如是我聞。一時佛在舍衛國精舍之中。爾時世尊告尊者阿難陀言。汝今諦聽有消除一切閃電障難隨求如意陀羅尼經。過去如來無上正等正覺之所宣說。如我今者恒常悲慜。為欲利益天上人間一切群生得安樂故。亦復宣說。
阿難陀言如是世尊愿樂欲聞。
世尊告言。阿難陀東方有電名阿伽曩(宋言無厚)南方有電名舍多嚕(宋言順流)西方有電名放光明。北方有電名燥那麼尼(宋言百生樹)。阿難陀若有族姓男族姓女。知此明名號之者。彼所住方無此一切雷電驚怖。若所住處有如是閃電。但書此真言安置彼處一切閃電而不能發。
爾時世尊即說此捺啰(二合)弭拏真言章句曰。

如是我聞。一時，佛在舍衛（Śrāvastī）國精舍之中。爾時，世尊告尊者阿難陀（Ānanda）言：『汝今諦聽，有消除一切閃電障難隨求如意陀羅尼經，過去如來無上正等正覺之所宣說。如我今者恒常悲憫，為欲利益天上人間一切群生得安樂故，亦復宣說。』
阿難陀言：『如是，世尊，愿樂欲聞。』
世尊告言：『阿難陀，東方有電名阿伽曩（Āgaṇa）（宋言無厚），南方有電名舍多嚕（Śataru）（宋言順流），西方有電名放光明，北方有電名燥那麼尼（Śyāma-tāmanī）（宋言百生樹）。阿難陀，若有族姓男族姓女，知此明名號之者，彼所住方無此一切雷電驚怖。若所住處有如是閃電，但書此真言安置彼處，一切閃電而不能發。』
爾時，世尊即說此捺啰（Nāḍa）弭拏（miṇa）真言章句曰：
『怛你也（tadyathā）（二合）他（tā，去引一），你彌你泯達㘑（nime niminda re）（二），怛哩（tri）（二合）路（lo，去引）迦（ka，去引）路（lo，去引）枳你（kini）（三），戌（śu，上）攞播（pā，上引）抳（ṇi，上）你（四），啰乞叉（rakṣa）（二合）啰乞叉（rakṣa）（二合）𤚥（māṃ，牟含反，稱名五），薩嚩尾你庾（sarva-vidyut）（二合）那婆（nabha）（二合）曳毗藥（ebhyaḥ）（二合六），娑嚩（svā，二合引）賀（hā，引七）。』

The Dhāraṇī of Spontaneously Fulfilling Wishes for Eliminating All Lightning Obstacles
Translated by the Tripiṭaka Master Śīlahhrakṣa, a purple-robed Śrāmaṇa, from the Diśā Palace Temple in the country of Uddiyana in Northern India, under imperial decree.
Thus have I heard. At one time, the Buddha was in the Jeta Grove in the country of Śrāvastī. At that time, the World-Honored One said to the Venerable Ānanda: 『Listen attentively, for there is a Dhāraṇī of Spontaneously Fulfilling Wishes for Eliminating All Lightning Obstacles, which was proclaimed by the Tathāgatas of the past, the Unsurpassed Perfectly Enlightened Ones. As I am now constantly compassionate, for the sake of benefiting all sentient beings in heaven and on earth and enabling them to attain happiness, I will also proclaim it.』
Ānanda said: 『So be it, World-Honored One, I would be delighted to hear it.』
The World-Honored One said: 『Ānanda, in the east there is lightning named Āgaṇa (meaning 'without thickness'), in the south there is lightning named Śataru (meaning 'following the stream'), in the west there is lightning named 'emitting light', and in the north there is lightning named Śyāma-tāmanī (meaning 'hundred-birth tree'). Ānanda, if there are men and women of good families who know the names of these mantras, there will be no fear of thunder and lightning in the direction where they live. If there is such lightning in the place where they live, simply write this mantra and place it there, and all lightning will be unable to strike.』
At that time, the World-Honored One then spoke this Nāḍa-miṇa mantra chapter and verse, saying:
『Tadyathā, nime niminda re, tri-loka-lokini, śu-la-pāṇini, rakṣa rakṣa māṃ, sarva-vidyut-nabha-ebhyaḥ, svāhā.』

爾時聖觀自在菩薩摩訶薩。與自眾等皆來集會一面而坐。時觀自在菩薩即從坐起。白言世尊我亦說此正法。

【English Translation】 English version: At that time, the Holy Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva Mahāsattva (महान् बोधिसत्त्व, the great compassionate Bodhisattva) and his retinue all came before the Buddha and sat on one side. Then, Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva (अवलोकितेश्वर, another name for Guanshiyin Bodhisattva) rose from his seat and said to the World-Honored One, 'World-Honored One, I will also speak this true Dharma.'
The verses of the Nāradamiṇa mantra are:
'Tadyathā vināśa pratītya rti ke pratītya mitre mathe mukte vima le prabhāsa kare aṇare paṇare śvete paṇḍaravāsini māti karāla kapila piṅgala kṣaṇadhi mukṣi rakṣa rakṣa mām sarva kāla mṛtyu bhayebhyaḥ mā me paśyaṃtu sarva kāla mṛtyāya ārya avalokiteśvara teja svāhā'
At that time, Vajrapāṇi, the Lord of Secrets, with his palms together, respectfully said to the World-Honored One, 'I will also speak the verses of this true Dharma dhāraṇī mantra.'

World Honored One, this chapter and verse is named 'Invincible'. If there are those who remember, uphold, write, and make offerings to it, I will always protect them from all fears, and they will be liberated from all untimely deaths.
At that time, the Great Brahma King, lord of the Saha world, said to the World Honored One: 'World Honored One, I also speak this true word chapter and verse of the Correct Dharma Dharani, for the sake of benefiting and bringing peace and happiness to all sentient beings.' Then he spoke the Dharani, saying:

【English Translation】 English version: Oṃ vāki śavari śavari svāhā
World Honored One, this bright mantra of mine is called the Vajra Seat. All fears and premature deaths will be without obstacles and completely liberated.
At that time, Dhṛtarāṣṭra (持國天王, Guardian of the East), Virūḍhaka (增長天王, Guardian of the South), Virūpākṣa (廣目天王, Guardian of the West), and Vaiśravaṇa (多聞天王, Guardian of the North), pressed their palms together and said to the Buddha, 'World Honored One, we will also recite this chapter and verses of the Right Dharma Dhāraṇī:'
Tadyathā puṣpe supuṣpe dhūpa parihāre ārya praśaste śānti nirmukte mānagale he ruṇḍhaniye mānabhe stutini satva vinī svāhā
World Honored One, the true words and verses spoken by us, the Four Great Kings, are called 'Fearless.' They provide protection from all fears, ensuring that all beings live out their full lifespan without premature death.
At that time, Sāgararāja (娑誐嚕龍王, Ocean Dragon King), Manasvin rāja (么曩悉吠龍王, Mindful Dragon King), Vidyutprabha rāja (電光龍王, Lightning Light Dragon King), Anavatapta rāja (無熱惱池龍王, Dragon King of Lake Anavatapta), Vidyujjihva rāja (電舌龍王, Lightning Tongue Dragon King), Śatarashmi rāja (百光龍王, Hundred Ray Dragon King), and others, also stood respectfully before the World Honored One with palms pressed together.
The World Honored One told them, 'Wherever this wish-fulfilling verse exists, it can protect against all lightning obstacles, rescue from all premature deaths, and eliminate all poisons. It can also destroy all Kaṭhakanās (羯祛那) and Vetālas (吠哆拏), as well as those who perform inauspicious deeds. Listen carefully and generate a compassionate heart. Among your dragon clans, each of you generates anger, arrogance, and pride, which should be subdued.' The dragons replied, 'How should we subdue them?' The World Honored One answered, 'I have a Dhāraṇī that can stop the arrogance and pride in the hearts of you dragons.' The mantra is:

爾時大梵天王及天帝釋。護世四王諸龍王等。贊言善哉善哉賢者。為欲利益安樂多數諸群生故。善說此正法捺啰(二合)彌拏真言章句。我等一心受持。佛說此經時。一切世間天人阿蘇𠸪犍闥婆等及諸大眾。聞佛所說歡喜奉行。

當時大梵天王及天帝釋（Dì shì，佛教的護法神），護世四王（Hù shì sì wáng，佛教的護法神）諸龍王等，讚歎說：『善哉！善哉！賢者，爲了利益安樂多數的眾生，善說此正法捺啰彌拏（nà là mí ná）真言章句，我等一心受持。』佛說此經時，一切世間的天人（tiān rén，天神和人類）、阿蘇𠸪（ā sū luó，又譯阿修羅，一種非天、似天而又非人的大力神）、犍闥婆（qián tà pó，又譯乾闥婆，天界的樂神）等及諸大眾，聽聞佛所說，歡喜奉行。

【English Translation】 English version A ra le (ā rě liè) mama le (mó mó liè) amrita te (ā mì lì dì) akshaye (ā qǐ chā yè) aviyaye (ā wěi yě yè) punya pari yaye (bēn nǐ yě bǒ lǐ yě yè) sarva papa (sà pó bō bǒ) prashamani svaha (bō là shě me nǐ suō pó hē) arya pani (ā lī yě bàn ná) sopaki ye svaha (zào bō zhī yè suō pó hē) indra shani ye svaha (yìn nà là shè níng yè suō pó hē) megha shani svaha (míng qié shè níng suō pó hē).
The World Honored One said, 'If there are men and women who receive, uphold, read, recite, write, and make offerings to these true words and phrases, then the fears of those dragon gods, lightning, etc., will not be able to harm them. There will also be no root poisons or combined poisons. All manufactured poisons will not be able to harm us and all sentient beings.'
At that time, the Great Brahma King and Sakra, Lord of the Devas (Dì shì, a Dharma protector in Buddhism), the Four Guardian Kings (Hù shì sì wáng, the Four Heavenly Kings, protectors of the world in Buddhism), the Dragon Kings, and others praised, saying, 'Excellent! Excellent! Wise one, for the sake of benefiting and bringing happiness to the majority of sentient beings, you have well spoken this righteous Dharma, the Narayana (nà là mí ná) true words and phrases. We will wholeheartedly receive and uphold them.' When the Buddha spoke this sutra, all the gods and humans (tiān rén, deities and humans), Asuras (ā sū luó, a type of powerful demigod), Gandharvas (qián tà pó, celestial musicians), and other great assemblies in the entire world, hearing what the Buddha said, rejoiced and practiced accordingly.
