如是我聞。一時佛在波啰缽多國星左大城虞彌曩精舍。過是夏已至九月二十日。有一苾芻名嚩野佉曩。時彼苾芻出星左大城。往支那城相去四由旬。于其路中見一大人。身長三丈面長四尺。知是文殊師利菩薩即時禮足長跪合掌白菩薩言。云何現身而來至此。必有因緣。菩薩答言如是如是。苾芻此閻浮提內諸眾生等。當有病苦。阿修羅迦樓羅等住須彌山王一面。與諸天人互相交戰。是故虛空中日月無光星辰不現。天人敗已修羅獲勝。時諸鬼神因斯得便。化女人形惱亂眾生生諸疾病。或頭痛腹痛眼耳鼻痛。或生癰癤瘰疬痔漏疥癩瘡癬。或復瘧病。其瘧發時或隔一日二日三日四日。乃至風癀痰癊一切惡病。又閻浮提內降大風雨。或寒或熱或澇或旱。五穀不豐人民饑儉悉皆中夭。復現虎狼師子藐拏等獸。侵損有情奪人精氣。如是眾難競來逼惱。
爾時大人說是事已告苾芻言。我有聖最勝陀羅尼。增長善根能除諸惡。若復有人發清凈心。以香華等供養三寶及諸賢聖。於七晝夜潔凈齋戒誦此陀羅尼是諸眾難即得消除。陀羅尼曰。

The Holy Supreme Victory Dharani Sutra Spoken by the Buddha
Translated by the Tripitaka Master Shi Hu (Shi Hu), Grand Master of the Court of Imperial Sacrifices and Minister of the Honglu Temple, by Imperial Decree.
Thus have I heard. At one time, the Buddha was in the Yuminang (Yuminang) Vihara in the great city of Xingzuo (Xingzuo) in the country of Polapata (Polapata). After the summer retreat, on the twentieth day of the ninth month, there was a Bhikshu (Bichu, monk) named Yeyeqian (Yeyeqian). At that time, this Bhikshu left the great city of Xingzuo and went to the city of Zhinacheng (Zhinacheng), a distance of four yojanas (youxun, an ancient Indian unit of distance). On the way, he saw a great man, three zhang (zhang, a Chinese unit of length) tall and with a face four chi (chi, a Chinese unit of length) long. Knowing that this was Manjushri Bodhisattva (Manjushri Bodhisattva), he immediately prostrated at his feet, knelt with palms together, and said to the Bodhisattva, 'Why have you manifested yourself here? There must be a cause.' The Bodhisattva replied, 'It is as you say. Bhikshu, the sentient beings within this Jambudvipa (Yanfuti, a Buddhist term referring to the world we live in) will suffer from illness. Asuras (Asura), Garudas (Garuda), and others dwell on one side of Mount Sumeru (Mount Sumeru), fighting with the devas (deva) and humans. Therefore, the sun and moon in the sky are without light, and the stars do not appear. The devas are defeated, and the Asuras are victorious. At this time, various ghosts and spirits take advantage of this, transforming into female forms, disturbing sentient beings, causing them to suffer from various diseases. Or headaches, abdominal pains, eye, ear, and nose pains, or boils, scrofula, hemorrhoids, fistulas, scabies, leprosy, sores, and ringworm, or malaria. When malaria occurs, it may be every one, two, three, or four days, and even all kinds of evil diseases such as wind disorders, phlegm accumulation, and hidden illnesses. Moreover, great winds and rains fall within Jambudvipa, or it is cold, or it is hot, or there are floods, or there are droughts, the five grains are not abundant, the people are hungry and poor, and most die young. Also, tigers, wolves, lions, Miaona (Miaona) and other beasts appear, harming sentient beings and stealing people's vital energy. Such calamities come to oppress and disturb.'
At that time, after the great man spoke these things, he told the Bhikshu, 'I have the Arya-uttamajaya-dharani (Arya-uttamajaya-dharani), which can increase good roots and eliminate all evils. If someone generates a pure mind, makes offerings of incense, flowers, and so on to the Triple Gem (Triratna, Buddha, Dharma, Sangha) and all the sages, and observes a clean fast for seven days and nights, reciting this dharani, these calamities will be immediately eliminated.' The dharani is as follows:

身病苦速得除愈。若讀兩遍。妻子男女所有病苦悉得除愈。若讀三遍。一切眷屬所有病苦悉得除愈。若讀四遍。一國人民所有病苦悉得除愈。若讀五遍。王之封境諸小國土一切人民。皆獲安樂無諸疾病。
複次文殊師利菩薩言。今此正法利益廣大甚為希有。速為流傳令諸有情獲上功德。若於此經心生輕慢。不為受持讀誦。不為人演說流傳。國界之內一切眾生。如不得聽聞者。彼人獲過如五逆罪。是故苾芻于聖最勝陀羅尼。信敬受持無令忘失。彼須彌山王一面住者。天及阿修羅乾闥婆等。我自調伏使閻浮提眾生獲大安樂。時文殊師利說是法已忽然不現。嚩野佉曩苾芻聞其所說。心大歡喜信受奉行。

【現代漢語翻譯】 現代漢語譯本: 身患疾病的痛苦可以迅速痊癒。如果誦讀兩遍,妻子兒女所有的病痛都能痊癒。如果誦讀三遍,所有親屬的病痛都能痊癒。如果誦讀四遍,一個國家的人民所有的病痛都能痊癒。如果誦讀五遍,國王統治的疆域內所有小國的百姓,都能獲得安樂,沒有各種疾病。

【English Translation】 English version: The suffering from physical illness can be quickly cured. If recited twice, all the illnesses of one's wife and children can be cured. If recited three times, all the illnesses of all relatives can be cured. If recited four times, all the illnesses of the people of an entire country can be cured. If recited five times, all the people in the small countries within the king's territory will obtain peace and happiness, free from all diseases.
Furthermore, Manjusri (Manjusri) Bodhisattva said, 'Now, the benefits of this true Dharma are vast and extremely rare. It should be quickly disseminated so that all sentient beings may obtain supreme merit. If one is contemptuous of this sutra, does not accept, uphold, recite, or propagate it for others, then all beings within that country, if they are unable to hear this sutra, the fault of that person is like the five rebellious acts.' Therefore, the Bhiksu (Bhiksu, a Buddhist monk) should have faith and reverence for this Holy Supreme Dharani (Dharani, a type of Buddhist mantra), accept and uphold it, and not forget it. Those who dwell on one side of Mount Sumeru (Sumeru, a sacred mountain in Buddhist cosmology), the Devas (Devas, gods), Asuras (Asuras, demigods or titans), Gandharvas (Gandharva, celestial musicians), etc., I will personally subdue them and enable the beings of Jambudvipa (Jambudvipa, the continent where humans live) to obtain great peace and happiness.
