The Sutra of the Supreme Transcendence of the Three Realms from the Vajra Peak, on the Auspicious Appearance of the Five-Syllable Mantra of Manjushri, One Volume
Translated by the Tripitaka Master Amoghavajra of Daxingshan Temple, holding the titles of Grand Master of the State, Grand Preceptor of the Three Departments, Acting Minister of the Court of Imperial Sacrifices, Duke Su of the State of Zheng, enjoying a fief of three thousand households, bestowed with purple robes, posthumously awarded the title of Minister of Works, with the posthumous name 'Dajian' and the honorary title 'Greatly Wise', under imperial decree.
At that time, Vajrapani Bodhisattva Mahasattva (the great being, Bodhisattva, who holds the vajra in his hand) and all the other Bodhisattvas, in the presence of Vairocana Buddha (the Buddha of pervasive light), each recited their own heart mantra and mudra. Thereupon, Manjushri Bodhisattva Mahasattva (the great being, Bodhisattva Manjushri) arose from his seat and said to the Buddha: 'World Honored One, I now, for the sake of benefiting all sentient beings in the future, so that they may quickly attain Maha Prajna Paramita (the great perfection of wisdom), if a person recites this mantra even once, it is like reciting the eighty-four thousand twelve sections of the Vedas. If they recite it twice, Manjushri (the Bodhisattva of Wisdom) and Samantabhadra (the Bodhisattva of Universal Goodness) will follow them, and the fourfold assembly will surround and bless them. Compassionate and fearless Dharma-protecting deities will be before that person.' Ananda (one of the ten great disciples of the Buddha) asked Manjushri: 'When this mantra is recited, ten trillion Buddhas appear.' Like these Buddhas, from each pore of each Buddha emanate ten trillion Bodhisattvas, from each pore of each Bodhisattva emanate ten trillion Dragon Kings, from each pore of each Dragon King emanate ten trillion Dragon Maidens, from each pore of each Dragon Maiden emanate ten trillion blue elephants, from each pore of each blue elephant emanate ten trillion white elephants, from each pore of each white elephant emanate ten trillion fragrant elephants, from each pore of each fragrant elephant emanate ten trillion mountain elephants, from each pore of each mountain elephant appear ten trillion jeweled palaces, and from each jeweled palace appear ten trillion pools of water with eight qualities of merit. These pools are made of the four precious substances, and each pool emits ten trillion rays of Jambudvipa gold light. Moreover, within each ray of light appear ten trillion orbs of light, and each orb of light transforms into ten trillion celestial maidens, holding various offerings with reverence. Thus, countless as the sands of the Ganges River, the fourfold assembly gathers together at once, reciting this mantra in unison, manifesting Samadhi (a state of meditative consciousness) threefold.'
昧。我今略說少耳。知其功德無量。即說五字真言曰。

若善男子善女人。有能持此真言。才誦一遍即入如來一切法平等。一切文字亦皆平等。速得成就摩訶般若。為諸弟子受此心真言時。令結密印。以二手金剛縛。並建忍愿屈上節如劍形。印上承華散壇供養。然應告言。此心法門一切如來秘密最勝。慎勿輕爾為愚人說。破汝三昧戒。善諦思惟。
阿者是無生義。
啰者清凈無染離塵垢義。
跛者亦無第一義諦諸法平等義。
左者諸法無有諸行義。
曩者諸法無有性相。說言文字皆不可得義。
以曩字無有性相故。左字無有諸行。以左字無諸行故。跛字無第一義諦。以跛字無第一義諦故。啰字無有塵垢。以啰字無有塵垢故。阿字法本不生義。善男子當觀是心本來清凈無所染著。離我我所分別之相。入此門者名三摩地。是真修習。當知是人如來印可。殊勝功德不可思議。若誦一遍能除行人一切苦難。若誦兩遍除滅億劫生死重罪。若誦三遍三昧現前。若誦四遍總持不忘。若誦五遍速成無上菩提。若能一心獨處閑靜。梵書五字輪壇。依法念誦滿一月已。曼殊菩薩即現其身。或於空中演說法要。是時行者得宿命智。辯才無礙神足自在。勝愿成就福智具足。速能

【English Translation】 English version: Now I will briefly say a little. Know that its merits are immeasurable. I will now speak the five-syllable mantra, which is: Arapacana (Manjusri Bodhisattva's heart mantra) If a good man or good woman is able to uphold this mantra, just reciting it once will enter the equality of all dharmas of the Tathagata (如來), and all letters are also equal. One will quickly attain Maha-prajna (大智慧). When transmitting this heart mantra to disciples, have them form the secret mudra. Use both hands to form the Vajra-bandha mudra (金剛縛印), and erect the forbearance and wish fingers, bending the upper joints like a sword shape. Use the mudra to receive flowers and scatter them as offerings on the altar. Then you should tell them that this heart dharma gate is the most secret and supreme of all Tathagatas, and be careful not to lightly speak it to foolish people, lest you break your Samaya (三昧戒) vow. Think about it carefully. The syllable A (阿) means unborn. The syllable Ra (啰) means pure, unblemished, and free from dust. The syllable Pa (跛) also means without the ultimate truth, and the equality of all dharmas. The syllable Ca (左) means that all dharmas have no actions. The syllable Na (曩) means that all dharmas have no inherent nature or characteristics, and that words are unobtainable. Because the syllable Na has no inherent nature or characteristics, the syllable Ca has no actions. Because the syllable Ca has no actions, the syllable Pa has no ultimate truth. Because the syllable Pa has no ultimate truth, the syllable Ra has no dust. Because the syllable Ra has no dust, the syllable A means that the dharma is fundamentally unborn. Good man, you should contemplate that this mind is originally pure, without defilement, and free from the distinctions of 'I' and 'mine'. Entering this gate is called Samadhi (三摩地). This is true practice. You should know that this person is approved by the Tathagata, and their supreme merits are inconceivable. If recited once, it can remove all the sufferings of the practitioner. If recited twice, it can eradicate the heavy sins of countless kalpas of birth and death. If recited three times, Samadhi will manifest. If recited four times, one will attain total retention and not forget. If recited five times, one will quickly attain Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi (無上菩提). If one can single-mindedly dwell in a quiet place, write the five-syllable wheel mandala in Sanskrit, and recite it according to the Dharma for a full month, Manjusri Bodhisattva (曼殊菩薩) will manifest his body, or expound the Dharma in the air. At this time, the practitioner will obtain knowledge of past lives, unimpeded eloquence, supernatural powers, and the fulfillment of supreme wishes, possessing both merit and wisdom, and will quickly be able to...

【English Translation】 English version: To attest to the Dharmakāya (Dharmakāya, the body of the Dharma) of the Tathāgata (Tathāgata, 'Thus Gone One', an epithet of the Buddha), simply believe and accept it in your heart, and after sixteen rebirths, you will surely attain Samyak-saṃbuddha (Samyak-saṃbuddha, Perfect Enlightenment). If you lack the ability to establish a mandala (Maṇḍala, a symbolic diagram), offer fragrant flowers and draw the image of your Iṣṭa-deva (Iṣṭa-deva, chosen deity), you can use fragrant mud to coat the Stupa (Śarīra, relics) containing Śarīra (Śarīra, relics of the Buddha or saints), write the five-syllable mantra (Pañcākṣarī, five-syllable mantra) in Sanskrit, and circumambulate while reciting it five hundred thousand times. Mañjuśrī Bodhisattva (Mañjuśrī, the Bodhisattva of wisdom) will appear before that person and expound the Dharma. You will then obtain wisdom and eloquence regarding past lives.
