如是我聞。一時世尊。遊行到于摩伽陀國庵沒羅林。住韋提呬山帝釋巖中。

爾時帝釋天主來詣佛所。前白佛言世尊。我有怖畏謂阿修羅。于長夜中來相嬈亂。阿修羅者我之怨敵。惟愿世尊為我宣說擁護法門。

爾時世尊告帝釋天主言。天主我有陀羅尼。名施一切無畏。此法善能作一切事。能除一切病。復能禁止一切傍生。能解一切怨縛。若有阿修羅及諸羅剎部多一切邪異。乃至一切諸惡鬼神之所執持。謂邪惡所執。天執龍執夜叉執乾闥婆執。緊那羅執頻那夜迦執。母鬼等執皆悉消滅。又復若有吸精氣者。食華鬘者障產生者。食不凈者皆悉除遣。又復若有一切瘧疾。及風黃痰癊等諸疾病亦悉消散。一切鬥戰諍訟陣敵皆悉破壞。我今為汝說此陀羅尼而作擁護。陀羅尼曰。

這時,世尊告訴帝釋天主說:『天主,我有一個陀羅尼(Dharani,總持、真言),名為施一切無畏。此法善於作成一切事,能去除一切疾病,又能禁止一切傍生(動物),能解開一切怨恨束縛。若有阿修羅及諸羅剎(Rakshasa,惡鬼)部多(Bhuta,鬼)一切邪異,乃至一切諸惡鬼神所執持,如邪惡所執、天執、龍執、夜叉(Yaksa,一種鬼神)執、乾闥婆(Gandharva,一種天神)執、緊那羅(Kinnara,一種天神)執、頻那夜迦(Vinayaka,像頭神)執、母鬼等執,皆悉消滅。又若有食氣者、食華鬘者、障產生者、食不凈者,皆悉除遣。又若有一切瘧疾,及風、黃、痰癊等諸疾病,亦悉消散。一切鬥戰、諍訟、陣敵,皆悉破壞。我現在為你說此陀羅尼,用作擁護。』陀羅尼曰:

【English Translation】 English version Thus I have heard. At one time, the World-Honored One was in the Amra garden of Magadha (Magadha, one of the sixteen ancient Indian kingdoms), residing in the Indra rock of Vaidehi Mountain.

At that time, Śakra (Śakra, a protector deity in Buddhism), the lord of the gods, came to the Buddha's place and said to the Buddha, 'World-Honored One, I often have fear because the Asuras (Asura, a type of demigod) come to harass me during the long nights. The Asuras are my enemies. I wish that the World-Honored One would explain to me the Dharma method that can protect me.'

At this time, the World-Honored One said to Śakra, the lord of the gods, 'Lord of the gods, I have a Dharani (Dharani, a mnemonic or incantation) called 'Giving All Fearlessness'. This Dharma is good at accomplishing all things, can remove all diseases, and can also restrain all animals. It can untie all bonds of hatred. If there are Asuras and all Rakshasas (Rakshasa, a demon), Bhutas (Bhuta, a ghost), all evil anomalies, and even all evil ghosts and spirits that possess, such as possession by evil, possession by gods, possession by dragons, possession by Yakshas (Yaksa, a type of spirit), possession by Gandharvas (Gandharva, a type of celestial musician), possession by Kinnaras (Kinnara, a type of celestial being), possession by Vinayakas (Vinayaka, a elephant-headed god), possession by mother ghosts, etc., all will be extinguished. Furthermore, if there are those who consume energy, those who consume flower garlands, those who obstruct childbirth, those who consume impurities, all will be expelled. Furthermore, if there are all kinds of malaria, and diseases such as wind, bile, phlegm, etc., all will also be dissipated. All battles, disputes, and enemy formations will all be destroyed. I will now speak this Dharani for you to use as protection.' The Dharani is:

此施一切無畏陀羅尼。若持誦者。當以凈線加持四十一遍繫於頂上。或加持白芥子或加持牛黃。隨諸所用即得成就。

又復若以涂香加持一遍涂自身分。即如被甲冑勇猛無畏。不為刀傷不為毒中。又復不為一日二日乃至七日等諸瘧疾之所纏縛。不為火焚不為水溺。不為咒害不為鬼魅不為病惱。不於一切夭橫中死。

又此陀羅尼善能作諸相應事業。一切成就法皆悉和合。作諸成就事無不成就者。他所作法皆能制止。不為他縛能破邪明自法隨轉。一切魔障皆能除遣。一切執魅悉能解散。若有所執不能除者。頭破作七分如阿梨樹枝。

爾時帝釋天主。聞佛所說踴躍歡喜作禮而去。

而且此陀羅尼善於促成各種相應的事務。一切成就法都能夠和諧統一。做各種成就之事沒有不成就的。他人所作的法術都能制止。不會被他人束縛,能夠破除邪惡的明咒,使自己的法術順利運轉。一切魔障都能夠消除遣散。一切執著的鬼魅都能夠解散。如果有所執著的鬼魅不能夠被消除,(作祟者的)頭就會破裂成七份,像阿梨樹枝一樣。

當時,帝釋天主(Indra,佛教護法神)聽到佛所說,踴躍歡喜,作禮而去。

佛說施一切無畏陀羅尼經

【English Translation】 English version: Nesarupa Naravebhyah (Sanskrit, meaning: to those who give fearlessness), Saparivaram (Sanskrit, meaning: together with the retinue), Kilini Kilini (Sanskrit, mantra, no specific meaning), Sarva sattva hite (Sanskrit, meaning: for the benefit of all beings), Rati (Sanskrit, meaning: delight), Namo sarva buddhanam (Sanskrit, meaning: Homage to all Buddhas), Svaha (Sanskrit, meaning: accomplishment).

This is the 'Giving of All Fearlessness Dharani'. If someone recites this dharani, they should bless a clean thread forty-one times and tie it on the top of their head. Or bless white mustard seeds, or bless cow-gallstone. Depending on what is used, one will attain accomplishment.

Furthermore, if one blesses scented paste once and applies it to oneself, it is as if one is wearing armor, brave and fearless. One will not be wounded by knives, nor poisoned. Nor will one be afflicted by various malarial fevers lasting one day, two days, or even seven days. One will not be burned by fire, nor drowned by water. One will not be harmed by spells, nor disturbed by ghosts, nor troubled by illness. One will not die in any accidental misfortune.

Moreover, this dharani is good at facilitating various corresponding affairs. All methods of accomplishment can be harmoniously unified. There is nothing that cannot be accomplished when doing various things for accomplishment. One can restrain the spells performed by others. One will not be bound by others, and can break evil bright mantras, allowing one's own spells to operate smoothly. All demonic obstacles can be eliminated and dispelled. All clinging ghosts can be dispersed. If there are clinging ghosts that cannot be eliminated, the head (of the perpetrator) will be broken into seven pieces, like the branches of an Ari tree.

At that time, Indra (Lord of the Devas), hearing what the Buddha said, rejoiced and made obeisance before departing.
