唐北天竺三藏沙門大廣智不空奉 詔譯
依灌頂道場經。說修陀羅尼法門。求速出離生死大海。疾證無上菩提者。應須先入諸佛如來海會灌頂道場。受灌頂已發歡喜心。從師親受唸誦法則。後於凈室山林流水。最為上勝。建立道場安置本尊。修真言者面向東方。應以瞿摩夷涂拭其地。以白檀香摩為香泥。以用涂壇。或方或圓隨意大小。而於壇上散華燒香供養。取二凈器盛滿香水。安置壇中以用供養。行者澡浴或不澡浴悉無障礙。但當運心思惟觀察。一切眾生本性清凈。為諸客塵之所覆蔽。不見清凈真如法性。為令清凈故。應當至心念此真言三遍七遍。真言曰。
唵(引)娑嚩(二合)婆嚩戍馱薩嚩馱么娑嚩(二合)婆嚩戍度憾
由此真言加持故。身口意業悉得清凈。然後五輪著地。歸命禮十方一切諸佛諸大菩薩方廣大乘。右膝著地懺悔隨喜勸請發願。
歸命十方等正覺 最勝妙法菩薩眾 以身口意清凈業 慇勤合掌恭敬禮 無始輪迴諸有中 身口意業所生罪 如佛菩薩所懺悔 我今陳懺亦如是 諸佛菩薩行愿中 金剛三業所生福

【English Translation】 English version No. 1066 Abridged Ritual for Practicing and Reciting the Great Compassion Dharani Translated by Tripiṭaka Master Da Guang Zhi Bu Kong from Northern India of the Tang Dynasty under Imperial Decree According to the Guan Ding Dao Chang Jing (灌頂道場經, Scripture of the Abhisheka Mandala), to practice the Dharani method, seeking swift liberation from the sea of birth and death, and quickly attain unsurpassed Bodhi, one should first enter the Abhisheka Mandala of the assembly of all Buddhas and Tathagatas. After receiving Abhisheka, generate a joyful mind, and personally receive the rules for recitation from the teacher. Afterwards, establishing a mandala in a clean room or in the mountains by flowing water is most excellent. Place the principal deity in the mandala. The practitioner of the mantra should face east, and should smear the ground with cow dung (瞿摩夷, Ghee). Grind white sandalwood into fragrant mud and use it to smear the altar. The shape of the altar can be square or round, and the size can be according to preference. Scatter flowers and burn incense for offerings on the altar. Take two clean vessels filled with fragrant water and place them in the mandala for offerings. Whether the practitioner bathes or does not bathe is not an obstacle. One should contemplate and observe that the inherent nature of all sentient beings is pure, but it is covered and obscured by various adventitious defilements. They cannot see the pure Suchness Dharma-nature. In order to purify it, one should sincerely recite this mantra three or seven times. The mantra is: Oṃ svabhāva śuddhaḥ sarva dharmāḥ svabhāva śuddho 'ham Due to the empowerment of this mantra, the karma of body, speech, and mind will be purified. Then, with the five wheels (limbs) touching the ground, take refuge and pay homage to all Buddhas, all great Bodhisattvas, and the Vaipulya Mahayana in the ten directions. With the right knee on the ground, confess, rejoice, request, and make vows. I take refuge in the Samyak-saṃbuddhas (等正覺, Perfectly Enlightened Ones) of the ten directions, the most excellent Dharma, and the Bodhisattva Sangha. With the pure karma of body, speech, and mind, I respectfully bow with palms together. In the various realms of beginningless Samsara, the sins arising from the karma of body, speech, and mind, As the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas have confessed, I now confess in the same way. In the vows and practices of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the merits arising from the Vajra three karmas.
緣覺聲聞及有情 所集善根盡隨喜 一切世燈坐道場 覺眼開敷照三有 我今胡跪先勸請 轉于無上妙法輪 所有如來三界主 臨槃無餘涅槃者 我皆勸請令久住 不捨悲願救世間 懺悔勸請隨喜福 愿我不失菩提心 諸佛菩薩妙眾中 常為善友不厭舍 離於八難生無難 宿命住智相嚴身 遠離愚癡具悲智 悉能滿足波羅蜜 富樂豐饒生勝族 眷屬廣多常熾盛 四無礙辯十自在 六通諸禪悉圓滿 如金剛幢及普賢 愿贊迴向亦如是
次禮本尊及諸聖眾真言曰。

由此真言作禮故。本尊聖眾受為主宰。次對本尊前結跏趺坐或半跏趺坐。起大悲心我修此法。為一切眾生速出生死大海。疾證無上正等菩提。先磨諸香以用涂手。然後結于佛部三昧耶印。
以二手虛心合掌。開二頭指屈輔二中指上節。二大指屈輔二頭指下節。其印即成。置印當心。想于如來三十二相八十種好。了了分明如對目前。至心誦真言七遍。真言曰。
唵怛他誐姤那婆(二合)嚩野沙嚩(二合)賀
由此印及誦真言故。即驚覺一切如來。悉當護念加持行者。以光明照觸我身。所有罪障皆得消滅。壽命延遠福德增長。佛部

【English Translation】 English version I rejoice in all the roots of virtue accumulated by Pratyekabuddhas (those who attain enlightenment independently), Śrāvakas (those who attain enlightenment by hearing the teachings), and all sentient beings. May all the lamps of the world, the Buddhas, sit in the Bodhi-mandala (enlightenment seat), open their eyes of awakening, and illuminate the three realms (desire realm, form realm, formless realm). I kneel respectfully and first implore the Buddhas to turn the unsurpassed and profound Dharma wheel. All the Tathāgatas (Thus Come Ones), lords of the three realms, those Buddhas who are about to enter Parinirvana (complete Nirvana). I implore them to abide in the world for a long time, not to abandon their vows of compassion, and to save the world. Through the merit of repentance, supplication, and rejoicing, may I never lose the Bodhicitta (mind of enlightenment). In the wonderful assembly of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, may I always have good friends who never tire of me or abandon me. May I be free from the eight difficulties (eight unfavorable conditions for practice), be born in a place free from suffering, possess knowledge of past lives and wisdom, and manifest a body adorned with auspicious marks. May I be free from ignorance, possess compassion and wisdom, and be able to fulfill all the Pāramitās (perfections). May I live in wealth and happiness, be born into a noble family, and have a large and ever-flourishing retinue. May I possess the four unimpeded eloquence and the ten freedoms, and may the six supernormal powers and all the Dhyānas (meditative states) be perfected. Like Vajradhvaja (Vajra Banner) Bodhisattva and Samantabhadra (Universal Virtue) Bodhisattva, may my praise and dedication be like theirs.
Next, prostrate to the Iṣṭadevatā (personal deity) and all the holy assembly, reciting the mantra:
Oṃ Padmo Ve
By the virtue of prostrating with this mantra, may the Iṣṭadevatā and the holy assembly accept my prostration and become my masters. Next, sit in the lotus position or half-lotus position in front of the Iṣṭadevatā. Generate great compassion, I practice this Dharma so that all sentient beings may quickly escape the ocean of birth and death and swiftly attain Anuttarā-samyak-saṃbodhi (unexcelled complete enlightenment). First, rub fragrant incense on your hands, and then form the Buddha-kula Samaya mudrā (vow seal).
With both hands held together with empty palms, extend the two index fingers, bend them and rest them on the upper joints of the two middle fingers. Bend the two thumbs and rest them on the lower joints of the two index fingers. The mudrā is thus formed. Place the mudrā in front of your heart. Visualize the thirty-two marks and eighty minor marks of the Tathāgata, clearly and distinctly as if they were right before your eyes. Sincerely recite the mantra seven times. The mantra is:
Oṃ tathāgatodbhavāya svāhā
By the virtue of this mudrā and reciting this mantra, all the Tathāgatas will be awakened. All the Buddhas will protect and bless the practitioner, illuminate my body with light, and all my sins and obstacles will be eliminated, my lifespan will be extended, and my merit will increase. 聖眾擁護歡喜。生生世世離諸惡趣。蓮華化生。速證無上正等菩提。
次結蓮華部三昧耶印。

由此印及誦真言故。即覺悟觀自在等持蓮華者。一切菩薩蓮華部聖眾。悉皆歡喜加持護念。一切菩薩光明照觸其身。所有業障皆得除滅。一切菩薩常為善友。
次結金剛部三昧耶印。
以左手翻掌向外。以右手掌背安左手背。用左右大指小指。手相鉤如金剛杵形。置印當心。想金剛手菩薩。誦真言七遍頂左散之。真言曰。

由此印及誦真言故。警覺金剛部聖眾。一切持金剛者加持擁護。所有罪障悉皆除滅。一切痛苦不著于身。當得金剛堅固之體。

以手內相叉右押左。豎二中指頭相拄。屈二頭指如鉤形。于中指背勿令相著。並二大指押二無名指。即成。印身五處。所謂額次左右肩次心喉。于頂上散印。各誦真言一遍。真言曰。
唵嚩日啰(二合)擬𩕳(二合)缽啰(二

兩手以虛心合掌,散開兩個食指、兩個中指、兩個無名指,彎曲成蓮花形狀,將印安在心前。觀想觀自在(Avalokiteśvara)的相好莊嚴具足。誦持真言七遍,于頭頂右方散印。真言曰:

以左手翻掌向外,以右手掌背安放在左手背上,用左右拇指和小指互相鉤住,形成金剛杵(Vajra)的形狀。將印置於心前,觀想金剛手菩薩(Vajrapani)。誦持真言七遍,于頭頂左方散印。真言曰:
唵(引)嚩日嚕(二合)那婆(二合)嚩野娑嚩(二合)賀(引)
由於此印及誦持真言的緣故,警覺金剛部聖眾。一切持金剛者加持擁護,所有罪障全部消除,一切痛苦不沾染于身,當得金剛堅固之體。
接著結護身三昧耶印(Samaya-mudra for self-protection):
兩手于內交叉,右手壓在左手上,豎起兩個中指,指尖相拄,彎曲兩個食指成鉤形,于中指背部不要讓其相接觸,並用兩個大拇指壓住兩個無名指,這樣就結成了。用此印印身五處,即額頭、左右肩膀、心、喉嚨,于頭頂上散印。各誦真言一遍。真言曰:

【English Translation】 English version: The holy assembly protects and rejoices, being separated from all evil destinies in life after life, being born from a lotus flower, and quickly attaining Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi (unsurpassed complete enlightenment).
Next, form the Samaya-mudra of the Padma family (Lotus family):
With both hands, bring the palms together with a hollow space inside. Spread open the two index fingers, two middle fingers, and two ring fingers, bending them into the shape of a lotus flower. Place the mudra at the heart. Visualize Avalokiteśvara (the Bodhisattva of Compassion) with all his excellent marks and qualities complete. Recite the mantra seven times and scatter the mudra over the right side of the head. The mantra is:
Om Padmanabhava Svaha
By virtue of this mudra and the recitation of the mantra, one awakens to the Samadhi-lotus of Avalokiteśvara. All the holy assembly of the Padma family of Bodhisattvas rejoice, bestow their blessings, and protect. The light of all Bodhisattvas shines upon and touches the body, and all karmic obstacles are eliminated. All Bodhisattvas are always good friends.
Next, form the Samaya-mudra of the Vajra family (Diamond family):
Turn the left palm outward. Place the back of the right palm on the back of the left hand. Hook the left and right thumbs and little fingers together, forming the shape of a Vajra (diamond scepter). Place the mudra at the heart. Visualize Vajrapani (the Bodhisattva who wields the Vajra). Recite the mantra seven times and scatter the mudra over the left side of the head. The mantra is:
Om Vajranabhava Svaha
By virtue of this mudra and the recitation of the mantra, the holy assembly of the Vajra family is awakened. All Vajra-holders bestow their blessings and protect. All sins and obstacles are completely eliminated. All suffering does not cling to the body. One will attain a Vajra-firm body.
Next, form the Samaya-mudra for self-protection:
Cross the hands inward, with the right hand pressing on the left. Erect the two middle fingers, touching their tips together. Bend the two index fingers into the shape of hooks, without allowing them to touch the backs of the middle fingers. Press the two thumbs on the two ring fingers. This completes the mudra. Use this mudra to mark the five places on the body: the forehead, then the left and right shoulders, then the heart, and the throat. Scatter the mudra over the top of the head. Recite the mantra once for each place. The mantra is:
Om Vajra-agni Prana
合)你缽多(二合)野娑嚩(二合)賀
由結此印及誦真言加持故。即成被金剛甲冑。所有毗那夜迦及諸魔作障礙者退散馳走。悉見行者光明被身威德自在。若居山林及在險難皆悉無畏。水火等災一切厄難。虎狼師子刀杖枷鎖。如是等事悉皆消滅見者歡喜。命終已后不墮惡趣。當生諸佛凈妙國土。
次結金剛輪大菩薩大威德契已。入曼拏羅者受得三世無障礙三種律儀。由入曼拏羅身心備十微塵剎世界微塵數三摩耶無作禁戒。或因屈身俯仰發言吐氣起心動念。廢忘菩提之心退失善根。以此印契密言殊勝方便誦持作意。能除違犯愆咎。三摩耶如故倍加光顯。能凈身口意故。則成入一切曼拏羅。獲得灌頂三摩耶。應結印誦真言七遍。二羽內相叉。豎二定。以二念糾二定。二慧並申直。安契當於心。誠心誦七遍。真言曰。

誦此真言時作是觀念。盡虛空界遍法界生死六

通過結此手印並誦持真言加持,即可成就金剛甲冑護身。所有毗那夜迦(Vinayaka,像頭神)及諸魔所作的障礙都會退散逃離。所有人都看到修行者全身散發光明,威德自在。如果居住在山林或處於險難之地,都將毫無畏懼。水火等災難,一切厄難,虎狼獅子,刀杖枷鎖等事,都將消滅,見者歡喜。命終之後,不會墮入惡趣,將往生諸佛清凈美妙的國土。

誦此真言時,作這樣的觀想:盡虛空界,遍法界生死六
【English Translation】 English version: Nipataya Svaha (Offering, Completion).
By forming this mudra (hand gesture) and reciting the mantra, one is protected by the Vajra armor. All Vinayakas (Ganesha) and demons who create obstacles will retreat and flee. Everyone will see the practitioner radiating light, with majestic power and freedom. If one lives in the mountains or is in a dangerous place, they will have no fear. Disasters such as fire and water, all calamities, tigers, wolves, lions, swords, staves, shackles, and such things will be extinguished, and those who see it will rejoice. After death, one will not fall into evil realms but will be reborn in the pure and wonderful lands of the Buddhas.
Next, form the mudra of the great power and virtue of the Vajra Wheel Great Bodhisattva. Those who enter the Mandala (sacred enclosure) will receive the three vows of unobstructedness in the three times (past, present, future). Because of entering the Mandala, the body and mind are equipped with the Samayas (vows) and non-action precepts as numerous as the dust motes in ten micro-cosmic world-systems. Or because of bending, stretching, bowing, speaking, exhaling, arising thoughts, forgetting the mind of Bodhi, and losing good roots, by means of this mudra, secret mantra, and excellent skillful means, reciting and focusing the mind, one can eliminate transgressions and faults. The Samaya remains as before, even more radiant. Being able to purify body, speech, and mind, one thus accomplishes entering all Mandalas and obtains the Samaya of empowerment. One should form the mudra and recite the mantra seven times. The two hands are crossed inward, the two Madhyama (middle fingers) are erected, the two Tarjani (index fingers) are entwined around the two Madhyama (middle fingers), the two Anamika (ring fingers) are aligned and extended straight, and placed in front of the heart. Recite sincerely seven times. The mantra is:
Namas stridya adhvikānām Sarva tathāgatānām Am Vi raji vi raji Mahācakra vajri Sata sata Sarate sarate Trayi trayi Vidhamani Sam bhanjani Tramati siddha Giri tram Svaha.
While reciting this mantra, visualize this: the entire space, the entire Dharma realm, the cycle of birth and death of the six
趣有情。速得入普集會大曼拏羅。等同聖者。
次結定印入四無量心觀。初入慈無量心定。以殷凈心遍緣。六道四生一切有情。皆具如來藏備三種身口意金剛。以我修三密功德力故。愿一切有情。等同普賢菩薩。如是觀已。即誦大悲三摩地真言曰。
唵(引)摩賀昧怛啰(二合)野 娑 頗 啰

Next, form the meditation mudra and enter the contemplation of the Four Immeasurable Minds. First, enter the Samadhi of Immeasurable Loving-kindness. With a sincere and pure mind, universally contemplate all sentient beings in the six realms and four forms of birth, all possessing the Tathagatagarbha (the womb of the Tathagata) and endowed with the three Vajras (indestructible qualities) of body, speech, and mind. Through the power of my practice of the three secrets (of body, speech, and mind), may all sentient beings become equal to Samantabhadra Bodhisattva (representing the virtue of practice and vows). Having contemplated in this way, recite the Great Compassion Samadhi mantra:
Om Maha Maitraya Spha Ra
Next, enter the wisdom of the Samadhi of Immeasurable Compassion. With a compassionate mind, universally contemplate all sentient beings in the six realms and four forms of birth, drowning in the sea of suffering of birth and death, not awakening to their own minds, falsely generating discriminations, and giving rise to various afflictions and karmas. Therefore, they do not realize the Suchness (true nature) that is equal to emptiness. Generate merits like the sands of the Ganges River. Through the power of my practice of the three secrets, may all sentient beings become equal to Akasagarbha Bodhisattva (representing boundless wisdom and compassion). Having contemplated in this way, recite the Great Compassion Samadhi mantra:
Om Maha Karunaya Spha Ra
Next, enter the wisdom of the Samadhi of Immeasurable Joy. With a pure mind, universally contemplate all sentient beings in the six realms and four forms of birth, originally pure like the lotus flower, unstained by external dust, and pure in their self-nature. Through the power of my practice of the three secrets, may all sentient beings become equal to Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva (the Bodhisattva of Compassion). Having contemplated in this way, recite the Great Joy Samadhi mantra:
Om Shuddha Pra Modana Spha Ra
Next, enter the wisdom of the Samadhi of Immeasurable Equanimity. With an equal mind, universally contemplate all sentient beings in the six realms and four forms of birth, all free from 'I' and 'mine,' free from the five skandhas (aggregates), the twelve ayatanas (sense bases), and the eighteen dhatus (elements), free from the grasper and the grasped, and equal in all dharmas (phenomena). The mind is originally unborn, and its nature is empty. Through the power of my practice of the three secrets, may all sentient beings become equal to Akasagarbha Bodhisattva. Having contemplated in this way, recite the Great Equanimity Samadhi mantra:
Om Maha Upeksha Spha

修真言者。由習四無量心定誦真言故。所有人天種種魔難業障悉皆滅除。頓集無量福智。身心調柔堪任自在。

由於這個真言印的加持,本尊菩薩不會違背本來的誓願,將各位聖眾帶來赴道場,加持修行者迅速圓滿本來的願望。
接下來結馬首明王印,用於辟除和結界。

【English Translation】 English version: Ra (Dvyaksharagami)
Those who practice mantra, by cultivating the Samadhi of the Four Immeasurable Minds and reciting mantras, can eliminate all kinds of demonic difficulties and karmic obstacles of humans and devas, quickly accumulate immeasurable merits and wisdom, and make their body and mind supple and capable of freedom.
Next, form the Mudra of the Wheel Mandala.
Make Vajra fists with both hands. The index and middle fingers are interlocked. Place the Mudra at the mouth and recite the mantra, which enables entry into all Mandalas. Then place it on the crown of the head, so that all places where the practice site is established become a great Mandala, as if the principal deity personally established the Wheel Mandala. The mantra is:
Om Vajra Chakra Hum Tram Hum Vam Hoh
By forming this Mudra and reciting the mantra for blessing, even if the practitioner violates the Dharma, makes mistakes in the three karmas of body, speech, and mind, or breaks the Samaya vows, they can eliminate all faults and attain perfection.
Next, form the Mudra for Inviting the Principal Deity.
Cross the hands inward to form a fist, tuck the left thumb into the palm, and use the right thumb to beckon towards oneself. The mantra is:
Om Aralike Ehi Ehi Svaha
Through the blessing of this mantra and Mudra, the principal deity Bodhisattva will not violate their original vows, and will bring all the holy beings to attend the practice site, blessing the practitioner to quickly fulfill their original vows.
Next, form the Hayagriva (Horse-Headed) Vidyaraja Mudra for purification and establishing boundaries.
Join the palms together. Bend the two index fingers and ring fingers, with the backs of the nails touching inside the palms. Erect and open the two thumbs to form the Mudra. Rotate the Mudra three times to the left, visualizing the expulsion of all those who create obstacles, demons, spirits, and Vinayakas scattering and fleeing. Rotate the Mudra three times to the right and wave it up and down, thus forming a firm and great boundary. The mantra is:
Om Amrita Udbhava Hum Phat Svaha
Next, offer Arghya (water for offering) with fragrant water.
Hold the Arghya vessel with both hands, filled with fragrant water and seasonal flowers, and offer it before the forehead. The mantra is:

【English Translation】 English version Meṁ Svāhā:
Through offering Ārghya (special offering water) and fragrant water, may the practitioner's three karmas (body, speech, and mind) be purified, washing away all afflictions and defilements, from the stage of Adhimukti-caryā-bhūmi (stage of conduct in superior intention) to the tenth Bhumi (stage) and the Tathāgata-bhūmi (Buddha stage). When attaining such Bhūmi-pāramitā (perfection of the stage), may one receive the nectar of Dharma water poured on the head by all Tathāgatas.
Next, form the Mudrā (hand gesture) of offering a seat:
Join both hands in the shape of a lotus, extend the two ring fingers, and bend the tips like an opening lotus flower. The mantra is:
Oṃ Kamala Svāhā:
By the power of this mantra and Mudrā, may the principal deity and holy assembly truly accept and sit upon the lotus throne.
Next, form the Mudrā of universal offering:
Join both hands slightly crossed, with the right hand pressing on the left, and place them in front of the heart. Recite the mantra five times, and from the Mudrā, emanate clouds of various offerings, including scented ointment, flower garlands, burning incense, food and drink, lamps, auspicious vases, and celestial music, universally offering them to all Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, principal deities, and holy assembly. The mantra is:
Namaḥ Sarva Tathāgatebhyo Viśvamukhebhyo Sarvathā Khaṃ Udgate Sphara Hīmaṃ Gagana Khaṃ Svāhā:
By the power of this mantra and Mudrā, may all Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, principal deities, and holy assembly receive true and vast offerings, naturally accomplished. Next, recite praises:
Kamala Mukha (lotus face), Kamala Locana (lotus eyes), Kamala Sana (lotus body), Kamala Hasta (lotus hands), Kamala Bhava (lotus born), Kamala Kamala Sambhava (lotus lotus born), Sakala Mala Kṣa (all defilements removed), Namaḥ Astu Te (homage to you).
Next, form the secret heart Mudrā of the principal deity, recite in accordance with the teachings, and contemplate the form and appearance of the principal deity.

大悲

大悲(Mahākaruṇā)
【English Translation】 English version Excellent, universally emitting immeasurable great light. All sentient beings who suffer, bathed and touched by the light, attain peace and happiness. After reciting this fundamental mantra seven times, scatter the hand seal above the head, like hanging ribbons.
Heart Seal: Join both hands in prayer, with the palms hollow. Join the wrists, and move the two index fingers back and forth.
The Holy Thousand-Handed, Thousand-Eyed Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva Mahāsattva's Great, Vast, Perfect, Unobstructed Great Compassion Dhāraṇī Mantra, as stated in the scripture.
Next, take the rosary, hold it in your hands, place it on your head, and bless it seven times. The mantra says:
Oṃ(ōng) Vairochana(wěi lù zuǒ nǎng) mala(mó lā) svāhā(suō pó)(two combined)
Then, bless it seven times with the Thousand-Turning Mantra. The mantra says:
Oṃ(ōng) Vajra(wā rì là)(two combined) guhya(yǔ xì yě)(two combined) japa(rě bō) samaye(sān mó yì) hūṃ(hōng)
After the blessing, make this vow: May I and all sentient beings swiftly achieve the supreme vows of both the mundane and supramundane realms. Hold the rosary with both hands in front of the heart. Recite the mantra once, moving one bead with the sound of the last syllable. Not too fast, not too slow, not too high, not too low. Pronounce each syllable of the mantra clearly and distinctly. Or use the Vajra recitation method, with the tip of the tongue slightly moving, and the lips and teeth closed. Stay away from all distractions, and focus wholeheartedly on the principal deity, without clinging to other appearances. Recite either a thousand times or a hundred times, always fixing a number. After finishing the recitation, hold the rosary and prostrate, sincerely making vows. Place the rosary back in its original place, and again form the heart mudra of the principal deity, reciting the mantra. Scatter the hand seal as before.
Praise and make offerings with even greater diligence, and offer argha (purification water) again, reciting the original vows. Then use the Hayagriva (horse-headed) Vidyārāja mudra, rotate the mantra three times, accomplishing the dissolution of the boundary. As before, invite the Holy Ones to descend into the mudra, and flick the thumbs outward, indicating the sending off.
The mantra says:
Oṃ(ōng) Arulika(ā lū lì jiā) gagana(é nǐ) gagana(é nǐ) svāhā(suō pó)(two combined, lengthened)
After the practitioner has sent off the Holy Assembly, again form the meditation mudra and generate compassion. Bless yourself with the Three Families, put on armor, finish the bowing, bid farewell and retire, walking freely. Those who practice in this way according to the Dharma will quickly accumulate merit and wisdom, and attain supernatural powers. In this life, they will enter the Land of Joy, and in the next sixteen lives, they will attain perfect enlightenment.

問:何謂『心陀羅尼』? 答:『心』者,乃根本之義。『陀羅尼』(Dharani,總持)者,總攝憶持無量佛法之謂。心陀羅尼即是總攝諸佛心要之陀羅尼,持誦此陀羅尼,能速證菩提。
問:修行唸誦此陀羅尼有何功德? 答:此陀羅尼功德無量無邊,能滅一切罪,生一切福,能除一切病,滿一切愿。能令行者速得禪定,開智慧眼,成就一切功德。若人至誠唸誦,臨命終時,諸佛菩薩皆來迎接,往生極樂世界。
問:應如何修行唸誦此陀羅尼? 答:修行者應先凈身口意,端坐正念,觀想諸佛菩薩現於眼前。然後,以至誠之心,唸誦陀羅尼。唸誦時,音聲不宜過高,亦不宜過低,應字字分明,句句入心。唸誦遍數,隨個人情況而定,多多益善。唸誦完畢,應將功德迴向一切眾生,愿一切眾生皆得解脫。
問:唸誦此陀羅尼有何禁忌? 答:唸誦此陀羅尼,最重要的是心誠。若心不誠,則如木石無情,雖唸誦亦無益處。此外,唸誦時應避免雜念紛飛,應避免在不潔之處唸誦,應避免在飲酒食肉后唸誦。若能遵守這些禁忌,則唸誦功德必能增上。

Question: What is the 'Heart Dharani'? Answer: 'Heart' signifies the fundamental meaning. 'Dharani' (Dharani, Total Retention) means to comprehensively gather and remember immeasurable Buddha-dharmas. The Heart Dharani is the dharani that encompasses the essence of all Buddhas' hearts. Reciting this dharani enables one to quickly attain Bodhi (Enlightenment).
Question: What are the merits of practicing and reciting this dharani? Answer: The merits of this dharani are immeasurable and boundless. It can eradicate all sins, generate all blessings, remove all illnesses, and fulfill all wishes. It can enable practitioners to quickly attain Samadhi (meditative absorption), open the wisdom eye, and accomplish all merits. If a person recites it with utmost sincerity, all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will come to greet them at the time of death, and they will be reborn in the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss (Sukhavati).
Question: How should one practice and recite this dharani? Answer: Practitioners should first purify their body, speech, and mind, sit upright with correct mindfulness, and visualize all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas appearing before them. Then, with a sincere heart, recite the dharani. When reciting, the voice should not be too loud or too soft, and each word should be clear and each sentence should enter the heart. The number of recitations depends on individual circumstances; the more, the better. After reciting, one should dedicate the merits to all sentient beings, wishing that all sentient beings may attain liberation.
Question: What are the prohibitions for reciting this dharani? Answer: The most important thing when reciting this dharani is sincerity. If the heart is not sincere, it is like wood or stone without feeling, and reciting will be of no benefit. In addition, one should avoid scattered thoughts when reciting, avoid reciting in unclean places, and avoid reciting after drinking alcohol or eating meat. If one can abide by these prohibitions, the merits of recitation will surely increase.
