佛說大愛陀羅尼經

西天譯經三藏朝散大夫試光祿卿明教大師臣法賢奉　詔譯

如是我聞。一時佛在舍衛國祇樹給孤獨園。時有海神名曰大愛。來詣佛所到佛所已。頭面著地禮佛雙足。卻住一面而白佛言。世尊我有所愿利益眾生。惟佛哀愍許我宣說。

爾時世尊知大愛心有大利益。而告之曰善哉善哉。汝為利益隨汝意說。

爾時大愛蒙佛聽許。而白佛言。我與眷屬住于大海。多見眾生陷於海難。愍念此等欲說陀羅尼。令彼海難無能為害。世尊若有善男子善女人乃至苾芻苾芻尼優婆塞優婆夷等。聞此陀羅尼讀誦受持。及得聞我與眷屬等名者。所有大海一切危難悉皆解脫。爾時大愛承佛威力。即說陀羅尼曰。

怛寧*也他(引一)祖嚕祖嚕(二)吐蘭達哩(引三)摩賀(引)謗哥悉體(二合)帝(引四)酤(引)你瑟哥(二合引)你瑟計(二合五)阿那護(六)拶缽黎(引七)祖嚕祖嚕(八)三滿多跋捺哩(二合引九)阿屹你(二合)作訖哩(二合引十)作訖啰(二合)多朗(十一)補啰擬你(引)娑嚩(二合引)賀(引十二)

爾時大愛海神承佛聖旨。說此陀羅尼已

如是我聞。一時，佛在舍衛國祇樹給孤獨園。當時有一位海神，名叫大愛（Mahā-rāga，偉大的愛），來到佛的住所，到達后，頭面觸地，禮拜佛的雙足，然後退到一旁，對佛說：『世尊，我有一個願望，想要利益眾生，希望佛能慈悲允許我宣說。』

當時，世尊知道大愛心中懷有大利益，便告訴他說：『善哉！善哉！爲了利益眾生，你可以隨你的意願宣說。』

當時，大愛得到佛的允許，便對佛說：『我和我的眷屬居住在大海中，經常看到眾生陷入海難，我憐憫他們，想要宣說一個陀羅尼（dhāraṇī，總持），使他們免受海難的侵害。世尊，如果有善男子、善女人，乃至比丘（bhikṣu，出家男眾）、比丘尼（bhikṣuṇī，出家女眾）、優婆塞（upāsaka，在家男眾）、優婆夷（upāsikā，在家女眾）等，聽聞這個陀羅尼，讀誦、受持，以及聽到我和我的眷屬的名字，所有大海中的一切危難都能夠解脫。』當時，大愛承蒙佛的威力，便說了這個陀羅尼：

The Great Love Dhāraṇī Sūtra Spoken by the Buddha

Translated by Dharma Master Fa Xian, Minister of the Guanglu Court with the title of Grand Master of Mingjiao, and Grand Master of the Three Treasures for Translating Scriptures from the Western Regions, serving in the Imperial Court by Imperial Decree.

Thus have I heard. At one time, the Buddha was in the Jeta Grove of Anāthapiṇḍika (giver of alms to the orphans and the helpless) in Śrāvastī (city in ancient India). At that time, there was a sea god named Mahā-rāga (Great Love). He came to the Buddha's place, and upon arriving, he prostrated himself at the Buddha's feet with his head touching the ground. Then, he stood to one side and said to the Buddha, 'World Honored One, I have a vow to benefit sentient beings. I beseech the Buddha to have compassion and allow me to proclaim it.'

At that time, the World Honored One, knowing that Mahā-rāga had great benefit in his heart, said to him, 'Excellent! Excellent! For the benefit of sentient beings, speak as you wish.'

At that time, Mahā-rāga, having received the Buddha's permission, said to the Buddha, 'I and my retinue dwell in the great ocean. I often see sentient beings trapped in maritime disasters. I pity them and wish to speak a dhāraṇī (mantra) so that they may be free from the harm of maritime disasters. World Honored One, if there are good men, good women, even bhikṣus (monks), bhikṣuṇīs (nuns), upāsakas (laymen), upāsikās (laywomen), etc., who hear this dhāraṇī, recite and uphold it, and hear the names of me and my retinue, all the dangers in the great ocean will be liberated.' At that time, Mahā-rāga, relying on the Buddha's power, then spoke the dhāraṇī:

Tad-yathā (Thus it is) Oṃ (1) zuru zuru (2) turandari (3) mahā (great) bangka-sthite (4) kuṇḍiṣka (5) niṣke (6) anāhuta (7) capale (8) zuru zuru (9) samanta-bhadre (10) agni (fire) chakra (wheel) (11) chakra (wheel) taranga (wave) (12) pūrṇe (full) svāhā (hail!) (13)

At that time, the sea god Mahā-rāga, having received the Buddha's sacred decree, spoke this dhāraṇī.

。歡喜踴躍禮佛而退。
