我今說普賢菩薩身口意金剛唸誦法。由修此法等同金剛薩埵。修行者住勝解行地。曾入金剛界大曼茶羅。受菩提心戒。于諸有情。有大悲愍拔濟安樂心。不惜身命。剎那剎那常懷得普賢菩薩身。于身業勤常習。遍觀一切諸佛菩薩。如對目前。所居山間阿蘭若。或於精室或於伽藍。或於宅舍建立道場。面向東方或西隨取穩便。端身結跏趺坐或全跏或普賢跏或隨意坐。心遍緣一切有情界。令有情三業身口意凈密語曰。

次應觀如來相好圓備。運心想供養。以天妙涂香花鬘香燈燭飲食種種讚歎。則依四種禮印契密語。禮四方如來捨身供養。則成受三世無礙智律儀戒。則起右膝著地。結持金剛三么耶印。當心誦。于頂上散。由結此印誦密語。則成遍禮供養承事一切如來密語曰。

我今宣說普賢菩薩(Samantabhadra)身口意金剛唸誦法。修習此法等同於金剛薩埵(Vajrasattva)。修行者安住于勝解行地。曾經進入金剛界大曼茶羅(Vajradhātu Mahāmaṇḍala)。受持菩提心戒。對於一切有情眾生,懷有大慈悲心,救拔他們,給予安樂。不吝惜自己的身命。時時刻刻常想著獲得普賢菩薩的身。在身業上勤奮修習,普遍觀想一切諸佛菩薩,如同就在眼前。所居住的地方,可以在山間阿蘭若(araṇya,寂靜處),或者在精舍,或者在伽藍(saṃghārāma,僧院),或者在宅舍建立道場。面向東方或者西方,隨意選取穩便之處。端正身體,結跏趺坐,或者全跏,或者普賢跏,或者隨意坐。心中普遍緣念一切有情眾生界,令有情眾生的身口意三業清凈。密語曰:

唵(ōng)娑嚩(suǒ)婆嚩(ér)戍(shù,入聲)度憾(hàn)

其次應當觀想如來(Tathāgata)的相好圓滿具備。運用心意,想像供養。以天上的美妙涂香、花鬘、香、燈、燭、飲食種種讚歎。然後依照四種禮印契密語,禮拜四方如來,捨身供養。這樣就成就了領受三世無礙智律儀戒。然後起右膝著地,結持金剛三么耶印(Vajra-samaya-mudrā)。放在心前誦唸。在頂上散開。由於結此手印,誦唸密語,就成就了普遍禮敬、供養、承事一切如來。密語曰:

Abridged Yoga Recitation Ritual of Samantabhadra Vajrasattva

Translated by Śramaṇa Amoghavajra of the Great Xingshan Temple, holding the title of Grand Master of the Three Departments, Special Advanced Official of the Honglu Temple, Duke of Su of the State, with a fief of three thousand households, granted purple robes, posthumously awarded the title of Minister of Works, with the posthumous name 'Dajian' and the honorary title 'Greatly Wise,' under imperial decree.

I shall now explain the Vajra recitation method of body, speech, and mind of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva (普賢菩薩). By practicing this method, one becomes equivalent to Vajrasattva (金剛薩埵). The practitioner dwells in the stage of profound understanding and practice. Having entered the Vajradhātu Mahāmaṇḍala (金剛界大曼茶羅), and received the Bodhicitta precepts, one should have great compassion for all sentient beings, rescuing them and giving them happiness, not sparing one's own life. Moment by moment, one should constantly aspire to attain the body of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva. Diligently practice in bodily actions, universally visualizing all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas as if they are right before one's eyes. The place of residence can be in a secluded araṇya (阿蘭若, wilderness) in the mountains, or in a 精舍 (jīngshè, retreat), or in a saṃghārāma (伽藍, monastery), or establish a maṇḍala in one's dwelling. Facing east or west, choose a convenient and stable location. Sit upright in the lotus position, either full lotus, Samantabhadra lotus, or any comfortable posture. The mind should universally contemplate all realms of sentient beings, purifying the three karmas of body, speech, and mind of sentient beings. The mantra is:

Oṃ svabhāva śuddho ham (唵 娑嚩 婆嚩 戍 度憾)

Next, one should visualize the Tathāgata (如來) with complete and perfect marks and characteristics. Use the mind to imagine offerings, with heavenly exquisite scented unguents, flower garlands, incense, lamps, candles, food, and various praises. Then, according to the four types of prostration mudras and mantras, prostrate to the Tathāgatas of the four directions, offering one's body. Thus, one accomplishes receiving the unobstructed wisdom precepts of the three times. Then, raise the right knee to the ground, form and hold the Vajra-samaya-mudrā (金剛三么耶印) at the heart, and recite. Scatter it above the head. By forming this mudra and reciting the mantra, one accomplishes universally prostrating, making offerings, and serving all Tathāgatas. The mantra is:

Oṃ vajra vaṃ (唵 嚩日啰 吻)

Next, one should confess and reveal transgressions. Rejoice in merits, encourage the turning of the Dharma wheel, dedicate merits, and make vows. Then, sit in the lotus position and contemplate thus: 'May all'


切有情獲得出世無上悉地成就密語曰。

次結金剛掌印。誦密語三遍密語曰。

由結此印及誦密語。所修瑜伽相應門悉地皆成就結金剛縛印誦密語曰。

嚩日啰(二合)滿馱

由結使皆得解脫。十波羅蜜頓得圓滿。次即以縛印三掣。拍胸間誦密語曰。

唵(引)嚩日啰(二合)滿馱怛啰(二合)吒(半音)由結

此印及誦密語當入曼茶羅阿阇梨所引入。金剛薩埵三業金剛令入弟子心。自性金剛智令。得發動顯現。

次結金剛遍入印。即前金剛縛。二大指入掌安於無名指間誦密語曰。

唵(引)嚩日啰(二合)吠奢惡

由結此印。三業金剛。于身中作大阿吠奢。獲大神驗威德。

次以準前印。以二頭指各屈拄二大指背。即成金剛拳印密語曰。

由結此印令三業金剛堅住不散失。

次以前金剛縛印合豎二中指。是金剛薩埵印密語曰。

由此結印,一切束縛皆得解脫,十波羅蜜(Paramita,到彼岸)頓得圓滿。接下來以縛印三次掣動,拍打胸間,誦密語如下:

嗡(引) 嚩日啰(二合) 滿馱 怛啰(二合) 吒(半音)

通過結此印及誦密語,應當進入曼茶羅(Mandala,壇城),由阿阇梨(Acharya,導師)引入。金剛薩埵(Vajrasattva,金剛薩埵)的三業金剛令入弟子之心。自性金剛智令其發動顯現。

接下來結金剛遍入印。即前金剛縛印,二大指入掌,安於無名指間,誦密語如下:

嗡(引) 嚩日啰(二合) 吠奢 惡

通過結此印,三業金剛于身中作大阿吠奢(Avesha,進入),獲得大神驗威德。

接下來以準前印,以二頭指各屈拄二大指背,即成金剛拳印,密語如下:

嗡(引) 嚩日啰(二合) 母瑟知(二合)𤚥

通過結此印,令三業金剛堅住不散失。

接下來以前金剛縛印合豎二中指,是金剛薩埵印,密語如下:

嗡(引) 嚩日啰(二合) 三么耶

【English Translation】 English version: The secret mantra for all sentient beings to attain the supreme Siddhi (accomplishment) of transcendence is as follows:

Om Sarva Tathagata Ushnisha Sarva Satvanam Sarva Siddha Yoga Sampadyatam Tathagata Sthiti Sthitam

Next, form the Vajra Palm Mudra (hand gesture). Recite the secret mantra three times. The secret mantra is:

Om Vajra Jali

By forming this mudra and reciting the secret mantra, all Siddhis of the corresponding doors of yoga practice will be accomplished. Form the Vajra Binding Mudra and recite the secret mantra:

Vajra Bandha

By forming this mudra, all bonds will be liberated, and the Ten Paramitas (perfections) will be instantly fulfilled. Next, make three pulling motions with the binding mudra, striking the chest, and recite the secret mantra:

Om Vajra Bandha Trat

By forming this mudra and reciting this secret mantra, one should enter the Mandala (sacred circle), and be led in by the Acharya (teacher). The Vajra of body, speech, and mind of Vajrasattva (Diamond Being) will enter the disciple's heart. The wisdom of the self-nature Vajra will be activated and manifested.

Next, form the Vajra All-Pervading Mudra. That is, with the previous Vajra Binding Mudra, insert the two thumbs into the palms and place them between the ring fingers. Recite the secret mantra:

Om Vajra Vesha Ah

By forming this mudra, the Vajra of body, speech, and mind will create a great Avesha (entrance) in the body, and one will obtain great divine power and virtue.

Next, using the previous mudra as a basis, bend the two index fingers to rest against the backs of the two thumbs, thus forming the Vajra Fist Mudra. The secret mantra is:

Om Vajra Mushti Vam

By forming this mudra, the Vajra of body, speech, and mind will be firmly established and not lost.

Next, with the previous Vajra Binding Mudra, raise the two middle fingers together. This is the Vajrasattva Mudra. The secret mantra is:

Om Vajra Samaya


薩怛鑁(二合)

由結此印。修行者當住普賢菩薩三摩地。坐于月輪。令身色相光明圓備。

次結素啰多大誓真實印。以縛印二大指二小指各以指頭相拄。如獨𦙶杵。二中指入掌豎合。令拄心上即成。作是思惟。我身既成普賢菩薩。發此心時成就無邊解脫觀一切有情。自他無別。同體大悲即誦大誓真實密語曰。

唵(引)嚩日啰(二合)三么耶斛素啰多娑怛鑁(二合)

次應住勝三世忿怒金剛三摩地。立印四面八臂威德赫奕。光明熾盛如劫燒爛。左腳踏摩醯首羅。右腳踏烏摩。即以二手金剛拳。二小指反相鉤。豎二頭指。以印左旋辟除人天諸魔及作障者。右旋即成結方隅界。諸佛菩薩尚不違越。何況三界中作障者。即以印印心額喉頂四處密語曰。

唵(引一)遜婆(去一)你遜婆你吽(短二)仡哩(二合)恨拏(二合)仡哩(二合)恨拏(二合)吽(三)仡哩(二合)恨拏(二合引)波耶吽(四)阿娜耶斛(五)婆誐鑁(六)嚩日啰(二合)吽泮吒(半音)

由結此印誦密語三密相應。阿賴耶識中所有雜染種子。以此金剛智火。焚燒悉盡。一切外障不能為障難。

次結蓮華族三摩耶印。以二手金剛縛。合豎二大詣及二小指。以印安於口。想自身同金剛法菩薩密語曰。

接著結素啰多大誓真實印。用縛印,兩手大拇指和兩手小指的指頭互相抵住,形狀如獨股金剛杵(ekavajra)。兩手中指在掌中豎立合併,使其抵住心口,這樣就結成了。作這樣的觀想:我的身體已經成為普賢菩薩。發起此心時,成就無邊的解脫,觀照一切有情眾生,自他沒有分別,具有同體大悲。然後誦唸大誓真實密語,說:

接著應當安住于勝三世忿怒金剛(Trailokyavijaya)的三摩地。觀想其立印四面八臂,威德顯赫,光明熾盛如劫火燃燒。左腳踏著摩醯首羅(Maheśvara,大自在天),右腳踏著烏摩(Umā,雪山女神)。然後用兩手結金剛拳,兩手小指反向相鉤,豎立兩手食指。用此印向左旋轉,可以辟除人天諸魔以及製造障礙者;向右旋轉,即可結成方隅界限。諸佛菩薩尚且不會違越此界限,更何況三界中製造障礙者?然後用此印依次印在心、額頭、喉嚨、頭頂四個部位,誦唸密語,說:

唵(引)(Om) 遜婆(去一)你(Śumbhani,降伏) 遜婆你(Śumbhani) 吽(短二)(Hūṃ) 仡哩(二合)恨拏(二合)(Gṛhṇa,拿) 仡哩(二合)恨拏(二合)(Gṛhṇa) 吽(Hūṃ) 仡哩(二合)恨拏(二合引)(Gṛhṇā) 波耶(Pāya,飲) 吽(Hūṃ) 阿娜耶(Ānaya,帶來) 斛(Hūṃ) 婆誐鑁(Bhagavan,世尊) 嚩日啰(二合)(Vajra) 吽(Hūṃ) 泮吒(半音)(Phaṭ)

由於結此印並誦唸密語,身、語、意三密相應,阿賴耶識(Ālaya-vijñāna,藏識)中所有雜染的種子,都用這金剛智慧之火焚燒殆盡。一切外在的障礙都不能成為障礙。

接著結蓮華部三摩耶印。用兩手結金剛縛印,合併豎立兩手大拇指和兩手小指。用此印安放在口部,觀想自身等同於金剛法菩薩(Vajradharma)。誦唸密語,說:

【English Translation】 English version Sādattan (Sādattan, Seed Syllable)

By forming this mudra, the practitioner should abide in the Samādhi (meditative absorption) of Samantabhadra (Universal Worthy Bodhisattva). Sit upon a moon disc, making the appearance of the body complete with light and radiance.

Next, form the Great Vow of Truth Mudra of Surata. Using the binding mudra, the tips of both thumbs and both little fingers should touch each other, resembling a single vajra (ekavajra). The two middle fingers should be erected and joined together within the palms, touching the heart. Thus, it is formed. Contemplate thus: 'My body has already become Samantabhadra.' When this mind is generated, boundless liberation is achieved, observing all sentient beings, without distinction between self and others, with great compassion of the same essence. Then recite the secret mantra of the Great Vow of Truth, saying:

Oṃ Vajra Samaya Hūṃ Surata Sādattan

Next, one should abide in the Samādhi of Trailokyavijaya (The Conqueror of the Three Worlds), the Wrathful Vajra. Visualize him standing with four faces and eight arms, with majestic power and blazing light like the burning of a kalpa. The left foot treads on Maheśvara (Great Lord), and the right foot treads on Umā (the goddess Uma). Then, with both hands forming vajra fists, the two little fingers are hooked backwards, and the two index fingers are erected. Use this mudra to rotate to the left, warding off humans, devas, all demons, and those who create obstacles. Rotating to the right forms the boundary of the directions. Even Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will not transgress this boundary, let alone those who create obstacles in the three realms. Then, use this mudra to imprint the four places: heart, forehead, throat, and crown of the head, reciting the secret mantra, saying:

Oṃ Śumbhani Śumbhani Hūṃ Gṛhṇa Gṛhṇa Hūṃ Gṛhṇā Pāya Hūṃ Ānaya Hūṃ Bhagavan Vajra Hūṃ Phaṭ

By forming this mudra and reciting the secret mantra, the three secrets of body, speech, and mind are in accord. All the seeds of defilement in the Ālaya-vijñāna (storehouse consciousness) are burned away by the fire of this vajra wisdom. All external obstacles cannot become hindrances.

Next, form the Samaya Mudra of the Lotus Family. With both hands, form the vajra binding mudra, joining and erecting both thumbs and both little fingers. Place this mudra at the mouth, visualizing oneself as identical to Vajradharma Bodhisattva. Recite the secret mantra, saying:


唵(引一)嚩日啰(二合)三么耶薩豎鑁(二合)

由結此印。所修三摩地瑜伽悉皆現前。

次結定印。遍觀虛空諸佛猶如胡麻。即誦密語曰。

唵(引一)薩嚩瑜誐質多(二)母答波(二合)娜夜(引)彌

由結此印誦密語。滅一切障。獲得安樂悅意。超魔境。即同諸佛得一切世天供養。即誦通達心密語曰。

唵(引一)質多缽啰(二合)底吠鄧迦嚕彌(二)

次入九種緣生三摩地智。觀一切法。如幻如陽焰如夢如影像如聲響如光影如水月如變化如虛空。作是觀已。是心於染于凈。通達無礙猶若虛空。次應入菩提心觀。中誦密語菩提心密語曰。

唵(引一)冒地質多(二)母答波(二合)娜夜(引)彌

由結此印則于身中當胸臆間。觀圓滿月皎潔清涼。無限數多誦通達菩提心密語畢。得心水澄凈。菩提心月影現於中。於此滿月上。觀五鈷金剛杵。了了分明誦密語曰。

唵(引)底瑟姹(二合)嚩日啰(二合入引)

由作如是觀誦此密語。是心成如金剛。

次觀身如五鈷金剛杵誦密語曰。

嚩日啰(二合)怛么(二合)俱含

次觀遍滿虛空中佛。悉來入金剛杵中合為一體。由作如是觀智並誦密語。修行者三業成如金剛。修行者

【English Translation】 English version Om(syllable 1) Vajra(two combined) Samaya Satvam(two combined) (Om Vajra Samaya Tisttham): By forming this mudra, all the Samadhi yogas cultivated will manifest. Next, form the meditation mudra, and visualize all the Buddhas in the sky as densely packed as sesame seeds. Then recite the mantra: Om(syllable 1) Sarva Yoga Citta(2) Mudra Padayami(syllable) (Om Sarva Yoga Citta Mudra Padayami): By forming this mudra and reciting the mantra, all obstacles can be eliminated, joy and happiness can be obtained, the realm of demons can be transcended, and like the Buddhas, offerings from all the gods and humans in the world can be received. Then recite the mantra for penetrating the mind: Om(syllable 1) Citta Prativedam Karomi(2) (Om Citta Prativedam Karomi): Next, enter the wisdom of the nine kinds of conditioned arising Samadhi, and observe all dharmas as illusions, mirages, dreams, images, echoes, shadows, moon in water, transformations, and emptiness. After making this observation, the mind becomes unobstructed like the sky with regard to defilement and purity. Then one should enter the Bodhicitta contemplation and recite the Bodhicitta mantra: Om(syllable 1) Bodhi Citta(2) Mudra Padayami(syllable) (Om Bodhi Citta Mudra Padayami): By forming this mudra, visualize a full moon, bright and cool, in the chest. After reciting the mantra for penetrating the Bodhicitta an infinite number of times, the water of the mind becomes clear, and the moon shadow of the Bodhicitta appears within it. On this full moon, visualize a five-pronged vajra, clearly and distinctly, and recite the mantra: Om(syllable) Tisttha(two combined) Vajra(two combined, entering syllable) (Om Tisttha Vajra): By making this visualization and reciting this mantra, the mind becomes like a vajra. Next, visualize the body as a five-pronged vajra and recite the mantra: Vajratmaka(two combined) Hum (Vajratmaka Hum): Next, visualize all the Buddhas filling the sky entering the vajra and merging into one. By making this visualization and wisdom, and reciting the mantra, the practitioner's body, speech, and mind become like a vajra. The practitioner


當觀自身如普賢菩薩。戴其五佛冠身如水精月色。右手持五鈷金剛杵。左手持金剛鈴。身處在滿月輪。了了分明則誦密語曰。

唵嚩日啰(二合)薩怛嚩(二合)三母他(引)含

次用素啰多金剛印。結金剛縛。以右大母指入左虎口中即成。以此印加持心額喉頂密語曰。

唵素啰多裟怛鑁(三合)

次二手金剛縛。豎二中指屈上節如劍。二頭指各屈。輔二中指令相著。二大指如結跏即成。是名金剛界印。亦名五佛冠印密語曰。

唵薩嚩怛他蘗多啰怛曩(二合)毗曬迦惡(引去)

次結灌頂印置印安於頂上同前印密語曰。

唵嚩日啰(二合)么隸鼻詵(上)者𤚥鑁

次以二手作金剛拳。當額如系鬘繒。次腦後亦如前系已。從小指散下。如垂引繒帶勢。印誦密語曰。

次結被甲印二手金剛拳。展二頭指。于指端想唵砧二字。便以二指當心。相繞三遍。次背後卻至臍二膝。又至臍次腰卻至心。左右肩頸次頂后額腦後。結拳如系甲勢。密語曰。

次二手旋拳如舞勢妙拍一遍令歡喜密語曰。

【English Translation】 English version: Visualize yourself as Samantabhadra (普賢菩薩). Wearing the Five Buddha Crown, the body is like crystal, with the color of moonlight. The right hand holds a five-pronged vajra (五鈷金剛杵), and the left hand holds a vajra bell (金剛鈴). The body is situated in a full moon mandala, clear and distinct. Then recite the mantra: 'Om Vajra (二合) Sattva (二合) Samuttha (引) Ham' Next, use the Surata-vajra mudra (素啰多金剛印). Form the vajra-bandha (金剛縛) by inserting the right thumb into the left tiger's mouth. Use this mudra to bless the heart, forehead, throat, and crown of the head, reciting the mantra: 'Om Surata Satvam (三合)' Next, form the vajra-bandha with both hands, raise the two middle fingers, bending the upper joints like swords. Bend the two index fingers, supporting the two middle fingers so that they touch each other. The two thumbs are like sitting in the lotus position. By forming the mudra and reciting the mantra, one can awaken Samantabhadra (普賢菩薩) and all the holy retinue, causing them to rejoice and not violate their original vows, descending to the mandala. This mudra and mantra can summon and introduce, causing them to be delighted. When reciting to the syllable 'JAH', the two fingers in the palm move back and forth like hooks. 次結秋金剛菩薩燈印。二拳並豎二大指即想此尊居內院西北隅。形服皆赤。持燈為印。密語曰。

Next, on the right side of the Great Sage, visualize Kilikila, with a white color, making the embracing mudra with two Vajra arms.

【English Translation】 English version: The secret mantra says: Oṃ Mahā-sukha Vajra-sattva jaḥ hūṃ vaṃ hoḥ surata sattvaṃ. Abiding in the Great Mudra, one becomes equal to Samantabhadra (Universal Worthy Bodhisattva). If you wish to attain the principal deity, you should recite this mantra for one month. Recite it an infinite number of times during the four periods of each day. If you become tired, release the mudra and perform a full-body Vajra joined-palms prostration. Use this as rest, so that the mind does not become weary. On the night of the full moon, form the Great Mudra and recite throughout the night until morning. Samantabhadra will come, his body's light like a moon disc embracing the practitioner's body, entering into every part of the body. The practitioner's body becomes equal to Samantabhadra, wearing the Five Buddha Crown, adorned with celestial, wonderful necklaces and garlands. Body, speech, and mind become like Vajrasattva (Diamond Being). All relatives who see that person attain such power and virtue will be astonished and respectfully prostrate. That person constantly manifests great supernatural powers in their own home, also manifests great supernatural powers as a Buddha body, and also manifests the supreme Vajra body of the three times (past, present, and future). Those who are difficult to tame are all tamed. One can freely levitate and freely go to immeasurable worlds, make offerings to all Buddhas, and enjoy the wonderful five desires of the heavens. Life extends to the end of space, benefiting and bringing happiness to limitless sentient beings, achieving great benefit, and attaining the body of Vairocana (the Illuminator).
