如是我聞。一時佛住雞羅莎山。在山頂上諸天住處。去諸賢聖不遠。與大眾俱前後圍繞。大比丘足滿五百。又有五百諸大菩薩俱。其名曰彌勒菩薩。虛空藏菩薩。普賢菩薩。無盡華菩薩。文殊師利菩薩。與五百菩薩摩訶薩等皆一生補處。

爾時世尊觀於四方。去其住處不遠。觀見林中有一比丘。為惡鬼所持口出種種惡言。其林中又有一比丘。露其身形而舉兩手。口出種種異音。或復呼天乍復喚地。爾時虛空藏菩薩摩訶薩。聞其聲已承佛神力。整理衣服右膝著地。合掌向佛白佛言。世尊此二比丘。何意唱如是聲。或舉于兩手復出惡言音。於是世尊告虛空藏菩薩摩訶薩言。此一比丘為惡病所持出是音聲。又一比丘為惡鬼所持露形而走。

爾時虛空藏菩薩摩訶薩。白佛言世尊。為治眾生一切病故。為除一切惡鬼障難不起故。唯愿世尊為一切眾生。說陀羅尼咒。

爾時世尊現威神力。于虛空中即現六佛。時釋迦牟尼佛即騰虛空依次而坐。是時大眾悉皆觀見七佛世尊。

這時,世尊觀察四方,離他所住的地方不遠,看見林中有一位比丘,被惡鬼所控制,口中說出種種惡言。那林中又有一位比丘,裸露著身體,舉起兩手,口中發出種種奇怪的聲音,有時呼天,有時喚地。這時,虛空藏菩薩摩訶薩,聽到這些聲音后,憑藉佛的神力,整理衣服,右膝著地,合掌向佛,稟告佛說:『世尊,這兩位比丘,是什麼緣故發出這樣的聲音?或者舉起兩手,又說出惡言?』於是世尊告訴虛空藏菩薩摩訶薩說:『這位比丘是被惡病所纏繞,所以發出這樣的聲音。又一位比丘是被惡鬼所控制,所以裸露身體而奔走。』

這時,虛空藏菩薩摩訶薩,稟告佛說:『世尊,爲了醫治眾生的一切疾病,爲了消除一切惡鬼的障礙和災難,不起這些事故,唯愿世尊為一切眾生,宣說陀羅尼咒。』

這時,世尊顯現威神力,在虛空中立即顯現六佛。這時釋迦牟尼佛(Śākyamuni Buddha)也騰到虛空中,依次而坐。這時大眾都看見了七佛世尊。

Thus have I heard. At one time, the Buddha was dwelling on Mount Kukkuṭapāda Giri (mountain name), at the abode of the gods on the mountain peak, not far from the various sages. He was with a great assembly, surrounded before and behind. There were five hundred fully ordained great Bhikṣus, and also five hundred great Bodhisattvas, whose names were: Maitreya Bodhisattva, Ākāśagarbha Bodhisattva, Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, Akshayamati Bodhisattva, Mañjuśrī Bodhisattva, and five hundred Bodhisattva-mahāsattvas, all of whom were ekajātipratibaddha (bound by only one more birth before attaining Buddhahood).

At that time, the World-Honored One observed the four directions. Not far from where he was dwelling, he saw a Bhikṣu in the forest, possessed by an evil spirit, uttering various evil words from his mouth. In that forest, there was also a Bhikṣu, exposing his body and raising both hands, uttering various strange sounds from his mouth, sometimes calling to the heavens, sometimes calling to the earth. At that time, Ākāśagarbha Bodhisattva-mahāsattva, having heard these sounds, relying on the Buddha's divine power, arranged his robes, knelt on his right knee, joined his palms towards the Buddha, and said to the Buddha: 'World-Honored One, what is the reason for these two Bhikṣus making such sounds? Or raising both hands, and uttering evil words?' Thereupon, the World-Honored One said to Ākāśagarbha Bodhisattva-mahāsattva: 'This Bhikṣu is afflicted by an evil disease, so he utters these sounds. And the other Bhikṣu is possessed by an evil spirit, so he exposes his body and runs about.'

At that time, Ākāśagarbha Bodhisattva-mahāsattva, said to the Buddha: 'World-Honored One, for the sake of curing all the diseases of sentient beings, for the sake of removing all the obstacles and difficulties caused by evil spirits, so that these incidents do not arise, may the World-Honored One, for the sake of all sentient beings, speak the Dhāraṇī mantra.'

At that time, the World-Honored One manifested his majestic spiritual power, and immediately manifested six Buddhas in the empty sky. At that time, Śākyamuni Buddha also rose into the empty sky and sat in order. At that time, the assembly all saw the Seven Buddhas, the World-Honored Ones.

一切眾生故。為除一切惡鬼障難故。說大威德陀羅尼咒。而說咒曰。

爾時毗婆尸佛。告虛空藏菩薩摩訶薩言。若有善男子善女人受持此咒者。若讀若誦。若復有人推覓此咒者。若樂聽聞者。是人不為一切刀仗所害。不為一切水溺。不為一切苦患所持。不受一切橫死。若復有人與持此咒人毒藥者。其藥變成美食不著於人。若復有人若飲若食。先咒作七遍然後而食。食已是諸蠱道惡口眾邪。皆悉自滅不能為害。若受持是咒者。令人壽命延長。所有習誦一聞領悟終不忘失。晝夜恒見佛像。若復有人為惡鬼所打不得差者。而於此人耳邊。咒之七遍即時除愈。若有人患團風白癬及以癲病。取蘇曼青水香蓮華茴香細辛。各以等分取胡麻油煎之。摩其患處即得除愈。一切所有病者。用此咒咒之無不獲差。

爾時尸棄佛在於空中。欲為一切眾生除一切病故。欲除一切惡鬼障難故。而說咒曰。

南無佛陀耶 南無達摩耶 南無僧伽耶 南無尸棄禰多陀伽多耶 阿羅訶提三藐三佛陀 唵 波遮波遮 波遮波耶 薩婆浮多南嗔陀吉羅耶 波邏

【English Translation】 English version: For the sake of all sentient beings, to remove all obstacles and difficulties caused by evil spirits, the Great Power Dharani Mantra is spoken. The mantra is as follows: Namo Buddhaya (Homage to the Buddha), Namo Dharmaya (Homage to the Dharma), Namo Sanghaya (Homage to the Sangha), Namo Vipasyin (Vipasyin, one of the past seven Buddhas) Tathagataya (Thus Come One), Arahat Samyak Sambuddhaya (Arhat Perfectly Enlightened One), Om, Hara Hara, Hili Hilaya, Namo Kili Kilaya, Yudga Vicana Ya, Namo Namo Svaha. If someone gives poison to the person who holds this mantra, the poison will turn into delicious food and will not harm the person. If someone, whether drinking or eating, first recites this mantra seven times and then eats, after eating, those Gu practices, evil speech, and various evils will all disappear by themselves and cannot cause harm. If one upholds this mantra, it can prolong one's life, and everything learned and recited can be understood upon hearing it, and will never be forgotten throughout one's life, and one can see the Buddha's image day and night. If someone is beaten by an evil spirit and cannot recover, recite this mantra seven times in this person's ear, and they will be cured immediately. If someone suffers from Tuan wind, white ringworm, or epilepsy, take Suman (Suman, flower name), Qing Shui Xiang Lotus (blue lotus), fennel, and Asarum, each in equal parts, and fry them in sesame oil. Apply it to the affected area, and it will be cured. For all diseases, use this mantra to bless them, and none will not be cured.' At that time, Sikhin Buddha (Sikhin, one of the past seven Buddhas) was in the air, in order to eliminate all diseases for all sentient beings, and to eliminate all obstacles and difficulties caused by evil spirits, he spoke the mantra as follows: Namo Buddhaya (Homage to the Buddha), Namo Dharmaya (Homage to the Dharma), Namo Sanghaya (Homage to the Sangha), Namo Sikhin Tathagataya (Sikhin Thus Come One), Arahat Samyak Sambuddhaya (Arhat Perfectly Enlightened One), Om, Pacha Pacha, Pacha Paya, Sarva Bhuta Nam Chinda Kilaya, Pala.


毗陀南 娑波呵

爾時尸棄佛告虛空藏菩薩摩訶薩言。我此神咒百千那由他無數億諸佛所說我今說之。為一切眾生故。除一切病故。除一切諸惡鬼障難故。除一切惡夢故。除一切橫病死故。又告虛空藏菩薩摩訶薩言。若有善男子善女人。若晝誦此咒三遍夜誦三遍。或復心念一切蠱毒。厭禱咒詛惡口赤舌。眾耶魍魎皆不得近。昏夜警中恒見諸佛。所有食啖之物即自消化而充氣力。其人若命終已。昏夜所見佛者皆來迎其精神恒相隨逐。若復有人依此咒法作功能者。於一切病須結咒索。若有人困病時。取蘇曼木取油煎之。摩其身體皆得除愈。若有眾生晝夜恐怖。取凈水咒之灑著四方。作咒索系其身上。一切魍魎不得其便。若有小兒被惡鬼所打。用碧綖作咒索。繫著頸下即得除愈。若復有人被惡鬼所打。于耳邊咒作七遍亦得除愈。隨心所欲造者無不得成。

爾時毗舍浮佛在虛空中。欲為一切眾生除一切病故。除一切諸惡鬼故。障難不起故。而說咒曰。

南無佛陀耶 南無達摩耶 南無僧伽耶 南無毗舍浮多他竭多耶 阿羅訶提三藐三佛陀耶 唵 伽邏伽邏伽邏伽邏 拘樓拘樓拘樓拘樓 拘盧蹉跎喃 拘樓薩婆伽呵喃 娑波呵

爾時毗舍浮佛說此咒已。告虛空藏菩薩摩訶薩言。如此神咒賢劫千佛中過去

At that time, Śikhin Buddha (Śikhin Buddha) said to Ākāśagarbha Bodhisattva Mahāsattva (Ākāśagarbha Bodhisattva Mahāsattva): 'This divine mantra of mine has been spoken by hundreds of thousands of nayutas (nayuta), countless billions of Buddhas, and I will speak it now. It is for the sake of all sentient beings, for the sake of eliminating all diseases, for the sake of eliminating all evil ghosts' obstacles and difficulties, for the sake of eliminating all nightmares, and for the sake of eliminating all untimely deaths.' He further said to Ākāśagarbha Bodhisattva Mahāsattva: 'If there are good men and good women who recite this mantra three times during the day and three times during the night, or if they recite it silently in their minds, all poisons, curses, incantations, evil mouths, and red tongues, and all kinds of goblins and sprites will not be able to approach them. In the dark night or during vigilant moments, they will often see all the Buddhas. All the food and drink they consume will be digested on their own and transformed into energy. If this person dies, the Buddhas seen in the dark night will come to welcome his spirit and constantly accompany him. If someone practices according to this mantra, when treating all diseases, it is necessary to tie a mantra cord. If someone is troubled by illness, take sumāṇa wood (sumāṇa wood), fry it in oil, and apply it to their body, and they will be cured. If there are sentient beings who are terrified day and night, take pure water, chant over it, sprinkle it in all directions, and tie a mantra cord on their body, and all sprites will not be able to take advantage of them. If a child is beaten by an evil ghost, use a green thread (bì yán) to make a mantra cord and tie it around their neck, and they will be cured. If someone is beaten by an evil ghost, chant seven times near their ear, and they will also be cured. Whatever you desire to create, there is nothing that will not be accomplished.'

At that time, Viśvabhū Buddha (Viśvabhū Buddha) was in the sky, for the sake of eliminating all diseases for all sentient beings, for the sake of eliminating all evil ghosts, and for the sake of preventing obstacles and difficulties from arising, and spoke the mantra:

Namo Buddhāya (Namo Buddhāya), Namo Dharmāya (Namo Dharmāya), Namo Saṃghāya (Namo Saṃghāya), Namo Viśvabhū tathāgatāya (Namo Viśvabhū tathāgatāya), arhate samyaksaṃbuddhāya (arhate samyaksaṃbuddhāya). 佛已說此咒。現在佛今說。未來佛當說。又告虛空藏菩薩言。汝當受持此咒。若未來世復有眾生。受持咒者若讀若誦。若復有人推覓此咒。不為刀杖怖畏一切蠱毒。一切熱病一切水溺。不受橫死不被惡病。如是等悉得除卻。唯宿殃不除耳。若有比丘比丘尼優婆塞優婆夷。晨起澡浴並洗頭面。在於佛前誦此咒一百八遍。一切諸惡不加其身。一切疾病自然除愈。壽命延長一切財寶自然富足。一切身中障難不善之事皆各銷除。一切怨家自然和解。一切厭禱皆不著身。澡浴誦咒因緣得如此福。若有人于險難怖畏之處。能憶念此咒皆得離於恐怖。若復有人斗諍。為縣官口舌。以白綖結咒索。咒之一百八遍系其右臂上。若有人眼痛者。以桔皮結咒索系其耳上。若他方有賊欲來侵境者。用酥酪蜜胡麻等分和之。在佛像前用銅𨥌卷一𨥌咒之一遍擲著火中至一千八遍。是諸怨賊無問遠近自然退散。若復有人慾求長命者。當用酪蜜炒粳米為華。三種等分和之。在於佛前以銅𨥌卷之一𨥌咒之一遍擲著火中至一千八遍。然後乃止。又復有人。欲為自身及為他人。一切怖畏一切諸罪欲得除滅者欲求一切富貴財寶者。欲除身中障難令得清凈者。若復有人慾誦持此咒。一切怖畏障難悉自除滅所作成就。又復依一切咒法者。亦得成就。若有一切怨家不得

The Buddha further told Akasagarbha Bodhisattva (Bodhisattva representing infinite space): 'You should uphold this mantra. If in the future there are sentient beings who uphold this mantra, whether they read or recite it. If someone seeks this mantra, they will not be frightened by swords or staffs, nor fear any poisons, any feverish diseases, or drowning. They will not suffer accidental death or be afflicted by evil diseases. All such calamities will be removed, except for karmic retribution from past lives.' 'If there are bhiksus (male monastic), bhiksunis (female monastic), upasakas (male lay devotees), or upasikas (female lay devotees) who, upon rising in the morning, bathe and wash their faces and heads, and recite this mantra one hundred and eight times before the Buddha, all evils will not harm their bodies, all diseases will naturally be cured, their lifespan will be extended, all wealth and treasures will naturally be abundant, all obstacles and unwholesome things in their bodies will be eliminated, all enemies will naturally reconcile, and all curses will not attach to their bodies. The cause and condition of bathing and reciting the mantra will bring such blessings.' 'If someone is in a dangerous and fearful place and can remember this mantra, they will be able to escape from fear. If someone is in a dispute or has legal troubles, they should tie a white silk thread into a mantra cord, chant the mantra one hundred and eight times, and tie it on their right arm. If someone has eye pain, they should tie a mantra cord made of tangerine peel around their ear. If in the future there are people who uphold this mantra, and who sincerely respect and believe in the Three Jewels (Buddha, Dharma, Sangha), bathe with fragrant water, put on new and clean clothes, offer incense and flowers to the Buddha image, kneel with the right knee on the ground with palms together in front of the image, and recite the mantra one hundred and eight times, they will know their past lives in seven hundred lifetimes. If they wish to be born in the heavens as the king of the gods, or if they are born among humans, they will become a Chakravartin King (Wheel-Turning King). If they can uphold it daily, when they die, they will be reborn in the Land of Immeasurable Life (Sukhavati, the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss) and will not be born among humans again. If people recite this mantra day and night, all unexpected illnesses will not afflict their bodies. If you want to eat, you should first chant the mantra seven times, and then eat, and all diseases in your body will naturally be eliminated and healed. If someone has heavy karmic burdens from the three obstacles (affliction obstacle, karma obstacle, retribution obstacle) in the past, they can eliminate them by reciting this mantra three times daily.

If someone is sick themselves or someone else is sick and they wish to cure them, they should clean the house, apply fragrant mud to the floor, hang silken banners and canopies, set up a high seat, and arrange a Buddha image. The sick person should bathe in fragrant water, burn incense such as agarwood and frankincense, and offer various vegetarian foods to the Buddha, doing as much as they can. The sick person should stand before the image, recite the sick person's name, and chant the mantra, and they will be cured. If all kinds of ghosts and spirits possess someone, bathing the body with fragrant water blessed with this mantra will cause them to disappear on their own.

If someone has skin conditions such as tinea corporis, tinea versicolor, or leprosy, take one sheng (unit of volume) of ground Acorus calamus root, mix it with white honey, chant the mantra over it one thousand and eight times before the Buddha image, and take a fangcunbi (small spoon) of it every morning before eating, and they will be cured. All other chronic and old illnesses will also be cured.

If someone suffers from alternating chills and fever, occurring every four days, three days, two days, or one day, take various flowers to make a garland, chant the mantra over it one thousand and eight times before the Buddha image, and place it on the sick person's head, and they will be cured. If someone is beaten by an evil ghost and cannot speak, chant the mantra quietly one hundred and eight times near the sick person's ear, and they will be cured.

【English Translation】 English version: Om, hala hala hala hala, haha haha, Namo Kashyapaya (Kashyapa, one of the seven Buddhas of the past), Tathagataya (Tathagata, Thus Gone One), Arhate (Arhat, worthy one), Samyaksambuddhaya (Samyaksambuddha, perfectly enlightened one), Sitantu, mantra-pada (mantra phrase), Svaha (Svaha, accomplishment).

At that time, Kashyapa Buddha told the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Akasagarbha (Akasagarbha Bodhisattva Mahasattva): 'This mantra of mine is spoken by Buddhas as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River. I have now spoken it. You should now receive, uphold, recite, and remember it day and night, and do not forget it. In the future, if there are good men and good women who receive and uphold this mantra, reciting it three times a day, according to their ability, that person will see the Buddhas in the darkness of night or in a state of alertness. If they receive this warning, all heavy sins will naturally be extinguished. If someone commits the five rebellious acts and does not believe in the Mahayana, such heavy sins cannot be saved, and all undertakings will be difficult to accomplish. After reciting this mantra, all can be accomplished. For all tinea capitis, vitiligo, leprosy, etc., take flowers from the Buddha image, chant this mantra one thousand and eight times before the image, grind them into powder, mix with cold water, and apply to the affected area, and it will be cured. It is also good to mix with cold water and drink it. If someone has a headache, take flowers from the Buddha image, chant this mantra one thousand and eight times before the image, grind them into powder, mix with cold water, divide into three portions, and apply to the head. After it dries, apply again, and after applying three times in this way, it will be cured. If a woman has a difficult childbirth, take flowers from the Buddha image, grind them into powder, and fry them with ghee. 【English Translation】 English version: At that time, Shakyamuni Buddha (Shijia Muni Fo) was in the empty sky. Wishing to remove all the illnesses of sentient beings and to eliminate all evil ghosts, obstacles, and difficulties, He spoke the following mantra: Namo Buddhaya, Namo Dharmaya, Namo Sanghaya, Namo Shakyamuniye, Tathagataya, Arhate Samyak-saṃbuddhāya. 【English Translation】 English version: Now I will speak of this. If someone is afflicted by evil spirits, it is necessary to tie a cursed cord, chanting the mantra one thousand and eight times. Take Suman wood (a type of tree), ghee (clarified butter), and mustard seeds, mix them in equal parts. In front of the patient, take a pinch with three fingers, chanting the mantra once and throwing it into the fire. Repeat this one thousand and eight times, and the illness will be cured.

If someone is frightened and wants to create a boundary, they should take a knife and chant the mantra one thousand and eight times, placing it at the door. If someone is creating a boundary in the air, fearing that various evil spirits will seek an opportunity, they should take water and chant the mantra seven times, using it to sprinkle in all directions. If one feels fear within oneself, tie a cursed cord to protect oneself. If someone has been poisoned, take Kulu grass, empower it with a mantra, and the patient will be cured. If someone suffers from wind disease, chant the mantra over sesame oil one thousand and eight times, applying it to the affected area to be cured. If someone suffers from ear pain, take green sandalwood and fry it in oil, using it to drip into the ear to be cured.
