如是我聞。一時世尊在阿耨達池無熱惱龍王宮。與大比丘眾四百五十人俱。復有師子游戲菩薩等大菩薩眾具足千人。一切皆得陀羅尼十地圓滿。得灌頂已位居補處。被大甲冑趣諸佛德。心不退轉名稱普聞。如是等菩薩摩訶薩。悉從他方而來集會。

爾時師子游戲菩薩摩訶薩。從座而起偏袒右肩。詣世尊前右膝著地。合掌恭肅而白佛言。世尊如佛福蘊當云何得。又于如來作供養者。云何因果無量無邊。唯愿如來慈悲開示。作是說已凝心而住。

爾時佛告師子游戲菩薩摩訶薩言。善哉善哉善男子。汝今問我如來福蘊云何而得。又于如來作供養者。云何因果無量無邊。汝當諦聽今為汝說。

佛言善男子。如來有五法具足功德無量無邊。云何五法。所謂戒定慧解脫解脫知見。善男子如來具足如是五法無量功德。是故獲得福蘊無量無邊。善男子若於如來作供養者。當得涅槃若彼三乘隨其發心。各各所見而得涅槃。善男子若見如來應正等覺。以清凈心諦信歸命尊重稱讚。

爾時,師子游戲菩薩摩訶薩,從座而起,偏袒右肩,詣世尊前,右膝著地,合掌恭肅而白佛言:『世尊,如佛福蘊當云何得?又于如來作供養者,云何因果無量無邊?唯愿如來慈悲開示。』作是說已,凝心而住。

爾時,佛告師子游戲菩薩摩訶薩言:『善哉善哉,善男子。汝今問我如來福蘊云何而得?又于如來作供養者,云何因果無量無邊?汝當諦聽,今為汝說。』

佛言:『善男子,如來有五法具足功德無量無邊。云何五法?所謂戒、定、慧、解脫、解脫知見。善男子,如來具足如是五法無量功德,是故獲得福蘊無量無邊。善男子,若於如來作供養者,當得涅槃(Nirvana),若彼三乘隨其發心,各各所見而得涅槃。善男子,若見如來應正等覺,以清凈心諦信歸命尊重稱讚。』

【English Translation】 English version The Buddha Speaks the Flower Adornment Pavilion Dharani Sutra

Translated by Tripitaka Master Shi Hu, Minister of Honglu Temple, Great Master of Spreading the Dharma, under Imperial Decree from the Western Regions

Thus have I heard. At one time, the World Honored One was in the Anavatapta (Anavatapta: a lake in Buddhist cosmology) Lake, in the palace of the Dragon King free from heat and affliction. He was with a gathering of four hundred and fifty great Bhikshus (Bhikshu: Buddhist monk). Furthermore, there were a thousand great Bodhisattvas (Bodhisattva: an enlightened being) such as Simhavikridita Bodhisattva (Simhavikridita Bodhisattva: a specific Bodhisattva). All had attained the perfection of the ten grounds of Dharani (dharani: a type of mantra). Having received empowerment, they were in the position of successors, adorned with great armor, striving for the virtues of all Buddhas. Their minds were unshakeable, and their names were universally known. Such Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas (Bodhisattva-Mahasattva: great Bodhisattvas) had all come from other realms.

At that time, Simhavikridita Bodhisattva-Mahasattva rose from his seat, bared his right shoulder, approached the World Honored One, knelt on his right knee, joined his palms respectfully, and said to the Buddha: 'World Honored One, how can the treasury of merit of the Buddha be obtained? And for those who make offerings to the Tathagata (Tathagata: 'one who has thus come' or 'one who has thus gone,' an epithet of the Buddha), what limitless and boundless cause and effect will they have? May the Tathagata compassionately reveal this.' Having spoken thus, he remained with a focused mind.

At that time, the Buddha said to Simhavikridita Bodhisattva-Mahasattva: 'Excellent, excellent, good man. You now ask me how the treasury of merit of the Tathagata can be obtained, and for those who make offerings to the Tathagata, what limitless and boundless cause and effect will they have. Listen attentively, and I will now explain it to you.'

The Buddha said: 'Good man, the Tathagata has five dharmas (dharma: teachings or laws) that are complete, with limitless and boundless merit. What are the five dharmas? They are: precepts, concentration, wisdom, liberation, and the knowledge and vision of liberation. Good man, the Tathagata possesses these five dharmas completely, with limitless merit. Therefore, he obtains a limitless and boundless treasury of merit. Good man, if one makes offerings to the Tathagata, one will attain Nirvana (Nirvana: enlightenment), and if those of the three vehicles follow their aspirations, each will attain Nirvana according to their understanding. Good man, if one sees the Tathagata, the worthy and perfectly enlightened one, with a pure mind, sincerely believes, takes refuge, respects, and praises him.'


又以衣服臥具病緣醫藥。一切所須而供養者。所獲果報無量無邊。善男子若復如來般涅槃后。有得如來舍利如芥子等而供養者。所獲果報於一切中最。又復作種種福。若於如來舍利作供養者。其福最上。師子游戲。若復有人持于寶聚如妙高山等。佈施供養聲聞及辟支佛。所獲果報。不如在家及出家菩薩發無上正等覺心。以一金錢布施供養。如來應正覺。以前方便善根。於後方便善根。百分不及一。千分不及一。百千分不及一。乃至算分數分譬喻分譬喻轉分。乃至算數譬喻所不能及。善男子又復如來住世百年千年。乃至百千年應化畢已。般涅槃后以佛舍利而起妙塔。若復有人於此塔所。以香泥塗地作曼拏羅。施設花鬘涂香燒香然燈志心供養。乃至持一花一燈以為供養。或持帚拂除去塵坌。或以一掬水用為灑凈。如是之人以志心故獲福無量。是人先世所有罪業當墮阿鼻地獄。以于塔所作供養故。先世罪報皆悉除滅。善男子若復有人。發一念心歸命于佛。又不中退復不輕慢。是人當來于百劫千劫乃至百千劫中。常感勝福生於人天不復墮落一切惡趣。

善男子我今說此花積樓閣陀羅尼經。為欲利益安樂天上人間一切眾生故。善男子若復有人得此花積樓閣陀羅尼經。志心受持讀誦供養。又復演彼真實義趣廣為人說。是人永

【English Translation】 English version Furthermore, to offer clothing, bedding, medicine for illness, and all necessities to the Buddha results in immeasurable and boundless rewards. Good son, if after the Tathagata's Parinirvana (complete nirvana), someone obtains even a mustard seed's worth of the Tathagata's relics and makes offerings, the resulting merit is the greatest of all. Moreover, performing various meritorious deeds, if one makes offerings to the Tathagata's relics, that merit is supreme. Lion's play (a metaphor for the Bodhisattva's prowess). If someone uses a collection of treasures like Mount Meru (Sumeru), offering them in charity to Sravakas (voice-hearers) and Pratyekabuddhas (solitary Buddhas), the resulting merit is not as great as that of a lay or monastic Bodhisattva who generates the mind of Anuttara-Samyak-Sambodhi (unsurpassed, complete and perfect enlightenment) and offers a single gold coin to the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyak-Sambuddha (Tathagata, worthy one, perfectly enlightened one). The former expedient wholesome roots cannot compare to the latter expedient wholesome roots, not by one percent, not by one thousandth, not by one hundred thousandth, not even by calculation, division, analogy, or transformation of analogy, not even by calculation and analogy. Good son, furthermore, if the Tathagata dwells in the world for a hundred years, a thousand years, or even a hundred thousand years, and after completing his manifested deeds, enters Parinirvana, and a wonderful stupa (reliquary) is erected with the Buddha's relics, if someone at this stupa, uses fragrant mud to paint the ground, creates a Mandala (sacred diagram), arranges flower garlands, applies fragrant oils, burns incense, lights lamps, and makes offerings with a sincere heart, even if it's just offering a single flower or a single lamp, or sweeps away dust with a broom, or uses a handful of water for purification, such a person, because of their sincere heart, obtains immeasurable blessings. All the sins of this person's past lives, which would have caused them to fall into Avici Hell (the most painful of the eight great hells), are completely eradicated because of making offerings at the stupa. Good son, if someone generates a single thought of taking refuge in the Buddha, and does not retreat or become disrespectful, this person will in the future, for hundreds of kalpas (aeons), thousands of kalpas, or even hundreds of thousands of kalpas, constantly experience supreme blessings, be born in the realms of humans and gods, and no longer fall into any of the evil realms. Good son, I now speak this 'Flower Adorned Pavilion Dharani Sutra' for the benefit and happiness of all beings in the heavens and on earth. Good son, if someone obtains this 'Flower Adorned Pavilion Dharani Sutra', sincerely upholds, recites, and makes offerings to it, and further expounds its true meaning and widely explains it to others, that person will eternally


不墮一切惡趣。亦不生卑下種族。常生人天殊勝之處。諸根圓滿獲宿命通。具足種種甚深辯才。恒得值遇佛法僧寶。又得如來憶念覆護。得菩提心永不退轉。

爾時世尊即說陀羅尼曰。

善男子此陀羅尼。乃是十方無量無邊諸佛如來同共宣說。若復有人聞此陀羅尼經名字。發至誠心恭信供養。是人當來獲得無量無邊功德。又復若人持此陀羅尼。成先行已。於二月三月或八月。取白月八日起首。發至誠心於一晝夜中六時。念此陀羅尼及憶念諸佛如來。心不散亂。復以涂

【English Translation】 English version: He will not fall into any evil destinies (the three evil realms of hell, hungry ghosts, and animals), nor will he be born into lowly castes. He will always be born in superior places among humans and gods. His faculties will be complete and perfect, and he will obtain knowledge of past lives (宿命通). He will possess all kinds of profound eloquence. He will constantly encounter the Triple Gem of Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. Moreover, he will receive the Buddha's remembrance and protection. He will obtain the Bodhi mind (菩提心, the mind of enlightenment) and never regress. At that time, the World Honored One then spoke the Dharani (陀羅尼, mantra) saying: Tadyatha dharani dharani muni prabha svaha siddhi candri natha ciniri hili arugya vate buddha vate vili ukacira jupagate tejo vate visala buddhi dharma vabhase aksaya kalpe kalpa vate amrita kalpe huta sani tejo vate nitya samahite tejo vate tiksna draya buddhi svaha Good man, this Dharani is jointly proclaimed by countless Buddhas and Tathagatas in the ten directions. If someone hears the name of this Dharani Sutra, generates a sincere mind, and respectfully believes in and makes offerings, that person will obtain immeasurable and boundless merits in the future. Furthermore, if someone upholds this Dharani, having accomplished the preliminary practices, in the second, third, or eighth month, starting from the eighth day of the white month (waxing moon), generates a sincere mind, and recites this Dharani and remembers all the Buddhas and Tathagatas six times during one day and night, with a mind that is not scattered, and then uses scented paste…


香妙花燒香然燈。種種供養心不間斷至十五日決定得見世尊。坐蓮華藏座說陀羅尼法。持誦之人應時獲得意願圓滿。心垢悉除證宿命通。得諸禪定住四聖諦。解諸法義論及工巧事業。乃至臨命終時耳根不壞。悉能了別一切勝事。乃至或聞如來為說四聖諦等無漏。

爾時世尊說是陀羅尼經已。師子游戲菩薩摩訶薩。及諸大菩薩大比丘眾。天人阿修羅乾闥婆等。聞佛所說。皆大歡喜禮佛而退。

佛說花積樓閣陀羅尼經

【現代漢語翻譯】 現代漢語譯本: 以香妙的花、焚香和點燈來供養,以種種供養,心中不間斷地進行,直到十五日,決定能夠見到世尊(釋迦牟尼佛)。世尊端坐在蓮華藏座上,宣說陀羅尼法。持誦此陀羅尼的人,能夠立即獲得意願圓滿,心中的污垢全部消除,證得宿命通(知曉過去世的能力),獲得各種禪定,安住於四聖諦(苦、集、滅、道)。能夠理解各種法的意義,以及工巧事業。乃至臨命終時,耳根也不會損壞,完全能夠明瞭辨別一切殊勝的事情。甚至能夠聽聞如來說四聖諦等無漏法。

當時,世尊說完這部陀羅尼經后,師子游戲菩薩摩訶薩(具大勢力的菩薩)以及各位大菩薩、大比丘眾、天人、阿修羅、乾闥婆(天上的樂神)等,聽聞佛所說,都非常歡喜,向佛頂禮後退下。

《佛說花積樓閣陀羅尼經》 English version: Offering with fragrant and wonderful flowers, burning incense, and lighting lamps, making various offerings with an uninterrupted heart until the fifteenth day, one will definitely be able to see the World Honored One (Shakyamuni Buddha). The World Honored One sits upon the lotus treasury seat, expounding the Dharani (mantra) Dharma. Those who uphold and recite this Dharani will immediately have their wishes fulfilled, all defilements in their hearts eliminated, attain the power of knowing past lives (Purvanivasanusmriti), obtain various Samadhis (meditative states), and abide in the Four Noble Truths (Dukkha, Samudaya, Nirodha, Magga). They will be able to understand the meaning of all Dharmas, as well as skillful crafts and undertakings. Even at the time of death, their ears will not be damaged, and they will be able to clearly distinguish all excellent matters. They may even hear the Thus Come One (Tathagata) expounding the Four Noble Truths and other undefiled Dharmas.

At that time, after the World Honored One finished speaking this Dharani Sutra, the Lion Game Bodhisattva Mahasattva (a great and powerful Bodhisattva), along with all the great Bodhisattvas, great Bhikshus (monks), Devas (gods), Asuras (demigods), Gandharvas (celestial musicians), and others, hearing what the Buddha said, were all very happy, prostrated to the Buddha, and withdrew.
