 's me bhava (六) Anurakto me bhava (七) Suposo me bhava (八) Sarva siddhi prayaccha me (九) Sarva karma suca me (十) Cittam sriyam kuru (十一) Hum Ha ha ha ha hoh Bhagavan (十二) Sarva tathagata (十三) Padma ma me munca (十四) Padmi bhava (十五) Maha samayasattva ah (十六)' By the power of reciting the hundred-syllable mantra, it can make the samadhi (三摩地) of the principal deity firmly dwell in the body. Next, form the Mudra of Sending off the Holy Assembly. Like the Vajra (金剛) binding Mudra mentioned earlier, erect the forbearance and aspiration fingers straight and close together, resembling a lotus leaf. Place a flower on the tip of the Mudra and hold it. Recite the Mantra of Sending Off once. Scatter the Mudra on the crown of the head. 坐像面向南。于本尊前涂拭圓壇。觀本尊作白色。所獻華果飲食並自身衣服皆作白色。涂香用白檀。燒香用沉水。然酥燈。以慈心相應。從月一日初夜時起首。至月八日一期滿。每日三時澡浴三時換衣。至日滿時或斷食或食三白食。如是依法念誦。則能除滅災難業障重罪。或五星凌逼本命宿時。感招種種災禍口舌斗諍。王官逼迫家國不和。疾病饑儉鬼魅不祥。悉皆殄滅獲得吉祥。身心安樂所求如意。修世出世行愿無礙成就。

若作增益法者。面向東坐像面向西。本尊前涂拭方壇。觀本尊作黃色。所獻華果飲食並自身衣服等皆作黃色。涂香用白檀加少鬱金。燒白檀香。然油麻油燈。以喜悅心相應。從月九日日出時起首。至十五日一期滿。準前三時澡浴三時換衣。至日滿時準前斷食及三白食。如是念誦能遷官榮。及增壽命求福德聰慧名聞。或求伏藏豐財眷屬象馬。五穀成熟職仕王官。得勢得力所求勝事皆得增益。

若作敬愛法者。面向西坐像面向東。本尊前涂蓮華形壇。觀本尊作赤色。身著緋衣。所獻華果飲食等盡皆赤色。涂香用鬱金。燒香以丁香蘇合香蜜和燒之。然諸果油燈。以喜怒心相應。從十六日後夜時起首。至二十三日一期滿。至日滿時澡浴斷食法準前。如是念誦得一切人敬愛。若家不和國不和怨敵

【English Translation】 English version Sitting facing south. Smear a circular altar before the Ishtadevata (personal deity). Visualize the Ishtadevata as white. The flowers, fruits, food offerings, and one's own clothes should all be white. Use white sandalwood for incense. Burn aloeswood incense. Light ghee lamps. Correspond with a compassionate mind. Begin from the first night of the month and continue until the eighth day, completing one period. Bathe three times a day and change clothes three times a day. When the period is complete, either fast or consume the 'three white foods' (milk, yogurt, and ghee). Reciting in this way according to the Dharma can eliminate disasters, karmic obstacles, and heavy sins. Or, when the five planets approach one's natal star, it can avert various calamities, verbal disputes. Oppression by government officials, disharmony in family and country. Diseases, famine, inauspicious events caused by ghosts and spirits, all will be extinguished, and auspiciousness will be obtained. Body and mind will be at peace, and wishes will be fulfilled. Practicing worldly and other-worldly vows will be unobstructed and accomplished.

If performing the practice of increasing benefits, sit facing east with the image facing west. Smear a square altar before the Ishtadevata. Visualize the Ishtadevata as yellow. The flowers, fruits, food offerings, and one's own clothes, etc., should all be yellow. Use white sandalwood incense with a little turmeric added. Burn white sandalwood incense. Light sesame oil lamps. Correspond with a joyful mind. Begin from sunrise on the ninth day of the month and continue until the fifteenth day, completing one period. As before, bathe three times a day and change clothes three times a day. When the period is complete, fast or consume the 'three white foods' as before. Reciting in this way can promote official advancement and increase lifespan, seeking merit, wisdom, and fame. Or seeking hidden treasures, abundant wealth, retinue, elephants and horses, abundant harvests of the five grains, success in official positions, gaining power and strength, all desired auspicious events will be increased.

If performing the practice of love and respect, sit facing west with the image facing east. Smear a lotus-shaped altar before the Ishtadevata. Visualize the Ishtadevata as red, wearing crimson clothes. The flowers, fruits, food offerings, etc., should all be red. Use turmeric for incense. Burn clove and storax incense mixed with honey. Light lamps with various fruit oils. Correspond with a mind of joy and anger. Begin from the latter half of the night of the sixteenth day and continue until the twenty-third day, completing one period. When the period is complete, the method of bathing and fasting is the same as before. Reciting in this way can gain the love and respect of all people. Furthermore, for those who wish to possess eloquence in Dharma talks, authoritative speech, delighting listeners, receiving blessings from sages, and pleasing all the eight classes of gods and dragons (Naga), one should sincerely recite according to this method, and the desired wishes will be quickly fulfilled.

If performing subjugation rituals, sit facing south with the Buddha image facing north. Paint a triangular altar in front of the Ishtadevata (tutelary deity). Visualize the Ishtadevata as being blue or black in color, wearing blue-black clothing. Offer blue flowers, foul-smelling flowers (non-fragrant flowers), and Mandala flowers, etc. Use pomegranate juice to dye food black or blue. Use cypress for incense. Use cow urine for Arghya (holy water). Take small portions of black flowers, mustard seeds, cypress incense, etc., and place them in the Arghya wood. Burn benzoin incense. Light mustard oil lamps. Correspond with a wrathful mind. Recite the Hayagriva (horse-headed deity) mantra, or the Ekajati (one-髻尊) mantra, the messenger of the Lotus family. Begin from noon or midnight on the twenty-fourth day and continue until the end of the month, completing one cycle. On the day of completion, the method of bathing and fasting is as before. They will then be able to avoid disasters and suffering, seek the supreme Siddhi (spiritual attainment) in transcending the world, quickly perfect the two accumulations of merit and wisdom, and fulfill the ten Bhumi (stages) of Paramita (perfection), transcending three Asamkhya kalpas (innumerable great eons).

If one can practice in this way, whether in deep mountain valleys, excellent caves, or pure Sangharama (Sangharama), during four months of the four seasons, concentrate diligently on recitation, silently cutting off speech, encouraging body and mind, and not indulging in sleep and laziness. Then, together with companions and disciples who know the Dharma, set a limited time, date, month, and year, and with great diligence day and night, like a person drilling wood to make fire, do not interrupt, in order to seek the manifestation of the three signs, namely warmth, smoke, and light. When a yogi is close to accomplishment, various obstacles will arise, and one should perform homa (fire ritual) for subduing, pacifying disasters, etc. According to the superior, middle, and inferior accomplishment objects, either holding them, or applying them to the body, or riding them, or holding them in the hand, one can fly through the sky, and can help companions and knowledge. Or someone sees the accomplished one, or the accomplished one sees that person, in short, they can all fly, travel to various worlds, make offerings to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and all can have a lifespan of one great kalpa. Obtain the first bhumi (first stage of a Bodhisattva's path) hundred gates of understanding. If one only relies on this recitation method, either one time, two times, three times, or four times, in a clean room, facing the deity image, forming mudras (hand gestures) and reciting, constantly without interruption, in this life one will surely obtain purification of the three karmas (body, speech, and mind). The worldly glory, wealth, and honor that one seeks can all be achieved, obtaining abundant wealth, and being pleasing to people. Be well-versed in scriptures and treatises, and be famous in all directions. All Buddhas and Bodhisattvas protect and bless, sleep peacefully, wake up peacefully, and all demons cannot harm.
