如是我聞。一時佛在舍衛國祇樹給孤獨園。與大菩薩眾俱。是時有大夜叉主名曰寶賢。來詣佛所。到已頭面禮足。合掌恭敬而白佛言。世尊我有大秘密心陀羅尼樂欲宣說。唯愿世尊加哀覆護。世尊此陀羅尼。若有比丘比丘尼優婆塞優婆夷等。一日三時至心誦唸者。我為彼人常作依怙。於一切事皆得吉祥。乃至飲食衣服臥具金銀珍寶財谷等我常供給。及作一切勝利悉使成就。亦令一切人眾普得愛敬。唯除淫怒癡等惡不善法。余諸所作悉皆隨意。

爾時世尊知此寶賢大夜叉主誠心信重。為欲安樂一切眾生貧苦惱故。而告之言。善哉寶賢大夜叉主。能為利益諸眾生故。我亦樂聞隨意宣說。時寶賢大夜叉主。即說陀羅尼。曰。

如是我聞。一時，佛在舍衛國祇樹給孤獨園。與大菩薩眾在一起。當時，有一位名叫寶賢的大夜叉主（Yaksa chief, 夜叉的首領），來到佛的住所。到達后，他以頭面禮拜佛足，合掌恭敬地對佛說：『世尊，我有一個大秘密心陀羅尼，很樂意宣說。唯愿世尊慈悲加哀覆護。世尊，這個陀羅尼，若有比丘（bhiksu, 佛教出家男眾）、比丘尼（bhiksuni, 佛教出家女眾）、優婆塞（upasaka, 在家男居士）、優婆夷（upasika, 在家女居士）等，一日三次至誠懇切地誦唸，我將作為他們的常時依怙。對於一切事情都能得到吉祥，乃至飲食、衣服、臥具、金銀珍寶、財谷等，我常會供給他們，並使他們所作的一切勝利都能成就，也令一切人眾普遍得到愛戴和尊敬。唯獨除了淫慾、嗔怒、愚癡等惡不善法，其餘一切所作都能如意。』

當時，世尊知道這位寶賢大夜叉主誠心信重，爲了安樂一切受貧困之苦的眾生，便告訴他說：『善哉，寶賢大夜叉主。能爲了利益諸眾生的緣故，我也樂意聽聞，隨你宣說。』當時，寶賢大夜叉主，即說陀羅尼，說：

The Sutra of the Jewel Worthy Dharani Spoken by the Buddha

Translated by the Tripitaka Master Fa Xian of the Mingjiao Monastery, Grand Master of Court Service, Acting Vice President of the Court of Imperial Sacrifices, by Imperial Order, from the Western Regions

Thus have I heard. At one time, the Buddha was in the Jeta Grove of Anathapindika's Park in Shravasti, together with a great assembly of Bodhisattvas. At that time, there was a great Yaksha chief (Yaksa chief, leader of the Yaksas) named Jewel Worthy, who came to the Buddha's abode. Upon arriving, he bowed at the Buddha's feet with his head and face, and with palms joined respectfully, said to the Buddha: 'World Honored One, I have a great secret heart Dharani that I would like to proclaim. I only wish that the World Honored One would mercifully protect and watch over me. World Honored One, if there are bhikshus (bhiksu, Buddhist monks), bhikshunis (bhiksuni, Buddhist nuns), upasakas (upasaka, lay male devotees), upasikas (upasika, lay female devotees), etc., who recite this Dharani sincerely three times a day, I will always be their refuge. In all matters, they will obtain auspiciousness, and I will constantly provide them with food, clothing, bedding, gold, silver, jewels, treasures, grains, and so on. I will also ensure that all their endeavors are successful, and that all people universally love and respect them. Except for evil and unwholesome dharmas such as lust, anger, and delusion, all other undertakings will be as they wish.'

At that time, the World Honored One, knowing that this great Yaksha chief Jewel Worthy was sincere and faithful, and wishing to bring peace and happiness to all sentient beings suffering from poverty, said to him: 'Excellent, great Yaksha chief Jewel Worthy. Because you are able to benefit all sentient beings, I am also happy to listen. Proclaim it as you wish.' At that time, the great Yaksha chief Jewel Worthy, then spoke the Dharani, saying:

Namo ratna-trayaya (1) Namo mani-bhadraya (2) Maha-yaksha-senapataye (3) Sadyedidam (4) Hiri mani-bhadra (5) Hiri hiri mani-bhadra (6) Kiri mani-bhadra (7) Kiri kiri mani-bhadra

At that time, the great Yaksha chief Bao Xian (meaning 'Yaksha King who protects wealth and brings good fortune'), after reciting this Dharani, said to the Buddha: 'World Honored One, if someone recites this Dharani seven times according to the Dharma, all the undertakings of this person will be successful. Furthermore, if someone on the fifteenth day of the white month (meaning 'the first half of the lunar month'), maintains cleanliness of body and mind and observes the precepts, burns incense of agarwood and sandalwood three times a day, and recites this Dharani eight thousand times,'

。是人隨愿獲得金銀珍寶悉皆如意。爾時大夜叉主。說是陀羅尼已禮佛而退。

佛說是經已。諸菩薩眾聞佛所說。皆大歡喜信受奉行。

佛說寶賢陀羅尼經

【現代漢語翻譯】現代漢語譯本：這個人會如願以償地獲得金銀珍寶，一切都稱心如意。當時，大夜叉主（Yaksa chief）說完這個陀羅尼（dharani，總持、真言），禮拜佛陀後退下了。

佛陀說完這部經后，所有的菩薩（Bodhisattva，覺有情）大眾聽聞佛陀所說，都非常歡喜，信受奉行。

【English Translation】 English version: This person will obtain gold, silver, and precious jewels according to their wishes, and everything will be as they desire. At that time, the great Yaksa chief, having spoken this dharani (dharani, a type of mantra or incantation), bowed to the Buddha and withdrew.

After the Buddha finished speaking this sutra, all the Bodhisattvas (Bodhisattva, an enlightened being) present, hearing what the Buddha had said, were greatly rejoiced, believed, accepted, and practiced it accordingly.
