大興善寺三藏沙門不空奉 詔譯

如是我聞。一時佛在舍衛國祇樹給孤獨園。與大阿羅漢千二百五十人俱。復有無量大菩薩眾。彌勒菩薩。曼殊室利菩薩。觀世音菩薩。而為上首。及摩利支等諸天。龍八部前後圍繞。爾時舍利弗即從座起。偏袒右肩右膝著地。合掌向佛。而白佛言。世尊于未來世。末世眾生作何等法得脫諸難。

佛告舍利弗。諦聽諦聽。我今為汝說於此事。爾時會眾歡喜踴躍。重勸請佛。

爾時世尊告諸比丘。日前有天。名摩利支。有大神通自在之法。常行日前。日不見彼。彼能見日。無人能見。無人能知。無人能捉。無人能害。無人欺誑。無人能縛。無人能債其財物。無人能罰。不畏怨家能得其便。

佛告諸比丘。若有人知彼摩利支天名者。彼人亦不可見亦不可知。亦不可捉亦不可害。亦不為人欺誑亦不為人縛。亦不為人債其財物。亦不為人責罰。亦不為怨家能得其便。

佛告諸比丘。若善男子善女人知彼摩利支天名者。應作是言。我弟子某甲知彼摩利支天名故。無人能見我。無人能知我。無人能捉我。無人能害我。無

人能欺誑我。無人能縛我。無人能債我財物。無人能責罰我。亦不為怨家能得我便。此咒有大神力。所作成就。破一切惡。若用結界百由旬內一切諸惡無敢入者。爾時世尊即說咒曰。

王難中護我。賊難中護我。行路中護我。失於道路曠野中護我。晝日護我。夜中護我。水難中護我。火難中護我。羅剎難中護我。茶枳你鬼難中護我。毒藥難中護我。佛實語護我。法實語護我。僧實語護我。天實語護我。仙人實語護我。

奉請摩利支天咒。一名摩利支天身咒。咒曰。

娜謨啰跢那(二合)跢啰(二合)夜耶(一)摩唎支唎馱(去音)耶(二)摩婆(上)帝移沙(上)彌(三)跢侄他(四)婆(上)啰(去)梨(五)婆馱梨(六)婆啰呵目溪

【現代漢語翻譯】 現代漢語譯本 人能欺騙我,卻無人能束縛我。無人能奪取我的財物,也無人能責罰我。即使是怨家也無法加害於我。此咒具有強大的神力,能成就一切,破除一切邪惡。如果用此咒結界,百由旬(古代印度長度單位)之內,一切邪惡都不敢進入。當時,世尊(釋迦牟尼佛的尊稱)便說了這個咒語: 『南無佛陀耶(皈依佛)(1),南無達摩耶(皈依法)(2),南無僧伽耶(皈依僧)(3),怛侄他(即說咒曰)(4),遏啰迦末斯(5),摩啰迦末斯(6),蘇途末斯(7),支缽啰末斯(8),摩訶支缽啰末斯(9),摩利支夜末斯(光明母)(10),安怛陀那夜末斯(11),那謨粹都底(12),莎訶(咒語結尾,表示圓滿)(13)。』 王難中保護我,賊難中保護我,行路中保護我,迷失道路在曠野中保護我,白天保護我,夜晚保護我,水難中保護我,火難中保護我,羅剎(惡鬼)難中保護我,茶枳你鬼(食人女鬼)難中保護我,毒藥難中保護我,佛的真實語保護我,法的真實語保護我,僧的真實語保護我,天的真實語保護我,仙人的真實語保護我。 『怛侄他(1),阿羅拘隸(2),阿啰拘隸(3),雞栗底(4),薩婆迦啰醯蔽(5),薩蒲跛突瑟䶩(6),薩婆伊都波達羅鞞蔽(7),啰叉啰叉(唸誦者自己的名字)(8),莎呵(9)。』 奉請摩利支天(光明母)的咒語,又名摩利支天身咒。咒語如下: 『娜謨啰跢那(皈依)(1) 跢啰夜耶(三寶)(2),摩唎支唎馱耶(摩利支天)(3),摩婆帝移沙彌(4),跢侄他(5),婆啰梨(6),婆馱梨(7),婆啰呵目溪(8)。』

【English Translation】 English version People may deceive me, but no one can bind me. No one can seize my possessions, nor can anyone punish me. Even enemies cannot take advantage of me. This mantra possesses great divine power, accomplishing all things and destroying all evil. If used to create a boundary, all evils within a hundred yojanas (ancient Indian unit of distance) will not dare to enter. At that time, the World Honored One (尊稱,referring to Shakyamuni Buddha) then spoke this mantra: 『Namo Buddhaya (Homage to the Buddha) (1), Namo Dharmaya (Homage to the Dharma) (2), Namo Sanghaya (Homage to the Sangha) (3), Tadyatha (Thus it is) (4), Arakamasi (5), Marakamasi (6), Sutramasi (7), Chiparamasi (8), Maha Chiparamasi (9), Marichiye Masi (Mother of Light) (10), Antardhanayemasi (11), Namo Stuti (12), Svaha (Mantra ending, meaning 'so be it') (13).』 Protect me from royal troubles, protect me from thief troubles, protect me on the road, protect me when lost on the road in the wilderness, protect me during the day, protect me at night, protect me from water disasters, protect me from fire disasters, protect me from Rakshasa (惡鬼) troubles, protect me from Dakini (食人女鬼) troubles, protect me from poison troubles, the Buddha's true words protect me, the Dharma's true words protect me, the Sangha's true words protect me, the Deva's (天神) true words protect me, the Immortal's true words protect me. 『Tadyatha (1), Aro Kule (2), Ara Kule (3), Kiriti (4), Sarva Karahe Bhyo (5), Sarva Upadrave Bhyo (6), Sarva Itupadrave Bhyo (7), Raksha Raksha (the reciter's own name) (8), Svaha (9).』 The mantra for invoking Marichi (光明母), also known as the Marichi Body Mantra. The mantra is as follows: 『Namo Ratna (Homage to the Jewel) (1) Trayaya (Three Jewels) (2), Marichiye (To Marichi) (3), Mabhavati Ishami (4), Tadyatha (5), Bhara Li (6), Bhadali (7), Varaha Mukhi (8).』


(七)薩婆(上)徒瑟誓(去二合八)槃(上)馱槃(上)馱(九)娑婆呵(十)

佛告諸比丘。若有人識彼摩利支天菩薩者。除一切障難王難賊難。猛獸毒蟲之難。水火等難。若人慾行此法者。一切法中此法最勝。持此咒者面向百逾阇那。一切鬼神惡人無能得其便者。若於難中行時。晨起誦前身咒。咒一掬水。四方散灑及灑自身。若衣襟若衣袂若袈裟角。一咒一結總作三結。即往難中行連誦前二大咒而行。所有一切事難軍防主者悉皆迷醉。都無覺知之者。

佛說是經已。告諸比丘比丘尼。優婆塞優婆夷。國王大臣及諸人民等。聞佛說是摩利支天陀羅尼。一心受持之者。是人不為一切諸惡所害。諸比丘若有人。能書寫讀誦受持之者。若著髻中。若著衣中。隨身而行。一切諸惡悉皆退散無敢當者。是諸四眾天龍八部禮佛而退。歡喜奉行。

佛告訴各位比丘:如果有人認識那位摩利支天菩薩(光明之神),就能消除一切障礙、王難、賊難、猛獸毒蟲之難以及水火等災難。如果有人想修持這個法門,在一切法門中,此法最為殊勝。持誦此咒的人,面向百逾阇那(古印度長度單位),一切鬼神惡人都無法加害於他。如果在危難中行走時,早晨起來誦持前身咒,咒語加持一掬水,向四方散灑並灑在自身,在衣襟、衣袖或袈裟角上,每咒一遍打一個結,總共打三個結,然後前往危難之處,連續誦持前面兩個大咒而行。所有一切事難、軍防主事者都會被迷惑,完全沒有知覺。

佛說完這部經后,告訴各位比丘、比丘尼、優婆塞(男居士)、優婆夷(女居士)、國王、大臣以及各位人民等:聽聞佛所說的這部摩利支天陀羅尼(光明之神的咒語),一心受持的人,不會被一切諸惡所傷害。各位比丘,如果有人能夠書寫、讀誦、受持這部經,或者將經文放在髮髻中,或者放在衣服中,隨身攜帶,一切諸惡都會退散,沒有誰敢阻擋。在場的比丘、比丘尼、優婆塞、優婆夷、天龍八部(佛教中的八類護法神)都向佛禮拜後退下,歡喜地奉行。

【English Translation】 English version: (7) Sa-po (up) Tu-se-shi (departing two combined eight) Pan (up) Tuo-pan (up) Tuo (9) Suo-po-he (10)

The Buddha told the Bhikshus: If someone recognizes that Marici Deva Bodhisattva (Goddess of Light), they can eliminate all obstacles, difficulties from kings, difficulties from thieves, difficulties from fierce beasts and poisonous insects, and difficulties from water and fire, etc. If someone wants to practice this Dharma, among all Dharmas, this Dharma is the most supreme. The one who holds this mantra, facing a hundred Yojanas (ancient Indian unit of distance), all ghosts, spirits, and evil people will not be able to harm them. If walking in difficulties, in the morning, recite the mantra of the previous body, consecrate a handful of water with the mantra, sprinkle it in the four directions and on oneself, and on the collar, sleeves, or corner of the Kasaya (monk's robe), tie a knot with each recitation, making a total of three knots. Then go to the place of difficulty, continuously reciting the previous two great mantras while walking. All difficulties, military defenses, and those in charge will be bewildered and completely unaware.

After the Buddha finished speaking this Sutra, he told the Bhikshus, Bhikshunis, Upasakas (male lay practitioners), Upasikas (female lay practitioners), kings, ministers, and all people: Those who hear the Marici Deva Dharani (Goddess of Light's mantra) spoken by the Buddha and wholeheartedly receive and uphold it will not be harmed by all evils. Bhikshus, if someone can write, read, recite, and uphold this Sutra, whether wearing it in their hair knot or in their clothes, carrying it with them, all evils will retreat and scatter, and no one will dare to oppose them. All the four assemblies, Devas, Nagas, and the Eight Classes of beings (eight types of protective deities in Buddhism) bowed to the Buddha and retreated, joyfully practicing.
