如是我聞。一時佛在蘇珂嚩帝佛剎。與諸大菩薩並部多眾俱。爾時觀自在菩薩摩訶薩。來詣佛所到已頭面禮足於一面坐。復有菩薩摩訶薩名大吉祥。亦詣佛所到已繞佛三匝。頭面禮足卻坐一面。

爾時世尊見大吉祥菩薩已。告觀自在菩薩言。此大吉祥菩薩有陀羅尼。若閻浮提濁惡世中。有比丘比丘尼優婆塞優婆夷等。見聞隨喜讀誦受持。信解此法思惟記念。是貧苦者獲大富貴。乃至部多普令愛敬。如是功德不可具說。時觀自在菩薩聞佛語已。歡喜踴躍即從座起。合掌白佛言。世尊我今樂聞。唯愿世尊為我宣說。

爾時世尊即說大吉祥陀羅尼曰。

怛寧*也他(引一)洛叱彌(二合二)室哩(二合)缽捺彌(二合)嚩呬抳(引三)馱曩(引)提缽底(引四)藕哩(引五)摩賀(引)野舍(引六)缽捺摩(二合)你怛哩(二合七)摩賀(引)你喻(二合)底(八)案曩那(引)曳(九)啰怛曩(二合)缽啰(二合)婆摩賀(引)室哩(二合十)婆野替(引)那(十一)屹哩(二合)你屹哩

爾時世尊見大吉祥菩薩已。告觀自在菩薩言。此大吉祥菩薩有陀羅尼。若閻浮提（Jambudvīpa，我們所居住的這個世界）濁惡世中。有比丘、比丘尼、優婆塞、優婆夷等。見聞隨喜讀誦受持。信解此法思惟記念。是貧苦者獲大富貴。乃至部多普令愛敬。如是功德不可具說。時觀自在菩薩聞佛語已。歡喜踴躍即從座起。合掌白佛言。世尊我今樂聞。唯愿世尊為我宣說。

The Great Auspicious Dhāraṇī Sūtra Spoken by the Buddha

Translated by Dharma賢 (Fǎxián), Great Master Mingjiao, Minister of the Guanglu Court, Trial Attendant of the Imperial Secretariat, Tripitaka Master of Western India, under Imperial Decree

Thus have I heard. At one time, the Buddha was in the Buddha-field of Sukhāvatī (the Pure Land of Amitābha). He was with many great Bodhisattvas and a multitude of bhūtas (spirits). At that time, the Bodhisattva Mahāsattva Avalokiteśvara (Guānzìzài Púsà) came to the Buddha's place, bowed his head to the Buddha's feet, and sat to one side. Again, there was a Bodhisattva Mahāsattva named Great Auspiciousness (Mahāmaṅgala), who also came to the Buddha's place, circumambulated the Buddha three times, bowed his head to the Buddha's feet, and sat to one side.

At that time, the World-Honored One, having seen the Bodhisattva Great Auspiciousness, said to the Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara: 'This Bodhisattva Great Auspiciousness has a dhāraṇī. If, in the turbid and evil world of Jambudvīpa (the continent where we live), there are bhikṣus, bhikṣuṇīs, upāsakas, upāsikās, etc., who see, hear, rejoice, read, recite, receive, uphold, believe, understand this Dharma, contemplate and remember it, those who are poor and suffering will obtain great wealth and nobility, and even the bhūtas will universally love and respect them. Such merits cannot be fully described.' At that time, the Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara, having heard the Buddha's words, rejoiced and leapt up, and immediately rose from his seat, joined his palms, and said to the Buddha: 'World-Honored One, I now delight to hear it. I wish that the World-Honored One would proclaim it for me.'

At that time, the World-Honored One then spoke the Great Auspicious Dhāraṇī, saying:

Tadyathā: Rakṣami śrī padmī vāhiṇi dhana-pati oghri mahā-yaśa padma-nikari mahā-niyuti ānana-ye ratna-prabha mahā-śrī bhaya-tinā ghṛṇi ghṛṇi

(二合)你(十二)薩哩嚩(二合)遏迦哩也(二合)爍彌(引十三)提你提你(十四)悉悉悉悉(十五)你底你底(十六)呬你呬你(十七)阿洛叉彌(二合十八)彌曩舍野(十九)薩嚩洛叉彌(二合)彌娑𠆙(切身引)那野莎(引)賀(二十)曩莫薩哩嚩(二合)沒馱(二十一)冒提薩怛吠(二合引)毗野(二合)莎(引)賀(引二十二)

爾時世尊說是經已。觀自在菩薩大吉祥菩薩。並諸菩薩及部多眾。聞佛所說皆大歡喜信受奉行。

爾時，世尊說完這部經后，觀自在菩薩（Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva）、大吉祥菩薩（Mahāśrī Bodhisattva），以及諸位菩薩和部多眾（bhūta，鬼神等），聽聞佛所說后，都非常歡喜，信受奉行。

【English Translation】 English version: (Dvi-yukta) Ni (12) Sarva (dvi-yukta) Akarya (dvi-yukta) Śami (long vowel 13) Te ni te ni (14) Si si si si (15) Ni ti ni ti (16) Hi ni hi ni (17) Araksha mi (dvi-yukta 18) Me nasaya (19) Sarva raksha mi (dvi-yukta) Me sadhaya svaha (long vowel 20) Namo sarva (dvi-yukta) Buddha (21) Bodhisattvebhyah (dvi-yukta long vowel) Svaha (long vowel 22).

At that time, after the World Honored One finished speaking this sutra, Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva (Guanyin Bodhisattva), Mahāśrī Bodhisattva (Great Auspicious Bodhisattva), along with all the Bodhisattvas and the multitude of bhūtas (spirits, etc.), having heard what the Buddha said, were all greatly delighted, believed, accepted, and practiced it accordingly.
