華言聖彌勒愿王。

敬禮一切諸佛菩薩摩訶薩。

佛告阿難。夫彌勒菩薩摩訶薩。往昔誓行菩提行時。晝夜六時。偏袒右肩。右膝著地。合掌恭敬。而發如是愿文。

敬禮一切佛  及具天眼仙  菩薩摩訶薩  並諸聲聞眾  令避惡趣𡑞  而示涅槃路  引入無老死  敬禮菩提心  我由無明心  所作一切罪  今于佛面前  懺悔盡無餘  自我三業門  所積資糧福  是我普慧種  愿我道無盡  十方諸國中  所有供養佛  佛昔隨喜者  我今皆隨喜  懺悔一切罪  隨喜諸善根  敬禮一切佛  愿得大智慧  十方一切處  所有大菩薩  止於十地者  請速等正覺  既證圓覺心  降伏諸魔軍  為利諸有情  愿請轉法輪  以大法鼓音  度眾生苦際  愿經無量劫  常住世說法  祈運大悲智  慈濟諸有情  陷溺貪慾澤  恩愛所纏縛  眾生被障礙  諸佛不憎捐  慈悲諸含

【English Translation】 English version Taisho Tripitaka Volume 20, No. 1144 The Sutra of the Vows of King Maitreya Bodhisattva No. 1144 The Sutra of the Vows of King Maitreya Bodhisattva Translated by Gongbu Zhabu, the Chief Translator of Tibetan and Mongolian Texts, and Supervisor of Tibetan Studies in the Cabinet. Sanskrit: Ārya Maitreya Pranidhāna-rāja-gāthā Chinese: The Holy Vows of King Maitreya. Homage to all Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Mahasattvas. The Buddha told Ananda: 'Maitreya Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, in his past vows to practice the Bodhisattva path, would bare his right shoulder, place his right knee on the ground, and with palms joined in reverence, make the following vows, six times day and night.' Homage to all Buddhas, and immortals with divine eyes, Bodhisattvas-Mahasattvas, and all the Shravaka assembly, Leading away from evil destinies, showing the path to Nirvana, Guiding into the absence of old age and death, homage to the Bodhi-mind. All the sins I have committed, due to my ignorance, Now before the Buddhas, I repent without remainder. The merit and accumulation of resources, from my three karmic doors, Are the seeds of my universal wisdom; may my path be endless. In all the countries of the ten directions, all offerings to the Buddhas, Whatever the Buddhas rejoiced in, I now rejoice in all of it. I repent all sins, I rejoice in all roots of goodness, I pay homage to all Buddhas, may I attain great wisdom. In all places of the ten directions, all great Bodhisattvas, Dwelling in the ten Bhumis, I request you to quickly attain perfect enlightenment. Having realized the heart of perfect enlightenment, subduing all the armies of Mara, For the benefit of all sentient beings, I request you to turn the Dharma wheel. With the sound of the great Dharma drum, delivering beings from the shore of suffering, May I, through immeasurable kalpas, constantly abide in the world to teach the Dharma. Praying to wield great compassion and wisdom, to charitably aid all sentient beings, Sunk in the swamp of greed, entangled by the bonds of love, Sentient beings are obstructed, may the Buddhas not abandon them with aversion, Compassionate to all beings.


識  拔出三有海  一切三世佛  所行諸道法  我今皆隨學  愿證菩提道  同登六彼岸  度六道眾生  證得六神通  愿成無上道  無生及本源  無處無自性  悟此真空理  無智亦無得  無命無眾生  無背無取向  愿達無我法  即等大仙佛  愿不住二執  所攝一切物  為利益眾生  不吝行佈施  物種侈靡盛  我應用豐足  物性等空寂  圓滿佈施度  所受止作品  無瑕最清凈  及無癡矜慢  圓滿戒律度  如地水火風  四大無觸背  侵犯靡瞋恨  圓滿忍辱度  發心始終勤  恒喜不懈弛  身心勇猛力  圓滿精進度  調伏正定聚  如幻三摩地  金剛禪那等  圓滿靜慮度  三種解脫門  三時平等法  聞思修明了  圓滿智慧度  諸佛所稱讚  熾盛光赫奕  勤修菩薩行  圓滿自他志  行此菩提道  名稱慈氏子  圓滿六度行  超於十地位

我以此善愿眾生  命終速往兜率宮  受生皆于見法閣  即為慈氏之長子  十地自在降閻浮  證得十力大位時  愿受妙法甘露味  圓滿佛行盡無餘  從此命終承願力  即得上生兜率天  忻慶奉事慈氏尊  速得承授菩提記

阿難。當知慈氏菩薩摩訶薩。如此

以實善巧修凈行業。道路平順。而獲無上菩提。成等正覺。成就真實大方便門。

按此經于漢藏未見。而番本亦無出。然西國諸賢。頗有註解。且普同作為恒常功課。與華嚴行愿品。三十五佛行愿品。稱為三種大懺愿。愚略擬之。蓋初自梵文譯時。或於彌勒上生下生等經。節取切要者也(多分唐竺法護所譯。彌勒菩薩下生經相近)今時海內清寧。三教並盛。資用不乏。人民向善者多。近來常聞修建龍華會者。憶為或有欲持誦者。因特譯出漢文。便於信氏誦讀仰祈。

聖慈加護廣佈流通為愿焉。

【現代漢語翻譯】 現代漢語譯本:以真實的善巧方便修習清凈的行業,道路平坦順暢,從而獲得無上的菩提,成就正等正覺,成就真實的大方便之門。

【English Translation】 English version: With genuine skillful means, cultivate pure conduct, so that the path is smooth and unobstructed, thereby attaining unsurpassed Bodhi, accomplishing perfect enlightenment, and realizing the true great gate of expedient means (Upaya).

According to this scripture, it has not been found in either Chinese or Tibetan canons, nor does it appear as a separate text in Tibetan versions. However, many Western sages have made commentaries on it, and it is universally regarded as a constant practice. It is known, along with the 'Samantabhadra's Vows' from the Avatamsaka Sutra and the 'Thirty-Five Buddhas' Practice and Vows,' as the three great repentance practices. I (the translator) roughly speculate that it was probably initially translated from Sanskrit, or selected essential parts from scriptures such as the 'Maitreya's Birth Above' and 'Maitreya's Birth Below' Sutras (likely the content of the 'Maitreya Bodhisattva's Descent Sutra' translated by Dharmaraksa (竺法護) of the Tang Dynasty). Now, the country is peaceful and prosperous, Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism are all flourishing, resources are not lacking, and many people are inclined towards goodness. Recently, I have often heard of people building the Longhua Assembly (龍華會). Considering that perhaps some people would like to recite this scripture, I have specially translated it into Chinese to facilitate the faithful in reciting and praying.

May the holy compassion and protection be added, and may this scripture be widely disseminated.
