西天北印度烏填曩國帝釋宮寺三藏傳法大師賜紫沙門臣施護奉 詔譯
如是我聞。一時佛在殑伽河邊。與大眾俱及於護世四大天王多聞天王最為上首。
爾時世尊告四王言。有大怖畏深可厭患。汝等應知若男若女童男童女若人若天。我觀中夭生大怖畏。恒時擾惱各不相救。乃至老死甚大怖畏。而無窮盡。吾今為汝說救護法。即時會中四大天王。而白佛言世尊。我等今日於世尊前。聞此說已踴躍歡喜。以身命財奉于如來。愿佛哀愍為我演說。
爾時世尊一彈指間。面東而住說如是言南無十方。一切如來無上正等正覺。廣大慈悲憐愍有情。彼皆證得阿耨多羅三藐三菩提。惟愿慈悲同共觀察。著我有情與力加護。息除中夭敷演解說。如是東西南北乃至上下。一切如來唱如是言。南無一切如來無上正等正覺。不捨慈悲而為眾生。證得阿耨多羅三藐三菩提。惟愿慈悲同共觀察著我有情敷演解說。
爾時諸佛同共證明。我今宣說救護怖畏息除難法。如是乃至第二法輪演說之時。此會眾中皆獲壽命色相具足。悉得離於生死怖畏而無中夭。乃至老病亦復如是

如是我聞。一時,佛在殑伽河(Ganga River,恒河)邊,與大眾在一起,還有護世四大天王,其中以多聞天王為首。
這時,世尊告訴四大天王說:『有一種巨大的恐怖,非常令人厭惡。你們應當知道,無論是男人、女人、童男、童女,無論是人還是天,我看到中夭(dying young)都感到非常恐懼。這種中夭的威脅經常擾亂他們,使他們無法互相救助,乃至老死,都是極大的恐怖,而且無窮無盡。我現在為你們說一種救護之法。』當時,法會中的四大天王對佛說:『世尊,我們今天在世尊面前,聽到這樣的說法,都感到非常歡喜,願意以身命和財物奉獻給如來。愿佛慈悲,為我們詳細演說。』
這時,世尊在一彈指間,面向東方而住,說了這樣的話:『南無十方(Homage to the ten directions),一切如來無上正等正覺(perfectly enlightened Buddhas),以廣大的慈悲憐憫有情眾生,他們都證得了阿耨多羅三藐三菩提(Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi,無上正等正覺)。惟愿以慈悲之心共同觀察,加持保護執著於我的有情眾生,息除中夭,詳細敷演解說。』像這樣,東西南北乃至上下,一切如來都這樣唱言:『南無一切如來無上正等正覺,不捨棄慈悲而爲了眾生,證得阿耨多羅三藐三菩提。惟愿以慈悲之心共同觀察執著於我的有情眾生,詳細敷演解說。』
這時,諸佛共同證明,我現在宣說救護怖畏、息除災難的方法。像這樣,乃至第二次法輪演說之時,此法會中的眾生都獲得了壽命,色相具足,都能夠遠離生死怖畏,沒有中夭,乃至老病也是這樣。
【English Translation】 English version 《The Dharani Sutra for Eliminating Premature Death》
Translated by the Tripitaka Dharma Master Shihu, a Shramana bestowed with the Purple Robe, from the Dishi Palace Temple in Udyana, Northern India, under Imperial Decree
Thus have I heard. At one time, the Buddha was on the bank of the Ganga River (殑伽河), together with a great assembly, including the Four Guardian Kings, with Vaishravana (多聞天王) as their leader.
At that time, the World-Honored One said to the Four Kings: 'There is a great fear, deeply detestable. You should know that whether it be men, women, boys, girls, humans, or devas, I see great fear in premature death (中夭). It constantly disturbs them, preventing them from helping each other, even until old age and death, which are immense fears, and endless. I will now speak to you of a method of rescue.' At that moment, the Four Great Kings in the assembly said to the Buddha: 'World-Honored One, today, before the World-Honored One, having heard this teaching, we are overjoyed and offer our lives and wealth to the Tathagata. May the Buddha have compassion and explain it in detail for us.'
At that time, the World-Honored One, in the snap of a finger, faced eastward and spoke these words: 'Namo (南無, Homage to) the Buddhas of the ten directions, the unsurpassed, perfectly enlightened ones (一切如來無上正等正覺), with great compassion for sentient beings, all of whom have attained Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi (阿耨多羅三藐三菩提, unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment). May they, with compassion, observe together, and empower and protect sentient beings attached to self, eliminate premature death, and expound and explain in detail.' In this way, east, west, north, south, and even above and below, all the Tathagatas proclaimed: 'Namo to all the Tathagatas, the unsurpassed, perfectly enlightened ones, who do not abandon compassion for the sake of sentient beings, and attain Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi. May they, with compassion, observe together sentient beings attached to self, and expound and explain in detail.'
At that time, all the Buddhas jointly affirmed that I now proclaim the method of rescuing from fear and eliminating calamities. Thus, even at the time of the second turning of the Dharma wheel, the beings in this assembly all obtained longevity, possessed complete physical characteristics, and were able to be free from the fear of birth and death, without premature death, and even old age and sickness were also like this.

爾時十方一切諸佛。照見一一世界如來形像。如胡麻量遍滿一切。又彼十方一一如來。同共發聲乃說咒曰。

爾時東方持國天王。即于佛前乃說咒曰。

At that time, all the Buddhas of the ten directions illuminated each and every world, revealing the Tathagata's (如來) images, as tiny as sesame seeds yet pervading everywhere. Simultaneously, each of the Tathagatas in the ten directions, together voicing, then spoke the mantra:
'Tadyatha (tadyathā) Zali Zala Zali (2) Viśuddhe Svasti Ke (3) Krtya Rane (4) Praśamantu (5) Sarva Sige (6) Anakune (7) Zale Zale (8) Kime Sayam (9) Nime Nisaya (10) Nihi Me Sithi (11) Kyaro Viye (12) Hiku Rale (13) Kumati (14) Visama Nimani (15) Sisu Heva (16) Acali Vicali (17) Ma Vilamba (18) Muhu Muhu (19) Svaha (svāhā) (20)'
At that time, all the Tathagatas of the ten directions, having spoken this secret divine mantra, said thus: 'All the unsurpassed, perfectly enlightened Buddhas equally speak this mantra.'
At that time, the Northern Heavenly King Vaiśravaṇa (多聞天王, one of the Four Heavenly Kings, guardian of the North) reported to the Buddha, saying: 'World Honored One, I now hear the majestic and divine power of the Tathagatas of the ten directions, bestowing blessings and protection, capable of averting premature death and dispelling fear. Therefore, before the Buddha, I speak this mantra:'
'Tadyatha (tadyathā) Svete (2) Svete (3) Riri Riri (4)'
At that time, the Eastern Heavenly King Dhṛtarāṣṭra (持國天王, one of the Four Heavenly Kings, guardian of the East) then spoke the mantra before the Buddha:
'Cari Cari Svaha (svāhā)'
At that time, the Southern Heavenly King Virūḍhaka (增長天王, one of the Four Heavenly Kings, guardian of the South) spoke the mantra before the Buddha:
'Vari'

爾時世尊告四天王言。今此神咒是一切佛證明觀察。若有族姓男女等輩。晝夜受持志誠憶念。必獲長命而無中夭。命終之後不墮惡趣。若復有人利益有情。發誠諦心受持讀誦。臨命終時無諸怖畏。亦無變怪及諸惡相。于現在世又無白癩顛狂諸病。及離水火刀兵疾疫蟲藥等毒。乃至雷雹一切諸難皆悉遠離。若是經典所在之處。十方諸佛及眾菩薩悉皆來集。擁護是經令無障難。若復有人於此經典。書寫莊嚴護凈轉讀。如造佛像種種嚴飾。所獲功德而無有異。若復有人供養諸佛精心離慢。獲吉祥福息除災難。若有受持書寫此經恒離懈怠。所獲功德亦復如是。一切聖賢常恒擁護離諸災患。爾時世尊說是經已。四大天王龍神八部阿蘇啰等。及諸人天一切大眾。聞法歡喜信受奉行。

這時,西方的廣目天王(Virupaksha,四大天王之一,守護西方)侍立在佛前,也說了咒語:

這時,世尊告訴四大天王說:『現在這個神咒是一切諸佛所證明和觀察的。如果有善男信女等,日夜受持,至誠憶念,必定獲得長壽而不會中途夭折。命終之後不會墮入惡趣。如果又有人利益有情眾生,發起真誠的心受持讀誦,臨命終時沒有各種怖畏,也沒有變怪和各種惡相。在現在世又沒有白癩、顛狂等各種疾病,並且遠離水、火、刀兵、疾疫、蟲藥等毒,乃至雷雹一切災難都全部遠離。如果是經典所在之處,十方諸佛以及眾菩薩都全部來集會,擁護這部經典,使它沒有障礙和困難。如果又有人對於這部經典,書寫、莊嚴、護持清凈、轉讀,如同建造佛像,用各種物品來嚴飾,所獲得的功德沒有什麼不同。如果又有人供養諸佛,精心離慢,獲得吉祥的福報,息除災難。如果有人受持、書寫這部經典,恒常遠離懈怠,所獲得的功德也是這樣。一切聖賢常常擁護,遠離各種災患。』這時,世尊說完這部經后,四大天王、龍神八部、阿蘇啰(Asura,意為非天)等,以及諸人天一切大眾,聽聞佛法,歡喜信受,奉行。
息除中夭陀羅尼經
【English Translation】 English version Vā Vā Vā Vā
At that time, Virupaksha (the Guardian King of the West), standing in attendance before the Buddha, also spoke this mantra:
Ma(pronounced with a departing tone and elongated) Deng Ni Ni Su Ma(elongated) Su Mu Su Mu
At that time, the World-Honored One told the Four Heavenly Kings: 'This divine mantra is certified and observed by all Buddhas. If there are men and women of good families who uphold it day and night, sincerely remembering it, they will surely obtain long life and will not die prematurely. After the end of their lives, they will not fall into evil realms. If there are those who benefit sentient beings, sincerely receiving, upholding, and reciting it, they will have no fears at the time of death, nor will there be any strange occurrences or evil omens. In their present lives, they will be free from diseases such as vitiligo and madness, and will be far from dangers such as water, fire, weapons, epidemics, insect poisons, and even hail and all kinds of difficulties. Wherever this scripture is located, all Buddhas of the ten directions and all Bodhisattvas will gather to protect this scripture, ensuring that there are no obstacles or difficulties. If there are those who write, adorn, protect, purify, and recite this scripture, it is like creating a Buddha image with various adornments; the merits obtained are no different. If there are those who make offerings to all Buddhas with diligence and without arrogance, they will obtain auspicious blessings and eliminate disasters. If there are those who uphold and write this scripture, constantly avoiding laziness, the merits obtained will be the same. All sages and virtuous beings will constantly protect them, keeping them away from all calamities.' At that time, after the World-Honored One finished speaking this scripture, the Four Heavenly Kings, the Dragon Gods and the Eight Classes of beings, the Asuras (demi-gods or titans), and all the great assembly of humans and gods, hearing the Dharma, rejoiced, believed, and practiced it respectfully.
