佛說持句神咒經

聞如是。一時佛在舍衛國祇樹給孤獨園。與大比丘眾千二百五十人菩薩萬人。爾時從是佛土過億百千佛國。有世界名無量華。其佛號鄧尊王如來無所著至真等正覺。今現在說法。彼佛遣二菩薩。一名無量光明二名大光明。時二菩薩來至釋迦文佛所。稽首佛足卻住一面。前白佛言。唯然世尊從是佛土過億百千佛國。有世界名無量華。其佛號鄧尊王如來。遣我等來。世尊如常不其眾安隱無他耶。天龍鬼神餓鬼女鬼鳩桓。若人非人虎狼毒獸。得無嬈亂人民。用是故佛遣是持句咒來。哀念眾生令安。吉善名聞威神得力。如是。

阇梨摩訶　阇梨羅尼　優佉目佉　沙波提　摩訶沙波提

佛告阿難。受是持句咒執持誦說。佛世難值。持句咒亦為難遇。善男子善女人。受是持句咒。諷誦讀識七世宿命。受持者一切浮陀鬼神若人非人。不得嬈近。毒蛇不敢螫。毒藥自然除。刀亦不能傷。王亦不能害。梵亦不瞋之。是持句咒。七十七億佛所說。犯是咒者當獲重罪。復有菩薩彌勒等八十人。告賢者阿難。我亦當說持句咒。哀念眾生令安。

【English Translation】 English version Thus have I heard. At one time, the Buddha was in the Jetavana-anāthapindika-ārāma in Śrāvastī, with a gathering of 1,250 great Bhikshus and 10,000 Bodhisattvas. At that time, passing through hundreds of thousands of millions of Buddha-lands from this Buddha-land, there was a world named Ananta-puṣpa (Limitless Flower), whose Buddha was named Dengzunwang Tathāgata (King Dengzun Tathāgata), Arhat, Samyak-saṃbuddha, now preaching the Dharma. That Buddha sent two Bodhisattvas, one named Ananta-prabha (Limitless Light) and the second named Mahā-prabha (Great Light). At that time, these two Bodhisattvas came to where Śākyamuni Buddha was, bowed their heads to the Buddha's feet, and stood to one side. They stepped forward and said to the Buddha: 'World Honored One, from this Buddha-land, passing through hundreds of thousands of millions of Buddha-lands, there is a world named Ananta-puṣpa, whose Buddha is named Dengzunwang Tathāgata, who sent us here. World Honored One, are you as always, and is the assembly peaceful and without trouble? Are the Nāgas, Deva-yakṣas, Pretas, Pūtanas, Kumbhāṇḍas, and humans and Amanussas, tigers, wolves, and poisonous beasts not disturbing the people? Therefore, the Buddha sent this Dhāraṇī (holding phrase) here, to have compassion on sentient beings and bring them peace.' May auspicious good names be widely known, and may divine power be obtained. So it is. 'Jhali maha, Jhali rani, Ukha mukha, Shaboti, Maha shaboti.' The Buddha told Ānanda: 'Receive this Dhāraṇī, uphold it, recite it, and speak it. It is difficult to encounter a Buddha in the world, and it is also difficult to encounter a Dhāraṇī. Good men and good women, receive this Dhāraṇī, chant it, read it, and recognize it, and you will know your past lives for seven existences. Those who uphold this mantra, all Bhūtas, humans and non-humans, will not be able to disturb or approach. Poisonous snakes will not dare to bite, poison will naturally be eliminated, swords will not be able to harm, kings will not be able to injure, and Brahma will not be angry. This Dhāraṇī was spoken by seventy-seven billion Buddhas.' Those who violate this mantra will incur heavy sins. Furthermore, eighty Bodhisattvas, including Maitreya, told the worthy Ānanda: 'I also should speak a Dhāraṇī, to have compassion on sentient beings and bring them peace.'

吉善名聞威神得力。如是。

阿知和知　吒佉羅羅　里彌喜利　彌利提盧　留彌勒

佛告阿難。受是持句咒執持誦說。佛世難值。持句咒諷誦讀識。十四世宿命。受持者一切浮陀鬼神。若人非人不得嬈近。毒蛇不敢螫。毒藥自然除。刀亦不能傷。王亦不敢害。梵亦不瞋之。是持句咒八十四億佛所說。謗是咒者當獲重罪。

佛告阿難。我亦當說持句咒。哀念眾生令安。吉善名聞威神得力。如是。

阿知和知　那知鳩那知　提梨　沙羅波提　阿那波提　波那提　波那迦和尼　摩訶迦和尼

佛告阿難。受是持句咒執持誦說。佛世難值。持句咒亦為難遇。善男子善女人。受是持句咒諷誦讀。識無數世宿命。受持者一切浮陀鬼神。若人非人不敢嬈近。毒蛇不敢螫。毒藥自然除。刀亦不敢傷。王亦不敢害。梵亦不瞋之。是持句咒無數億佛所說。犯是咒者當獲重罪。佛告阿難。是持句咒。行道中當念之。若至縣官若行賊中。若蠱道若毒若刀刃中。若人非人中當念之。是持句咒于枯樹令生葉華實。何況為人結縷也。當使吉百病消除。自然安隱辟除兇害。南無佛令咒皆得從愿。佛說經已皆大歡喜。

佛陀告訴阿難：『接受並執持誦唸這個持句咒語。佛陀住世的時代難以值遇，持句咒語的諷誦讀識也同樣難得。能夠受持此咒者，可得知過去十四世的宿命。一切浮陀（Putuo，鬼神名）鬼神，若人或非人，皆不得侵擾靠近。毒蛇不敢螫咬，毒藥自然消除，刀刃亦不能傷害，國王也不敢加害，梵天也不會嗔怒。此持句咒語乃八十四億佛所說。誹謗此咒者，當獲重罪。』

佛陀告訴阿難：『我也應當宣說持句咒語，哀憐眾生，令其安樂。吉祥善名遠揚，威德神力得以增長，如是。』

佛陀告訴阿難：『接受並執持誦唸這個持句咒語。佛陀住世的時代難以值遇，持句咒語也極為難得。善男子、善女人，受持此持句咒語，諷誦讀識，可知無數世的宿命。受持此咒者，一切浮陀（Putuo，鬼神名）鬼神，若人或非人，皆不敢侵擾靠近。毒蛇不敢螫咬，毒藥自然消除，刀刃亦不敢傷害，國王也不敢加害，梵天也不會嗔怒。此持句咒語乃無數億佛所說。冒犯此咒者，當獲重罪。』佛陀告訴阿難：『此持句咒語，在行道中應當唸誦。若至縣官處，若行於盜賊之中，若遇蠱道、毒藥、刀刃，若處人或非人之中，都應當唸誦。此持句咒語能使枯樹生出葉、花、果實，何況是為人結縷祈福呢？當使其吉祥，百病消除，自然安穩，辟除兇害。南無佛（Namo Buddha，皈依佛陀），令咒語皆得從愿。』佛陀說完此經，大眾皆大歡喜。

《佛說持句神咒經》

【English Translation】 English version: Auspicious and virtuous name is widely known, majestic power and divine strength are gained, so be it.

A zhi he zhi, zha qie luo luo, li mi xi li, mi li ti lu, liu mi le.

The Buddha told Ananda: 'Receive, uphold, recite, and speak this Dharani Mantra. It is difficult to encounter a Buddha's presence in the world, and equally rare is the recitation and understanding of this Dharani Mantra. Those who uphold this mantra can know their past fourteen lifetimes. All Putuo (鬼神名, name of a spirit) ghosts and spirits, whether human or non-human, will not dare to disturb or approach. Poisonous snakes will not dare to bite, poisons will naturally be eliminated, blades cannot harm, kings will not dare to harm, and Brahma will not be angered. This Dharani Mantra is spoken by eighty-four billion Buddhas. Those who slander this mantra will incur severe penalties.'

The Buddha told Ananda: 'I shall also speak the Dharani Mantra, to have compassion for sentient beings and bring them peace. Auspicious and virtuous name is widely known, majestic power and divine strength are gained, so be it.'

A zhi he zhi, na zhi jiu na zhi, ti li, sha luo bo ti, a na bo ti, bo na ti, bo na jia he ni, mo he jia he ni.

The Buddha told Ananda: 'Receive, uphold, recite, and speak this Dharani Mantra. It is difficult to encounter a Buddha's presence in the world, and this Dharani Mantra is extremely rare. Good men and good women, uphold this Dharani Mantra, recite and understand it, and you will know countless lifetimes of past existence. Those who uphold this mantra, all Putuo (鬼神名, name of a spirit) ghosts and spirits, whether human or non-human, will not dare to disturb or approach. Poisonous snakes will not dare to bite, poisons will naturally be eliminated, blades will not dare to harm, kings will not dare to harm, and Brahma will not be angered. This Dharani Mantra is spoken by countless billions of Buddhas. Those who violate this mantra will incur severe penalties.' The Buddha told Ananda: 'This Dharani Mantra should be recited while walking on the path. If you go to the county office, if you walk among thieves, if you encounter witchcraft, poison, or blades, if you are among humans or non-humans, you should recite it. This Dharani Mantra can cause a枯樹(kushu, dry tree) to sprout leaves, flowers, and fruits, how much more so can it bring blessings to people by tying threads? It will bring auspiciousness, eliminate hundreds of diseases, bring natural peace, and ward off misfortune. Namo Buddha (皈依佛陀, Homage to the Buddha), may all wishes be fulfilled through this mantra.' After the Buddha spoke this sutra, everyone rejoiced greatly.
