如是我聞。一時薄伽梵在王舍城鷲峰山頂。與大苾芻眾千二百五十人俱。菩薩摩訶薩萬二千人俱。皆是賢劫大菩薩眾。爾時世尊於此眾中。告慈氏菩薩摩訶薩曰。今現在十方諸佛如來勝妙吉祥名號。若有善男子善女人。於此如來名號。憶念受持一心恭敬。所有業障報障破戒重罪悉皆除滅。勝妙善根真實功德。勸請隨喜迴向發願一切功德。永不退轉菩提之心。我今欲說汝應諦聽。

南無南方無垢月幢旗王如來

爾時世尊復告慈氏菩薩。東方去此過十不可說百千億數微塵佛土。有佛世界名妙真珠。彼國有佛。號曰虛空功德目凈無垢光德相蓮花焰琉璃色寶體香上妙供養以眾妙彩而為嚴飾頂上肉髻妙相無邊日月光明

如是我聞。一時,薄伽梵(Bhagavan,世尊)在王舍城鷲峰山頂,與一千二百五十位大苾芻(bhiksu,比丘)眾,以及一萬二千位菩薩摩訶薩(bodhisattva-mahāsattva,大菩薩)眾在一起。他們都是賢劫的大菩薩眾。當時,世尊在這大眾中,告訴慈氏菩薩摩訶薩(Maitreya bodhisattva-mahāsattva,彌勒大菩薩)說:『現在十方諸佛如來殊勝美妙吉祥的名號,若有善男子、善女人,對於這些如來的名號,憶念受持,一心恭敬,所有業障、報障、破戒重罪,都能夠消除滅盡。殊勝美妙的善根、真實功德,勸請、隨喜、迴向、發願一切功德,永遠不退轉菩提之心。我現在想要宣說,你應該仔細聽。』

當時,世尊又告訴慈氏菩薩:『從東方越過十個不可說百千億數微塵佛土,有一個佛世界名為妙真珠。那個國家有一尊佛,名號為虛空功德目凈無垢光德相蓮花焰琉璃色寶體香,以眾妙彩作為莊嚴,頂上的肉髻有美妙的相,無邊的日月光明。
【English Translation】 English version The Sutra of the Buddha's Discourse on the Divine Incantation Praising the Merits of the Tathagatas
Translated under Imperial Order by the Tang Dynasty Tripitaka Master Yijing
Thus have I heard. At one time, the Bhagavan (Bhagavan, World-Honored One) was at the summit of Mount Gridhrakuta in Rajagriha, together with a gathering of one thousand two hundred and fifty great bhikshus (bhiksu, monks), and a gathering of twelve thousand bodhisattva-mahāsattvas (bodhisattva-mahāsattva, great bodhisattvas). All of them were great bodhisattvas of the Bhadrakalpa. At that time, the World-Honored One, in the midst of this assembly, said to the bodhisattva-mahāsattva Maitreya (Maitreya bodhisattva-mahāsattva, Bodhisattva Maitreya): 'Now, the supremely wonderful and auspicious names of all the Buddhas and Tathagatas in the ten directions, if there are good men and good women who, with mindfulness, uphold, and single-mindedly revere these names of the Tathagatas, all karmic obstacles, retributive obstacles, and grave sins of breaking precepts will be eliminated and extinguished. The supremely wonderful good roots, true merits, exhortation, rejoicing, dedication, and vows of all merits will never regress from the mind of Bodhi. I now wish to speak of them; you should listen attentively.'

At that time, the World-Honored One further told the bodhisattva Maitreya: 'Going east from here, passing through ten inexpressible hundreds of thousands of millions of Buddha lands of dust motes, there is a Buddha world named Wonderful True Pearl. In that country, there is a Buddha named Void Merit Eye Pure Immaculate Light Virtue Appearance Lotus Flame Lapis Lazuli Colored Treasure Body Fragrance, adorned with all kinds of wonderful colors, with a wonderful mark on the crown of his head, and boundless light of the sun and moon.'
願力莊嚴變化莊嚴廣大莊嚴法界高勝無染寶王正遍知如來。授一無比菩薩記。彼佛滅度次當成佛。號曰毫相殊勝猶如初日燈光月焰波頭摩花身色如金滿虛空界光明廣大無礙莊嚴圓光十方普照一切無不明瞭幢相旗王正遍知如來。
佛言慈氏。當知若有善男子善女人。能於此諸佛名受持禮拜專心恭敬。於十日中自說罪咎。復以勸請隨喜迴向發願勝妙善根。所有業障報障破戒重罪悉皆消滅。雖處生死未免流轉。而不退失求菩提心。所生之處族姓尊貴。遠離貧窮邊地下賤。六根圓滿眾人愛敬端正無比。常值善友不遇惡人。諸有愿求悉皆隨意。財寶榮位無不遂心。命終之後生諸佛國。先作如是禮懺事已。至心讀誦此陀羅尼。即說咒曰。
呾侄他 惡契莫契 三曼多目契騷鞞欲帝 陀泥 三摩瑜祇 質多鞞跋多 惡契目契 薩多陀泥 毗吠帝 三曼多寠泥(去)薩多曷羅謎目帝缽唎目底 呬囇密麗 牟薩麗 阿三謎談謎 阿至麗 末至麗 菩提曷啰 膩薄呼𢮓 摩愈揭喇呬 辛底謗計 醯摩伐底 樹底伐底 達摩震帝 阿躄㿲箄 曷啰敵箄 塞建陀 毗薄帝 莎訶
爾時世尊復說頌曰。
六十億大仙 皆受持此咒 彼常念不散 現在十方住 于所在生中 常值善知識 所有悕望者 應念皆隨
【現代漢語翻譯】 現代漢語譯本 願力莊嚴、變化莊嚴、廣大莊嚴法界的,高勝無染的寶王正遍知如來(Tathagata,如來),授予一位無比菩薩記別(Vyakarana,授記)。這位菩薩在寶王正遍知如來滅度后,將次第成佛,佛號為毫相殊勝猶如初日燈光月焰波頭摩花身色如金滿虛空界光明廣大無礙莊嚴圓光十方普照一切無不明瞭幢相旗王正遍知如來(Tathagata,如來)。
佛(Buddha)告訴慈氏(Maitreya,彌勒菩薩)說:『應當知道,如果有善男子、善女人,能夠對這些佛的名號受持、禮拜、專心恭敬,在十日之中自己說出罪過,並且以勸請、隨喜、迴向、發願等殊勝美妙的善根,那麼所有業障、報障、破戒等嚴重罪過,都將全部消滅。雖然身處生死輪迴,無法避免流轉,但不會退失求菩提(Bodhi,覺悟)之心。所出生的地方,族姓尊貴,遠離貧窮和邊地**,六根圓滿,眾人愛戴敬仰,相貌端正無比,常能遇到善友,不會遇到惡人。各種願望都能如意實現,財寶榮華地位沒有不稱心的。命終之後,往生到諸佛國土。』先做完這樣的禮懺之事後,至誠讀誦此陀羅尼(Dharani,總持)。即說咒語如下:

這時,世尊(Bhagavan,佛)又說了頌:
『六十億大仙,都受持此咒,他們常念不散,現在住在十方。在他們所出生的各個地方,常能遇到善知識,所有希望的事情,都能應念實現。』
【English Translation】 English version The Tathagata (如來), the Perfectly Enlightened One, named 'Adorned with Vows, Adorned with Transformations, Vastly Adorned Dharmadhatu (法界), Supreme, Pure, and Jewel King,' bestows a prediction (Vyakarana, 授記) upon an unparalleled Bodhisattva (菩薩). After the Parinirvana (滅度) of that Buddha (佛), this Bodhisattva will successively attain Buddhahood (成佛), and will be named 'Remarkable with Auspicious Marks, Like the First Sunlight, Lamp Light, Moon Flame, Paduma (波頭摩) Flower, Body Color Like Gold, Filling the Empty Realm, Light Vast and Unobstructed, Adorned with a Halo, Universally Illuminating the Ten Directions, Everything Clearly Understood, Banner Mark Flag King, Perfectly Enlightened Tathagata (如來).'
The Buddha (佛) said to Maitreya (慈氏, 彌勒菩薩): 'You should know that if there are good men or good women who can receive, uphold, prostrate to, and wholeheartedly revere these Buddhas' names, and who, within ten days, confess their transgressions, and further, with exhortation, rejoicing, dedication, and aspiration, generate supreme and wonderful roots of goodness, then all karmic obstacles, retributive obstacles, and grave sins of breaking precepts will all be extinguished. Although they are in the cycle of birth and death, unable to avoid transmigration, they will not lose their aspiration for Bodhi (菩提, enlightenment). In the places where they are born, their families will be noble, they will be far from poverty and border regions**, their six senses will be complete, they will be loved and respected by all, their appearance will be incomparably upright, they will always encounter good friends and will not encounter evil people. All their wishes will be fulfilled as desired, and wealth, honor, and position will all be satisfying. After the end of their lives, they will be reborn in the Buddha lands.' After performing such acts of repentance and worship, sincerely recite this Dharani (陀羅尼, 總持). The mantra is spoken as follows:
'Tadyatha (呾侄他) Akche Mokche Samanta Mukhe Sao Bei Yu Di Tuo Ni Sanma Yu Zhi Zhi Tuo Bei Ba Tuo Akche Mukche Sa Tuo Tuo Ni Pi Wei Di Samanta Ju Ni (去) Sa Tuo He Luo Mi Mu Di Bo Li Mu Di Xi Li Mi Li Mou Sa Li A San Mi Tan Mi A Zhi Li Mo Zhi Li Bodhi He Luo Ni Bo Hu Hong Mo Yu Jie La Xi Xin Di Bang Ji Xi Mo Fa Di Shu Di Fa Di Dharma Zhen Di A Bi Xie Pi He Luo Di Pi Sai Jian Tuo Pi Bo Di Svaha (莎訶)'
At that time, the Bhagavan (世尊, Buddha) spoke the following verse:
'Sixty billion great immortals all uphold this mantra. They constantly remember it without scattering, and now reside in the ten directions. In all the places where they are born, they always encounter good spiritual friends. All that they hope for will be fulfilled as soon as they think of it.'
意 現前見諸佛 而在蓮華座 常持此咒者 具相而化生 念定皆安隱 智慧日增明 所聞能受持 諸句義不忘 若持諸佛名 是世歸依處 不墮于惡趣 常生善道中 此人由佛力 常得殊勝處 乃至證菩提 妙行常修習 佛土多千億 黃金滿持施 若人持佛名 福聚多於彼 斯人合供養 隨其所在生 恒生富貴家 勇健施無吝 一切諸香氣 天赤栴檀香 經多百億劫 常從其口生 若人舍宅中 寫佛名供養 眷屬常安隱 無諸惱亂事 若人常誦持 長壽並無病 恒逢于善友 臨終不亂心 如來功德聚 福量難思議 智人應誦持 當勤莫放逸
爾時薄伽梵。為慈氏菩薩並諸大眾。說是經已。慈氏菩薩等及諸苾芻人天大眾。聞佛所說。皆大歡喜頂受奉行。

這時,薄伽梵(世尊)為慈氏菩薩(彌勒菩薩)以及所有的大眾,宣說了這部經。 慈氏菩薩等以及所有的比丘(出家男子)、人天大眾,聽聞佛所說的法,都非常歡喜,頂戴受持並且奉行。
《佛說稱讚如來功德神咒經》一卷
【English Translation】 English version Meaning: Now directly seeing all the Buddhas, seated on lotus thrones. Those who constantly hold this mantra will be born with excellent features. Recitation and meditation will both be peaceful and secure, and wisdom will daily increase and brighten. What is heard can be received and retained, and all sentences and meanings will not be forgotten. If one holds the names of all the Buddhas, that person is a refuge in the world. They will not fall into evil destinies, and will always be born in good realms. This person, by the power of the Buddha, will always obtain excellent places. Even until attaining Bodhi (enlightenment), they will constantly cultivate wonderful practices. Even if one were to give away billions of Buddha lands filled with gold, If someone holds the name of the Buddha, the accumulation of merit will be greater than that. This person should be offered to, wherever they are born, They will always be born into wealthy and noble families, brave and generous without stinginess. All fragrances, even heavenly red sandalwood, For hundreds of billions of kalpas (eons), will constantly emanate from their mouth. If someone in their dwelling writes the names of the Buddhas and makes offerings, Their family members will always be peaceful and secure, without any disturbing events. If someone constantly recites and holds this mantra, they will have longevity and no illness. They will always encounter good friends, and their mind will not be disturbed at the time of death. The accumulation of the Tathagata's (Buddha's) merits, the measure of blessings is inconceivable. Wise people should recite and hold this mantra, and should be diligent and not be lax.
At that time, the Bhagavan (World Honored One) spoke this sutra for the Maitreya Bodhisattva (慈氏菩薩) and all the assembly. Maitreya Bodhisattva (慈氏菩薩) and all the Bhikshus (苾芻, monks), humans, and heavenly beings, hearing what the Buddha said, were all very happy, accepted it with the crown of their heads, and practiced it accordingly.
