The Root Mudra: Place both hands together in prayer. Bend the two middle fingers into the palms, with the backs of the two segments facing each other. Wherever this mudra is performed, it destroys all demons and harms. The mantra:

If someone wants to avert the calamity of the corpse-transmitting ghost disease, they should know its symptoms. The symptoms are: the patient's body and mind are hot and troubled, gradually becoming thin, or having no appetite, or often sleeping too much, [original text missing] or [original text missing] suffering, there is [original text missing] that cannot be fully described. Moreover, this ghost disease gradually spreads everywhere, so-called infecting husbands, wives, children, and siblings, etc. Therefore, people at that time called it the corpse-transmitting ghost [disease]. The famous doctors in the world cannot cure it.

【English Translation】 English version: When the Buddha's teachings are in decline, the kings, ministers, consorts, palace women, and monks and nuns in the country will be harmed by this [disease]. The most severe symptom is leprosy, the moderate symptom is dying from a contagious disease, and the mild symptom is madness. Therefore, parents, relatives, wives, etc., will distance themselves and sever their kindness and righteousness. This corpse-transmission disease ghost is also called 天魔罹難室陀鬼 (tiān mó luó nán shì tuó guǐ, a demon that causes contagious diseases). The Total Retention Collection Sutra says that the disease caused by this ghost is similar to wind disease and also like a madman. If it is not treated within forty-nine days, death is certain. When treating this disease, recite the previous Great Body Mantra twenty-one times, hold white mustard seeds in the right hand, recite the previous Body Mantra twenty-one times, and scatter them on the patient's head and face. The ghost's body will be shattered, as if burned by fire. 【English Translation】 English version: 'Zha' recited fifty-seven times. Use the above method to first empower the cauterized area with the fundamental mudra. This is for cauterizing the places where ghosts (ghosts, referring to malevolent spirits that cause trouble), 'Dou' (Dou, possibly the name of a certain ghost), and various entities create obstacles and difficulties. If cauterizing the body for 'Dan' (Dan, possibly referring to a certain disease or symptom), recite the mantra (mantra, referring to specific sacred formulas or incantations) each time. Use □ Shen (□ Shen, the text is unclear here) etc. If it is effective, add pre-prepared agarwood, white sandalwood, etc., and place them in a copper vessel. Recite the preceding body mantra thirty-seven times, empower the incense, and then place it in a decoction of 'Rui' grass, willow, and pomegranate. The practitioner should wear clean, new clothes and reside in a quiet room, □□ abstaining from desires, seeking Bodhi (Bodhi, referring to enlightenment) above, and transforming sentient beings below. May they recite the preceding body mantra three times daily. After twenty-one days, circumambulate the sandalwood, reciting the mantra to empower the cauterizing decoction for the patient's use. The practitioner should constantly use the fundamental Peacock King Vidyaraja mudra and mantra to protect themselves, eliminating all obstacles and difficulties caused by ghosts and spirits (eradicating bad dreams, mixed dreams, etc.).

Summoning the Blue Great Vajra Yaksha mudra (Yaksha, a Buddhist guardian deity). The aspects of the four arms: the first left hand □ holds a wish-fulfilling jewel, the first right hand holds a snare □□□ the hand holds a large sword, the second right hand holds a golden wheel, the two upper arms □□□□ with skulls as a necklace, and a tiger skin as a skirt. Also □ the left and right feet each step on a demon, the demon forms under the left and right feet are like corpses. This Great Vajra Yaksha (a type of powerful spirit) is extremely wrathful. The four great Yakshas also □□ retinue, the yellow and red Yakshas both hold large swords, the □ colored black Yaksha holds a three-pronged blade. The toenails of these four great Yakshas □ are all long and sharp like swords. Each head leads eighty thousand □□□ Yaksha retinue, protecting all beings in Jambudvipa (the world we live in).

【English Translation】 English version: After [completing] this Mandala (sacred diagram), during a solar or lunar eclipse, temporarily create a small altar to adorn this Mandala. Prepare food [offerings] according to your ability, and wait for the solar or lunar eclipse to end. Those who [consume] this food [will receive benefits]. If someone practices [this method], [they will] obtain six [supernatural powers] and will no longer have birth and death. [To] clarify the purpose of this altar, thirteen [items] are needed: 1. Food; 2. Four clean mirrors; 3. Four large knives; 4. Four arrows; 5. Five-colored thread. These are the royal palace's offerings. Next, the Homa (fire ritual) offerings are prepared according to the ordinary offering rituals.

[For] pacifying disasters, gaining love and respect, obtaining official positions, blessings, subjugation, and all other [desires], to achieve them one by one, and to quickly attain enlightenment, therefore, in the degenerate age, foolish people [should] take refuge in this Dharma. The monks who translate the scriptures deeply conceal [this teaching] and do not transmit it; only after the Abhiseka (initiation) of the Mahavairocana (Great Sun) Vajra (Diamond) realm can this text be transmitted. But [open][Some words] knowledge finger [Some words][Some words][Some words] the secret within the secret. Do not [easily] transmit it to others again.

[Some words] language three ghost forms: First, the human ghost, like a corpse [generally][set][Some words] form. Second, the celestial ghost, taking the form of an owl. This is the celestial fox [Some words][Some words][Some words]. Third, the earth ghost, taking the form of an earth fox, also called epilepsy ghost. [Some words] dwells a great courageous mind. Reciting the Acala (Immovable) Vidyaraja (Wisdom King) Fire Realm mantra one hundred [times][Some words] boiling the three ghost images, one will enter the Acala Fire-born Samadhi (meditative absorption), constantly abiding in this [state]. 【English Translation】 English version: …If the observer views what is seen as ghosts or demons, these two types of illnesses require deep observation, relying on the power of practice and the power of mantras to be cured. If it is karmic illness, one should strive deeply within and externally repent to be cured. If various treatments do not truly understand their essence, they should not be easily attempted. The Shenqiu 'Longevity Sutra' says that drum-ju in the eyes will cause dimness, in the mouth it will cause bad breath and tooth loss, drum-zhi in the abdomen will damage people's...organs, leading to qi deficiency...avoiding people's likes and dislikes, daring to eat the drum of sentient beings...in the feet...disturbing the five essences, causing them to move restlessly...the spirit will be harmed...Geng...Shen the Heavenly Emperor records people's sins, cuts off people's lives, wanting people to die quickly, the soul enters the Three Springs...At this time, ghosts will bring disasters to people, causing heart pain and convulsions...Ghost sickness will be passed on to descendants and siblings, etc....called corpse transmission [病-丙+猒] butterfly, and will also reconnect bones...This disease can even lead to the death of the entire clan, but the cause cannot be found.
