如是我聞。一時薄伽梵。住安樂世界。與大菩薩眾。所謂觀自在菩薩。得大勢菩薩。除一切蓋障菩薩。地藏菩薩。普光菩薩。虛空藏菩薩。金剛手菩薩除一切怖畏菩薩。持一切清凈吉祥菩薩。持一切福相菩薩。持日月三世菩薩。文殊師利菩薩。如是等菩薩摩訶薩而為上首。爾時觀自在菩薩摩訶薩。往詣世尊所頭面禮足退坐一面。時大吉祥天女亦往詣佛所頭面禮足。圍繞。無量百千匝及禮一切安樂世界所住菩薩退坐一面。

爾時世尊見吉祥天女。有無量百千福莊嚴。俱胝如來圍繞。一切釋梵護世讚揚稱歎。以大梵音告觀自在菩薩摩訶薩言。觀自在菩薩若有國王王子比丘比丘尼優婆塞優婆夷婆羅門剎利毗舍首陀。若受持大吉祥天女十二契一百八名無垢讚歎。其王剎利國界所有眾生。一切怖畏逼惱並皆消除。一切怨賊人非人怖亦不為害。一切財谷皆悉豐饒。吉祥天女于彼王剎利宅中常所居止。時彼菩薩摩訶薩說如是言。善哉善哉世尊妙說

【English Translation】 English version The Sutra of the Great Auspicious Goddess's One Hundred and Eight Names and Twelve Vows of Immaculate Mahayana

Translated by the Tripiṭaka Master Amoghavajra of Daxingshan Temple, holding the title of Grand General of the Left Guard, Acting Minister of the Court of Imperial Sacrifices, Duke Su of the State, with a fief of three thousand households, bestowed with purple robes, posthumously awarded the title of Minister of Works, with the posthumous title of Dajian, and the honorary title of Greatly Wise, under imperial decree.

Thus have I heard: At one time, the Bhagavan (Blessed One) resided in the World of Bliss, together with a great assembly of Bodhisattvas, namely Avalokiteśvara (the Bodhisattva of Compassion), Mahāsthāmaprāpta (the Bodhisattva of Great Strength), Sarvanivāraṇaviṣkambhin (the Bodhisattva Who Removes All Obstacles), Kṣitigarbha (the Earth Store Bodhisattva), Samantaprabha (the Universal Light Bodhisattva), Ākāśagarbha (the Space Treasury Bodhisattva), Vajrapāṇi (the Vajra-Handed Bodhisattva), the Bodhisattva Who Removes All Fears, the Bodhisattva Who Holds All Pure Auspiciousness, the Bodhisattva Who Holds All Blessed Appearances, the Bodhisattva Who Holds the Three Worlds of the Sun and Moon, Mañjuśrī (the Bodhisattva of Wisdom), and other such Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas as their leaders. At that time, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva Avalokiteśvara went to where the World-Honored One was, bowed his head to the ground at the Buddha's feet, and withdrew to sit on one side. At that time, the Great Auspicious Goddess (Mahāśrī) also went to where the Buddha was, bowed her head to the ground at the Buddha's feet, circumambulated the Buddha countless hundreds of thousands of times, and paid homage to all the Bodhisattvas residing in the World of Bliss, then withdrew to sit on one side.

At that time, the World-Honored One, seeing the Great Auspicious Goddess adorned with countless hundreds of thousands of blessings, surrounded by kotis (ten millions) of Tathagatas, praised and extolled by all the Śakra (Indra) and Brahmā (Great Brahma) protectors of the world, spoke in a great Brahma-like voice to the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva Avalokiteśvara, saying: 'Avalokiteśvara, if there are kings, princes, bhikṣus, bhikṣuṇīs, upāsakas, upāsikās, Brahmins, kṣatriyas, vaiśyas, śūdras, who uphold the Great Auspicious Goddess's One Hundred and Eight Names and Twelve Vows of Immaculate Praise, then all beings within the kingdom of that king and kṣatriya will have all fears and oppressions eliminated, and will not be harmed by any enemies, humans, or non-humans. All wealth and grains will be abundant. The Auspicious Goddess will always reside in the homes of that king and kṣatriya.' At that time, that Bodhisattva-Mahasattva said: 'Excellent! Excellent! World-Honored One, wonderfully spoken!'

此語。若有持吉祥天女名號。彼獲如是福利。時無畏觀自在菩薩摩訶薩。即白佛言世尊。吉祥天女曾於何處種植善根。佛言彼于恒河沙如來應供正遍知處。種植善根。無畏觀自在菩薩我念過去世。于寶生世界。寶花功德海吠琉璃金山金光明吉祥如來應供正遍知。出興於世。大吉祥天女于彼種植善根。及余多如來所。由稱如是如來名號。此大吉祥天女作成就善根。此諸如來常隨逐大吉祥天女。能脫一切罪。除滅一切煩惱。令一切身作無垢。召集增益一切財谷。能除貧窮。能攝召一切天龍藥叉羅剎乾闥婆阿修羅迦樓羅緊那羅摩睺羅伽。能息一切逼惱諍訟鬥戰。能成辦六波羅蜜所謂。

【English Translation】 English version: Thus I have heard. If there are those who uphold the name of Śrī Mahādevī (Auspicious Goddess), they will obtain such benefits. At that time, the fearless Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva Mahāsattva then said to the Buddha: 'World Honored One, where did Śrī Mahādevī plant roots of virtue?' The Buddha said: 'She planted roots of virtue in the presence of Tathāgata Arhat Samyaksaṃbuddhas (Thus Come One, Worthy One, Rightly and Completely Awakened One) as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River.' Fearless Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva, I recall in a past life, in the Ratnasambhava world (Jewel-Born World), the Tathāgata Arhat Samyaksaṃbuddha named Precious Flower Merit Sea Lapis Lazuli Golden Mountain Golden Light Auspicious One appeared in the world. The great Śrī Mahādevī planted roots of virtue there, as well as in the presence of many other Tathāgatas. By reciting the names of these Tathāgatas, this great Śrī Mahādevī accomplishes roots of virtue. All the Thus Come Ones bestow a prophecy upon the Great Auspicious Goddess, saying: 'You shall attain perfect enlightenment in the Auspicious Jewel Adorned World, and your name shall be Auspicious Mani Jewel Born Thus Come One, Worthy of Offerings, Perfectly and Completely Enlightened.' That world is adorned with various celestial treasures. In that world, only this Thus Come One serves as the light. The assembly of Bodhisattvas in that Buddha-world possesses natural light and immeasurable lifespans. The sounds of the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha emanate from the sky. All Bodhisattvas born in that Buddha-world are born from lotus pedestals. How can one praise the immaculate praise of the twelve agreements and one hundred and eight names? Fearless Avalokiteśvara, listen carefully now. What is said is: All Thus Come Ones Consecrate (1) All Thus Come Ones' Mother (2) One (All Thus Come Ones Consecrate) All Thus Come Ones Consecrate. (All Thus Come Ones' Mother) Mother of all Thus Come Ones.

【English Translation】 English version: Lokṣmī (Lakshmi, Goddess of Fortune) prraśamani svāhā (svāhā, accomplishment). Sarva-tathāgata (all Tathagatas) abhiṣeka-taye svāhā. Sarva-nirmita (all manifestations) prramukha-śrīye svāhā. Āyu (life) mā (do not) maraṇa (death) karaye svāhā. Sarva-pavitra (all pure) maṃsara-hastaye svāhā. Saṃjiva (living) hṛdaye (in the heart) svāhā. Pāda-sambhavāya svāhā. Sarva-kṛtya (all actions) kāku hṛd-vidāśini (destroyer of the heart) ye svāhā. The fearless Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva.
