爾時,觀世音菩薩摩訶薩,歡喜踴躍,即從座位起身,偏袒右肩,合掌恭敬,禮佛足后,整理衣服,長跪叉手,向前稟白佛言:『世尊,我有一陀羅尼,名為不空罥索心王陀羅尼真言三昧耶法。在過去九十一劫,于那最後之劫中,有佛出世,名世間自在王如來應正等覺明行圓滿善逝世間解無上士調御丈夫天人師薄伽梵。彼佛世尊憐憫我之故,授予我此陀羅尼密言一切法門。其佛世界名為勝觀察惠。世尊,我從那時以來,常受持此陀羅尼真言一切法教,導化無量百千眾生,包括凈居天王、伊首羅天王、魔醯首羅天王、大梵天王、帝釋天王一切天王,各自連同眷屬,恭敬供養,尊重讚歎,皆令安住于阿耨多羅三藐三菩提(無上正等正覺),並以離疑網之智慧而莊嚴之。』

『世尊,我初次得到此陀羅尼法時,證得百千不空無惑之智慧,莊嚴首三摩地門而皆現前。世尊,由於此真言之力,現見十方無量無數種……』

【English Translation】 English version

The Sutra of the Unfailing Net (Amoghapāśa) Dhāraṇī Ritual Spoken by the Buddha, Volume 1 (also known as The Secret Words of the Unfailing Net Teaching)

Thus have I heard. At one time, the Buddha was in the Pure Abode Heaven, with various heavenly beings, including the King of the Pure Abode Heaven, Īśvara (自在天王, the Lord of Freedom), Maheśvara (大自在天王, the Great Lord), Brahmā (大梵天王), Indra (帝釋天王), and all the heavenly hosts, expounding the wonderful Dharma on a jeweled lotus lion throne, its light illuminating everything like the sun.

At that time, Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva Mahāsattva, filled with joy and elation, arose from his seat, bared his right shoulder, joined his palms in reverence, paid homage to the Buddha's feet, arranged his robes, knelt with hands clasped, and addressed the Buddha, saying: 'World-Honored One, I have a dhāraṇī, called the Unfailing Net Heart King Dhāraṇī Mantra Samādhi Dharma. In the past ninety-one kalpas, in that last kalpa, a Buddha appeared in the world, named World Sovereign King Tathāgata Arhat Samyaksaṃbuddha, perfect in knowledge and conduct, Well-Gone, Knower of the World, Unsurpassed One, Tamer of Men, Teacher of Gods and Humans, Bhagavan. That Buddha, the World-Honored One, out of compassion for me, bestowed upon me this dhāraṇī secret word, the gateway to all Dharmas. His Buddha-field is called Superior Observation Wisdom. World-Honored One, since then, I have constantly upheld this dhāraṇī mantra, all the teachings, guiding and transforming countless hundreds of thousands of beings, including the King of the Pure Abode Heaven, Īśvara, Maheśvara, Brahmā, Indra, all the heavenly kings, each with their retinues, reverently making offerings, respecting and praising, causing them all to abide in Anuttarā-samyak-saṃbodhi (無上正等正覺, unsurpassed perfect enlightenment), and adorning them with wisdom free from the net of doubt.'

'World-Honored One, when I first obtained this dhāraṇī Dharma, I attained hundreds of thousands of unfailing and undoubting wisdoms, adorning the foremost three samādhi gates, and all manifested before me. World-Honored One, by the power of this mantra, I now see countless and immeasurable kinds in the ten directions...'


種剎土諸佛如來所有會眾。而皆供養聽聞深法。展轉教化無量有情。皆得發趣無上菩提。是故智者應當受持。世尊若此經典所作方處。當知其地即有無量百千凈居天王伊首羅天王。大梵天王帝釋天王。及諸一十二萬百千天王並其眷屬。常共擁護恭敬圍繞。世尊若斯經典所在方處。有能依法清凈書寫。讀誦受持讚歎之者。當知其地即是一切諸佛全身制底。世尊若諸有情。暫能讀誦聽聞。流行此不空罥索心王陀羅尼真言三昧耶者。當知是人則當親近恭敬供養無量俱胝那庾多百千諸佛。于諸佛所種諸善根。所以者何。此法乃是一切諸佛菩提寶聚。

世尊若有有情造極惡業。謗讟一切諸佛菩薩獨覺聲聞。及謗正法言無有善。或復破滅諸佛菩薩獨覺聲聞。及謗形像塔廟經論教法。是應墮阿毗地獄。經無數劫受無間苦。諸佛菩薩獨覺聲聞。雖具神通亦不能救。世尊如斯有情。能生悔心清潔澡浴。以香涂身著鮮潔衣。如法佛前至誠懺悔過去今生所造重罪終更不犯。受持齋戒清凈其心。七日七夜誡斷諸論。于不空罥索觀世音菩薩前。每日誦此陀羅尼真言一百八遍者。當知其人先世所造十惡五逆四重諸罪。悉滅無餘。不墮地獄。惟除五逆現世輕受。云何證知。所謂一日二日三日四日乃至七日。瘧病熱病或患眼耳鼻舌龂牙齒。頭背兩

世尊,如果有眾生造作極惡之業,誹謗一切諸佛、菩薩、獨覺、聲聞,並且誹謗正法,說沒有善報,或者破滅諸佛、菩薩、獨覺、聲聞的形像、塔廟、經論教法,這樣的人應當墮入阿鼻地獄,經歷無數劫遭受無間斷的痛苦,即使諸佛、菩薩、獨覺、聲聞具有神通也無法救度。世尊,如果這樣的眾生,能夠生起悔改之心,清潔沐浴,用香涂身,穿上乾淨的衣服,如法在佛前至誠懺悔過去今生所造的嚴重罪業,併發誓終身不再犯,受持齋戒,清凈自己的心,七日七夜戒除各種雜論,在不空罥索觀世音菩薩前,每日誦此陀羅尼真言一百零八遍,應當知道此人前世所造的十惡、五逆、四重等各種罪業,全部消滅乾淨,不會墮入地獄,只有五逆罪在現世會稍微受到一些輕微的果報。如何證明呢?比如在第一天、第二天、第三天、第四天乃至第七天,可能會得瘧疾、熱病,或者患上眼、耳、鼻、舌、牙齒、頭、背等疾病

【English Translation】 English version: To offer to all the assemblies of all the Buddhas and Tathagatas in all Buddha-lands, to listen to the profound Dharma, and to teach and transform immeasurable sentient beings, so that they may all develop the aspiration for unsurpassed Bodhi. Therefore, the wise should uphold this scripture. World-Honored One, if this scripture is practiced in a certain place, know that this place will have immeasurable hundreds of thousands of Pure Abode Heaven Kings, Ishvara Heaven Kings (King of Freedom), Great Brahma Heaven Kings, Shakra Heaven Kings, and all one hundred and twenty thousand hundred thousand Heaven Kings and their retinues, who will always protect, respect, and surround it together. World-Honored One, if in a place where this scripture is located, there are those who can write, recite, uphold, and praise it purely according to the Dharma, know that this place is the complete body stupa of all the Buddhas.

World-Honored One, if there are sentient beings who can even temporarily recite, listen to, and propagate this 'Amoghapasha Heart King Dharani' mantra samaya, know that these people will be able to approach, respect, and make offerings to immeasurable kotis of nayutas of hundreds of thousands of Buddhas, and plant various good roots in the presence of the Buddhas. Why? Because this Dharma is the treasure store of Bodhi of all the Buddhas.

World-Honored One, if there are sentient beings who commit extremely evil deeds, slander all the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Shravakas, and slander the True Dharma, saying that there is no good, or destroy the images, stupas, scriptures, and teachings of the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Shravakas, such people should fall into Avici Hell and endure uninterrupted suffering for countless kalpas, and even the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Shravakas, though possessing supernatural powers, cannot save them. World-Honored One, if such sentient beings can generate remorse, cleanse themselves with bathing, apply fragrant ointment to their bodies, wear clean clothes, sincerely repent before the Buddha according to the Dharma for the serious sins committed in the past and present lives, and vow never to commit them again, observe precepts and fasts, purify their minds, abstain from various discussions for seven days and seven nights, and recite this Dharani mantra one hundred and eight times daily before the Amoghapasha Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, know that all the various sins of the ten evils, five heinous crimes, and four grave offenses committed by these people in their previous lives will be completely eradicated, and they will not fall into hell, except for the five heinous crimes, which will be slightly suffered in this life. How can this be proven? For example, on the first day, second day, third day, fourth day, and even the seventh day, they may suffer from malaria, fever, or diseases of the eyes, ears, nose, tongue, teeth, head, and back.


肩心肚脅肋。腰髀兩膝痔痢霍亂。手腳煩疼白癩風疽。疥癬癰腫游腫。癤腫毒腫癀病㿃門。瘡皰癢瘨厭蠱等病。或為鬼神之所嬈亂。或為人民種種譏謗橫加罵辱。鞭撻楚楚閉受諸苦惱。遭余惡事或夢不祥。世尊此人以是輕受。能攘地獄一切劇苦重報之罪。何況凈信輕罪有情。受持此陀羅尼真言不成就耶。若有情身心不安。為于種種災厄怖畏惡夢不祥。日日清潔讀誦受持燒香供養者。則得消滅。

世尊若有善男子善女人。如法書寫受持讀誦聽聞是法。為人如法宣說讚歎。教他書寫受持讀誦。廣令一切胎卵濕化有情。得聞此陀羅尼真言三昧耶者。皆得解脫一切罪障。是善男子善女人等。當凈其心如理思惟。以無所得智。無方處智。無我無人無受者智。無分別智。無生無滅智。不遲行智。無作無染智。平等性智。離五蘊色聲香味觸法。無取無舍精進智。以是種種真如巧智。制御於心而為方便。觀念諸佛常見目前。不久當得十方百千一切諸佛一時現前。摩頂讚歎為作證明。或復夢覺得見好相。或得諸佛變作沙門。與授菩薩增上戒品。令滅無量百千微塵數劫一切重罪。乃至如法書寫是經安置宅中。以諸香華隨心供養尊重禮拜。所得功德亦復如是。世尊是今且略說少分之耳。若有情為勝他心嫉妒諂誑。或為恐怖財利輕戲依他

【English Translation】 English version: Shoulders, heart, belly, sides, ribs. Waist, thighs (bì, thighs), both knees, hemorrhoids, dysentery, cholera. Hands and feet with vexing pain, vitiligo, leprosy, malignant sores. Scabies, ringworm, carbuncles, swellings, migrating swellings. Boils, poisonous sores, jaundice, anal diseases (㿃門, diseases around the anus). Sores, blisters, itching, epilepsy, bewitchment by poison, and other diseases. Or being disturbed by ghosts and spirits. Or being subjected to various ridicule, unwarranted slander, and insults by people. Whipped until pitiful, confined and suffering all kinds of distress. Encountering other evil events or having inauspicious dreams. World Honored One, this person, by lightly enduring these, can eliminate all the severe suffering of hell and the heavy retribution of sins. How much more so for sentient beings with pure faith and light sins, who uphold this Dharani True Word, will they not achieve success? If sentient beings are uneasy in body and mind, due to various calamities, fears, bad dreams, and inauspicious events, by cleansing themselves daily, reciting and upholding, burning incense and making offerings, they will be able to eliminate them. World Honored One, if there are good men and good women who, according to the Dharma, write, uphold, recite, and listen to this Dharma, and for others, according to the Dharma, proclaim, praise, and teach others to write, uphold, and recite, widely causing all sentient beings born from wombs, eggs, moisture, and transformation to hear this Dharani True Word Samaya (誓約, vow), all will be liberated from all karmic obstacles. These good men and good women, etc., should purify their minds, contemplate according to reason, with the wisdom of non-attainment (無所得智, wisdom of not clinging to anything), the wisdom of no-place (無方處智, wisdom beyond spatial limitations), the wisdom of no self, no person, and no receiver (無我無人無受者智, realizing no self, no other, no receiver), the wisdom of non-discrimination (無分別智, wisdom of non-differentiation), the wisdom of no birth and no death (無生無滅智, realizing no birth and death), the wisdom of not acting slowly (不遲行智, wisdom of swift action), the wisdom of non-action and non-attachment (無作無染智, wisdom of non-fabrication and non-contamination), the wisdom of equality (平等性智, wisdom of treating everything equally), being apart from the five aggregates (五蘊, skandhas: form, feeling, perception, volition, consciousness), form, sound, smell, taste, touch, and dharma, the wisdom of non-grasping and non-abandoning diligent practice (無取無舍精進智, wisdom of not clinging, not abandoning, and diligently practicing). With these various True Suchness skillful wisdoms, controlling their minds as a means, contemplating the Buddhas, constantly seeing the Buddhas before their eyes. Before long, they will attain the simultaneous appearance of hundreds of thousands of all Buddhas in the ten directions, stroking their heads and praising them, giving them proof. Or upon waking from a dream, feeling that they have seen auspicious signs. Or obtaining the Buddhas transforming into Shramanas (沙門, renunciates), bestowing upon them the Bodhisattva's superior precepts (增上戒品, higher precepts), causing them to eliminate immeasurable hundreds of thousands of myriads of dust-mote kalpas of all heavy sins. Even to the point of writing this sutra according to the Dharma and placing it in their homes, making offerings with various incense and flowers according to their hearts, respecting and bowing, the merits obtained are also like this. World Honored One, this is just a brief explanation of a small portion. If there are sentient beings who, in order to surpass others, harbor jealousy, flattery, and deceit, or who, due to fear and profit, lightly ridicule and rely on others.


之心。讀誦聽聞此陀羅尼真言三昧耶者。皆獲勝利。或復聞以誹謗輕毀而不恭敬。亦獲勝利。世尊今此利益。唯大智者知。乃是世間自在王如來威神之力。乃是觀世音大慈悲力。令諸惡輩一切有情。一經于耳讜種殖無量善根。所以者何。世尊譬如有人以癡噁心。行詣龍腦香林或諸香林。以愚癡智種種罵香。復恚心謗言此香實無香氣。取香斫截搗碎為末。和水飲啖或涂身上。是香無心不言彼人而輕置我。以是香效能熏一切。無香之物芬馥皆香。世尊此不空罥索心王陀羅尼真言三昧耶亦復如是。若諸有情說無因果。種種誹謗求非過惡。或為嫉妒諂曲財食一切厄難。受持讀誦而作供養。由是因緣得大善根。從此身後于所生處。常得戒香定香慧香解脫香。威德無畏福智資糧香。一切菩提堅固不壞福聚蘊香。所生之處貴族種姓福聚圓滿。戒慧嚴身常能饒益。

世尊若善男子善女人。受持讀誦此陀羅尼者。應白月八日或十四日或十五日。清凈澡浴以香涂身著凈衣服。或復不食斷諸談論。于不空罥索觀世音菩薩前。如法而坐燒眾名香。瞻菩薩面誦此陀羅尼七七遍或一百八遍。世尊當知是人現世之中則得二十種功德勝利。何名二十。一者身無眾病。若有宿業病生速令除滅。二者身膚細軟姝娧妙好。三者恒為眾人觀視愛樂不相厭怠

【現代漢語翻譯】 現代漢語譯本: 之心。讀誦聽聞此《不空罥索心王陀羅尼真言三昧耶》者,皆可獲得勝利。即使有人聽到后誹謗輕毀,不恭敬,也能獲得勝利。世尊,這種利益只有大智慧者才能理解,這是世間自在王如來威神之力,也是觀世音大慈悲力,能讓所有惡輩一切有情,只要一經于耳,便能種下無量善根。為什麼這麼說呢?世尊,譬如有人以愚癡惡劣之心,前往龍腦香林或各種香林,用愚蠢的智慧種種辱罵香,又懷著憎恨之心誹謗說:『這香根本沒有香氣。』取來香料,砍伐截斷,搗碎成末,和水飲用或塗抹身上。香沒有心識,不會因為那人而輕視他,因為香的本效能夠薰染一切,使沒有香氣的東西也變得芬芳。世尊,這《不空罥索心王陀羅尼真言三昧耶》也是如此。如果眾生說沒有因果,種種誹謗,尋求過失,或者因為嫉妒、諂媚、貪求財食而遭遇一切厄難,但如果他們受持讀誦並作供養,由此因緣就能得到大善根。從此之後,在所生之處,常常得到戒香、定香、慧香、解脫香、威德無畏福智資糧香,以及一切菩提堅固不壞的福聚蘊香。所生之處都是貴族種姓,福聚圓滿,以戒律和智慧莊嚴自身,常常能夠饒益他人。

世尊,如果善男子善女人受持讀誦此陀羅尼,應該在白月(農曆初一到十五)的初八、十四或十五日,清凈沐浴,用香涂身,穿乾淨的衣服,或者不吃飯,斷絕一切談論,在不空罥索觀世音菩薩(Amoghapāśa Avalokiteśvara)像前,如法而坐,焚燒各種名香,瞻仰菩薩面容,誦此陀羅尼七七遍或一百零八遍。世尊,應當知道,這個人現世之中就能得到二十種功德勝利。哪二十種呢?一是身無眾病,如果有宿業導致的疾病,也能迅速消除。二是面板細嫩柔滑,美麗動人。三是常常被眾人觀看、喜愛,不會感到厭倦。

【English Translation】 English version: mind. Those who recite and hear this Amoghapāśa-hṛdaya-dhāraṇī-mantra-samādhi will all attain victory. Even if someone hears it and slanders, belittles, or is disrespectful, they will also attain victory. World-Honored One, only those with great wisdom understand this benefit. This is the power of the Tathāgata, the King of Sovereignty in the World (Lokēśvara-rāja-tathāgata), and the great compassion of Avalokiteśvara (Guānshìyīn). It enables all evil beings, all sentient beings, to plant immeasurable roots of goodness simply by hearing it once. Why is this so? World-Honored One, for example, if someone with a foolish and wicked mind goes to a dragon brain camphor forest or other fragrant forests, and with foolish wisdom, reviles the fragrance in various ways, and with hatred slanders, saying, 'This fragrance has no scent at all.' They take the fragrance, chop it, cut it, pound it into powder, mix it with water to drink or smear it on their body. The fragrance has no mind and does not say that the person despises it, because the nature of the fragrance can perfume everything, making things without fragrance fragrant. World-Honored One, this Amoghapāśa-hṛdaya-dhāraṇī-mantra-samādhi is also like this. If sentient beings say there is no cause and effect, slander in various ways, seek faults, or encounter all kinds of difficulties due to jealousy, flattery, or greed for wealth and food, but if they uphold, recite, and make offerings, they will obtain great roots of goodness because of this cause. From then on, in the places where they are born, they will always obtain the fragrance of precepts, the fragrance of samādhi, the fragrance of wisdom, the fragrance of liberation, the fragrance of majestic virtue, fearlessness, the resources of merit and wisdom, and the fragrance of the accumulation of indestructible merit of all Bodhi. In the places where they are born, they will be of noble lineage, with perfect accumulations of merit, adorned with precepts and wisdom, and will always be able to benefit others.

World-Honored One, if a good man or good woman upholds and recites this dhāraṇī, they should, on the eighth, fourteenth, or fifteenth day of the white month (waxing moon), purify themselves by bathing, apply fragrance to their body, wear clean clothes, or abstain from food and cut off all discussions. In front of the Amoghapāśa Avalokiteśvara (Bùkōng Juànsuǒ Guānshìyīn Púsà), they should sit properly, burn various famous incenses, gaze upon the face of the Bodhisattva, and recite this dhāraṇī seven times seven or one hundred and eight times. World-Honored One, know that this person will obtain twenty kinds of meritorious victories in this present life. What are the twenty? First, the body will be free from all diseases. If there are diseases caused by past karma, they will be quickly eliminated. Second, the skin will be fine, soft, beautiful, and lovely. Third, they will always be watched and loved by the crowd, and they will not be tired of them.

【English Translation】 English version: Fourth, the six roots (eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind) are always stable, and wealth and treasures are naturally obtained. Fifth, one will not have clothes and treasures plundered by robbers. Sixth, all treasures will not be burned or washed away by water or fire. Seventh, one will not die of starvation due to invasion, killing, or forceful seizure of treasures. Eighth, one will not die by falling from a cliff. Ninth, when blessed pure water is sprinkled on all fruits and crops, disasters such as evil winds, frost, hail, insects, and beasts will not occur, and the crops will grow luxuriantly. Tenth, one will not be killed in military battles and conflicts. Eleventh, one will not have one's essence consumed by various evil ghosts and spirits in the world, or be killed by enemies and vengeful spirits. Twelfth, one will always be praised and admired by the public, and will not die in an evil time. Thirteenth, if one sees all heretical and evil people, they will naturally become harmonious. Fourteenth, one will not be slandered or harmed by any evil people; if anyone tries to do so, they will quickly perish on their own. Fifteenth, one will always be free from fear of all humans and non-humans. Sixteenth, one will not easily die due to worldly witchcraft, curses, or Ḍākinī ghosts (a type of man-eating ghost). Seventeenth, all evil latent afflictions will naturally be extinguished. Nineteenth, all the devas (gods) will constantly protect one. World Honored One, there are also eight dharmas (teachings). What are these eight? First, at the time of death, Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva (觀世音菩薩, the Bodhisattva of compassion) will personally transform into the form of a Śrāmaṇa (沙門, a renunciate practitioner), skillfully guiding the dying person to a Buddhakṣetra (佛剎, a Buddha's pure land). Second, at the time of death, the body will not feel pain, and one can leave or stay freely, as if entering Dhyana (禪定, a meditative state). Third, at the time of death, the eyes will not wander, and one will not exhibit an evil death appearance. Fourth, at the time of death, the hands and feet will be stable, and one will die lying on the right side. Fifth, at the time of death, one will not lose control of urination or defecation, and will not die from dysentery or vomiting blood. Sixth, at the time of death, one will not lose right mindfulness, and will not lie face down, but will die sitting upright. Seventh, at the time of death, one will be able to discuss various profound and subtle dharmas, and then die peacefully of old age. Eighth, at the time of death, if one vows to be reborn in a Buddhakṣetra, one will be reborn in the pure lands of all Buddhas according to one's wish, be born from a lotus flower, and constantly see all the Bodhisattva-mahāsattvas (菩薩摩訶薩, great Bodhisattvas), never regressing.

世尊若讜許我。我當爲利益一切有情乃至邪見斷見惡慧眾生等。我今欲于如來前。說是不空罥索心王陀羅尼真言三昧耶。愿垂納受。

爾時釋迦牟尼如來。告觀世音菩薩摩訶薩言。善男子汝當說之。今正是時。如來亦喜我加被汝。今為利益惡世一切垢重鮮福有情。及為新學菩薩住大乘者。廣作利樂施為佛事。

【English Translation】 English version: If there are sentient beings who deeply delight in this Dharma, then it should be explained to them. Or if someone aspires to seek this Dharma wholeheartedly, embracing, upholding, reciting it without any stinginess, and widely explaining it according to the Dharma, why is that? Because Bodhisattvas always generate compassion and wisdom towards all sentient beings, without any miserliness or jealousy, thereby cultivating and achieving the unsurpassed Dharma. Furthermore, Bodhisattvas constantly cultivate virtuous Dharmas diligently for the sake of sentient beings, hence they are named true Bodhisattvas. What is meant by Bodhisattva (Bodhi: wisdom, Sattva: sentient being)? Bodhi means wisdom, and Sattva means compassion. It universally demonstrates the various meanings of expedient means. These two Dharmas can help and save sentient beings, and thus are named Bodhisattva.

World Honored One, if you permit me, I shall, for the benefit of all sentient beings, even those with wrong views, nihilistic views, and evil wisdom, now wish to proclaim before the Tathagata (Tathagata: Thus Come One) this 'Amoghapasa-hrdaya-raja-dharani-mantra-samaya'. May you accept it.

At that time, Shakyamuni Tathagata said to Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva-Mahasattva (Mahasattva: Great Being): 'Good man, you should speak it. Now is the right time. The Tathagata is also pleased, and I will empower you. Now, for the benefit of all sentient beings in the evil world who are burdened with heavy karma and have little merit, and for the newly learning Bodhisattvas who abide in the Mahayana (Mahayana: Great Vehicle), extensively create benefit and joy for them, and perform the deeds of the Buddha.'

At that time, Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, having received the Buddha's permission, smiled joyfully, folded his palms respectfully, and gazed upon the Tathagata without taking his eyes off him for a moment. He said: 'World Honored One, the Tathagata now permits me to speak this 'Amoghapasa-hrdaya-raja-matrka-dharani-mantra-samaya'. This samaya is what all Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas cultivate together to reach the place of liberation. I now have compassion for the world, and for the benefit and happiness of countless sentient beings, I proclaim this divine mantra. If one upholds this mantra, one should first respectfully salute the truly practicing Maitreya Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas, respectfully salute the Golden Light Roaring Voice Sovereign King Tathagata Arhat Samyak-sambuddha, respectfully salute the Lion Play King Tathagata, respectfully salute Amitabha (Amitabha: Immeasurable Light) Tathagata. At that time, Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva Mahāsattva (Great Being) , while reciting this dhāraṇī (mantra), emitted light that universally illuminated Mount Potalaka (Avalokiteśvara's abode). The palaces within the mountain shook six times. In the empty sky, various celestial flowers rained down, including 𤘽物頭 flowers, Padma (lotus) flowers, Pundarika flowers, and Mandarava flowers, along with various precious flowers and fragrances, precious celestial garments, necklaces, bracelets, and ornaments, like clouds of jewels, offered to the Tathāgata (Buddha). Furthermore, offerings were made to the assembly, with flowers reaching up to their knees. In the empty sky, countless celestial musical instruments played without being struck. All the devas (gods), nāgas (dragons), yakshas (demons), rakshasas (ogres), asuras (demigods), gandharvas (celestial musicians), garudas (mythical birds), kinnaras (celestial musicians), mahoragas (serpent deities), humans, and non-humans in the assembly rejoiced, joined their palms, and gazed upwards, praising in unison, 'Excellent! Excellent! The Great Compassionate One is able to skillfully expound this Amoghapasha Heart King Mother Dhāraṇī mantra samaya (vow), like a mani jewel, capable of showering great treasures upon sentient beings, universally bestowing blessings and liberation.'

At that time, Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva Mahāsattva further said to the Buddha, 'World Honored One, if good men and good women, at specific times each day, burn aloeswood incense and recite this Mother Dhāraṇī mantra three times seven times, they will quickly eradicate all sins, including the ten evil deeds, the five rebellious acts, and the four grave offenses. If they recite this mantra while traveling on roads, or in places where they rest, or in cities, villages, mountains, or marshes where they reside, they can consecrate white mustard seeds with the mantra, or sprinkle consecrated pure water or ashes to create a boundary. They can use Khadira wood vajra (diamond) pegs consecrated with the mantra, and tie five-colored threads consecrated with the mantra onto the pegs, and nail them around the perimeter to form a boundary. They can dwell securely without any fear, as this is a great protective mantra. The bright deities will all rejoice. Those who uphold the mantra can tie white threads to cure malaria.


者佩則得除差。

若一切人民臂上腕上頂上腰上。令所佩人病者得差怖者得安。加持牛蘇或烏麻油。與患熱病者。空腹服之即令除差。若他咒詛厭蠱者。真言鑌鐵刀附體肢分。以刀隱捺又溲麵捏彼人形。一真言刀一截一百八段。至於七日每日如是。則便除愈。

若患腹痛真言紅鹽湯。與令飲服則便除愈。若一切毒蟲螫者。真言黃土泥數涂毒處或數加持牛乳空腹飲服。或加持煮豆汁。溫蘸蟲所毒處便得除愈。

若患眼疼真言白線索用系耳珰。又真言竹瀝甘草白檀香水每日晨朝午時暮間洗眼。或真言波羅奢水。日日洗之即得除差。

若患耳鳴熱風。真言生烏麻油或醍醐。數滴耳中不久除差。

若真言者加持緋線索二十一結。用繫腰上二手腕上則護其身。若患齒疼真言迦啰弭啰木持嚼揩齒。若患鬼病加持五色線索。當使佩之即便除差。

若為毒藥刀杖破瘡咽喉腫病疔病惡瘡。真言畢撥末牛乳石蜜。而令服涂即得除愈。

若口舌欲起已起者。每晨朝時向日真言凈水。洗面漱口即令除散。

若國土荒亂大臣謀叛。他兵侵毀災疫起時。先凈洗浴著新凈衣食三白食。於三七日嚴持道場。四角中央置香水甕。于所畿日內外清凈如法供養。壇西壇北燒香散華。依法坐誦此陀羅尼真言聲

If someone is cursed by other mantras or harmed by Gu poison, use a mantra-blessed high-quality iron knife (high-quality iron knife) to press against the body, or knead dough into the shape of that person, and cut it into one hundred and eight pieces with the mantra-blessed knife, doing this every day for seven days, then they will be healed. If suffering from abdominal pain, consecrate red salt water with a mantra and give it to the patient to drink, and they will be healed. If stung by any poisonous insect, consecrate yellow clay with a mantra and apply it repeatedly to the stung area, or repeatedly consecrate milk and drink it on an empty stomach, or consecrate boiled bean juice and apply it warm to the stung area, and they will be healed. If suffering from eye pain, consecrate a white thread with a mantra and use it to tie an earring (earring). Also, consecrate bamboo sap (bamboo sap), licorice, and white sandalwood water with a mantra, and wash the eyes every morning, noon, and evening. Or consecrate water from Butea monosperma (water from Butea monosperma) with a mantra and wash the eyes daily, and they will be healed. 聲莫絕。作除災法滿三七日。即令國土一切人民得大安穩。每日加持壇中甕水。散一切上重成持護。災厄罪障自然殄滅。

若為鬼神卒殃失音者。加持白旃檀香泥遍涂心上即還如故。若無財寶飲食香華常供養者。但誦持之常不間廢。亦得除滅一切罪障。

若令家宅善神護持無災疾者。每日當取蓮華一百八莖遍涂蘇蜜。散白旃檀香末加持護摩。每日三時時別一百八枚。滿七日已。即成擁護除諸災厄。

若欲眾人而歡喜者。加持蘇蜜白旃檀香護摩一百八遍。則如所愿。而說頌曰。

Practice the method of eliminating disasters for a full twenty-one days (three seven days), and it will enable all the people of the country to obtain great peace and stability. Every day, bless the water in the urn in the altar, and sprinkle it everywhere, which will form protection, and disasters and sins will naturally be eliminated.

If one loses their voice due to a sudden disturbance by ghosts and spirits, apply blessed white sandalwood paste all over the heart, and it will be restored to its original state. If one does not have the wealth, food, incense, and flowers to make offerings regularly, but recites and upholds this Dharma door constantly without interruption, one can also eliminate all sins and obstacles.

If you want the good deities to protect your home and prevent diseases, you should take one hundred and eight lotus stems every day, spread them with ghee and honey (Su-mi), scatter white sandalwood powder, and bless the homa (a sacrificial ritual). Do this three times a day, each time with one hundred and eight pieces, and after seven days, it will form protection and eliminate all kinds of disasters.

If you want everyone to be happy, bless ghee and honey (Su-mi) and white sandalwood, and perform the homa one hundred and eight times, and your wish will be fulfilled. And say the following verse:

'Mudharani Gatha medicine, can eliminate all kinds of disasters and sufferings, the same number should be Mi-re-ye, Na-ju-li-yao-zhe-li-ni, Gan-tuo-na-ju-li-yi-luo, A-po-bo-ni-gong-ju-mo, Indra Bo-bi-[kou*li]-jia, Gan-tuo-bi-li-rang-yu-yao, Duo-e-luo-yao-zhuo-jia-luo, Mo-he-zhuo-jie-wu-shi-luo, Vishnu Jie-luo-duo-yao, Su-mo-luo-er-su-nan-na, Refined and clean mixture with heavenly rain, make pills the size of jujubes, mark the beginning and end for protection, bless the beginning and end with true words, dry in the shade after one thousand and eight times, bless it seventeen times when wearing it, wear it according to upper, middle, and lower, the upper one is worn on the head, the middle one is worn around the neck, the lower one is always worn on the arm, all can eliminate all disasters, disasters of water, fire, and poison, all kinds of curses and spells, none can harm, all evil ghosts and spirits cannot harm, bathing in fragrant soup eliminates all obstacles.'

【English Translation】 English version: Looking towards the place where it (the disease) originates, recite the mantra and snap your fingers one hundred and eight times, and it will be eliminated. Alternatively, one can bless a pomegranate branch and point it towards the place where the disease originates, reciting the mantra and waving it, which will also eliminate it. World Honored One, this Mother Dhāraṇī mantra is the most supreme Dharma. Simply by reciting and upholding it regularly, even without forming mudrās (hand seals), one can attain accomplishment by making offerings according to the Dharma. If one wishes to accomplish the samaya (Samaya, vow) of this Dhāraṇī mantra, one should draw a picture of Amoghapāśa Avalokiteśvara according to the Dharma. (The image of the Bodhisattva) is like Maheśvara, wearing a jeweled crown on the head, with a manifested Amitābha Buddha on the crown. Use clean yellow earth and cow dung mixed with fragrant mud to smear the mandala according to the Dharma. Clean and paint it, placing the image of the Bodhisattva in the center, decorated with banners and flowers. Place bottles filled with fragrant water, as well as three white foods (milk, yogurt, rice), and various fruits and foods, as offerings in the four corners and the center of the mandala. However, all leftovers, unclean food, food from those who violate precepts, strongly flavored foods (the five pungent roots: onions, garlic, leeks, chives, asafoetida), and wine and meat should not be offered. 【English Translation】 English version: Then, a Deva (celestial being) stepped forward and said to the Buddha: 'World Honored One, in the future, during the Dharma-ending age, in any country, whether in mountains, forests, cities, towns, or villages, if there are sentient beings who can lawfully write, recite, receive, and uphold this Amoghapāśa-hṛdaya-rāja-mātṛ-dhāraṇī-mantra-samaya (the Samaya of the Amoghapāśa Heart King Mother Dharani Mantra), we, the Deva Kings and our retinues, will constantly protect them day and night.' At that time, the Tathagata (Buddha) said to the Deva Kings: 'Excellent, excellent. Those who recite, receive, and uphold this dhāraṇī-mantra-samaya (Samaya of the Dharani Mantra) should be guarded and not abandoned. Īśvara (the god Īśvara), Maheśvara (the great god Maheśvara), Mahābrahmā (the great Brahmā), Indra (the lord of gods). Yama (the lord of death), Varuṇa (the god of water), Vāyu (the god of wind), Agni (the god of fire). Vipula (the god Vipula), Mahātapodhana (great ascetic). 爾時釋迦牟尼如來。告觀世音菩薩摩訶薩言。善男子當爲大眾。說此真實廣大成就秘密心真言三昧耶功德之門。爾時觀世音菩薩白佛言。世尊此秘密心真言三昧耶。若有善男子善女人。一心觀念十方一切諸佛菩薩。說誠實言懺悔無始已來一切重罪。唯愿一切諸佛菩薩摩訶薩加祐護念。我從今日乃至菩提。供給承事一切諸佛菩薩摩訶薩。攝澄心想。觀于地下金剛輪際上。置一嚩字文畫分明。變為金剛出大光明。其光熾盛焚燒自身燼為白灰。諦想此灰變成金色。持此金灰涂曼拏羅。其曼拏羅光明皎徹。當壇心中觀置八葉開敷蓮華。于華臺上觀一娑字放金色光。于其光中聖者觀世音菩薩摩訶薩從此而出。現金色身顏貌熙怡。左手當胸執金蓮華。右手掐珠結跏趺坐。一切妙寶莊嚴其身放奇特光。作是觀已起大悲心。讀誦受持此秘密心真言一百八遍。是人則

If one merely recites it, one will attain the highest Bodhi (Anuttarā-samyak-saṃbodhi, unsurpassed perfect enlightenment).' At that time, Śākyamuni Tathāgata (the Buddha Śākyamuni) said to Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva-mahāsattva (the Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara): 'Good man, you should explain to the assembly the door of merit of this true, vast, accomplishing secret heart mantra Samaya.' At that time, Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva (the Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara) said to the Buddha: 'World-Honored One, if there is a good man or good woman who single-mindedly contemplates all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the ten directions, speaks truthfully, and repents of all the heavy sins committed since beginningless time, and sincerely wishes that all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas-mahāsattvas will bless and protect them, and from this day until Bodhi, will provide for and serve all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas-mahāsattvas, they should gather and purify their thoughts, contemplate a 'Va' (seed syllable) placed clearly drawn on the edge of the Vajra-maṇḍala (diamond circle) beneath the ground, transforming into a Vajra (diamond scepter) emitting great light. 【English Translation】 English version: For all the Tathagatas, Arhats, Samyak-sambuddhas (titles of the Buddha) in the countless worlds of the ten directions, as many as the sands of the Ganges, multiplied by kotis, nayutas, hundreds of thousands, and infinitesimal dust particles, they praise in unison and accept this person. This person, for hundreds of thousands of kalpas (eons), has accumulated evil karma and all heavy sins. All grudges, evil diseases, and afflictions will be scattered and extinguished without any remainder. Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva will then appear in a dream and quickly fulfill all his wishes. If one practices this Samaya (vow), one should always be clean, bathe, wear fresh and clean clothes, and eat three white foods. On the eighth or fifteenth day of the white month (first half of the lunar month), one should abstain from all food and generate great compassion for all sentient beings. At this time, all the Tathagatas (Buddhas) in the countless worlds of the ten directions, as many as the sands of the Ganges, multiplied by kotis, nayutas, hundreds of thousands, and infinitesimal dust particles, will appear simultaneously, extend their hands to touch the head of the practitioner, and praise and bless him. Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva will also appear in a true and wonderful form, showing compassion and love like a parent to a child, teaching all the secret Samayas of the Amoghapasha Heart King Mother Dharani, and will not abandon him until he attains supreme Bodhi (enlightenment). One who practices this Dharma should to all Buddhas.

【English Translation】 English version Practice of Supernatural Power in Months: So-called first month, fifth month, and ninth month, from the first to the fifteenth day of the white month (Śukla Paksha), if one recites and upholds this practice with purity and according to the Dharma, one will attain accomplishment. To realize this Dharma, one must first purify and subdue body and mind according to the Dharma for one month, two months, three months, four months, or five months, reciting internally, serving, and making offerings to purify the mind. Then, one should cultivate the maṇḍala mudra samaya, and then one will attain accomplishment. A verse says:

'World Honored One, now know this, the secret heart true words, the supernatural power incense king, aloeswood black fried incense, each in the amount of sixteen parts, storax and turmeric, white sandalwood and others eight parts, frankincense and borneol, benzoin and others three parts, in a clean and pure room, with the summoning true words, bless the incense mixture, this incense is named the Three Realms, the most victorious and not empty, the supernatural power of the incense king, if burning this incense, kneel and sit properly, holding the incense burner in hand, recite the summoning true words, bless this incense king, universally offering to all Buddhas of the ten directions, bodhisattva-mahāsattvas, the power of the true words, transforms into wonderful fragrant clouds, palaces and pavilions, fragrant seats and fragrant platforms, trees, fragrant flowers and garlands, fragrant cloud garments, fragrant banners and wonderful canopies, fragrant cloud all Buddha deeds, this is the wonderful incense king incense, reaching all kṣetras of the ten directions, all tathāgatas, bodhisattva-mahāsattvas, the assembly of devas, nāgas, and yakṣas, rākṣasas, gandharvas, the assembly of asuras, garuḍas, kiṃnaras, mahoragas, and others, making great offerings before, these holy assemblies and others, those who smell this fragrance, rejoice and praise, even to the three evil paths, the realms of hell and animals, those who smell this fragrance, will extinguish all hells, the sins and obstacles of animals, after abandoning this body, after changing this body, will not suffer again.'

One who constantly burns this incense and makes offerings should know that this person obtains great victory and is not disturbed by any disputes, soldiers, thieves, bad dreams, slander, curses, witchcraft, or other such things.

There, the ground is made of lapis lazuli, with seven-jeweled palaces, pavilions, railings, jeweled banners, canopies, jeweled ponds, jeweled shores, waters with eight qualities of merit, various jeweled rows of trees, all treasures, and jeweled lion thrones. Amitābha (Amitābha, the Buddha of Infinite Light) and all the Tathagatas appear, with unspeakable Ganges sands of kotis of nayutas and other immeasurable and boundless supernatural powers, light, and all auspicious marks. Avalokiteśvara, Mahāsthāmaprāpta (Mahāsthāmaprāpta, the Bodhisattva of Great Strength), and other great Bodhisattvas surround and make offerings. The Amogharaja-hrdaya-matr-dharani you have cultivated, the miraculous mantra, allows you to attain vast liberation in both the transcendent and mundane realms. The secret mandala, mudras, and Samaya (Samaya, vows) have all been accomplished. After this life, you will no longer suffer the pain of being born from the womb, egg, moisture, or transformation, but will be born from a lotus, going from one Buddha-land to another, and will not fall back until you attain Bodhi. Those who obtain this auspicious sign will have all the ten evils, five rebellious acts, four major offenses, and all other sins committed in the past and present lives eliminated and extinguished, and their actions of body, speech, and mind will be purified. The image of Avalokitesvara (Avalokitesvara) will emit great light, or Avalokitesvara will transform into a pure-conduct great Brahmin and come before the practitioner, and all the wishes in their heart will be fulfilled, and they will obtain a body filled with immeasurable hundreds of thousands of millions of inconceivable merits. It can prevent all misfortunes from celestial dragons(deva-naga)(celestial dragons), yakshas(yaksa)(yakshas, a type of spirit), rakshasas(raksasa)(rakshasas, evil spirits), vinayakas(vinayaka)(obstructing deities), enemies, etc., from intruding and causing obstacles and afflictions.

Next, recite the True Words for Purifying the Five Products of the Cow:

Om(seed syllable, representing refuge) Alauka(immaculate) Bharisuddhe(completely pure) Sodhaya(purify) Samantena(universally) Dhiri dhiri(firm, firm) Suddhasattva(pure being) Mahapadme(great lotus) Hum(seed syllable, representing destruction)

The five pure products of the cow, blessed with this mantra, are used to decorate the inside of the altar. If going to all mountains, forests, under trees, aranyas(aranya)(quiet places, suitable for practice), gardens, monasteries, villages, houses, palaces, pavilions, beds, drawing water, preparing food, etc., wherever one walks, stands, sits, or lies down to perform rituals, all places should be smeared and sprinkled with this for purification. It can prevent all yakshas(yaksa)(yakshas, a type of spirit), rakshasas(raksasa)(rakshasas, evil spirits), vinayakas(vinayaka)(obstructing deities), evil spirits, etc., from taking advantage during meals, offerings, recitations, boundary establishments, meditation, walking, lying down, or undressing. All the gods will protect, ensuring no illness or affliction. All defilements, famine, disputes, evil star calamities, and inauspicious signs will be quickly eliminated. Those who uphold the True Words, if they can bless the five pure products of the cow according to the Dharma, and regularly use the three purifications for smearing and cleansing, should always consume them themselves and offer them to others. They will quickly attain the Amoghapasa-hrdaya-dharani(the heart mantra of Amoghapasa Bodhisattva) True Words, the secret mandala(mandala)(mandala), the mudra, and the samaya(samaya)(vow) will manifest and be accomplished. Wherever one goes, there will be no obstacles, and one will always be praised and respected by kshatriyas(ksatriya)(royalty), shramanas(sramana)(renunciates), brahmins(brahmana)(priests), householders, and common people. Moreover, one will often dream of seeing seven-jeweled palaces, pavilions, flower gardens, and fruit trees, and all good friends will rejoice in seeing each other, attaining a pure body, Avalokiteshvara Bodhi

此咒加持罐索(pitcher rope)。取水時使用。再次加持之,便可任意使用。

【English Translation】 English version Sādang and all wishes. Amitābha (Amitābha - Infinite Light Buddha) appears in a dream. If one's life ends, they will be directly reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.

Next, the Mantra for Requesting the Dharma is spoken, saying:

Oṃ (1) Patme (2) Sarasara (3) Tiṣṭha Tiṣṭha (4) Mahā Amogha (5) Samaya (6) Svāhā (7)

Recite this mantra within the Dharma altar one to seven times, entreating the sages. May the recipient of the Dharma attain Samaya (Samaya - sacred vow or commitment).

Next, the Mantra for Entering the Mandala is spoken, saying:

Oṃ (1) Vipula Patmagha (2) Amogha (3) Prasara (4) Pramiśatu (5) Kuru Kuru (6) Svāhā (7)

Each time when entering the mandala, recite this mantra twenty-one times. Enter the mandala, perform rituals, and make various offerings.

Next, the Mantra for Scattering Flowers is spoken, saying:

Oṃ (1) Amogha (2) Anuśāsaya (3) Patmagha (4) Vajra Mandali

Use this mantra to bless fragrant flowers and give them to the Dharma recipient to scatter within the altar.

Next, the Mantra for Combing Hair is spoken, saying:

Oṃ (1) Amogha Patmagha (2) Śikhe (3) Turu Turu (4) Tiṣṭha (5) Vajra Mante (6) Svāhā

This Dharma is used to bless the combing and tying of hair. Also, bless the hand and place it on the crown of the Dharma recipient's head.

Next, the Mantra for the Pitcher Rope is spoken, saying:

Oṃ (1) Amogha Padma (2) Yagyakṣi (3) Pa (4) Bhiri Bhiri (5) Veng

This mantra blesses the pitcher rope. It is used to draw water. Bless it again, and it can be used for any purpose.


次復說水器真言曰。

是咒加持甕瓶等諸器。中盛香水以用之也。

是法如持七寶瓶。置香水于中。復加持置於壇內。而用灌頂。

次復說吉祥真言曰。

唵(一)婀姥伽(引)缽[口特]迷(二合二)素缽[口特]迷(二合三)布唎拏迦隸(四)弭唎弭唎(五)迦摩㘑(六)莎嚩(二合)訶

是咒若結印界。燒香散華懸幡釘橛燒火設食。若執數珠著脫衣服。緣壇修治一切事法。及讀誦經時皆加持手乃當執之。則為十方諸佛菩薩一切天神。而讚歎故。

次復說凈口真言曰。

唵(一)婀姥佉(二)弭么隸爾嚩迦啰(二合三)思孕(二合)輸馱弭(四)缽[口*特]么(二合)俱么攞(五)爾嚩僧輸陀耶(六)馱啰馱啰(七)素弭摩唎(八)莎嚩(二合)訶

是咒若欲讀誦懺悔禮拜讚歎諸佛菩薩之時。先加持水揩洗口齒。則得凈潔。當得舌根清凈柔軟色如蓮形。

次復說含香真言曰。

如是真言三昧耶,當以上好白檀香、那羅那香、赤蓮華、畢里迦香、鬱金香、躬矩么香、蓮華鬢,七物數量各十二分,又加龍腦香、附子,二者數量相等,各四分,搗治石蜜而和合,每次唸誦時加持含在口中,便當口氣香潔,如郁缽啰華(青蓮花)之香。常得諸佛、觀世音歡喜祐護而讚歎,胸藏痰飲、吐逆病,便得消鑠而除差。三十三天聞讚誦,陀羅尼聲喜敬護,有情得聞此人聲,皆得除惱而相愛。恒常如法含香者,大辨才天(辯才天女)密神通,隱入舌端,辯才無礙,先前所忘失的都能憶起。發聲大稱𤙖(ōng)字者,聲聲而滿於七聲,諸真言神、天仙眾,立即來到壇中擁護。又重怒聲稱怖(bù)字,聲聲而滿於七聲,眾惡毗那夜迦(障礙神)等,鬼神魅精怖畏馳散。長久含此香讀誦者,一切善相自然顯現,垢重罪業皆消滅,恒常沒有非人(指天龍八部等)橫加干擾。

如是真言三昧耶,當以龍華、丁香皮、烏施羅香

【English Translation】 English version Oṃ (one), ā-lǎo-qié (two), jiàn-tuó-pó-dǐ (three), su-lū-su-lū (four), bō-là (pra) (conjunction) sāi-pū-lū (five), níng-[yě]-jiàn-dì (six), bō-[tè]-mó-bō-là (seven), suō-pó (svāhā) (conjunction) hē.

Thus is the samaya of this mantra. One should use the finest white sandalwood, nala-nardus, red lotus, priyangu, turmeric, saffron, and lotus stamen. Each of these seven ingredients should be twelve parts. Additionally, add borneol camphor and aconite, each in equal amounts of four parts. Grind and mix with rock sugar. Each time when reciting, hold it in the mouth, so that the breath becomes fragrant, like the fragrance of utpala (blue lotus). One will always be blessed and protected by all Buddhas and Avalokiteśvara, who will rejoice and praise. Chest congestion with phlegm and vomiting will be eliminated and cured. The Trayastrimsa Heavens (Thirty-three Heavens) will hear the recitation and rejoice, respectfully protecting the sound of the dharani. Sentient beings who hear this person's voice will have their afflictions removed and will love each other. Those who constantly and ritually hold this fragrance in their mouth will have the secret spiritual powers of Mahapratisara (Goddess of Eloquence), hidden at the tip of their tongue, with unobstructed eloquence, and will remember what was previously forgotten. Those who utter the syllable Oṃ (aum) loudly, filling the seven notes with each utterance, all the mantra deities, celestial beings, and immortals will immediately come to the altar and protect them. Again, with an angry voice, utter the syllable Bhū (bhooh), filling the seven notes with each utterance, all evil Vinayakas (obstructing spirits) and demonic entities will be terrified and scattered. Those who constantly hold this fragrance while reciting will naturally manifest all auspicious signs, and heavy defilements and sins will be extinguished. They will constantly be free from non-human (such as nagas and other beings) harassment.

Next, the mantra for bathing medicine is spoken:

Oṃ (one), mǐ-mó-là-mǐ-yé-dì (two), bō-[tè]-mó-mǐ-pó-lì (three), sān-pó-là-zhě-lì (four), shī-pó-lī-oṃ (five), ā-lǎo-qié-xī-dì (six), shū-tuó-yě-oṃ.

Thus is the samaya of this mantra. One should use dragon flower, clove bark, and ushira fragrance.

Use this mantra to bless fragrant mud and fragrant water, then smear the mandala as an offering.

Chapter Down of the Sutra of the Teaching and Ritual of the Amoghapasha Spoken by the Buddha

Zong Rui recorded: 'The Ritual of the Amoghapasha Dharani, one set of two volumes, translated by Tripitaka Master Amogha. Its functions are as described in the sutra, which cannot be fully recorded here. Thirty-five sheets. The Profound Commentary of Repeated Praise, the Ten-Volume Copy of the Equality Chamber, etc., all cite this ritual. This ritual is the same as the first two volumes of the thirty-volume Amoghapasha Sutra translated by Bodhiruci of the Tang Dynasty. The wording is also largely the same. However, it differs in that it provides a detailed translation of each line of the mother dharani as footnotes. Although the meaning is roughly understood, its benefit is not insignificant. It is likely that the Sanskrit text was incomplete. In the chapter on accomplishing mantras in the thirty-volume sutra, there are thirty more mantras for powdered incense, smearing incense, etc. It is a pity that they are now missing.'

In August of the third year of the Enpo era, it was collated at Hannya-ji Temple in Rakusai using the copy held by High Priest Myoe of Umeo. The monk Jogyo, residing at Hannya-ji Temple, was thirty-seven years old.

On the ninth day of the sixth month, summer of the first year of the Tenmei era (Year of the Ox), it was copied from the copy of Archbishop Kakue. The heat and humidity were as if destroying everything. I wiped away sweat and put down my brush at Nansugi Dormitory. On the twentieth of the same month, it was re-collated using the copy from Uji Eshin-in Temple. The monk Jininn, studying at the Chishaku-in Temple in Rakuto.

In June of the first year of the Kyouwa era (Year of the Rooster), I requested that copy to collate it with the thirty-volume sutra and added Japanese characters. I entrusted it to the craftsmen for woodblock printing and distributed it among fellow practitioners. Under the direction of Myoonrin of Toyama, Shimousa.
