大唐總持寺沙門釋智通奉 制譯
如是我聞。一時佛在王舍大城耆阇崛山中。與無量大比丘俱。復有無量天龍夜叉揵闥婆阿素羅伽嚕茶緊那羅。各並眷屬。復有無量無數比丘比丘尼優婆塞優婆夷恭敬圍繞。爾時會中有一菩薩。名曰觀世音自在。即從座起頂禮佛足。偏袒右肩右膝著地。合掌恭敬而白佛言。世尊我今欲說阿唎多唎心咒根本及印壇法。是咒威力不可思議。安樂世間多所饒益。若有天人受持之者。所有怨對惡障怖畏。皆悉止息。一切外學禁咒。碎散不能為害。隨心所愿一切善業皆得成辦。四足二足諸眾生等。無不恭敬悉皆歸伏。惟愿世尊哀垂聽許。我以大悲憐愍一切諸眾生故。說此根本印咒之法即說慕陀羅尼法。
隨心印咒第一(亦名身印咒亦名都印咒)
二手中指無名指小指三指。向外相叉。合掌右押左。指頭總摶掌背。並豎二食指相著。大指亦然。各摶食指。大指來去。即說咒曰。

隨心印咒第一(也叫身印咒,也叫都印咒)
兩手的中指、無名指、小指三指,向外相叉,合掌右押左。指頭總共握在掌背,並豎起二食指相靠。大指也是這樣,各自握住食指。大指來回移動。即說咒語:

【English Translation】 English version The Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva隨心咒經 (also known as the Tārā Heart Sutra)
Translated by Śramaṇa Shizhitong of the Zongchi Temple of the Great Tang Dynasty under imperial decree
Thus have I heard: At one time, the Buddha was in the city of Rājagṛha (王舍大城), on Mount Gṛdhrakūṭa (耆阇崛山), together with immeasurable great Bhikṣus (比丘). Moreover, there were immeasurable Devas (天), Nāgas (龍), Yakṣas (夜叉), Gandharvas (揵闥婆), Asuras (阿修羅), Garudas (伽樓茶), and Kiṃnaras (緊那羅), each with their retinues. Furthermore, there were immeasurable Bhikṣus (比丘), Bhikṣuṇīs (比丘尼), Upāsakas (優婆塞), and Upāsikās (優婆夷) reverently surrounding him. At that time, in the assembly, there was a Bodhisattva named Avalokiteśvara (觀世音自在). He immediately rose from his seat, prostrated himself at the Buddha's feet, bared his right shoulder, knelt on his right knee, and, with palms joined in reverence, said to the Buddha: 'World-Honored One, I now wish to speak of the root of the Ārya Tārā hṛdaya mantra (阿唎多唎心咒) and the method of the maṇḍala (壇). The power of this mantra is inconceivable, bringing peace and benefiting the world greatly. If any Deva or human upholds it, all enmity, evil obstacles, and fears will cease. All external teachings and incantations will be shattered and unable to cause harm. Whatever good deeds are desired will be accomplished. All beings, whether four-footed or two-footed, will reverently submit. May the World-Honored One compassionately grant permission, for out of great compassion and pity for all beings, I will speak of this root mudrā (印) and mantra method.' Then he spoke the Mudrā-dhāraṇī (慕陀羅尼) method.
The First隨心 Mudrā and Mantra (also called the Body Mudrā and the General Mudrā)
The middle finger, ring finger, and little finger of both hands are crossed outwards, palms joined, right over left. The tips of the fingers are held together at the back of the palms, and the two index fingers are erected and touching each other. The thumbs are also like this, each holding the index finger. The thumbs move back and forth. Then say the mantra:

以右手向前。把左手腕。于頭上以左手四指來去。即說咒曰。

【English Translation】 English version (3) Mahasattvaya (To the great being), (4) Mahakarunikaya (To the greatly compassionate one), (5) Tadyatha (Thus it is), (6) Om (Seed syllable), (7) Tare Tari, (8) Tutare, (9) Tututare, (10) Ture Svaha (Hail!). Second Invocation Mantra (Recite this mantra with a body mudra) Tadyatha (Thus it is), (1) Agaccha Agaccha (Come, come), (2) Bhagavan (Blessed One), (3) Arya (Noble) (4) Avalokite (The one who sees), (5) Sarva (All) Raya Ratna Trasadina, (6) Svaha (Hail!). Use this mantra to bless benzoin incense seven times and burn it. The Bodhisattva will then come. If you wish to recite the previous Tara heart mantra, first recite this mantra seven times and then recite that one. Third Invocation Mudra and Mantra (This one mudra and mantra can invoke all Bodhisattvas) Extend the right hand forward. Hold the left wrist. Move the four fingers of the left hand back and forth above the head. Then say the mantra: Om (Seed syllable), (1) Sarva-bodhisattvanam (To all Bodhisattvas), (2) Ehyehi (Come, come), (3) Svaha (Hail!). Fourth Flower Platform Mudra and Mantra Same as the previous mudra, but change both hands to face upwards with palms up. Bend the five fingers slightly upwards. Say the mantra: Om (Seed syllable), (1) Sarva-para (All others) bishta (2) Buddhanam (To the Buddhas), (3) Svaha (Hail!). Fifth Incense and Flower Mudra and Mantra Use the right thumb to press on the nail of the ring finger. Extend the remaining three fingers straight. Then use the left palm to support the right hand from below. Say the mantra: Om (Seed syllable), (1) Sarva-pa (All) ya, (2) Puspa (Flower) ghaya, (3) Svaha (Hail!).
作此法時。感得天龍八部皆來供養。
香水印咒第六
以兩手中指無名指及少指。各把大母指如拳法。合腕以二頭指相跓。咒曰。
唵(一)薩婆烏馱(上)迦(去)耶(二)曷啰阇(三)莎(去)訶(四)此印供養恒沙一切諸佛菩薩
護身印咒第七
先合掌。屈二小指甲相背。二大母指附二食指。餘三指合頭相跓。掌中開少許。當於頂上頭指來去。咒曰。
跢侄他(一)阿𠼝(二)多𠼝(去三)都多(去)𠼝(四)都𠼝(五)醯(上)讕拏(上)夜(弋可反六)揭啰(上)鞞(七)曷啰(上)叉(楚我反)曷啰(上)叉么阇(二合白稱已名)薩婆突薩𥅗溪弊治(二合九)菩薩跛達啰(上二合)鞞弊治(二合十)莎(去)訶(十一)
作此印誦咒漏十萬遍。一切諸魔外道等輩。人非人等無敢害者。用此護身。又作此印誦前身咒。于舍利塔前。至心發露懺悔眾罪。能滅四重五逆等罪。
心印咒第八
準前護身印。唯改以二頭指捻二大指甲頭相跓。當於心上。咒曰。
唵(一)薩婆嘻𠼝(二合)陀(去)耶(二)菩陀(去)耶(三)莎(去)訶(四)
作此印已誦心咒時。悉能除滅三業眾罪。
口印咒第九
準前心印。唯改以二大指。

香水印咒第六
用兩手中指、無名指及小指,各自握住大拇指,如同握拳的姿勢。合攏手腕,用兩個食指相抵。咒語如下:
唵(ōng)(表示皈依)薩婆(sà pó)(一切)烏馱(wū tuó)(水)迦(jiā)耶(yē)(供養)曷啰阇(hé luō shé)(光輝)莎(suō)訶(hē)(成就)。此印供養恒河沙數一切諸佛菩薩。
護身印咒第七
先合掌,彎曲兩個小指,指甲背靠背。兩個大拇指靠近兩個食指。其餘三指合攏,指尖相抵。掌心稍微打開。在頭頂上方,用食指來回移動。咒語如下:
跢(duō)侄(zhí)他(tuō)(即說咒曰)阿𠼝(ā lì)(無垢)多𠼝(duō lì)(勝妙)都多(dū duō)𠼝(lì)(極勝妙)都𠼝(dū lì)(最勝妙)醯(xī)(引導)讕拏(lán ná)夜(yè)(光明)揭啰(jiē luō)鞞(pí)(執持)曷啰(hé luō)叉(chā)(守護)曷啰(hé luō)叉(chā)么阇(mó shé)(守護我)薩婆(sà pó)(一切)突薩𥅗溪弊治(dū sà zhì xī bì zhì)(惡夢)菩薩(pú sà)跛達啰(bǒ dá luō)鞞弊治(pí bì zhì)(菩提)莎(suō)訶(hē)(成就)。
修習此印,誦咒十萬遍,一切諸魔、外道等輩,人或非人等,都不敢加害。用此印護身。又修習此印,誦前身咒,在舍利塔前,至誠發露懺悔所有罪過,能滅除四重罪(殺父、殺母、殺阿羅漢、破和合僧)五逆罪(殺父、殺母、殺阿羅漢、出佛身血、破和合僧)等罪。
心印咒第八
與前面的護身印相同,只是將兩個食指捏住兩個大拇指的指甲蓋相抵。在心口處。咒語如下:
唵(ōng)(皈依)薩婆(sà pó)嘻𠼝(xī lì)(心)陀(tuó)耶(yē)(給予)菩陀(bú tuó)耶(yē)(覺悟)莎(suō)訶(hē)(成就)。
結此印誦心咒時,能完全消除身、口、意三業的各種罪過。
口印咒第九
與前面的心印相同,只是改變為用兩個大拇指。
【English Translation】 English version: When practicing this Dharma, one can attract the devas, nagas, and the eight classes of supernatural beings (the eight types of protectors in Buddhism) to make offerings.
The Sixth Incantation of the Fragrant Water Mudra
Use the middle finger, ring finger, and little finger of both hands to grasp the thumb, as if making a fist. Join the wrists together and have the two index fingers touch each other. The mantra is as follows:
Om (represents refuge) Sarva (all) Udaka (water) Ya (offering) He Rasha (splendor) Svaha (accomplishment). This mudra is offered to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas as numerous as the sands of the Ganges.
The Seventh Incantation of the Body Protection Mudra
First, bring the palms together. Bend the two little fingers so that the nails are back to back. Place the two thumbs next to the two index fingers. Bring the remaining three fingers together so that the tips touch each other. Open the palms slightly. Move the index fingers back and forth above the head. The mantra is as follows:
Tadyatha (thus it is) Ah-li (immaculate) Duli (supreme) Dudu-li (extremely supreme) Du-li (most supreme) He (guide) Lana-ya (light) Ge-la-pi (holding) He-la-cha (protect) He-la-cha Masha (protect me) Sarva (all) Dusa-zhi-xi-bi-zhi (nightmares) Bodhisattva (Bodhisattva) Boda-la-pi-bi-zhi (Bodhi) Svaha (accomplishment).
Practice this mudra and recite the mantra 100,000 times, and all demons, heretics, and other beings, whether human or non-human, will not dare to harm you. Use this mudra for body protection. Also, practice this mudra and recite the mantra of the previous life in front of a Sharira stupa (relic tower), sincerely confessing all sins, and you can eliminate the four grave offenses (killing one's father, killing one's mother, killing an Arhat, disrupting the Sangha) and the five rebellious acts (killing one's father, killing one's mother, killing an Arhat, drawing blood from a Buddha's body, disrupting the Sangha).
The Eighth Incantation of the Heart Mudra
The mudra is the same as the previous body protection mudra, except that the two index fingers pinch the fingernails of the two thumbs so that they touch each other. Place it at the heart. The mantra is as follows:
Om (refuge) Sarva (all) Hili (heart) Tuo-ye (giving) Butuo-ye (enlightenment) Svaha (accomplishment).
When forming this mudra and reciting the heart mantra, one can completely eliminate all sins of body, speech, and mind.
The Ninth Incantation of the Mouth Mudra
The mudra is the same as the previous heart mudra, except that it is changed to use the two thumbs.
屈向二掌中。並二小指節上。咒曰。
唵(一)毗婆(重呼上)施伽(去)耶(二)莎(去)訶(三)
作此印已。誦口咒時能除口業一切罪障。
大懺悔印咒第十
先以右手大母指。捻中指甲上。餘三指直舒。左手亦爾。以右手大母指。押左手大母指甲上。正當心前。咒曰。

作此印咒時。一切鬼神自然歸伏。
隨心印第十三
準前結界印。唯改以右手頭指。與左手小指相去開一寸許。此名隨心印作此印已誦隨心

【English Translation】 English version: Bend towards the two palms, joining the top joints of the two little fingers. The mantra is: Oṃ (seed syllable) (1) Vibhā (radiance) Śikhā (peak) ye (2) Svāhā (auspicious) (3) Having made this mudra, reciting this mouth mantra can eliminate all karmic obstacles of speech. The Tenth Great Confession Mudra and Mantra First, with the right thumb, press on the nail of the middle finger, extending the other three fingers straight. Do the same with the left hand. Then, place the right thumb on top of the left thumb's nail, positioning it directly in front of the heart. The mantra is: Oṃ (seed syllable) (1) Kruddha (wrathful) (2) Sarva (all) Deva (deva, god) nā (3) Svāhā (auspicious) (4) The Twelfth Great Boundary-Establishing Mudra and Mantra for Averting Vighnanāyaka (obstacle maker) First, insert the right ring finger behind the back of the left ring finger. Use the left thumb to hook the right little finger, holding it in the right palm. Use the left index, middle, and ring fingers to hook the right middle finger, pressing down on the nail of the right ring finger. Touch the tip of the right index finger to the tip of the left little finger. Press the right thumb on the back of the left index and middle fingers, twisting the left wrist. The mantra is: Oṃ (seed syllable) (1) Sarva (all) Yakṣa (yaksha) (2) Rākṣasānāṃ (of the rakshasas) (3) Bandha bandha (bind, bind) (4) Svāhā (auspicious) (5) When making this mudra and mantra, all ghosts and spirits will naturally submit. The Thirteenth Mind-Following Mudra Follow the previous boundary-establishing mudra, but change it by separating the right index finger from the left little finger by about an inch. 降伏外道六師印第十五
準前印上。唯改各以大母指。捻無名指及中指甲上。作此印時。外道六師悉皆歸伏。誦身咒。
救見六道眾生令離苦解脫印咒第十六
以兩手大指二頭指相捻。二中指並頭相跓。二無名指各押二小指甲上。中間使開。當額上著。咒曰。
唵(一)薩婆者芻陀(去)羅(二)伽啰(去)耶(三)莎(去)訶(四)
通師本誦身咒。
施甘露印第十七
以左手頭指。與大母指相捻。餘三指直豎向外托。又以右手垂臂向下。直舒五指向下垂。作此施甘露法。六道眾生悉皆飽滿離苦解脫。誦身咒。
防難印咒第十八
以右手大母指。叉右肋指頭向後。餘四指把拳。左手亦爾。向前努臂。咒曰。
唵(一)薩婆圖瑟吒(去二合)那(二)瞋(上)馱瞋(上)馱(三)莎(去)訶(四)
作此印咒法時。為伏一切天魔難降伏者。悉皆歸伏無敢當者。

降伏外道六師印第十五
準前印上,唯改各以大母指,捻無名指及中指甲上。作此印時,外道六師悉皆歸伏。誦身咒。
救見六道眾生令離苦解脫印咒第十六
以兩手大指、二頭指相捻,二中指並頭相跓,二無名指各押二小指甲上,中間使開。當額上著。咒曰:

施甘露印第十七
以左手頭指,與大母指相捻,餘三指直豎向外托。又以右手垂臂向下,直舒五指向下垂。作此施甘露法,六道眾生悉皆飽滿離苦解脫。誦身咒。
防難印咒第十八
以右手大母指,叉右肋指頭向後,餘四指把拳。左手亦爾,向前努臂。咒曰:

The Fourteenth Mudra of Gaimu for Delivering Pāpīyas (Lord of the sixth heaven in the desire realm in Buddhism, often regarded as a demon obstructing practice) into the Path
First, bring the middle and ring fingers of the right hand together and bend them into the palm. Keep the remaining three fingers straight and spread the palm towards the chest. Do the same with the left hand, with the palm facing outwards. When this mudra is made, Pāpīyas (Lord of the sixth heaven in the desire realm in Buddhism, often regarded as a demon obstructing practice) leads his followers, admiring and entering the Buddha's path, bowing and retreating. Recite the Mantra of the Body.
The Fifteenth Mudra for Subduing the Six Non-Buddhist Teachers
Based on the previous mudra, only change it by pressing each thumb onto the nails of the ring and middle fingers. When this mudra is made, the six non-Buddhist teachers will all submit. Recite the Mantra of the Body.
The Sixteenth Mudra and Mantra for Saving Sentient Beings in the Six Realms, Enabling Them to Leave Suffering and Attain Liberation
Bring the thumbs and index fingers of both hands together, touching their tips. Bring the tips of the two middle fingers together, and press the two ring fingers onto the nails of the two little fingers, leaving a space in the middle. Place it on the forehead. The mantra says:
Oṃ (one) Sarva-chakṣu-dara (two) ghra-ya (three) Svāhā (four)
The teacher generally recites the Mantra of the Body.
The Seventeenth Mudra of Giving Amrita (nectar)
With the left hand, bring the index finger and thumb together, touching their tips. Keep the remaining three fingers straight and pointing outwards. Also, with the right hand, let the arm hang down, keeping the five fingers straight and pointing downwards. By performing this practice of giving amrita, all sentient beings in the six realms will be full, leave suffering, and attain liberation. Recite the Mantra of the Body.
The Eighteenth Mudra and Mantra for Preventing Difficulties
With the right hand, place the thumb on the right rib, pointing the fingertip backwards, and make a fist with the remaining four fingers. Do the same with the left hand, pushing the arm forward. The mantra says:
Oṃ (one) Sarva-dustha-na (two) Chinda Chinda (three) Svāhā (four)
When performing this mudra and mantra practice, for subduing all heavenly demons and those difficult to subdue, they will all submit and dare not oppose.
The Nineteenth Mudra and Mantra of Freedom

胡跪右膝著地。舉頭向上。合掌當心。又以二頭指。押中指背上第一節上。二大指各附二頭指側。咒曰。

作此印誦此咒時。無量諸類眾生得清凈戒。
隱身隨形入六道印咒第二十四

Place the left palm facing up, supporting the back of the right hand. Recite the body mantra in front of the heart. Then enter the Samadhi of Extinction. Summoning Yama Raja (King Yama) Mudra (Seal) and Mantra Twenty-first Interlock the two little fingers in reverse, with the right pressing on the left. Recite the mantra: 'Om(represents refuge) Sarva-devaya(to all devas) Grahana(seizing, here referring to the Heavenly Kings) Svaha(accomplishment)' When this mudra is formed and this mantra is recited, the Four Great Heavenly Kings will come together at once. 作此印法時。一切仙人呼喚並至。問其仙法一一具陳。
灌頂清凈印咒第二十六
準前五通印。上唯改以頭指。各押大指頭指頭相跓。又以二中指直豎頭相跓。向頂上著。咒曰。

行者若作三曼茶羅大道場已。用此法印誦咒灌頂。無邊眾生皆得清凈。
水難印咒第二十七
先以兩手中指無名指。相叉右押左。二頭指及二小指直豎頭相跓。二大母指屈入掌中。咒曰。
唵(一)烏馱(上)伽(二)薩婆弟婆(三)烏馱伽(四上)莎(去)訶(五)
作此印法水不能漂。一切水天悉皆歸

先用兩手中指、無名指,交叉,右手壓在左手上。兩個食指和兩個小指直立,指頭互相抵住。兩個大拇指彎曲放入掌中。咒語如下:
唵(om)(一) 烏馱伽(wū tuó qié)(二) 薩婆弟婆(sà pó dì pó)(三) 烏馱伽(wū tuó qié)(四) 莎訶(suō hē)(五)
做這個手印法,水不能漂走,一切水天都會歸順。

Summoning Immortals with Five Supernatural Powers Mudra and Mantra - Twenty-fifth
With both hands, make fists with the middle, ring, and little fingers, and bring the hands together. Each thumb rests against the side of the middle finger, and the index fingers move back and forth. The mantra is as follows:
'Om(one) Sarva-kri-ti-zhi-ye(two) Karma-va-ra-na(three) Gu-duo-yi(four) Svaha(five)'
When performing this mudra, all immortals will be summoned and arrive. You can ask them about immortal methods, and they will explain them in detail.
Abhisheka Purification Mudra and Mantra - Twenty-sixth
Following the previous Five Supernatural Powers Mudra, only change the index fingers to press against the tips of the thumbs, with the tips of the index fingers touching each other. Also, hold the two middle fingers straight up, with their tips touching each other, and place them towards the top of the head. The mantra is as follows:
'Om(one) Ti-jian-po(two) Mu-duo-luo(three) Seng-jian(four) Svaha(five)'
If a practitioner has created a Samantabhadra Mandala (great mandala) and then uses this mudra and recites the mantra for abhiseka (灌頂, empowerment), countless beings will attain purity.
Water Disaster Mudra and Mantra - Twenty-seventh
First, cross the middle and ring fingers of both hands, with the right hand pressing on the left. Hold the two index fingers and two little fingers straight up, with their tips touching each other. Bend the two thumbs into the palms. The mantra is as follows:
'Om(one) Wu-tuo-qie(two) Sarva-di-po(three) Wu-tuo-qie(four) Svaha(five)'
When performing this mudra, water cannot carry you away, and all water deities will submit.

準前水難印。上唯改二頭指二小指。各相去一寸許。用水難咒。
作此印法者火不能燒。一切火天悉皆歸伏。
風難印第二十九
先以右手中指無名指。相叉入左手無名指背上。二頭指及二小指隨入。押左手無名指及中指心上。右手頭指及小指。押右手中指無名指背上。出二大母指相去直豎。反掌向外。用水難咒。
作此印時。一切風難不能為害。風雨神王悉皆歸伏。
天難印第三十
先以右手大母指頭指。捻左手頭指第二節。又以左手頭指大母指。捻右手大母指第一節。餘三指豎頭相跓。各相去一寸許。咒用身咒。
作此印時。得見三十三天上事。一切天神悉皆歸伏。
地難印咒第三十一
準前天難印。唯改二無名指。平屈頭相跓。咒曰。

作此印法時。一切地神悉皆歸伏。
賊難印咒第三十二

賊難印咒 第三十二

Fire Calamity Mudra Twenty-eighth
Follow the previous Water Calamity Mudra. Only change the two index fingers and two little fingers above. Keep each about an inch apart. Use the Water Calamity Mantra from before.
One who makes this mudra will not be burned by fire. All Agni Devas (fire deities) will submit.
Wind Calamity Mudra Twenty-ninth
First, cross the right middle finger and ring finger over the back of the left ring finger. The two index fingers and two little fingers also follow, pressing on the palm of the left ring finger and middle finger. The right index finger and little finger press on the back of the right middle finger and ring finger. Extend the two thumbs, standing upright and apart. Turn the palms outward. Use the Water Calamity Mantra.
When making this mudra, all wind calamities cannot cause harm. The Wind and Rain Divine Kings all submit.
Heaven Calamity Mudra Thirtieth
First, use the right thumb and index finger to pinch the second joint of the left index finger. Then, use the left index finger and thumb to pinch the first joint of the right thumb. The remaining three fingers stand upright, with their tips touching each other, each about an inch apart. Use the Body Mantra for the mantra.
When making this mudra, one can see the affairs of the Trayastrimsa Heaven (Thirty-three Heavens, a celestial realm in Buddhist cosmology). All heavenly deities submit.
Earth Calamity Mudra Mantra Thirty-first
Follow the previous Heaven Calamity Mudra. Only change the two ring fingers, bending their tips to touch each other. The mantra is:
Om (一) Ghata-bam (二合) ga (二) Hasta (二合) ye (三) Svaha (四)
When making this mudra, all earth deities submit.
Thief Calamity Mudra Mantra Thirty-second
Use the right index finger, middle finger, ring finger, and little finger to hook the four fingers of the left hand backward. The two thumbs are each spread out and stand upright. The mantra is:
Om (一) Sarva-dusta (二合二) para-dusta (二合) na (三) Chinda ye (四) Svaha (五)
When making this mudra, all thief calamities disappear.

王難印咒第三十三
準前賊難印。上唯改右手大母指。鉤取左手大母指。即說咒曰。
唵(一)薩婆曷啰阇(二)圖瑟吒(二合)那(三)莎(去)訶(四)
作此印法時。一切王難苦具刀杖等不能為害。
施無畏印咒第三十四(一名除怖畏印咒)
起立以左臂直舒向下。五指亦舒向下。掌背向后。右手亦爾。以掌向前。如施甘露右手印法。咒曰。
跢侄他(一)阿(上)𠼝(二)跢𠼝(三)都跢𠼝(四)都𠼝(五)醯蘭拏夜伽啰(上)鞞(二合六)啰(上)叉啰(上)叉么阇(二合七自稱名)薩婆突契比冶(二合八)薩婆跢達羅(上二合)鞞比冶(二合九)莎(去)訶(十)
誦咒滿十萬遍。作此印時一切眾生有恐怖者皆得無畏(古本闕咒今本中有咒)。
防毒難印咒第三十五
以兩手四指反相叉。二大母指頭相跓。反掌向外。咒曰。
唵(一)跛啰(二合)伽舍(去)夜延(二)槃陀槃陀(三)莎(去)訶(四)
若入山谷作此印咒時。一切毒蛇虎狼師子。諸毒禽獸不能傷害。一切諸毒亦不能害。
求聰明印咒第三十六
以兩手大母指。各捻二無名指甲上。二小指並直豎相搏。以二中指側頭相跓。屈二

When performing this mudra, all calamities caused by kings, including knives and staves, cannot cause harm.
『Fearlessness Granting Seal Mantra』 Thirty-fourth (also named 『Fear-Removing Seal Mantra』)
Stand up, extend the left arm straight down, with the five fingers also extended downward, the back of the palm facing backward. The right hand is the same, with the palm facing forward, like the right-hand mudra of bestowing nectar. Recite the mantra:

『Poison Calamity Prevention Seal Mantra』 Thirty-fifth
Cross the four fingers of both hands in reverse, with the tips of the two thumbs touching each other, turn the palms outward. Recite the mantra:
『Om(obeisance) Para(transcendent) Gaccha Yati(go) Bandha Bandha(bind bind) Svaha(accomplishment)』
If entering a mountain valley, when performing this mudra and reciting the mantra, all poisonous snakes, tigers, wolves, lions, and other poisonous birds and beasts cannot harm you, and all poisons cannot harm you.
『Intelligence Seeking Seal Mantra』 Thirty-sixth

If there are those of dull faculties, perform this mudra for them as an offering and to seek wishes, and they will be fulfilled. For those of dull faculties, perform it for seven days. In the past, there was an elder in Kapala (Kapala, an ancient country in India) who, although wealthy, was naturally dull. His teacher performed this mudra for him according to the Dharma for seven days to seek wishes, and he became intelligent and could recite a thousand verses a day. Mudra for Breaking Open the Hells, Thirty-seventh

When forming this mudra, the gates of hell will open, and suffering beings will be liberated at once. Yamaraja (Yamaraja, the King of Hell) will rejoice. Avalokitesvara (Avalokitesvara) speaks this Dharma out of great compassion and pity for sentient beings.
Mudra for Seeking Rebirth in the Pure Land, Thirty-eighth
Join the palms together at the heart. Place the two thumbs together and press them against the heart. Recite the body mantra. When forming this mudra, recite the mantra with one-pointedness. You may be reborn at will in whichever Buddha land you desire.
Mudra for Saving All Sentient Beings from the Suffering of Illness, Thirty-ninth
Hook the two index fingers with the two middle fingers, with the right hand pressing on the left. Bend the two thumbs into the palms. Press the two ring fingers and two little fingers against the tips of the two thumbs. Face the palms inward. Recite the body mantra. Wherever there is suffering from illness, form this mudra for the sick person. All the suffering from illness of countless sentient beings will be eliminated and healed.
Mudra for Retrieving Hidden Treasures from the Earth, Fortieth
Cross the four fingers of both hands in opposite directions within the palms, and press the two thumbs together downwards. If you know there are treasures in a certain place, after forming this mudra, recite the body mantra one hundred and eight times. The Seven Treasure Gods (gods who protect the seven treasures) will all come at once and answer whatever you ask.

Mudra and Mantra for Seeking to See the Buddha - Forty-second
Same as the previous mudra, but change it by using the left middle finger, bending it into the space between the right ring finger and index finger. The right middle finger presses on the back of the left middle finger. The mantra is:
Tadyatha (1) I (rising tone) 𠼝 (2) Dota𠼝 (3) Svaha (departing tone) (4)
According to the Tong Shi version, if you form this mudra and recite this mantra, when you have completed it one hundred thousand times, all the Buddhas of the ten directions will come to rub the crown of the practitioner's head and bestow predictions. Tong Shi says that even if someone is ill for three to seven days, as long as they aspire to practice this mudra and receive the crown-rubbing prediction, all dharmas will be accomplished thereafter. When forming this mudra, there is often a strange fragrance and smoke that arrives.
Mudra and Mantra for Accomplishing and Fulfilling the Six Perfections According to One's Wishes - Forty-third
With both hands reversed, join the palms back to back, with the wrists facing outward. Place the two thumbs directly against the eyebrows, pointing downwards. Then say the mantra:
Tadyatha (1) Sarva Buddhaya (2) Sarva Para(conjunct)jna (reversed ya) Paramitaye (3) Om (4) Hahava Hahava (5) Svaha (6) Tadyatha (7) Miri Miri Tari (8) Svaha (9)
When forming this mudra, generate the Bodhisattva mind, universally regarding all sentient beings as if they were your own children. After making this thought, sincerely recite the mantra one hundred thousand times. Due to the power of this dharma, all sentient beings will be endowed with the Six Perfections (Six Pāramitās), and their wishes will be fulfilled. All the Buddhas and World Honored Ones in all the worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River will rejoice.
Mudra for Fulfilling All Merits According to One's Wishes - Forty-fourth
Bend the thumb of the left hand into the palm, and make a fist with the remaining four fingers, placing it under the right armpit. Do the same with the right hand.
。又向左腋下著。右押左誦身咒。作此印已誦身咒時。一切無量無邊眾生。皆悉具足一切功德。
隨心神足印第四十五
先以左手中指無名指屈在掌中。又以大母指。押無名指中指甲上。頭指小指直申展之。即誦身咒。作此印已。用摩兩足日馳千里。作此印時地神每將七寶華臺承行者足。凡夫肉眼不見。但生大慈悲救護之心。莫為自求名聞利養。必定感得萬神扶助。
隨心祈願印第四十六(通師用印)
通法師用。並二手掌側相搏。以二小指直豎向上。頭指中指無名指並展相搏。二無名指側相著。展二大母指來去。誦身咒。作此印時。當起四肘水壇。求一切愿悉皆滿足。
祈一切愿印第四十七(共前印同)
左手大指屈而向掌。又屈頭指須離大指頭四五分許。中指已下三指總申相搏。以印橫側著於心上。指頭向右。誦身咒。

祈一切愿印第四十七(與前印相同)
左手大拇指彎曲向掌心,再彎曲食指,須與大拇指頭相離四五分。中指以下三指併攏伸直。將印橫向貼在心上,指頭向右。誦持身咒。
此一法印,想要祈求願望時,先設立縱橫四肘的水壇,懸掛幡蓋,種種莊嚴。在壇中安置隨心像。在像前排列四個碗,每個碗中各盛一種食物,如石蜜(一種蜂蜜),沙糖,乳蜜(牛奶和蜂蜜),等等,須各自盛放供養。散種種花,燒沉香供養佛像后,對著佛像至誠發露懺悔。隨著所愿,仰求祈請完畢。在佛像前結印。用袈裟覆蓋,再用乾淨的布覆蓋印。做法完畢后,至誠誦咒滿八百遍,不要再想其他事情。誦此咒完畢,隨心所愿都能如意,根據事情的大小。
【English Translation】 English version: Then place it under the left armpit. Press the left hand with the right hand and recite the body mantra. After forming this mudra, all immeasurable and boundless sentient beings will be endowed with all merits.
The Forty-fifth Mudra of Following the Heart's Wish and Supernatural Power (Suixin Shenzu Yin)
First, bend the left hand's middle finger and ring finger into the palm. Then, use the thumb to press on the fingernails of the ring finger and middle finger. Extend the index finger and little finger straight. Then recite the body mantra. After forming this mudra, use it to rub both feet, and you can travel a thousand miles a day. When forming this mudra, the earth deity will use a seven-jeweled lotus platform to support the practitioner's feet. Ordinary people cannot see it with their physical eyes, but they will generate great compassion and a heart to protect sentient beings. Do not seek fame and profit for yourself, and you will surely be assisted by ten thousand deities.
The Forty-sixth Mudra of Praying for Wishes at Will (Suixin Qiyuan Yin) (Mudra Used by a Master)
Used by a Dharma master. Join the sides of both palms together, with the two little fingers pointing straight up. Extend and join the index fingers, middle fingers, and ring fingers together, with the sides of the two ring fingers touching. Extend the two thumbs back and forth. Recite the body mantra. When forming this mudra, you should set up a four-cubit water altar, and all wishes will be fulfilled.
The Forty-seventh Mudra of Praying for All Wishes (Qi Yiqie Yuan Yin) (Same as the Previous Mudra)
Bend the left thumb towards the palm, and then bend the index finger, keeping it about four or five fen (a unit of measurement) away from the thumb's tip. Extend the three fingers from the middle finger downwards and join them together. Place the mudra horizontally on the heart, with the fingertips pointing to the right. Recite the body mantra.
When you want to pray for wishes with this one mudra, first set up a water altar four cubits in length and width, hang banners and canopies, and decorate it in various ways. Place a Suixin (following the heart) image in the center of the altar. Place four bowls in front of the image, each containing a different flavor, such as rock honey (Shimmi) (a type of honey), granulated sugar, milk honey (Rumi) (milk and honey), and so on, each to be offered separately. Scatter various flowers and burn agarwood incense to make offerings to the image, and then sincerely confess and repent before the image. After praying for your wishes, form the mudra in front of the image. Cover it with a kasaya (Jiasha) (monk's robe), and then cover the mudra with a clean cloth. After completing the ritual, sincerely recite the mantra eight hundred times, without thinking of anything else. After reciting this mantra, all your wishes will be fulfilled as desired, according to the size of the matter.
一日乃至七日。日三時晨朝日中黃昏。依前法作印。必果所愿除不至心。

The Forty-eighth: Mudra for Freely Dissolving All Gods, Ghosts, Vajras, and Other Dharmas
Join both hands in prayer, with the backs of the palms touching. Hold them at the heart with an attitude of anger. Sincerely recite the previous mantra twenty-one times. Then, quickly turn both hands and join them properly in prayer, reciting it again seven times. After reciting it seven times, immediately open both hands quickly. When forming this mudra, it can break all the spells and practices performed by those who practice magic, rendering them all ineffective. This mudra is the Avalokiteśvara's (觀世音菩薩) enlightenment and demon-subduing mudra. Please do not transmit it lightly to those who are not of the same mind and good knowledge. If it is recklessly transmitted to the wrong person, calamity will befall them. Furthermore, it is said that those who have not entered the Samantabhadra (三曼茶羅) Great Dharma Mandala should not be allowed to see it.
The Forty-ninth: Avalokiteśvara's (觀世音菩薩) Wish-Fulfilling Mother Mudra
Join both hands in prayer, with all ten fingers upright. Keep the palms slightly hollow inside, and the two wrists touching, directly in front of the heart. With this mudra, hollow the mind and join the palms, using the mind to dedicate all the incense, flowers, and offerings in the ten directions to Avalokiteśvara (觀世音菩薩) and others. Avalokiteśvara's (觀世音菩薩) mind is without differentiation, naturally pervading and widely offering.
The Fiftieth: General Gathering Mudra and Mantra
Cross both wrists with the palms facing upwards. Press the right thumb on the left thumb. Clench the remaining eight fingers of both hands into fists with a fierce and angry grip. The mantra is:
Om (唵) (seed syllable) (1), Sarva-nayuta (薩婆那庾多) (2), Mudra (慕陀啰) (2 combined) Ya (耶) (3), Bandha Bandha (盤陀盤陀) (4), Svaha (莎訶) (accomplishment) (5).
This general gathering mudra and mantra can gather all mudras and mantras. If one upholds this mantra, one must not consume the five pungent roots (garlic, onions, leeks, scallions, asafoetida), wine, meat, coriander (cilantro), or rapeseed for the rest of one's life. Do not engage in sexual misconduct, maintain pure conduct, constantly recite the name of Avalokiteśvara (觀世音菩薩), and those who fast and maintain a focused mind, after reciting this mantra one hundred thousand times, can eradicate the heavy sins of eighty billion kalpas of birth and death. If one completes two hundred thousand recitations, upon death, one will be reborn in the Land of Immeasurable Life (Sukhavati), meet Avalokiteśvara (觀世音菩薩), and attain the four stages of Arhatship. 若欲食時。咒一切食食者。四百四病並得除差。力生十倍亦辟鬼神。若先被九十五種魔並鬼神等入身內者。或攝人心神不令唸佛誦經。令人樂說空。令人貢高自大自讚毀他。論義覓勝欲得利養。欲得作人師法主。輕慢經像。貪瞋愚癡多睡多眠或喜或瞋。咒食咒水飲水。入其腹內。諸魔鬼神等並皆走出。心還清凈除差。

【English Translation】 English version: Cast (the item) into the fire and burn it. Recite the mantra one thousand and eight times. Do this for three consecutive days. Then Vinayaka (the elephant-headed god, the remover of obstacles) and the obstacle-making ghosts will all scatter far away. Another method is to burn the sloughed skin of a snake into ashes. This can also make enemies stay away. Another method is to curse someone's hair and burn it in the fire. Then it can make the enemy man impotent, and also make the woman infertile. It will also cause everyone to look at him/her with malicious eyes. Another method is, if a woman has a difficult childbirth, take pure oil and recite the mantra three times. Apply it to the birth passage, and the baby will be born easily. Another method is, if you want to obtain the obedience of Mahadeva (the Great God, Shiva) and his attendants, take a piece of white frankincense. Recite the mantra once and throw it into the fire to burn. When you reach one thousand and eight times, whatever you ask for will be granted. Another method is to observe the eight precepts. For one day and one night, wear clean clothes. Prepare the altar by smearing the ground, and measure it with arrows to make it square. Set up food as before. Take young barley seedlings. Take a full one thousand and eight stalks, and recite the mantra one thousand and eight times. Choose seedlings that have just sprouted two or three leaves. Take newly sprouted thin willow branches. Make a human figure, and cut it off from the head. All the way to the feet, cut it into one hundred and eight sections, reciting as you cut, without interrupting any part. Then recite the mantra seven more times. Then throw it into the fire. Even all one hundred and eight sections are thrown into the fire. Then use your left hand to spread it out and fumigate it over the smoke. Throw it into the fire until it is completely burned. Clench the fumigated hand into a fist. Choose at will. If you want a good family to obey you, choose the person you like. Then look at that person's face with your own eyes. Once you have made up your mind, release the clenched fist. That person will then obey, and whatever you ask for will be granted. Another method is, the ritual space is purified and cleansed as before. Also, take branches that exude white sap as firewood. Recite the mantra and then light the fire. Three times a day. Throw frankincense into the fire. When you reach one thousand and eight times, you will receive one gold coin. Make pure incense and flowers. Recite the mantra once and throw it into the water. When you reach one thousand and eight times. After doing this, you will get as many or as few clothes as you wish. 誦亦三七遍。凡欲誦咒作法者。當用白月八日十四日十五日作之。一切皆悉成就。行此咒法。食大麥乳糜。或以水和大麥麨。或純果或單乞食或不食。如是七種。唯得食一種不得雜食。一日三時洗浴著白凈衣不淫咒法。如是咒一遍護己身。二遍護他身。三遍作界場。四遍隨自自想為界場怨惡不入。五遍二足四足悉被咒撲。六遍得入尸陀林。七遍眾生愛已不起惡念。
又法取青綖。咒一遍一結如是七結。系臍下繞腰[打-丁+親]身。除痔病下痢病。系項除一切病。人得毒藥咒之亦差。
若死咒水散灑之即起。若被他擔。取水一抄咒七遍自服。咒被所擔死人即起。若不起者咒十四遍即起。乃至德叉迦龍王毒所害者立差。又取昌蒲咒七遍。繫著臂肘。在處即得勝。
若婦人乳堅腫者。咒泥七遍涂之即差。咒綖七遍繫著臂上。他合毒藥與已不能為害。一切見不打。若他被毒亦能去。此多羅咒

Another method: If you want to obtain inexhaustible grains of rice, take a handful of rice and burn it in the fire of white sap wood. Recite the mantra one thousand and eight times to achieve it. Another method: If you are performing meritorious deeds for others, you must invite all Buddhas to protect you in everything you do. You must purify your mouth and recite this mantra: Namo Bhatija (Homage to Bhatija), Naridija (Homage to Naridija), Svaha (Completion). Recite it three times seven, twenty-one times. Whenever you want to recite mantras and perform rituals, you should do it on the eighth, fourteenth, and fifteenth days of the white month (the first half of the lunar month). Everything will be accomplished. Practice this mantra, eat barley gruel, or mix water with barley flour, or eat only fruit, or beg for food alone, or do not eat. In this way, reciting the mantra once protects oneself, twice protects others, three times sets up a boundary, four times sets up a boundary according to one's own thoughts, and hatred and evil cannot enter. Five times, all two-legged and four-legged creatures are subdued by the mantra. Six times, one can enter Sitavana (cremation ground). Seven times, all beings love oneself and do not have evil thoughts. Another method: Take a green silk thread, recite the mantra once and tie a knot, and tie seven knots in this way. Tie it below the navel, around the waist, to remove hemorrhoids and diarrhea. Tie it around the neck to remove all diseases. If a person is poisoned, reciting the mantra can also cure it. If someone dies, recite the mantra and sprinkle water on him, and he will be resurrected. If someone is being carried, take a handful of water, recite the mantra seven times and drink it yourself. The dead person being carried will get up. If he does not get up, recite it fourteen times and he will get up. Even if someone is harmed by the poison of Takshaka (name of a Naga king), he will be cured immediately. Also, take sweet flag and recite the mantra seven times, tie it on the arm, and you will be victorious wherever you are. If a woman's breasts are hard and swollen, recite the mantra seven times and apply it, and it will be cured. Recite the mantra over a thread seven times and tie it on the arm, and the mixed poison given by others cannot harm you. Everyone who sees you will not hit you. If someone else is poisoned, you can also remove the poison. This is the Tara Mantra.

此咒隨心用攝鬼。此一印通於師三藏玄奘法師邊親受。三藏知此印闕故授與智通師中天竺國長年跋吒那羅延。與罽賓國沙門喝啰那僧伽。同三曼茶羅會受持此法。后因敕召入京。遂有大總持寺僧智通。聞解翻譯。與數十大德求及此印法。遂流傳翻譯。通依作壇經七七日。如法受持愿皆滿足。威力既異於常。亦不敢流傳於世
【現代漢語翻譯】 現代漢語譯本: 所有眾生都應恭敬觀世音菩薩。在乾淨的房間里安置觀世音菩薩的畫像或雕像,懸掛花鬘、幡蓋,焚燒沉水香。日夜不停地修行,誦唸真言七千遍,不要讓心神散亂。如果想要消除罪業,就在觀世音像前雙膝跪地,靜心念誦,用香和鮮花供養,誦唸真言一千遍,就能消除萬劫的生死重罪。誦唸真言加持一切病人,病就能痊癒。

【English Translation】 English version: All sentient beings should respectfully revere Avalokiteshvara (the Bodhisattva of Compassion). Place an image or statue of Avalokiteshvara in a clean room, hang flower garlands and banners, and burn benzoin incense. Practice diligently day and night, reciting the mantra seven thousand times, without letting the mind wander. If you wish to eradicate sins, kneel before the image of Avalokiteshvara, meditate quietly, and offer incense and flowers. Recite the mantra one thousand times, and you will eradicate the heavy sins of countless kalpas (eons) of birth and death. Recite the mantra to bless all sick people, and their illnesses will be cured.
If you wish to have perfect retention, take sweet flag (Acorus calamus), remove the skin, and mark each node. First, hold the sweet flag in your hand and recite the mantra forty times. Then, place the sweet flag at the feet of the Avalokiteshvara image. Walk around the image once, reciting the mantra thirty times for each round. Then, bite off and eat one node of the sweet flag. After that, leave the room and do not speak much. Do this once a day, following the above method for forty days, until all the nodes of the sweet flag are eaten. Then you will gain perfect retention. Be careful not to see funerals, mourning events, or crying scenes, as seeing them will cause you to lose this ability.
If you wish to see Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, in a clean room, build an altar using yellow earth. Place a lamp on the altar, using ghee (clarified butter) as the lamp oil. Also, take a silver cup and put rock candy and clean water in it, covering it with red flowers. Bathe your body, keep it clean, and strictly observe the precepts of fasting. Recite the mantra one thousand times in the room, and Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva will descend, and will surely manifest extraordinary light. Whatever your wishes are, they will all be fulfilled.
Another method is to bless a horsewhip or wooden staff, and draw three lines on the ground, and water will flow from the ground.
Jun Du Lu Xiang (薰陸香 is frankincense)
陀羅尼攝 (Dharani She) (eleven) 捉將來縛 (Zhuo Jiang Lai Fu) (five) 勒 (Le) (six) 力 (Li) (six) 莎訶 (Suo He)
This mantra can be used at will to subdue ghosts and demons. This mudra (hand seal) was personally received by the Tripitaka (Three Baskets of Wisdom) Master Xuanzang (Xuanzang) from his teacher. Master Xuanzang knew that this mudra was incomplete, so he transmitted it to Master Zhitong (Zhitong). Master Zhitong, in turn, received and practiced this dharma (teaching) together with Bhatanarayana (Bhatanarayana) of Central India, who lived to a great age, and the Shramana (monk) Haluonasengqie (Haluonasengqie) of Kashmir (Kashmir), at the Samantabhadra (Samantabhadra) assembly. Later, because of an imperial decree, he came to the capital. Thereupon, the monk Zhitong of the Da Zongchi Temple, hearing that someone understood translation, together with dozens of virtuous monks, requested to learn this mudra dharma. Thus, this dharma was spread and translated. Master Zhitong, following the scriptures, constructed an altar and practiced diligently for forty-nine days, and his wishes were all fulfilled. Because the power was so extraordinary, he did not dare to spread it casually in the world.
。亦有數百誦咒師僧。于通邊求及此法畢竟不行。縱得者印法不過三。通作此法。觀世音菩薩親自現身。自外不能具述。
謹依梵本翻出。總有四十七件。后同行者。請依法遵崇。咒文雖少功德彌多廣說窮劫不盡。

【English Translation】 English version: Furthermore, there were hundreds of mantra-reciting monks who sought this Dharma at Tongbian, but ultimately none succeeded. Even if someone obtained it, the transmitted mudras (hand gestures) would not exceed three. If Tongbian practices this Dharma, Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva (the Bodhisattva Who Observes the Sounds of the World) will personally manifest. Other circumstances cannot be fully described.
