如是我聞。一時薄伽梵。在凈居天上。為諸大眾說微妙法。是時曼殊室利菩薩摩訶薩于大眾中。即從座起偏露右肩。右膝著地合掌向佛。瞻仰尊容目未曾舍。白佛言世尊。此大法門甚深微妙實為希有。然于當來五濁世時。惡業眾生具貪恚癡。欺誑不信樂行非法。不修戒品專行諂偽。彼于咒法所有威力神通變現。于諸國土隨其方處。求者獲益功德成就。唸誦儀軌祭祠法式。皆不信受亦不依行。謂非佛說而為謗毀惡障纏心。即便命過墮大地獄。受極苦惱無有出期。世尊此等眾生既遭大苦云何救護。唯愿慈悲拔濟令出。爾時釋迦牟尼如來。即便舒手摩曼殊室利法王子頂。告言善哉曼殊室利。為欲利益一切有情。能問如來如是義利。汝當諦聽極善作意。我今為汝說此咒法。安樂人天利益一切。于諸咒法最為殊勝。秘密甚深順菩提道依真法界獲大功德。于臨終時必能憶此大力咒王。正念現前當生善處。即說咒曰。
南么薩婆怛他揭羝驃 阿羅𠿒驃 唵拘摩啰乎嚧比那 毗輸和 三婆婆阿揭車阿揭車 洛呼洛呼 勃纜勃攬 唅唅 氏那市(市一反)曼殊室

如是我聞。一時,薄伽梵(Bhagavan,世尊)在凈居天上,為諸大眾宣說微妙之法。當時,曼殊室利菩薩摩訶薩(Manjusri Bodhisattva-Mahasattva,文殊師利大菩薩)于大眾之中,即從座位起身,袒露右肩,右膝著地,合掌向佛,瞻仰佛的尊容,眼睛未曾離開。向佛稟告說:『世尊,此大法門甚深微妙,實為稀有。然而在將來的五濁惡世之時,作惡的眾生充滿貪婪、嗔恨、愚癡,欺騙、誆妄、不信奉正法,喜好行非法之事,不修持戒律,專門行諂媚虛偽之事。他們對於咒法的威力、神通變現,在各個國土,隨著所處的方位,求取利益、功德成就,唸誦儀軌、祭祀法式,都不信受,也不依此奉行,認為不是佛所說,從而進行誹謗詆譭,被惡業障礙纏繞內心,即便命終之後墮入大地獄,遭受極大的苦惱,沒有脫離之期。世尊,這些眾生既然遭受如此大的痛苦,要如何救護?唯愿您慈悲救濟,令他們脫離苦海。』 當時,釋迦牟尼如來(Sakyamuni Tathagata)便伸出手,摩曼殊室利法王子(Manjusri Dharma Prince,文殊法王子)的頭頂,告訴他說:『善哉,曼殊室利!爲了利益一切有情眾生,能夠向如來詢問這樣的義理。你應當仔細聽,極善作意,我現在為你宣說此咒法,使人天安樂,利益一切眾生。此咒法在各種咒法中最為殊勝,秘密甚深,順應菩提之道,依靠真實法界,獲得巨大功德。在臨終之時,必定能夠憶起此大力咒王,正念現前,當生於善處。』 即說咒曰:
南么薩婆怛他揭羝驃(namo sarva tathagatebhyah,皈命一切如來) 阿羅𠿒驃(arhatebhyah,皈命一切阿羅漢) 唵(om) 拘摩啰乎嚧比那(kumara hulu bina) 毗輸和(visva) 三婆婆阿揭車阿揭車(sambhava agaccha agaccha) 洛呼洛呼(rahu rahu) 勃纜勃攬(bhram bhram) 唅唅(ham ham) 氏那市(sina si) 曼殊室(manjusri)
【English Translation】 English version The Sutra of the Buddha Speaking the Dhāraṇī King for Uprooting Sins and Obstacles
Translated under Imperial Order by the Tang Dynasty Tripiṭaka Master Yijing
Thus have I heard. At one time, the Bhagavan (Bhagavan, the World-Honored One) was in the Heaven of Pure Abode, expounding the subtle Dharma for the great assembly. At that time, Manjusri Bodhisattva-Mahasattva (Manjusri Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, Great Bodhisattva Manjusri), in the midst of the assembly, immediately rose from his seat, bared his right shoulder, knelt on his right knee, joined his palms towards the Buddha, gazing upon the Buddha's venerable countenance, his eyes never leaving. He said to the Buddha, 'World-Honored One, this great Dharma gate is extremely profound and subtle, truly rare. However, in the future age of the Five Turbidities, sentient beings filled with evil karma will be full of greed, hatred, and delusion, deceiving, lying, not believing in the Dharma, delighting in performing unlawful deeds, not cultivating precepts, and specializing in flattery and falsehood. Regarding the power of dhāraṇīs, miraculous transformations, in various lands, according to their locations, seeking benefits, accomplishment of merit, recitation rituals, and sacrificial rites, they will not believe or follow them, claiming they are not spoken by the Buddha, thereby slandering and defaming, with evil obstacles entangling their minds, and upon death, they will fall into the great hells, suffering extreme torment without any hope of release. World-Honored One, since these beings suffer such great pain, how can they be saved? May your compassion rescue them and lead them out of suffering.' At that time, Sakyamuni Tathagata (Sakyamuni Tathagata) then extended his hand and stroked the crown of Manjusri Dharma Prince (Manjusri Dharma Prince), saying, 'Excellent, Manjusri! For the sake of benefiting all sentient beings, you are able to ask the Tathagata about such meaning and benefit. You should listen carefully and pay close attention. I will now speak this dhāraṇī for you, bringing peace and happiness to humans and devas, benefiting all beings. This dhāraṇī is the most supreme among all dhāraṇīs, deeply secret, in accordance with the path to Bodhi, relying on the true Dharma realm, obtaining great merit. At the time of death, one will surely be able to remember this powerful Dhāraṇī King, with right mindfulness present, and be born in a good place.' Then He spoke the dhāraṇī:
Namo sarva tathagatebhyah (namo sarva tathagatebhyah, Homage to all Tathagatas) arhatebhyah (arhatebhyah, Homage to all Arhats) om (om) kumara hulu bina visva (kumara hulu bina visva) sambhava agaccha agaccha (sambhava agaccha agaccha) rahu rahu (rahu rahu) bhram bhram (bhram bhram) ham ham (ham ham) sina si (sina si) Manjusri (Manjusri)
利也 蘇室哩也 多賴也漫(引聲)薩婆毒溪驃癹癹 苫么也苫么也 阿弭都嗢婆菩嗢婆婆 波跛謎那勢也 莎訶
曼殊室利。此即是汝最勝根本咒藏心王神咒。能除一切苦惱厄難。諸惡罪障悉皆銷滅。長壽無疾富樂無窮。言詞聰辯眾人愛敬。亦能通利一切咒王。時釋迦牟尼如來說是語時。諸佛剎土及此大地山河江海。盡有情界六種震動。一切惡趣餓鬼傍生。琰魔王界地獄有情。苦惱停息皆得安樂。佛復告曼殊室利。若天若人若男若女。在家出家諸有情類。若能至心受持此咒王者。不被惡人之所欺謗魔不得便。怨不能害毒不能傷。一切障礙毗那夜迦皆自退散。其受持者應起此心。諸佛世尊難思議法。唯佛與佛乃能證知。我今豈敢輒生誹謗。
爾時世尊說此法已。彼諸大眾並凈居天。及余諸天無量百千俱胝。天龍藥叉健達婆阿蘇羅等。禁咒成就諸大仙人。及曼殊室利法王子。觀自在菩薩慈氏菩薩。大勢至菩薩執金剛菩薩。如是等諸大菩薩。及阿僧祇世界諸佛剎土。一切如來並諸菩薩當共證知。此大咒王是不思議法。是大神咒是大明咒。是無上咒是無等等咒。能除罪苦障真實不虛。爾時諸天大眾聞說咒王。皆大歡喜頂戴奉持。

曼殊室利(文殊菩薩)。這便是你最殊勝的根本咒藏心王神咒。能消除一切苦惱厄難,各種惡業罪障全部消滅。使人長壽無病,富裕快樂無窮。使人言辭聰慧善辯,受眾人愛戴敬仰。也能通達順利地運用一切咒王。當時釋迦牟尼如來說這些話的時候,所有佛的剎土以及這大地山河江海,所有有情眾生都發生了六種震動。一切惡趣、餓鬼、傍生(畜生),閻魔王界、地獄的有情眾生,他們的苦惱都停止了,都得到了安樂。佛又告訴曼殊室利,無論是天人、人,男人、女人,在家、出家的所有有情眾生,如果能至誠懇切地受持這個咒王,就不會被惡人欺騙誹謗,魔不能得其方便,怨家不能加害,毒藥不能傷害。一切障礙和毗那夜迦(障礙神)都會自行退散。受持此咒的人應該生起這樣的心念:諸佛世尊所證得的難以思議的佛法,只有佛與佛才能證悟瞭解。我如今怎麼敢輕易地產生誹謗之心呢?
當時世尊說完此法之後,那些大眾以及凈居天,和其餘諸天無量百千俱胝,天龍、藥叉(夜叉)、健達婆(乾闥婆)、阿蘇羅(阿修羅)等,禁咒成就的各位大仙人,以及曼殊室利(文殊菩薩)法王子,觀自在菩薩(觀音菩薩),慈氏菩薩(彌勒菩薩),大勢至菩薩,執金剛菩薩,像這樣的各位大菩薩,以及阿僧祇世界諸佛剎土的一切如來和各位菩薩,都應當共同證明知曉,這個大咒王是不可思議的佛法,是大神咒,是大明咒,是無上咒,是無等等咒,能消除罪苦業障,真實不虛。當時諸天大眾聽聞宣說咒王,都非常歡喜,頂戴奉持。

【English Translation】 English version Li ye Su shi li ye Duo lai ye man (elongated sound) Sa po du xi piao fa fa Shan mo ye shan mo ye A mi du wu po pu wu po po Bo po mi na shi ye Suo he
Manjushri (Manjushri Bodhisattva). This is your most supreme fundamental mantra treasury, the heart king divine mantra. It can eliminate all suffering and calamities, and all evil karmic obstacles will be extinguished. It brings longevity, freedom from illness, and endless wealth and happiness. It makes one eloquent and wise, loved and respected by all. It can also facilitate the mastery of all mantra kings. At that time, when Shakyamuni Tathagata spoke these words, all Buddha lands and this great earth, mountains, rivers, and seas, and all sentient beings experienced six kinds of vibrations. All beings in the evil realms, hungry ghosts, animals, the realm of Yama (King of the Underworld), and hell, their suffering ceased, and they all attained peace and happiness. The Buddha further told Manjushri, whether they are gods, humans, men, women, laypeople, or monastics, all sentient beings, if they can sincerely uphold this mantra king, they will not be deceived or slandered by evil people, demons will not find an opportunity, enemies cannot harm them, and poison cannot injure them. All obstacles and Vinayakas (obstacle-creating deities) will retreat on their own. Those who uphold this mantra should generate this thought: the inconceivable Dharma realized by the Buddhas, World Honored Ones, can only be known and understood by Buddhas themselves. How dare I rashly give rise to slanderous thoughts?
At that time, after the World Honored One finished speaking this Dharma, those assemblies, along with the Pure Abode Heavens, and countless hundreds of thousands of kotis of other heavens, including nagas (dragons), yakshas (night demons), gandharvas (celestial musicians), asuras (demigods), and other great immortals who had achieved mastery of mantras, as well as Manjushri (Manjushri Bodhisattva), the Dharma Prince, Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva (Guan Yin Bodhisattva), Maitreya Bodhisattva (Future Buddha), Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva, Vajrapani Bodhisattva, and other great Bodhisattvas, and all the Tathagatas and Bodhisattvas in the asankhya worlds of Buddha lands, should all jointly acknowledge and know that this great mantra king is an inconceivable Dharma, it is a great divine mantra, it is a great bright mantra, it is an unsurpassed mantra, it is an unequaled mantra, it can eliminate the suffering of sins and karmic obstacles, it is true and not false. At that time, all the heavenly assemblies, upon hearing the mantra king being proclaimed, were all greatly delighted and respectfully upheld it.
