佛說息除賊難陀羅尼經

西天譯經三藏朝散大夫試光祿卿明教大師臣法賢奉　詔譯

如是我聞。一時佛在摩伽陀國。與諸大眾圍繞經行。到于菴羅樹園側韋提呬山帝釋巖中。時尊者阿難。忽見大惡賊眾遙遠而來。見已生大恐怖。心懷憂惱身毛皆豎。時尊者阿難疾往佛所。到已合掌而白佛言。世尊我今遙見有大惡賊。唯愿世尊為作救護。

爾時世尊聞尊者阿難言已。告阿難言汝怖賊耶。阿難白佛言甚怖世尊。佛言阿難汝勿得怖。我有陀羅尼能除賊難。是時尊者阿難聞佛語已心生歡喜。作如是言唯愿世尊為我宣說。

爾時世尊即說大輪結界陀羅尼曰。

怛寧*也他(一)阿焬路哥(二)缽啰路計(三)伊該阿提缽底(四)藕(引)哩巘馱(引)哩(五)贊拏哩(六)摩登擬(七)惹虞哩(八)補哥細(九)

爾時世尊說是陀羅尼已。告尊者阿難汝今可往。以此陀羅尼。面十二由旬當作結界。令得安隱息除賊難。乃至刀劍器杖等悉不能侵。又復能令彼諸惡賊。不離本處旋如陶家輪。又復阿難若人遇賊難時。當用凈白線。以此陀羅尼加持七遍。結作七結過難即解。

【English Translation】 English version Thus I have heard. At one time, the Buddha was in the Magadha (ancient Indian kingdom) country, surrounded by a large assembly, walking around. They arrived at the Indra's Rock (Indra's Rock) in the Vaidehi Mountain (Vaidehi Mountain) beside the Amra tree garden (Amra tree garden). At that time, Venerable Ananda (Ananda, one of the ten great disciples of the Buddha) suddenly saw a large group of fierce thieves coming from afar. Upon seeing them, he felt great fear, his heart filled with worry and distress, and the hairs on his body stood on end. Venerable Ananda quickly went to the Buddha's place, and upon arriving, he joined his palms and said to the Buddha: 'World Honored One, today I see a large group of fierce thieves from afar. I only wish that the World Honored One would protect me.' At this time, the World Honored One, having heard the words of Venerable Ananda, said to Ananda: 'Are you afraid of thieves?' Ananda replied to the Buddha: 'I am very afraid, World Honored One.' The Buddha said: 'Ananda, you must not be afraid. I have a dharani (dharani, a type of mantra or incantation) that can eliminate the calamity of thieves.' At that time, Venerable Ananda, having heard the Buddha's words, felt joy in his heart and said: 'I only wish that the World Honored One would proclaim it for me.' At this time, the World Honored One then spoke the Great Wheel Boundary Dharani, the mantra being: 'Tad-ni-tha a-wei-lu-jia ba-la-lu-ji yi-gai a-ti-ba-di ou-li-jian-tuo-li zan-na-li mo-deng-ni re-ju-li bu-ge-xi' At this time, the World Honored One, having finished speaking this dharani, said to Venerable Ananda: 'You may now go and use this dharani to establish a boundary facing twelve Yojana (Yojana, an ancient Indian unit of distance) in extent, so that it may be secure and eliminate the calamity of thieves, and even swords and weapons will not be able to invade. Furthermore, it can cause those fierce thieves to not leave their original place, spinning like a potter's wheel.' The Buddha further said: 'Ananda, if someone encounters the calamity of thieves, they should use a clean white thread, empower it seven times with this dharani, tie seven knots, and the calamity will immediately be resolved.'

所有賊眾皆如禁縛不能為難。

爾時世尊說是經已。尊者阿難及諸大眾。聞佛所說皆大歡喜信受奉行。

佛說息除賊難陀羅尼經

【現代漢語翻譯】現代漢語譯本：所有的盜賊團伙都會像被禁錮捆綁一樣，無法制造禍患。

【English Translation】 English version: All groups of thieves will be as if restrained and bound, unable to cause trouble.

At that time, after the World Honored One finished speaking this Sutra, the Venerable Ananda and all the assembly, hearing what the Buddha had said, were all greatly rejoiced, believed, and practiced accordingly.
