玄宗皇帝開元初。對東兵之夜。于兵側離宮之次。於時玄宗將一行和尚相隨。一行忽作法。下諸星辰所管之鬼。悉集。被敕法所錄教治。皆得所以案問。諸星辰二十八宿神。具通所管行病鬼。總三十鬼。日夜常遊人間。依于衰者即得醉飽。于正王之家無由得其飲食。於時錄奏玄宗。唯陛下一人受之。此法后玄宗幸蜀。有人于高力士家傳得本。至今天下牢過之。萬金不傳。如得之日。分明依法祭之。方不失一。通遺之道莫過於此矣。副憂婆鬼王。收禁二十八宿從者諸行病鬼法。夫欲知人間疾患。皆由二十八宿管行病之所為。此法一一通於神通。名為西國七曜別行法。七曜即管二十八宿。二十八宿即管諸行病鬼王。先須記得七曜日。即咒愿曰。

In the early years of Emperor Xuanzong's Kaiyuan era, on the night of campaigning against the Eastern troops, in the detached palace next to the army, Emperor Xuanzong was accompanied by the monk Yi Xing. Yi Xing suddenly performed a ritual, summoning the ghosts under the jurisdiction of the various stars, and they all gathered. By imperial decree, they were recorded by the ritual and taught governance, and the reasons for their actions were investigated. The various stars and the twenty-eight constellations (twenty-eight constellations in Chinese astronomy) all detailed the wandering-sickness ghosts under their jurisdiction, totaling thirty ghosts, who roamed the human world day and night, and could obtain their fill of food and drink by attaching themselves to the weak. They could not obtain food and drink in the homes of legitimate kings. At that time, it was recorded and reported to Emperor Xuanzong that only Your Majesty would be affected by these ghosts. Later, when Emperor Xuanzong went to Shu, someone copied this book from the home of Gao Lishi. To this day, the world guards it closely, and it is not passed on even for ten thousand gold pieces. If you obtain this book, you must clearly perform the sacrifices according to the law, so that there will be no mistakes. There is no better way to understand the way of inheritance than this. The 'Fuyoupo Ghost King' collects and imprisons the followers of the twenty-eight constellations and the various wandering-sickness ghosts. If you want to know about human diseases, they are all caused by the wandering-sickness ghosts under the jurisdiction of the twenty-eight constellations. This method thoroughly connects with supernatural powers and is called the 'Separate Practices for the Seven Luminaries' from the Western Lands. The Seven Luminaries (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn) govern the twenty-eight constellations, and the twenty-eight constellations govern the various wandering-sickness ghost kings. First, you must remember the days of the Seven Luminaries, and then recite the mantra, saying:
今日是密日等二十八宿當。角星等直日。火急為厶乙收禁其鬼。皆須限當日令差。如違時不可。即以鐵釘上下釘其手足。如欲知二十八宿日。但撿前十二月。是何月。得腳下日。即皆從十五日前後。依宿次第數之。此排宿定更無失錯。十五前數之。即十四十三。十六日後數之。即十七十八九。其中有三十個鬼。兩宿是文星辰星。即二十八宿中。不列此兩宿。定名但向日排之。著二十八宿。即是。其文宿辰宿兩星。所遊行無其定止。所以不定列名。解者讀尋自會其鬼所畫時。一一皆須如法。不得見其點畫裝彩。皆須如法酒脯紙錢。一依向二十八宿腳下次第。賢者過之諸深秘之。萬金不傳。此乃通遺次道。切須保重藏之篋笥。莫遣小人得之。天道不許漏泄。此道精驗世無逾於此法也 副憂婆鬼王領諸鬼眾。常游世間造作眾生。多有疾患人壽百歲。經被此十二人同一甲。若福強者得壽經終滿百年。命弱者即皆被此摸所躓而死之。無其數限可哀也 爾時大梵天王並諸星宿諸神等。我諸眾生等令知善惡。今當與喚鬼王。應是其間疾之者與我姓名。鬼王對行病鬼總三十人遊行無定住。常在人間衢路。凡人莫能 併合二十八宿之所收管。但記得病日及祭病之時說。即須書取其鬼直日形。並書其姓令宿直王收禁。其患人則當日須差。並

【English Translation】 English version Today is the day when the twenty-eight constellations, such as Mi Ri, are on duty, and the stars such as Jiao Xing are on duty. It is imperative to urgently confine the ghosts collected by Si Yi, and they must all be completed on the same day without delay. If the time limit is violated, nail the hands and feet of the ghosts up and down with iron nails. If you want to know the date of the twenty-eight constellations, just check the twelfth month of the previous year to see which day is the 'foot day', and then count them in order according to the order of the constellations around the fifteenth day of that month. This method of arranging constellations will never be wrong. Counting before the fifteenth day is the fourteenth and thirteenth days; counting after the sixteenth day is the seventeenth, eighteenth, and nineteenth days. Among them, there are thirty ghosts, and two constellations are Wen Xing (literary star) and Chen Xing (time star) (referring to constellation names), so these two constellations are not included in the twenty-eight constellations. To determine the name, just arrange it according to the date, corresponding to the twenty-eight constellations. The two stars, Wen Su (literary constellation) and Chen Su (time constellation), do not have a fixed position, so they are not listed with fixed names. Those who understand will naturally understand the time when the ghosts appear by reading and searching. Every detail must be done according to the Dharma, and there must be no negligence in the dots and colors. Wine, meat, and paper money must be prepared according to the rules, and sacrifices must be made in accordance with the order of the twenty-eight constellations. Sages should cherish this especially, and do not pass it on even for ten thousand gold. This is the way to Yi Ci Dao (possibly referring to a certain practice method or realm), and it must be properly kept in a box, and do not let villains get it. Heaven does not allow leakage. This method is very effective, and there is no more effective method in the world than this. Deputy You Po Ghost King (name of a ghost king) leads many ghosts, often wandering in the world, creating diseases for sentient beings. People's lifespan can originally reach one hundred years, but if they are affected by these twelve people (referring to a certain group or force) in the same Jia (possibly referring to a certain time or state), if people with deep blessings can live to their natural years, people with short lifespans will be stumbled to death by them, and the number is unlimited, which is really sad. At this time, the Great Brahma King (name of a Buddhist deity) and all the stars and gods, in order to let us sentient beings know good and evil, are now going to call the Ghost King. Anyone who suffers from illness should tell me their name. The Ghost King leads thirty disease-causing ghosts, who have no fixed abode and often wander on the roads of the human world, which ordinary people cannot know. Combine the above with the scope governed by the twenty-eight constellations, as long as you remember the day of illness and the time of sacrifice for the illness, you must write down the shape of the ghost on duty that day, and write their surname, so that the star on duty king can confine them, then the sick person will recover on the same day.
依此復行用法。則無不差者。但是病皆須記所得日。一依此法禁之。其書百年之間永不敢更到門戶矣。

昴星直日 其鬼名黑林尼 此日是此鬼行病。忽于路側打人。倒令失音不語。當畫此鬼形書其名。于病人家中點燈一盞。以清酒一盞白脯一疊。祭之於昴宿。其患人當日得語。更不須別求神祇。當祭之日皆言患人姓名于昴宿。再拜更不得著別言語。其宿自知。必與收禁其鬼也。

畢星直日 其鬼名多知蔡 是此鬼行病。令人心中悶熱如火。煩亂轉動不得忘前失后。是此鬼所為。須煎紙錢五十貫。以清酒白脯。取日午正南時祭。必須道患人姓名。須七遍上酒。但拜畢宿莫別言語。其患人當日差。如忽有黃衣善人來相遇。必不令入門切須禁止。依前畫鬼形釘之吉。

畢星（Bì Xīng，星宿名）當值的日子，那鬼的名字叫多知蔡（Duō Zhī Cài）。是這個鬼出來散佈疾病，使人心煩悶熱如火，煩躁不安，轉動不得，忘前失后，都是這個鬼所為。需要燒五十貫紙錢，用清酒白肉乾，在中午正南方向祭祀。必須說出病人的姓名，需要上酒七遍，只拜畢宿（Bì Xiù，畢星宿），不要說其他言語，病人當天就好。如果忽然有黃衣善人來相遇，一定不要讓他進門，務必禁止。依照先前的方法畫鬼形釘住它就吉利。
參宿（Shēn Xiù，星宿名）當值的日子，那鬼的名字叫伏應參星（Fú Yìng Shēn Xīng）。這一天是這個鬼出來散佈疾病，使人忽然噁心，嘔吐不止，或者忽冷忽熱，都是這個鬼所為。用清凈的酒和白肉乾，如法祭祀參宿（Shēn Xiù，參星宿），說出病人的姓名，只拜參宿（Shēn Xiù，參星宿），行酒九回就停止。寫下鬼的形狀來禁絕它，病人就會好。之後那個鬼更不敢到人家門前。應當祭祀這個星宿，之後如果有僧尼來...
【English Translation】 If you use this method again, it will surely be effective. However, for all illnesses, you must remember the day the illness started and completely prohibit it according to this method. In this way, those ghosts will not dare to come to your door for a hundred years.
When the Mǎo Xīng (Pleiades, a constellation) is on duty, the name of the ghost is Hēi Lín Ní. This day is when this ghost spreads disease. It will suddenly attack people on the roadside, causing them to fall and lose their voice, unable to speak. You should draw the shape of this ghost, write its name, light a lamp in the patient's home, and offer a cup of clear wine and a stack of white dried meat to the Mǎo Xiù (Pleiades constellation). The patient will be able to speak that day, and there is no need to seek other gods or Buddhas. On the day of the sacrifice, you must say the patient's name and bow to the Mǎo Xiù (Pleiades constellation). Do not say any other words. The Mǎo Xiù (Pleiades constellation) will naturally know and will surely restrain that ghost.
When the Bì Xīng (Hyades, a constellation) is on duty, the name of the ghost is Duō Zhī Cài. This ghost spreads disease, causing people to feel hot and bothered like fire, restless, unable to move, forgetful, all caused by this ghost. You need to burn fifty strings of paper money, use clear wine and white dried meat, and sacrifice at noon facing due south. You must say the patient's name and offer wine seven times. Only bow to the Bì Xiù (Hyades constellation) and do not say any other words. The patient will recover that day. If you suddenly encounter a kind person in yellow robes, be sure not to let them enter the door, and be sure to prohibit them. It is auspicious to draw the shape of the ghost and nail it down as before.
When the Shēn Xiù (Orion, a constellation) is on duty, the name of the ghost is Fú Yìng Shēn Xīng. This day is when this ghost spreads disease, causing people to suddenly feel nauseous, vomit non-stop, or have alternating chills and fever, all caused by this ghost. Use pure wine and white dried meat to sacrifice to the Shēn Xiù (Orion constellation) according to the proper method. Say the patient's name, only bow to the Shēn Xiù (Orion constellation), and stop after offering wine nine times. Write down the shape of the ghost to prohibit it, and the patient will recover. After that, the ghost will not dare to come to people's doors again. You should sacrifice to this constellation, and if monks or nuns come afterwards...

You must pay attention and be mindful, prohibit (witchcraft), and cut off (the shaman). Remember it in your heart again and again, and do not forget it even for a moment.
When the Liu Star (Willow constellation) is on duty, its ghost is named Asheguo (阿舍國). This day is the day this ghost inflicts illness, causing people to suddenly speak and suddenly not speak, like a person who has lost their mind. This is what this ghost does. If you believe (in witchcraft), the patient will surely die within a year. This ghost belongs to the Liu Star. Remember the day of the illness, and you should use clear wine and dried meat to properly sacrifice to the Liu Star. There will be a response on the same day. When offering the sacrifice, you must not see your wife and children. After one day of separation after the sacrifice, you can see each other. This ghost will never dare to come to the door, allowing the patient to extend their life and live to be a hundred years old, avoiding premature death, and never having disasters or epidemics in their life.
When the Xing Star (Star constellation) is on duty, the ghost is named Wansongshi (萬松石). This day is the day this ghost inflicts illness, causing people to be unable to walk, or to have alternating chills and fever. This is what this ghost does. It belongs to the Xing Star. Use one hundred strings of paper money and clear wine. When sacrificing, walk around the sun, pouring wine seven times until it is full. Do not let people in white clothes come, and even if they come, do not let them sit down. Also, do not let this person know the method of sacrifice. The person who comes is the one the ghost has found to replace the patient's life. You must know this.
When the Zhang Star (Extended Net constellation) is on duty, the ghost is named Yungongqi (云公其). This day is the day this ghost inflicts illness, often liking to cause trouble for the young boys and girls of families, causing people to have chills or fever, or incessant watery diarrhea. This is what this ghost does. On the day of the illness, use forty strings of paper money, clear wine, and dried meat, and set up a sacrifice at noon. Light a lamp in the house. Recite the mantra saying: 'The names of the young boys and girls.' Just saying it will make them better on the same day. If an adult gets sick on this day, do not offer a sacrifice, and they will naturally get better in three days.
