There were hundreds of thousands of millions of Nayutas (Nayuta, a large number) of beings. All were Anointed (Abhisheka, a ritual in Vajrayana Buddhism symbolizing empowerment) and irreversible. I beseech the World Honored One to permit me to speak this method of salvation, so that the various evil spirits may be subdued, allowing practitioners to command them at will, and restoring the elder to his former state.' At that time, the World Honored One emitted a beam of light ten thousand fathoms long from the hair between his eyebrows, illuminating the body of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. The Bodhisattva then knew that the Tathagata had permitted him to proclaim this Dharma. At that time, the assembly said to one another, 'Today, the Tathagata is emitting light to illuminate the Bodhisattva's body. This Bodhisattva will surely accomplish great Dharma and teach and transform sentient beings.' 說此咒已而白佛言。世尊凡欲作法。先取五種妙香。第一白檀(一兩)第二乳頭(一兩)第三丁香(一兩)第四青木(一兩)第五百和合(一兩)。取上件五種妙香。細搗白蜜和之。其香一一白市不得向鼻嗅恣。殘穢去令香。曰念我名字。合香訖。即于自房中。或於曉野處。或在高原。但隨行人所樂處即住。作法取凈布七尺乳粥七盞。行凈布之上。取白磁香爐。此香召諸鬼。名曰那邏速那邏速。重道此語。稱喚三召訖。即誦咒三百遍。未作法前。不得漫誦一番。三召誦三百遍畢。次複誦咒二百遍。依前三召。複次又誦一百遍亦當三召。至三度三日。每日夜皆然。余時但念地藏名字。世尊其法者一日有一相。第一日有異色云。從頂上起及有異香。第二日有百寶蓮華。空中現及如意寶現。第三日大風及兩空中有鈴聲。行人若見是相。必有諸天藉助威力。於時世間一切諸鬼神等。並皆雲集側塞虛空。行人自知諸鬼神來詣。未得明見。若欲見時。依三前誦咒一二百遍。即微現身亦未明現。

【English Translation】 Those who practice this Dharma. If you have gathered ghosts and want them to appear, take clear water and sprinkle it towards the ghosts. Then form the Dushe Mudra (gathering all). First, slightly lift the left foot and stand straight on the right foot. Bend the left thumb, pressing the index finger of the palm onto the lower joint lines. Make a fist with the right hand and let it hang down. Then call out the previously recorded names three times. The ghosts will then appear, causing fear. When they appear, recite the previous mantra once, then point at the ghosts. They will sit quietly and remain silent. If the ghosts and spirits appear in a form that causes fear, form the Suixin Jiushe Mudra (following the heart rescue). As before, slightly bend the left foot, then cross the left and right hands, palms together, so there will be no fear. After completing the practice, if you wish to speak with the ghosts, knock your teeth three to five times, then open your mouth and say loudly: 'Duō duō, who are you who have come here? I possess a divine mantra that can eliminate evil ghosts. If you do not submit, you will die in an instant.' Duō duō. When saying these words, the ghosts will prostrate in fear, with one mind having right thoughts, each abandoning evil intentions. Repeat these words three times, and the ghosts will confess their sins deserving death. World Honored One, those ghosts and spirits will feel fear. After subduing them, you must make them happy, form the Abhaya Mudra (fearless mudra). Bring both feet together, let the right hand hang down, and bend the left hand upwards towards the heart. Bend the little finger and ring finger towards the palm, pressing the thumb on their joints. As before, call out their names three times. The ghosts will then approach the practitioner and say: 'Great Bodhisattva, I am a ghost, suffering extremely heavy retribution, constantly disturbing all beings, seeking people's faults, and constantly consuming the blood of beings, never stopping. Thanks to the Great Bodhisattva's power in bringing me here, allowing me to generate the Bodhi mind. Even if I were to shatter this body into dust, it would be difficult to repay the Great Bodhisattva's kindness. I only hope that the Great Bodhisattva will speak the Dharma of eliminating sins for me, and transform this evil body.' The practitioner then preaches the Buddha Dharma to the ghosts as they wish, allowing them to understand. After hearing the Dharma, the ghosts will generate joy, and then discuss worldly matters with the practitioner, teaching sentient beings, and fulfilling their wishes as they wish. I and you are often good friends, helping sentient beings, following the desires of all sentient beings' hearts. We and you will give together.' World Honored One, if a practitioner wants to command ghosts, they should write this talisman with cinnabar, and then swallow it after three seals, commanding the ghosts of the nine provinces of the world. Then perform the ritual, making the ghosts swiftly travel everywhere without obstruction. World Honored One, if a practitioner enters the sea to collect treasures, and various poisonous dragons, evil beasts, turtles, and alligators want to harm them, summon the ghost to speak to them, and all the evil beasts will sink into the mud and not come out again. World Honored One, if a practitioner is cursed, suppressed, and has their soul taken away by others, in the direction indicated by the five paths, make vows to heaven and earth, summon the ghost to speak to the evil people, and in an instant, those evil people will be bound, their mouths shut, blood flowing from their eyes and ears, large snakes coiling around their feet and hands, causing them to bend themselves, suffering such pain. World Honored One, wanting to relieve this pain, summon the ghost to speak to the evil people, telling them to release, and say: 'Su □ lu li'. After saying this, the pain should be relieved. World Honored One, if the enemies of a Dharma-holder are looking for the faults of the messenger, summon the ghost to speak to the enemies, and the enemies will be bound and brought to the practitioner on the same day. It can also command certain ghosts and spirits, quickly gaining strength, allowing them to reach the realm of profound spirituality, knowing the affairs of life before death. The Dharma they cultivate can quickly escape the world. World Honored One, whoever wants to recite mantras or perform various rituals must do so secretly when reciting mantras and summoning ghosts and spirits, without making a sound.
