如是我聞。一時佛住凈居天寶莊嚴道場中。與大菩薩及凈居諸天眾俱。爾時世尊大慈大悲。於此會中普告一切諸天眾言。汝等善聽文殊師利童子行輪咒法。為欲守護諸眾生故。一切如來所有秘密心大神咒王。我今當爲汝等開示顯說。若有誦者。我記此人則為已持一切諸咒悉皆圓滿。一切所作皆得成就。更無過者。汝等應知此陀羅尼。于諸咒中是大神咒王有大神力。若善男子善女人能受持者。文殊師利童子菩薩常來擁護。或於覺時或於夢中。為現身相及諸善事。能令此人生大歡喜。諸善男子此之咒王尚能攝得文殊師利童子菩薩。況余菩薩及世出世賢聖等眾。複次善男子。此咒能消一切災障一切惡夢。一切怨敵一切五逆四重十惡罪業。一切惡邪不祥咒法。亦能成辦一切善事具大精進。當知是咒於世出世種種咒中為最殊勝。是諸佛心能令一切所愿皆悉滿足。若以五色綖。結咒索系其項上。擁護其身亦令諸愿。皆得圓滿無超過者。即說咒曰。

『再者,善男子,此咒能消除一切災障、一切惡夢、一切怨敵、一切五逆四重十惡罪業、一切惡邪不祥的咒法,也能成辦一切善事,具有大精進。應當知道此咒在世間和出世間的各種咒語中最為殊勝,是諸佛的心,能讓一切所愿都滿足。如果用五色絲線結成咒索,繫在脖子上,能擁護他的身體,也能讓各種願望都得到圓滿,沒有超過此咒的。』

The Manjushri Root One-Syllable Dharani Sutra in the Great Vaipulya Bodhisattva Pitaka Sutra

Thus have I heard. At one time, the Buddha was dwelling in the adorned Bodhimanda in Pure Abode Heaven, together with great Bodhisattvas and the assembly of Pure Abode Devas. At that time, the World-Honored One, with great compassion, universally announced to all the Devas in the assembly, saying: 'You should listen carefully to the mantra practices of Manjushri (Manjushri) Kumara, for the sake of protecting all sentient beings. I shall now reveal and explain to you the great, secret, heart mantra-king possessed by all Tathagatas. If there are those who recite it, I guarantee that they have already upheld all mantras, and all will be fulfilled. All actions will be accomplished, and there is nothing greater than this. You should know that this Dharani is the great mantra-king among all mantras, possessing great divine power. If good men and good women are able to receive and uphold it, Manjushri Kumara Bodhisattva will always come to protect them, either when awake or in dreams, manifesting his form and various auspicious events, enabling them to generate great joy.'
'Good men, this mantra-king is capable of even attracting Manjushri Kumara Bodhisattva, let alone other Bodhisattvas and the wise and holy beings of the world and beyond.'
'Furthermore, good men, this mantra can eliminate all disasters, all bad dreams, all enemies, all heinous sins of the five rebellious acts, the four grave offenses, and the ten evil deeds, and all evil and inauspicious spells. It can also accomplish all good deeds and possess great diligence. Know that this mantra is the most supreme among all mantras in the world and beyond. It is the heart of all Buddhas, capable of fulfilling all wishes. If one ties a mantra-rope made of five-colored threads around the neck, it will protect the body and also fulfill all wishes completely, with nothing surpassing it.'
Then he spoke the mantra:
唵齒𡄦(二合𡄦字離禁反)
諸佛子等此咒能滅一切惡邪魍魎。諸鬼是一切諸佛吉祥之法。亦能成就一切神咒。誦此咒者。能令眾生起大慈心。能令眾生起大悲心。一切障礙皆得消滅。所有諸愿皆得滿足。未作法時。即能成辦如意之事。若發無上大菩提心。誦之一遍力能守護自身。若誦兩遍力能守護同伴。若誦三遍力能守護一宅中人。若誦四遍力能守護一城中人。若誦五遍力能守護一國中人。若誦六遍力能守護一天下人。若誦七遍力能守護四天下人。若以清旦誦一遍。咒水洗面能令見者歡喜。咒香薰衣亦令見者歡喜。若患齒痛。咒揩齒木嚼之。揩齒所痛即差。若有女人產難之時。取阿吒盧沙迦根或郎伽利迦根。咒之七遍。以無蟲水和摩之。涂于產女臍中兒即易生。或諸男子為箭所中。鏃入筋骨拔之不出。以十年酥三兩咒一百八遍。安瘡中及食之。箭鏃即出。若婦人五年乃至二十三十年不生男女者。或自有病。或男子有病。鬼魅所著種種病等。或為毒藥所中。當以十年已上酥五兩。孔雀羽一兩內于酥中咒之二十一遍。煎之搗為末。以石蜜一兩大呵梨勒三顆。去核取皮相和。咒之一百八遍。常以清旦空腹盡服之。於七日中即有男女。若患頭痛以烏翅羽咒之七遍。拂痛人頭患即除愈。若患瘧病一日二日乃至七日。

【English Translation】 English version Om Chi-li (The pronunciation of '𡄦' is 'lí jìn fǎn' in Sanskrit)
O sons of the Buddhas, this mantra can destroy all evil and demonic entities. These deities are the auspicious Dharma of all Buddhas. It can also accomplish all divine mantras. Those who recite this mantra can inspire great compassion in sentient beings. All obstacles can be eliminated, and all wishes can be fulfilled. Even before performing rituals, it can accomplish desired matters. If one generates the supreme Bodhi mind, reciting it once can protect oneself. Reciting it twice can protect companions. Reciting it three times can protect the people in one's dwelling. Reciting it four times can protect the people in one's city. Reciting it five times can protect the people in one's country. Reciting it six times can protect the people in one Jambudvipa (one continent). Reciting it seven times can protect the people in the four continents. If one recites it once in the early morning and uses the mantra-infused water to wash the face, it can bring joy to those who see you. Incensing clothes with mantra-infused incense can also bring joy to those who see you. If one suffers from toothache, chew on mantra-infused tooth-cleaning wood (toothbrush), and the pain will immediately subside after cleaning the teeth. If a woman experiences difficult labor, take the root of Atarushaka (a type of herb) or Langgalika (another type of herb), chant the mantra over it seven times, mix it with insect-free water and grind it, then apply it to the navel of the woman in labor, and the child will be born easily. Or if a man is struck by an arrow, and the arrowhead is lodged deep in the tendons and bones, making it difficult to remove, use three taels of ghee (clarified butter) that is ten years old or older, chant the mantra over it one hundred and eight times, apply it to the wound and ingest it, and the arrowhead will come out. If a woman has not conceived for five, twenty, or even thirty years, either due to her own illness or the man's illness, or due to being possessed by demons, or due to being poisoned, then use five taels of ghee that is ten years old or older, place one tael of peacock feathers in the ghee, chant the mantra over it twenty-one times, boil it, grind it into powder, mix it with one large tael of rock honey (honey) and three Haritaki fruits (a type of medicinal fruit), removing the pits and taking the skin, chant the mantra over it one hundred and eight times, and take it all on an empty stomach in the early morning. Within seven days, they will have children. If one suffers from headache, use a black-winged feather, chant the mantra over it seven times, and brush the head of the person suffering from pain, and the pain will immediately be eliminated and healed. If one suffers from malaria, for one day, two days, or even seven days.
或常患者。以純乳煮粥。著好酥一兩咒之一百八遍。與病人服之即得除愈。諸善男子以要言之。若欲合和一切湯藥及欲服者。先須至心誦之二十一遍速得如願。複次善男子若有一切眾生。為飛頭鬼所執。以手自摩其面。誦咒一百八遍作可畏相貌。便以左手作本生印。以大母指屈在掌中。用后四指押大母指上。急把拳。即自努目陰誦此咒。而看病者所患即除。若人患一切鬼病。以咒咒右手一百八遍。燒安息香薰之。左手作本生印。右手磨病人頭患即除愈。若有怨敵及諸惡夢。種種怖畏身心不安。以七色綖結咒索作蓮花形。或作輪形或作金剛杵形。咒之一百八遍。燒安息香薰之。於七日中系自身項上。一切厄難悉皆消散。或以牛黃研之為墨。于凈紙上或帛練上。畫作所怖者形。于其四邊作齒𡄦字圍之。或作蓮花或作輪字。或作卍字螺魚金剛鉤寶瓶等圍之。咒之七遍所怖即除。諸善男子若欲經過師子虎狼毒蛇怨賊一切險難之處。當須凈其身心。不得近諸女人及吃一切五辛酒肉蕓薹胡荽。于諸眾生起大悲想。至心誦咒咒之四十九遍。而諸怨惡自然退散。縱令遇之無不歡喜。諸善男子此咒縱令一切眾生。或於一劫或無量劫。乃至名字不可得聞。何況得見。專心念誦假令七寶象馬滿閻浮提。猶是世間滅壞之法。此陀羅尼咒。能令眾

【English Translation】 English version Or those who are frequently ill. Cook porridge with pure milk. Add one ounce of fine clarified butter (ghrita), chant the mantra one hundred and eight times, and give it to the patient to drink, and they will be cured. O good men, in short, if you wish to compound all kinds of decoctions or wish to take medicine, you must first sincerely recite this mantra twenty-one times, and you will quickly get your wish. Furthermore, O good men, if there are any sentient beings possessed by flying head ghosts, they should rub their faces with their hands, chant the mantra one hundred and eight times, and make a terrifying appearance. Then, with the left hand, form the 'original birth mudra' (bend the thumb into the palm, press the four remaining fingers on top of the thumb, and clench the fist tightly). Then, glare and silently chant this mantra while looking at the afflicted person, and the ailment will be eliminated. If a person suffers from any ghost-related illness, chant the mantra over the right hand one hundred and eight times, burn benzoin incense to fumigate it, form the 'original birth mudra' with the left hand, and rub the patient's head with the right hand, and the illness will be cured. If there are enemies and various nightmares, various fears, and the body and mind are uneasy, use seven-colored threads to tie a mantra rope, making it in the shape of a lotus, or a wheel, or a vajra (dorje), chant the mantra one hundred and eight times, burn benzoin incense to fumigate it, and tie it around your neck for seven days, and all calamities will be dispelled. Or grind cow-bezoar into ink, and on clean paper or silk, draw the shape of what is feared, and draw teeth (𡄦) around it on all four sides, or draw a lotus, or a wheel character, or draw a swastika (卍), conch, fish, vajra hook, treasure vase, etc., around it. Chant the mantra seven times, and the fear will be eliminated. O good men, if you wish to pass through dangerous and difficult places with lions, tigers, wolves, poisonous snakes, enemies, and thieves, you must purify your body and mind, and not approach women, nor eat the five pungent roots (garlic, onions, leeks, chives, asafoetida), wine, meat, rape, or coriander. Generate great compassion towards all sentient beings, and sincerely chant the mantra forty-nine times, then all enemies and evils will naturally retreat, and even if you encounter them, they will be delighted. O good men, even if all sentient beings, for one kalpa (aeon) or countless kalpas, cannot even hear the name of this mantra, let alone see it. If you single-mindedly recite it, even if Jambudvipa (the continent south of Mount Meru) is filled with seven treasures, elephants, and horses, it is still a worldly and destructible dharma. 生現世當來常獲安隱。與諸如來大菩薩眾常為眷屬。若為自身若為他身。所愿皆得。是故慇勤生難遇想。勿得輕慢起疑惑心。

【English Translation】 English version: In this life and the life to come, one will always obtain peace and security. One will always be in the company of all the Tathagatas (如來, Thus Come Ones), and great Bodhisattvas (菩薩, beings who seek enlightenment). Whether for oneself or for others, all wishes will be fulfilled. Therefore, one should diligently generate the thought of rare encounter (生難遇想, thinking that this Dharani is very rare), and not be disrespectful or give rise to doubts.
