如是我聞。一時薄伽梵。在雞羅山頂天仙神宮。與大苾芻眾千二百五十人俱。及無量無數菩薩摩訶薩。曼殊室利跋陀波羅。十六大士而為上首。並諸天人阿素洛等。大梵天王而為上首。無量大眾前後圍繞。
爾時世尊住正念智。為諸大眾說微妙法。時大梵王率諸天眾。阿素洛等頂禮佛足。合掌恭敬住如來前。俱白佛言世尊在昔。為欲利樂諸有情故。求證無上正等菩提。悲願熏心成等正覺。有大神力具大慈悲。何故現見諸有情類。墮在地獄餓鬼傍生。及人天中受諸劇苦。不設善巧方便濟拔。惟愿哀愍令脫苦難。時觀自在亦率無量持咒天仙。頂禮佛足合掌恭敬。住如來前俱白佛言。唯愿哀愍諸有情故。開示善巧拔苦難法。
爾時世尊告二大士及其眷屬。汝等就座。吾今愍念一切有情。略說善巧拔苦難法。汝應諦聽極善思惟有大陀羅尼名勝幢臂印。若常誦唸能滅五逆十惡等罪。終不更受諸惡趣生。及人天中所有極苦。恒受持者現得財位。于當來世生尊貴家。所欲現前受諸快樂。常值諸佛得宿命念。乃至無上正等菩提。陀羅尼曰

如是我聞。一時,薄伽梵(Bhagavan,世尊)在雞羅山頂的天仙神宮,與一千二百五十位大比丘眾,以及無量無數的菩薩摩訶薩(Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva,大菩薩),以曼殊室利(Mañjuśrī,文殊菩薩)、跋陀波羅(Bhadrapāla,賢護菩薩)等十六位大士為首,還有諸天人、阿素洛(Asura,阿修羅)等,以大梵天王為首,無量大眾前後圍繞。
爾時,世尊安住于正念智,為大眾宣說微妙之法。當時,大梵天王率領諸天眾、阿素洛等,頂禮佛足,合掌恭敬地站在如來面前,一同稟告佛說:『世尊,您在過去爲了利益安樂一切有情眾生,求證無上正等菩提(Anuttarā-samyak-saṃbodhi,無上正等正覺),以悲願之心成就正等正覺,具有大神力和大慈悲心。為何現在眼見諸有情眾生,墮在地獄、餓鬼、傍生(畜生道),以及人天之中,遭受各種劇烈痛苦,卻不施設善巧方便來救濟拔除?惟愿您哀愍他們,使他們脫離苦難。』當時,觀自在菩薩(Avalokiteśvara,觀世音菩薩)也率領無量持咒天仙,頂禮佛足,合掌恭敬地站在如來面前,一同稟告佛說:『惟愿您哀愍諸有情眾生,開示善巧方便之法,拔除他們的苦難。』
爾時,世尊告訴這兩位大士及其眷屬:『你們就座。我現在爲了憐憫一切有情眾生,簡略地說一種善巧方便、拔除苦難之法。你們應當仔細聽,極好地思惟。有一個大陀羅尼,名為《勝幢臂印》。如果經常誦唸,能夠滅除五逆十惡等罪,終究不再承受諸惡趣的果報,以及人天之中所有的劇烈痛苦。恒常受持此陀羅尼的人,現世能夠獲得財富和地位,在未來世能夠出生於尊貴之家,所希望的都能顯現,享受各種快樂,常能遇到諸佛,獲得宿命通,乃至證得無上正等菩提。』陀羅尼曰:
【English Translation】 English version The Dhāraṇī Sutra of the Victory Banner Arm Seal
Translated by the Tripiṭaka Master Xuanzang of the Tang Dynasty under Imperial Order
Thus have I heard. At one time, the Bhagavan (World-Honored One) was in the celestial palace on the summit of Mount Kukkuta, together with a great assembly of twelve hundred and fifty Bhikshus (monks), as well as countless Bodhisattva-Mahāsattvas (great Bodhisattvas), with Mañjuśrī (Manjushri Bodhisattva), Bhadrapāla (Guardian of Virtue Bodhisattva), and sixteen great beings as their leaders, along with various Devas (gods), humans, Asuras (demigods), and others, with the Great Brahma King as their leader, surrounded by an immeasurable multitude.
At that time, the World-Honored One dwelt in Right Mindfulness and Wisdom, expounding the subtle Dharma to the assembly. Then, the Great Brahma King, leading the Devas, Asuras, and others, prostrated at the Buddha's feet, joined their palms in reverence, and stood before the Tathagata (Thus Come One), saying in unison: 'World-Honored One, in the past, for the sake of benefiting and bringing joy to all sentient beings, you sought to attain Anuttarā-samyak-saṃbodhi (unsurpassed, complete, and perfect enlightenment), and with a heart imbued with compassion and vows, you achieved complete enlightenment, possessing great divine power and great compassion. Why do you now witness sentient beings falling into the hells, the realms of hungry ghosts, and the animal realm, as well as experiencing various intense sufferings among humans and Devas, without employing skillful means to rescue and deliver them? We beseech you to have compassion and enable them to escape from suffering.' At that time, Avalokiteśvara (the Bodhisattva of Compassion) also led countless mantra-holding celestial beings, prostrated at the Buddha's feet, joined their palms in reverence, and stood before the Tathagata, saying in unison: 'We beseech you to have compassion for all sentient beings and reveal skillful means to liberate them from suffering.'
At that time, the World-Honored One said to the two great beings and their retinues: 'Take your seats. Now, out of compassion for all sentient beings, I will briefly speak of a skillful means to liberate them from suffering. You should listen attentively and contemplate it thoroughly. There is a great Dhāraṇī called the Victory Banner Arm Seal. If one constantly recites it, one can eradicate the sins of the five rebellious acts and the ten evil deeds, and will ultimately no longer be reborn in the evil realms, nor endure the intense sufferings among humans and Devas. Those who constantly uphold this Dhāraṇī will attain wealth and position in this life, and in future lives will be born into noble families, fulfilling their desires and experiencing various joys. They will constantly encounter Buddhas, attain the power of remembering past lives, and ultimately attain Anuttarā-samyak-saṃbodhi.' The Dhāraṇī is as follows:

善男子此勝幢臂印陀羅尼。是殑伽沙等諸佛共說。吾今愍念一切有情。因汝等請亦為眾說。善男子諸佛出世甚為難遇。善得人身復難於是。聞此神咒更復為難。若有善男子善女人。能正受持尚為難得。何況書寫精勤誦唸。及勸他人令受持者。善男子我念過去。曾於藥師琉璃光勝觀等諸佛所。聞此神咒受持讀誦正為他說。由此證得無上菩提。是故汝等應隨勤學。勸諸有情受持讀誦。令脫苦難獲勝利樂。
時薄伽梵說此經已。曼殊室利菩薩跋陀波羅菩薩觀自在菩薩。大梵天王及諸天人阿素洛等。一切大眾聞佛所說。皆大歡喜信受奉行。

善男子,此勝幢臂印陀羅尼,是殑伽沙(恒河沙)等諸佛共說。我現在憐憫一切有情眾生,因為你們的請求,也為大眾宣說。善男子,諸佛出世非常難遇到,能夠得到人身更加困難。能夠聽聞此神咒,更是難上加難。如果有善男子、善女人,能夠真正地接受和奉持,尚且是非常難得的,更何況是書寫、精勤地誦唸,以及勸導他人也來受持呢?善男子,我回憶過去,曾經在藥師琉璃光勝觀等諸佛處,聽聞此神咒,受持讀誦,並正確地為他人宣說,由此證得了無上菩提。所以,你們應當努力學習,勸導一切有情眾生受持讀誦,使他們脫離苦難,獲得勝利和安樂。
這時,薄伽梵(世尊)說完這部經后,曼殊室利菩薩(文殊菩薩),跋陀波羅菩薩(賢護菩薩),觀自在菩薩(觀音菩薩),大梵天王以及諸天人、阿素洛(阿修羅)等一切大眾,聽聞佛所說,都非常歡喜,信受奉行。
《勝幢臂印陀羅尼經》
【English Translation】 English version Karala Karala, Tsili Tsili, Kulu Kulu, Sala Sala, Sili Sili, Sulu Sulu, Sarva Buddha Bha (all Buddhas) Loke Te, Darala Darala, Sarva Dharma Loka Mukhe (the gate of all Dharma worlds), Chala Chala, Sarva Sangha Adhishthite (the blessing of all Sanghas), Bhala Bhala, Aneka Buddha (countless Buddhas) Dhakoti Bhasite, Tsena Tsena, Sarva Karma Avarana Ne (the destruction of all karmic obstacles), Mama Sarva Sattvanam Cha (for me and all sentient beings), Sarva Bhayani (eliminate all disasters), Sarva Dukkha Pranaye (release all suffering), Bhrikuta Bhrikuta, Drakuta Drakuta, Natata Natata, Katata Katata, Sphotaya Sphotaya, Sarva Avarana Bhaya Durgati Ni (destroy all obstacles, escape from evil paths), Svaha (completion).
Good man, this 'Victorious Banner Arm Seal Dharani' is spoken by Buddhas as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River (Ganga River). Now, out of compassion for all sentient beings, and because of your request, I also proclaim it for the assembly. Good man, it is extremely rare to encounter the appearance of Buddhas in the world, and even more difficult to obtain a human body. To hear this divine mantra is even more difficult than that. If there are good men and good women who can truly receive and uphold it, that is already very rare. How much more so to write it down, diligently recite it, and encourage others to receive and uphold it? Good man, I recall in the past, I heard this divine mantra at the places of Buddhas such as Bhaisajyaguru (Medicine Buddha) and the Victorious Light Observation Buddha, received, upheld, recited, and correctly proclaimed it to others. By this, I attained Anuttara-Samyak-Sambodhi (unsurpassed complete enlightenment). Therefore, you should diligently learn and encourage all sentient beings to receive and uphold and recite it, so that they may escape suffering and obtain victory and happiness.
At that time, the Bhagavan (World Honored One), having spoken this sutra, Manjushri Bodhisattva (Manjushri Bodhisattva), Bhadrapara Bodhisattva (Bhadrapara Bodhisattva), Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva (Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva), the Great Brahma King, and all the devas (gods), humans, asuras (demi-gods), and the entire assembly, hearing what the Buddha had said, were all greatly rejoiced, believed, accepted, and practiced it.
