如是我聞。一時佛在殑伽河側。與諸大比丘僧菩薩摩訶薩天人眾俱。爾時會中有普賢菩薩。住如來秘密三摩地。從三昧起。現大神通力。諸佛加持宣金剛壽命陀羅尼。令諸眾生增壽命故無夭橫死。亦令獲得金剛壽命堅固不壞。成就菩提到不退地。爾時世尊於心轉光明召集十方世界恒河沙諸佛。滿虛空中。各放光明如因陀羅網。以光明照觸普賢菩薩令宣說金剛壽命經。

爾時普賢菩薩得諸佛心印。即住金剛壽命三昧耶。于身毛孔中放無量微塵等數光遍十方界。以自在神通力即說。陀羅尼曰。

如是我聞。一時，佛在殑伽河（Ganges River）側，與諸大比丘僧、菩薩摩訶薩、天人眾俱。爾時，會中有普賢菩薩（Samantabhadra），住如來秘密三摩地（Samadhi）。從三昧起，現大神通力。諸佛加持宣金剛壽命陀羅尼（Vajra Longevity Dharani），令諸眾生增壽命故，無夭橫死，亦令獲得金剛壽命堅固不壞，成就菩提到不退地。爾時，世尊於心轉光明，召集十方世界恒河沙諸佛，滿虛空中，各放光明如因陀羅網（Indra's net）。以光明照觸普賢菩薩，令宣說金剛壽命經。

爾時，普賢菩薩得諸佛心印，即住金剛壽命三昧耶（Vajra Longevity Samaya）。于身毛孔中放無量微塵等數光，遍十方界。以自在神通力，即說陀羅尼曰：

【English Translation】 English version 'The Sutra of the Buddha Speaking the All Tathagata's Heart Light Empowerment Samantabhadra Bodhisattva Life-Extending Vajra Supreme Dharani'

Translated by the Tripiṭaka Śramaṇa Amoghavajra from the Lion Country, bearing the title of Grand Master of the Three Departments, Duke of the State of Su, holding the honorary title of Grand Mentor, posthumously awarded the title of Da Bian Zheng Guang Zhi, with a fief of three thousand households, from the Daxingshan Temple.

Thus have I heard. At one time, the Buddha was on the bank of the Ganges River, together with great Bhikṣu Sangha, Bodhisattva Mahasattvas, and Deva-human beings. At that time, in the assembly was Samantabhadra Bodhisattva (Universal Worthy Bodhisattva), abiding in the Tathagata's secret Samadhi (state of meditative consciousness). Arising from Samadhi, he manifested great supernatural powers. All the Buddhas empowered him to proclaim the Vajra Longevity Dharani (Diamond Longevity Dharani), so that all sentient beings might increase their lifespan, be free from untimely and accidental deaths, and also obtain the Vajra lifespan, firm and indestructible, achieving Bodhi and reaching the stage of non-retrogression. At that time, the World-Honored One emitted light from his heart, summoning Buddhas as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River from the ten directions of the world, filling the empty space, each emitting light like Indra's net (a net symbolizing interconnectedness). With this light, he illuminated and touched Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, instructing him to proclaim the Sutra of Vajra Longevity.

At that time, Samantabhadra Bodhisattva received the heart-seal of all the Buddhas and immediately entered the Vajra Longevity Samaya (Diamond Longevity Vow). From the pores of his body, he emitted light equal in number to countless fine dust particles, pervading the ten directions. With his power of unhindered supernatural abilities, he then spoke the Dharani, saying:

爾時十方塵沙諸佛心印加持。令普賢菩薩及四天王增得金剛壽命。爾時世尊彈指讚歎。汝能快善利益眾生。若有善男子善女人。怖畏夭橫非命及不祥事。即以沐浴著新凈衣燒香散花。持我延命心真言。即增壽。若有病苦眾生。求長壽故離於病苦。即建立道場。于清凈屋舍。或就伽藍。請三七比丘清凈僧。轉讀此經各四十九遍。別持是陀羅尼滿十萬遍。即獲壽命。病者即于夜夢自見殊勝境界。我此延命法先須彩書普賢菩薩。如滿月童子形。五佛頭冠。右手持金剛杵。左手持召集金剛鈴。契鬘縱緩帶坐千葉寶華。下有白象王像有三頭。鼻卷獨股杵。各具六牙。其象四足踏一大金剛輪。輪下有五千群像。各負其輪。于菩薩身放百寶光。光外盡白月輪眾彩莊嚴盡得其像

After this Dharani was spoken, the earth, mountains, and rivers all shook. The hells were destroyed, and the palaces trembled. The suffering beings were immediately revived. In the assembly, there were countless Vajra-wielding gods, who spoke in unison. All the great Bodhisattvas and Mahasattvas helped to prolong life, proclaiming the Dharani to enable beings to obtain Vajra life. At that time, the heart-seal of the Buddhas of the ten directions, as numerous as dust motes, blessed and empowered Samantabhadra Bodhisattva and the Four Heavenly Kings, increasing their Vajra life. Then, the World-Honored One snapped his fingers and praised them, saying, 'You are able to quickly benefit sentient beings, which is excellent!' If there are good men or good women who fear premature death, accidental death, unnatural death, or inauspicious events, they should bathe with fragrant water, put on new and clean clothes, burn incense, and scatter flowers. By reciting my Life-Extending Heart Mantra, they will increase their lifespan. If there are sentient beings suffering from illness who seek longevity and freedom from suffering, they should establish a mandala in a clean house or in a monastery (Galan), invite twenty-one (three times seven) pure Bhikshu monks to recite this Sutra, each reciting it forty-nine times. Additionally, they should recite this Dharani one hundred thousand times, and they will obtain longevity. The sick person will then dream of auspicious realms at night. For this Life-Extending Dharma, one must first paint Samantabhadra Bodhisattva in color, with the appearance of a full-moon-like child, wearing a Five-Buddha crown, holding a Vajra in his right hand, and holding a Vajra bell in his left hand to summon. His keśamālā (hair garland) is loose and relaxed, and he sits on a thousand-petaled lotus flower. Below is a white elephant king with three heads, each trunk coiling around a single-pronged Vajra, and each head having six tusks. The elephant's four feet step on a large Vajra wheel, and below the wheel are five thousand elephants, each carrying a wheel. From the Bodhisattva's body emanate hundreds of precious lights, and outside the light is a pure white moon disc, adorned with various colors. Be sure to obtain such an image.

敬于清凈處建立道場。令清凈僧持是真言。及轉此經乃至書寫。及持金剛壽命陀羅尼滿十萬遍。即增壽命除夭橫故。

爾時四天王等承佛加持助普賢菩薩延命各立誓言。娑婆世界南贍部洲但有此經法流行之處。我等四王即為結護令無夭橫。如有此經清凈道場如不降赴。愿我失此威光損我果報。退失菩提心不得解脫。

爾時十方如來加持一切執金剛菩薩。異口同音亦說延命陀羅尼曰。

唵嚩日羅(二合)諭勢吽吽尸棄娑嚩(二合)賀

如是說已。一切如來十方執金剛菩薩隱於虛中已不現。

爾時毗沙門天王白佛言。世尊我亦以助佛神力加持護念除非命故說陀羅尼曰。

唵嚩日啰(二合)諭勢。濕吠帝濕吠帝濕吠多隸理娑嚩(二合)賀

說是陀羅尼已。令一切眾生獲得壽命無夭橫故。

爾時毗樓勒叉天王白佛言。世尊我亦以助佛神力宣說延命陀羅尼曰。

唵嚩日羅(二合)諭勢摩蹬擬摩蹬擬摩蹬擬你輸摩輸謀嚩(二合)賀

說是陀羅尼已。獲得壽命無夭橫故。

爾時毗樓博叉天王白佛言。世尊我亦以助佛神力故助宣延命陀羅尼曰。

唵嚩日羅(二合)諭勢者理者理者理隸

說是陀羅尼令諸眾生獲金剛壽命無夭橫故。

吒天王白佛言。世尊我亦以佛神力宣說延命陀羅尼曰。

唵嚩日羅(二合)諭勢未臨嚩嚩嚩娑嚩(二合)賀

說是陀羅尼已。令諸眾生獲金剛壽命無夭橫故。

爾時佛告四天王言。若有眾生怖畏死難病苦夭橫。有如是苦。但書寫此經受持讀誦。或別持此陀羅尼。或畫普賢延命像。作此方法依月一日八日十五日。建立道場燒四十九燈。花香果藥各置十六器散於壇上。合掌禮拜高聲讚詠此陀羅尼。及懺悔往咎。不墮三惡道。舍此身獲得金剛壽命更不輪迴。若有比丘尼及四眾。轉讀此經而不廢忘。離於短命夭橫之怖。及夜惡夢厭魅咒咀惡形羅剎鳥鳴百怪之屬。亦不為水火兵毒之所傷害。一切諸佛及大菩薩攝受護念。亦得諸佛之所護念。

爾時世尊說是經已。菩薩摩訶薩天人四眾及毗沙門天王等一切大眾。皆大歡喜信受奉行。

【English Translation】 English version: Dhṛtarāṣṭra (Guardian King of the East) said to the Buddha: 'World Honored One, I also, by the power of the Buddha, proclaim the longevity-extending dhāraṇī, which is as follows:' 'Oṃ vajra-yuṣe vimala vava vava svāhā' 'Having spoken this dhāraṇī, it enables all sentient beings to obtain a vajra-like lifespan, free from untimely and violent death.' At that time, the Buddha told the Four Heavenly Kings: 'If there are sentient beings who fear death, suffering from illness, and untimely or violent death, and experience such suffering, they should simply write this sutra, receive, uphold, read, and recite it, or separately uphold this dhāraṇī, or draw an image of Samantabhadra (Universal Worthy) Longevity Extender. Following this method, on the first, eighth, and fifteenth days of each month, establish a maṇḍala, light forty-nine lamps, and place sixteen offerings each of flowers, incense, fruits, and medicine, scattering them on the altar. Join your palms in reverence, loudly praise and chant this dhāraṇī, and repent of past transgressions, so as not to fall into the three evil realms. After abandoning this body, they will obtain a vajra-like lifespan and no longer be reborn in the cycle of reincarnation. If there are bhikṣus (monks), bhikṣuṇīs (nuns), and the fourfold assembly (monks, nuns, laymen, and laywomen) who transmit and read this sutra without forgetting, they will be free from the fear of short life and untimely death, as well as nightmares, bewitchment, curses, hideous rākṣasas (demons), ominous bird calls, and all kinds of strange occurrences. They will also not be harmed by water, fire, weapons, or poison. All Buddhas and great Bodhisattvas will embrace, protect, and remember them, and they will also receive the protection of all Buddhas.'
