【English Translation】 English version The Sutra of the Most Excellent and Truly Real Names and Meanings Spoken by the Buddha on Manjusri Bodhisattva

Homage to Manjusri Bodhisattva (Manjusri).
Auspicious one holding the Vajra, able to subdue the difficult to subdue, Bravely victorious over the three realms, the sovereign secret lord. Eyes like blue lotus petals, face full like a lotus flower, Holding the vajra scepter, throwing it again and again with his hands. Manifesting frowning brows and other countless Vajra-holders, Also having the form of subduing demons, fierce and greatly terrifying. Releasing the flaming light of the great vajra scepter, hurling the vajra scepter, With great compassion and great wisdom, skillfully benefiting sentient beings. Sometimes leaping with joy, sometimes manifesting an angry countenance, All following the teachings of the Buddhas, personally going to the World Honored One. Prostrating to the Bhagavan (Bhagavan), the Tathagata, the Perfectly Enlightened One, Joining palms with respectful hearts, squatting and reporting: O Lord of All (Samantabhadra), may you have compassion and pity, for the sake of benefiting us, Please, with the net of illusion, enable us to attain Bodhi (Bodhi). Also for the ignorant fools, those drowned in afflictions and suffering, And for such beings as these, to realize the unsurpassed fruit, Ultimate Perfect Enlightenment, the World Honored One, the tamer of beings. Understanding the Samaya (Samaya), the tranquility of the senses, and so forth, The Bhagavan of the Wisdom Body, the Lord of Speech with the Great Crown, Born from great wisdom, Manjusri Wisdom Sattva (Manjusri-jnanasattva). Proclaiming the most excellent names, the profound and vast meaning of tranquility, The Great Dharma is unparalleled, good in the beginning, good in the middle, good in the end. The Buddhas of the past have already spoken, the Buddhas of the future will speak, The Buddhas of the present are now speaking, the three times are all like this. The Great Teaching, the Net of Illusion, the Secret-Holding Vajra Hand (Vajrapani), Countless multitudes rejoice, may you proclaim the wonderful sound. The secret words spoken by the Buddha, we are able to receive and uphold, With resolute and steadfast hearts.

【English Translation】 English version Having attained perfect enlightenment, To extinguish all afflictions, to sever ignorance and wisdom, To accord with the different capacities (of beings), I vow to speak the most supreme Dharma. The secret lord Vajrapani (Vajrapani, a Dharma protector in Buddhism), having reported to the World Honored One, Came before (the World Honored One), joined his palms, and stood respectfully. Thus, Bhagavan (Bhagavan, The Blessed One), the Bodhi arises from the letter 'A'. The letter 'A' is the most supreme, a profound and subtle letter of great meaning. Great birth, meaning no birth, far removed from verbal expression. The supreme cause of sound, capable of revealing all verbal expressions. Great greed, great offering, all beings rejoice. Great hatred, great offering, all afflictions, great enemies. Great delusion, great offering, dispelling foolishness from the deluded mind. Great wrath, great offering, great wrath, great harm from enemies. Great desire, great offering, capable of removing all cravings and desires. 【English Translation】 English version Born from the great secret mantra, the great secret rationality. Obtaining the ten Pāramitās (Daśa-pāramitā, ten perfections), abiding in the ten Pāramitās. Purifying the ten Pāramitās, understanding the truth of the ten Pāramitās. The Lord of the Ten Bhūmis (Daśa-bhūmi-vaśitā, the holy one who attains freedom by realizing the ten bhūmis), dwelling peacefully in the ten Bhūmis. My ten wisdoms are pure, the ten wisdoms are pure and firm. Having the meaning of ten aspects and ten benefits, the Muni (Muni, sage) possesses the ten powers. Universally accomplishing benefits, possessing the ten great freedoms. Without beginning and without frivolous talk, I and Suchness are pure. True speech and truthful words, speaking as it is, without speaking differently. The non-dual teaching is without duality, abiding in the true reality. The lion's roar of non-self, frightening the evil beasts of external paths. Walking and traveling in meaningful places, the Tathāgata has swift and quick thoughts. Overcoming enemies with superior power, the mighty Cakravartin (Cakravartin, the ideal ruler of the world). The most excellent among all teachers, the most free among all lords. The mighty are all revered, the great teaching cannot be overcome. The lord of speech is skillful in words, mastering boundless words. Speaking the true meaning with true words, proclaiming the Four Noble Truths (catvāri āryasatyāni, the basic teachings of Buddhism). The non-returning Anāgāmin (Anāgāmin, the third fruit of the path), the Śrāvaka (Śrāvaka, one who attains enlightenment by hearing the Dharma) and the Pratyekabuddha (Pratyekabuddha, a solitary Buddha). Although born in various ways, they share the same true nature. The Arhat (Arhat, a saint who has exhausted all defilements) who has exhausted all outflows, surpassing the root realms by being free from desire. Fearless and attaining bliss, cool and without afflictions. Perfect in knowledge and conduct (Vidyā-caraṇa-saṃpanna, possessing both wisdom and virtue), the Well-Gone (Sugata, one of the titles of the Tathāgata), Knower of the World (Lokavidū, one of the titles of the Tathāgata). The realm of discrimination is endless, revealing the subtle Dharmadhātu (Dharmadhātu, the nature of all dharmas). Possessing merit, accumulating merit, great wisdom arises from wisdom. Knowing with correct wisdom that nothing exists, accumulating the two accumulations (two accumulations for attaining Buddhahood). Always universally corresponding with the supreme, the mind of Samādhi is subtle and profound. Showing the body's form unmoving, the three bodies (trikāya, Dharmakāya, Sambhogakāya, Nirmāṇakāya) are the supreme foundation. Perfect enlightenment has the nature of the five bodies, pervading the nature of the five wisdoms. The wonderful jeweled crown of the Five Buddhas (Pañca-Buddha, the Five Dhyani Buddhas), the five eyes (pañca cakṣūṃsi, five kinds of eyes) are pure and without attachment. 【English Translation】 English version Wisdom is not born in the three realms of existence (the desire realm, the form realm, and the formless realm); the Dharma can sever the cycle of rebirth. The Vajra (Diamond) nature of reality is singular; from birth, it is the lord of sentient beings. Space arises naturally; it is the fire of great wisdom and great knowledge. It is great light that shines universally; the light of wisdom is exceedingly blazing. It is the lamp of the world, the torch of great wisdom, possessing great power and great light. It is the Vidyaraja (Wisdom King), the great mantra; it is the great benefit within secret mantras. It is the supreme crown, the rare crown, manifesting various forms in space. The Buddhas possess the nature of no-self; they possess eyes that bring joy to the world. It increases various colors; offering praise to the great sage. It holds the secret mantras of the three families; it is the supreme Three Jewels (Buddha, Dharma, Sangha). It proclaims the supreme Three Vehicles (Śrāvakayāna, Pratyekabuddhayāna, Bodhisattvayāna); it is the victory of Amoghapāśa (Unfailing Net). It wields the Vajra (Diamond) rope; it is the Vajra (Diamond) hook, the great rope.
The above is the praise of the Vairocana (Illuminator) Buddha Mandala, the one hundred and eight names of the wisdom of the pure Dharma realm, totaling twenty-four verses, each verse with three lines.
It can terrify, the Vajra (Diamond) Terror; it is the six-faced Wrathful King. It has six eyes, the power of six arms; bones exposed, biting sharp teeth. It possesses the appearance of a hundred faces laughing greatly; it is Yamantaka (the Destroyer of Yama, the Lord of Death). It is Vajra (Diamond) power, terror; it is the Vajra (Diamond) name and heart. It is the great illusion Vajra (Diamond) belly; it is the Vajra (Diamond) lord, capable of generating all things. Blow the great conch of Dharma, strike the great Dharma bell. Not dwelling in Nirvana (Nirvana), the Dharma drum resounds in the ten directions. Without form, manifesting wondrous appearances, mind-born various colors. The auspicious light of all colors, manifesting complete and unremaining images. The most victorious great fame, the great freedom of the three realms. Dwelling in the supreme holy path, erecting the great Dharma banner. The body of a child in the three realms, the appearance of an elder, the lord of the world. Or the thirty-two marks, dignified and surpassing the three realms. Understanding the teacher of the world, the teacher of the world is fearless. Being a refuge for the world, protecting and being unsurpassed. Enjoying the treasury of emptiness, the ocean of all-knowing wisdom. Splitting the ignorance egg, destroying the net of birth and death. Purifying all afflictions, crossing the sea of Samsara. 【English Translation】 English version The great ascetic with a rounded topknot, upholding the supreme Brahmacarya (pure conduct). Having exhausted suffering, completing the great ascetic practices, Gautama (the Buddha's family name) dwells in purity. Knowing Brahmacarya, realizing Brahmacarya, Nirvana (cessation) is the proof of Brahmacarya. Freed from bondage, the body is liberated, and liberation is a state of peacefulness. Attaining the quiescence of Nirvana, quickly achieving wondrous Parinirvana (complete Nirvana). Decisively cutting off the edges of suffering and pleasure, completely abandoning all desires. None can surpass, none can equal, neither revealing nor clinging. Unchanging, universally applied, without the subtle seeds of defilements. Without dust, free from dust and pure, without loss, without fault. Skilled in awakening Buddhata (Buddha-nature), all wisdom is unobstructed. Transcending the nature of Vijnana (consciousness), there is no second wisdom to observe. Perfectly accomplished, without discrimination, it is the Right Awakening practice of the Buddhas of the past, present, and future. Right Awakening has no beginning and no end, the first Buddha has no cause. With the eye of one wisdom, clear and pure, it is the wondrous wisdom body of the Tathagata (the Buddha). Skilled in speaking, freely speaking, the supreme King of Dharma. Supreme and incomparable, none can equal, the fearless lion's roar. Universally observing, causing all beings to rejoice, possessing supreme majestic light. Possessing wondrous light and auspicious signs, the light from the hands pervades and blazes. The great and excellent physician, capable of removing the suffering of all diseases. Also the wondrous medicinal tree, able to counteract the enemies of all diseases. Dignified and beautiful, transcending the three realms (Trailokya: desire realm, form realm, formless realm), like a Mandala (cosmic diagram) of stars. Universally establishing the great Dharma banner throughout the ten directions. Spreading the great parasol, with compassion as the Bodhimanda (place of enlightenment). The auspicious lotus dance, covering the great jeweled canopy. The Buddhas possess great majestic light, holding the bodies of all Right Awakenings. The Buddhas possess great correspondence, the Buddhas teach the same Dharma. Receiving the Vajra (diamond, symbol of indestructibility) jewel empowerment, the sovereign of all jewels. 【English Translation】 English version The Eight Noble Paths, the path to achieving perfect enlightenment (Samyak-sambodhi). All sentient beings are unattached like the void. Born in the minds of sentient beings, quickly responding to the intentions of sentient beings. Knowing the realms of the senses, seizing the minds of sentient beings. Understanding the true meaning of the five skandhas (form, feeling, perception, mental formations, consciousness), seeing the purity of the five skandhas. Abiding at the moment of birth, skillfully being born. Abiding on the path towards birth, universally showing the method of birth. Uprooting the root of the twelve branches (of dependent origination), purifying the twelve aspects. The meaning and aspects of the Four Noble Truths (suffering, origin, cessation, path), eight wisdoms arise from awakening. Twelve true meanings, the true nature of sixteen aspects. Twenty aspects of perfect enlightenment, all Buddhas fully know. The transformation bodies of the Buddhas appear in immeasurable numbers. In a single thought, all can manifest realization, in an instant understanding all meanings. With various skillful means, for the benefit of sentient beings. Although expounding the Dharma of the Three Vehicles (Śrāvakayāna, Pratyekabuddhayāna, Bodhisattvayāna), abiding in the fruit is only the One Vehicle (Buddhayāna). The realm of afflictions is purified, completely removing all karmic bonds. Having crossed the ocean of all sufferings, corresponding to what is born from corresponding actions. Afflictions and secondary afflictions, and habitual tendencies are completely cut off. With great compassion, wisdom, and skillful means, benefiting sentient beings. Cutting off the meaning of all imaginations, all consciousness-dharmas are extinguished. Conditioned by the minds of all sentient beings, understanding the minds of sentient beings. Abiding in the minds of sentient beings, entering according to their minds. Fulfilling the wishes of sentient beings, making sentient beings happy. Achieving ultimate non-confusion, being far from all erroneous understandings. Wisdom without doubt regarding the three meanings, the three qualities of all meanings. The meaning of the five skandhas in the three times (past, present, future), able to distinguish in a single thought. Attaining Bodhi (enlightenment) in an instant, holding the nature of all Buddhas. The body without a body is the wondrous body, understanding the reality of the body. Appearing in various forms and images, like a wish-fulfilling great jewel banner.
The above is the praise of Ratnasambhava's Mandala, the equality wisdom of one hundred and four names, totaling twenty-four verses.
All Buddhas fully understand, the unsurpassed great Bodhisattva. The great mantra is free from letters, the great mantra has three natures. Giving rise to the meaning of secret mantras, the great dot is free from letters. The great void five-syllable gate, the round dot void hundred syllables. All forms are non-forms, sixteen half-half dots.

【English Translation】 English version Unobstructed and surpassing calculation, abiding in the four dhyanas (meditative states). Penetrating the components of dhyana, knowing the fundamental cause of dhyana. The Samadhi ( समाधि, concentration) body is the most supreme, the enjoyment body is the most victorious. The Nirmanakaya (निर्माणकाय, emanation body) is also like this, holding the transformative nature of the Buddha. Universally present in the ten directions, transforming and liberating all sentient beings. All the gods among gods, the lords of gods and non-gods. The lord and teacher of the long-lived gods, the great自在天 (Mahesvara) who subdues Mara (魔). Transcending the difficulties of the three realms (desire realm, form realm, formless realm), the only teacher of gods and humans. Fame spreads throughout the ten directions, the great benefactor of the Dharma. Using compassion and loving-kindness as firm armor. Holding the sword, bow, and arrows of wisdom, destroying the army of afflictions. Subduing the great evil demons, completely eliminating the four Maras (affliction Mara, Skandha Mara, death Mara, and Deva Mara). Also subduing the various hosts of demons, the perfectly enlightened one saves the world. Worthy of offerings, worthy of praise, worthy of reverence, constantly should be approached. Respectfully able to serve, prostrating to the supreme teacher. One step transcends the three realms (desire realm, form realm, formless realm), universally subduing the realm of space. The three vidyas (clairvoyance regarding previous lives, clairvoyance regarding future lives, and extinction of outflows) are pure and without defilement, the six realms, the six recollections, and so on. Bodhisattva Mahasattva ( महानसत्त्व, great being), supernatural powers surpass the world. Wisdom reaches the other shore, with wisdom realizing the suchness nature. Self-awakening and the awakening of others are both complete, the great Pudgala (पुद्गल, person). Beyond comparison by metaphors, beyond knowing by wisdom. The supreme lord of giving the Dharma, proclaiming the meaning of the four seals. Worthy of respect from humans and gods, guiding the three vehicles (Śrāvakayāna, Pratyekabuddhayāna, Bodhisattvayāna). The pure and supreme meaning, the great sage in the three realms. Complete with all auspiciousness, wonderful virtue, most auspicious.
The above is the praise of the Buddha Mandala of Accomplishing Meaning, accomplishing the ninety-five names of Accomplishing Wisdom, totaling fifteen verses.
I take refuge in the Vajra (वज्र, diamond/thunderbolt) Great Victory Giving, I take refuge in the Suchness (तथता) Actual Principle. I take refuge and prostrate to that which is born from emptiness, I take refuge in the unsurpassed Buddha Bodhi (बोधि, enlightenment). I take refuge and prostrate to that which the Buddha loves, I take refuge and prostrate to that which the Buddha desires. I take refuge and prostrate to that which the Buddha rejoices in, I take refuge and prostrate to that which the Buddha greatly delights in. I take refuge and prostrate to the Buddha's right mindfulness, I take refuge and prostrate to the Buddha's joyful laughter. I take refuge and prostrate to the Buddha's right speech, I take refuge and prostrate to the minds of all Buddhas. I take refuge and prostrate to that which is born from non-birth.

【English Translation】 English version Homage to the Buddhas' birth. Homage to the birth of space, homage to the birth of wisdom. Homage to the supreme net of illusion, homage to the great play of all Buddhas. Homage to all omniscience, homage to the body of perfect wisdom.
The above verses respectively praise the Great Round Mirror Wisdom, the Pure Dharmadhatu Wisdom, the Wonderful Observing Wisdom, the Equality Wisdom, and the Accomplishing Wisdom, each with one verse.
Vajrapani (Dorje Sempa) Vajra-holder Bodhisattva Mahāsattva (Great Being). I now speak of the pure, unique, and supreme name and meaning of this Manjushri (Wenshu) Wisdom Bodhisattva Mahāsattva, which is the true wisdom body of all Tathagatas (Thus Come Ones), the World Honored Ones. You should generate great, unsurpassed joy and pure faith and understanding. For all the secrets of body, speech, and mind that have not yet attained ultimate purity and perfection, and for the accumulations of merit and wisdom of the Paramita (Perfections) doors of the various stages, for those who have not understood the supreme meaning, may they understand; for those who have not attained realization, may they attain it. Even the entire Dharma treasury of all Tathagatas can be embraced. Therefore, I now explain separately, all for the sake of developing ultimate understanding and realization, and for the sake of embracing. Vajrapani Vajra-holder Bodhisattva Mahāsattva, I embrace with the inherent Dharma nature of all secret mantras, in the fundamental nature.

Vajrapani Vajra-holder Bodhisattva Mahāsattva, you should now know that the supreme name and meaning is the pure secret door of body, speech, and mind of all wisdom. It can truly realize the great Samadhi (Concentration) of all Tathagatas' perfect enlightenment. It is good at entering the unsurpassed Dharmadhatu (Realm of Reality) of all Tathagatas. These are the victorious powers that can subdue the power of demons and accomplish the ten powers of the Tathagata. It possesses all wisdom, all kinds of wisdom, and the holy teachings of all Dharmas. It accomplishes the pure and perfect accumulation of merit and wisdom of all Buddhas. It gives birth to all great Bodhisattvas, Sravakas (Hearers), Pratyekabuddhas (Solitary Realizers), the three vehicles of holy seeds. It also enables humans and gods to dwell in the practices of the great vehicle Bodhisattvas. Entering the right holy path, all can attain liberation, and the Buddha seed is not cut off. It can also increase the holy assembly of Bodhisattvas, tame external paths, destroy the four demons, and embrace sentient beings. It is determined to mature and return together to the holy path. Dwelling in Samadhi, practicing the four Brahmaviharas (Divine Abidings). Thus, in Dhyana (Meditation), the mind dwells in one state.
成就瑜伽身語意業。亦能斷除根本煩惱及隨煩惱。即能離系一切結縛。解脫諸蘊息諸散亂。出生資具普濟困苦。關惡趣門開解脫道。不復趣入輪迴生死。轉大法輪建立如來正教法幢旗旛傘蓋。安住如來廣大法教。速疾成就一切菩薩秘密行門。復能覺了勤修三昧一切菩薩。相應般若波羅蜜多了智菩薩空行無二。具足一切波羅蜜藏。圓滿一切清凈佛地。得四真諦聖智現前。一心安住四正念處。乃至圓滿諸佛功德。

Furthermore, one can awaken and diligently cultivate samadhi (三昧,'concentration') in all Bodhisattvas, correspond with Prajnaparamita (般若波羅蜜多,'Perfection of Wisdom'), realize that the emptiness and activity of Bodhisattvas are non-dual, possess all the treasures of the Paramitas (波羅蜜,'perfections'), perfect all pure Buddha-lands, attain the manifestation of the sacred wisdom of the Four Noble Truths (四真諦), single-mindedly abide in the Four Foundations of Mindfulness (四正念處), and even perfect the merits of all Buddhas.

Vajrapani (金剛手,'Holder of the Vajra') Bodhisattva-Mahasattva (菩薩摩訶薩,'Great Bodhisattva'), this most excellent name and meaning can eliminate all evil sins and defilements of body, speech, and mind of all beings, and can also keep one away from all evil realms, and can cut off all karmic obstacles, never again be born in the eight unfavorable conditions, pacify and eliminate the eight fears, break all nightmares and all strange phenomena, eliminate curses, obstacles from demons and goblins, and be free from all demonic entanglements, increase roots of goodness, merits, and benefits, no longer temporarily give rise to irrational intentions, cut off all arrogance, self-grasping, views, etc., not give rise to all sorrow, grief, and suffering, and is also the heart treasury of all Tathagatas, understand the true secret practices of Bodhisattvas, understand the secret practices of Shravakas (聲聞,'Hearers') and Pratyekabuddhas (緣覺,'Solitary Realizers'), the mudra-mantra, understand the true and most excellent meaning of the Dharma, with right mindfulness and right knowledge, generate great wisdom, abide in peaceful conduct, have freedom over form and strength, obtain auspicious, peaceful, pure, and most wonderful events, obtain great fame, with beautiful verses of praise and admiration, and can also eliminate all diseases and great fears. 【English Translation】 English version: The protector causes one to obtain protection. Wishing to seek a kingdom, one obtains a kingdom. Wishing to rely on someone, one finds reliance. For crossing the sea of birth and death, one becomes a boat and raft. Able to remove the suffering of illness, one becomes a great king of medicine. Regarding the laws of acceptance and rejection, one gains discerning wisdom. Also, one becomes the light of wisdom, illuminating and shattering the darkness of evil views and foolish ignorance.
Manjushri Wisdom Bodhisattva Mahasattva, like a wish-fulfilling jewel, benefits all according to their desires, causing all to be fulfilled. He truly knows all-knowing wisdom (sarvajna-jnana), possesses the five eyes (panca-caksuh: the divine eye, the wisdom eye, the dharma eye, the Buddha eye, and the physical eye), cultivates various material offerings and fearless dharma offerings, and the six perfections (paramita: generosity, morality, patience, diligence, concentration, and wisdom). He obtains the four fearlessnesses (catu-vaisaradyani) and abides in the ten grounds (dasabhumi). The great treasury of merit and wisdom, the doors of samadhi (meditative absorption) are all perfected, and he truly knows the nature of dharma as non-dual. He truly knows the differences in appearances, and truly knows the purity of various billions of appearances, because the self-nature of the Tathagata is empty. This most supreme name and meaning, the non-dual dharma meaning, if one upholds, reveals, and manifests it, then it can benefit all sentient beings, causing them to depart from the thick forest of evil views and afflictions.

Vajrapani Vajradhara Bodhisattva Mahasattva, Bhagavan Manjushri Wisdom Bodhisattva Mahasattva, the most supreme and revered body of wisdom of all Tathagatas, the non-dual name and meaning, like a great mani jewel on the crown of the Buddha's head. If good men and good women delight in practicing, relying on this most supreme secret practice, they should remember and contemplate the meaning of the verses three times daily, with the words and phrases complete and correct, upholding, reciting, and reading without any errors, truly knowing the dharma and explaining it to others. Relying on each name, one should contemplate the wisdom body of Manjushri Bodhisattva, abide in the universal gate practice, wholeheartedly believe and accept, and attain a victorious understanding, knowing the most supreme meaning of all dharmas, and attaining unobstructed wisdom. One will be able to fully understand the affairs of the three times (past, present, and future) and beginningless time. Moreover, one will obtain all Buddhas and all Bodhisattvas appearing before them, giving rise to and revealing all dharma doors. All Buddhas and all Bodhisattvas, with body, speech, and mind, truly embrace them in the fundamental nature. All Buddhas and all Bodhisattvas, together bestow blessings, benefit, and embrace them, obtaining fearless eloquence in all dharmas, penetrating all dharmas of the Sravakas, Arhats, and Pratyekabuddhas, and being able to contemplate the self-nature of no-self, subduing all evil great wrath.

【English Translation】 English version: Wrathful King Vajrapani (Wrathful Vajrapani), saves the world and brings great benefit. Manifesting various immeasurable forms, possessing great light and all powers. Able to accomplish all mudras and mantras, directly realizing the Samadhi Mandala Dharma (realizing various samadhis and mandala rituals). All secret mantras and vidya mantras, all great vidyarajas, all demons, Vinayaka (Ganesha), all demonic enemies, Bandhamkara (an obstacle), Aparajita (an auspicious deity), constantly protect day and night. Furthermore, Brahma, Indra (Shakra), Rudra (Shiva), Narayana (Vishnu), Kumara, Mahadeva (another name for Shiva), Kartikeya, Mahakala, Nandikesvara, Yama (King Yama), water deities, fire deities, Vaishravana (King Vaishravana), Hariti (Mother Hariti), and even the gods protecting the ten directions, constantly protect day and night. Whether walking, standing, sitting, or lying down, whether sleeping or awake (whether in meditation or emerging from meditation), they constantly protect at all times. Whether dwelling alone, or in crowded markets, or in royal cities, settlements, villages, alleys, empty houses, crossroads, gates, mountains, forests, rivers, all dwelling places, whether clean or unclean, in places of indulgence, they constantly protect, always attaining peace. Furthermore, devas, nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, mahoragas, humans, non-humans, and all the constellations, the assembly of mothers, the seven mother ghosts, the yaksha women, the pishacha women, all demon mothers, such beings and their retinues, increase lifespan and obtain great auspiciousness.

Vajrapani Bodhisattva Mahasattva (Vajrapani Bodhisattva). If one holds, writes, recites, contemplates, and reflects upon this supreme name and meaning, like a great mani jewel on the Buddha's crown, diligently and without懈怠 three times a day, with focused attention, then Manjushri Bodhisattva Mahasattva (Manjushri Bodhisattva) will be complete with wisdom, body, form, and appearance. By this power, one will soon see the manifested body of the Bodhisattva. Furthermore, one will see all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas dwelling in the sky, manifesting immeasurable forms of various colors. This great sentient being will never fall into all the evil realms. In the future, one will not be born into lowly castes, nor in border regions with incomplete faculties, nor in families with wrong views, nor will one be born in Buddha-less lands. One will be born in Buddha-lands, not abandoning the Dharma, and will never be born.

In life after life, one is far from the difficulties caused by kings, thieves, and enemies. One is not born into poverty or hardship, nor does one hear words of contempt, slander, or abuse. In life after life, one is born into virtuous and noble families, among honorable people. One's appearance is complete, with perfect and dignified features, and one is universally loved and respected in the world. Wherever one is born, people are delighted to see them. One's words are truthful and trusted by others. One attains knowledge of past lives (宿命智, S宿命通宿命智prajñā of past lives), has a large retinue, possesses great wealth that increases without end, and is fully endowed with the highest merits. One is also fully endowed with the Six Paramitas (六波羅蜜, six perfections) and the skillful means, vows, power, wisdom, and intrinsic virtues. One cultivates the Four Brahmaviharas (四梵行, four immeasurables) completely and perfectly, maintains right mindfulness and right knowledge, and has no fear in any discussions. One's speech is clear, one's eloquence is unimpeded, one has no laziness, is content and desires little, and is able to comfort all beings. One is respected like an Acharya (阿阇黎, teacher) or a master, and one serves with skill in crafts, arts, supernatural powers, and wisdom. One fully understands the teachings of external doctrines, whether in text or meaning, that one has never heard before. One's precepts are complete, one's lifespan is long, one's conduct is pure, one is always happy to renounce the world, and one perfects the path to omniscience. One never forgets the great Bodhicitta (大菩提心, the mind of enlightenment) and no longer enters the realms of Śrāvakas (聲聞, hearers), Arhats (羅漢, liberated beings), or Pratyekabuddhas (緣覺, solitary realizers).

Before long, one will attain Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi (阿耨多羅三藐三菩提, unsurpassed perfect enlightenment), abide in the world without entering Parinirvana (般涅槃, complete nirvana), and for the sake of all beings throughout the ten directions, establish the great Dharma banner, beat the great Dharma drum, act as the great Dharma king, and expound the endless and supreme wonderful Dharma. The Buddha is the great guide of the world, leading and showing all to return to the path of liberation, proclaiming the wonderful principle of the net of illusion, all of which is the pure and subtle path. The most supreme, vast, and profound meaning, universally for the world.'

'The Sutra of the Most Excellent and True Meaning of Manjushri Bodhisattva Spoken by the Buddha' Shen Mingren, the abbot of Daci Yin Temple in Guian County, Huzhou Road, and the Zongshe (宗攝) of the Baiyun Sect (白雲宗, White Cloud Sect), on the ninth day of the twelfth month of the second year of Zhida (至大), Haiyin, the Yanqing Si (延慶司, Office of Prolonged Blessings) official and Yanqing Shi (延慶使, Envoy of Prolonged Blessings), especially following the imperial decree of the Crown Prince, sent back Shen Zongshe, who came from the Jiangnan Baiyun Sect to deliver the scriptures, to have the sutra copies of 'The Sutra of the Most Excellent and True Meaning', 'The Buddha Speaks of the White Umbrella Dharani Sutra', and 'The Buddha Speaks of the Vajra Dharani Sutra of Destroying Appearances' properly engraved, printed, and delivered.
