聞如是：

一時，婆伽婆在舍衛城祇樹給孤獨園。爾時，尊者阿難在閑獨處，便作是念：「乃至貪慾染著皆悉藏貯，貪慾無厭足。」爾時，尊者阿難便從坐起，往至世尊所，到已頭面作禮，便一面坐。爾時，尊者阿難須臾退坐，長跪叉手白世尊言：「向至禪所，便起是念，乃至貪慾染著無厭足。」

爾時，世尊告阿難曰：「如是，如是！阿難！乃至貪慾染著藏貯，實無厭足。所以然者，阿難！曩昔久遠時，有大王名頂生，真法之王，治化人民無有卒暴，七寶具足。所謂七寶者，輪寶、象寶、紺馬寶、珠寶、玉女寶、居士寶、典兵寶，是謂七寶。亦有千子勇悍猛健，顏色暐曄能卻他敵，猶如此世界江河大海，以法治化不加刀杖。爾時，阿難！大王頂生便作是念：『我曾聞，曩昔舊人，壽命極長，聰明黠慧。』便作是語：『然我有是閻浮利地，有力勢神足，谷茂豐熟人民繁稠。』王便生是念：『我欲使雨七寶於我宮中。』爾時，阿難！王頂生作是念已，即七日之中雨七寶。爾時，頂生王復于異時便生是念：『我曾聞，曩昔舊人，壽命極長，聰明黠慧。聞有弗于逮神足自在，谷茂豐熟人民繁稠。我欲往彼治化。』爾時，阿難！王頂生適作是念已，于閻浮利不現，出弗于逮，及四部兵。爾時，弗于逮眾生遙見王頂生來，大眾圍繞各各持銀缽盛滿碎金，或持金缽盛滿碎銀，往至頂生王所，到已白頂生王：『善來！大王！此是大王弗于逮界，神足自在，谷茂豐熟人民繁稠，愿大王於此治化，我等儘是大王所領。』

「爾時，阿難！王頂生於彼治化無數百千歲。是時，阿難！大王頂生，復于異時便作是念：『我有閻浮利地，所欲自在神足，谷茂豐熟人民繁稠。我已雨七寶于宮殿乃至七日，今復有弗于逮境界自在神足，谷茂豐熟人民繁稠。我曾聞，曩昔舊人聰明黠慧，便作是語：「有瞿耶尼國土神足自在，谷茂豐熟人民繁稠。」』王便作是念：『我欲往至瞿耶尼界率化人民。』

「爾時，阿難！王頂生作是念已，便從弗于逮沒，往瞿耶尼界，及四種兵。爾時，瞿耶尼人民遙見王頂生，各以持銀缽盛滿碎金，或持金缽盛滿碎銀，各送往獻往至王頂生所。到已白頂生王言：『善來！大王！此是王瞿耶尼界，谷茂豐熟人民繁稠，唯愿大王，於此瞿耶尼界率化人民，我等儘是大王所領。』爾時，阿難！王頂生於瞿耶尼治化人民，無數百千歲無數萬歲。爾時，阿難！大王頂生復于異時便生是念：『我有閻浮利地，穀食豐熟人民繁稠，雨七寶于宮殿乃至七日；亦有弗于逮界神足自在，穀食豐茂人民繁稠；亦有瞿耶尼界神足自在至人民繁稠。』是時頂生王便作是念：『我曾聞，曩昔舊人聰明黠慧，有作是語：「有郁單曰界，神足自在至人民繁稠。于彼國土，一切人民各無所屬，所欲自在壽命極長，于彼命終盡生天上，食自然粳米，著劫波育衣。」』爾時，頂生王便作是念：『我當於彼治化。』以生此念，爾時，阿難！頂生王于瞿耶尼沒，即往郁單曰界，及四種兵。爾時，頂生王遙見彼國地，皆平正盡紺青色，見彼色已便告諸群臣人民：『卿輩！頗見地平正紺青色不乎？』答曰：『如是

現代漢語譯本： 如是我聞： 一時，佛陀在舍衛城的祇樹給孤獨園。當時，尊者阿難獨自靜處，心中思念：『乃至貪慾的染著，都會被收藏積聚，貪慾永遠沒有滿足的時候。』這時，尊者阿難便從座位起身，前往世尊所在之處，到達後向佛陀頂禮，然後在一旁坐下。過了一會兒，尊者阿難退坐，長跪合掌對世尊說：『我剛才在禪定之處，心中生起這樣的念頭，乃至貪慾的染著，永遠沒有滿足的時候。』 這時，世尊告訴阿難說：『是的，是的！阿難！乃至貪慾的染著都會被收藏積聚，確實沒有滿足的時候。為什麼呢？阿難！在很久很久以前，有一位大王名叫頂生，是真正的以法治國的君王，治理人民沒有暴政，擁有七種寶物。所謂的七寶是：輪寶、象寶、紺馬寶、珠寶、玉女寶、居士寶、典兵寶，這就是七寶。他還擁有一千個勇猛強健的兒子，個個容貌英俊，能夠抵禦外敵，就像這個世界的江河大海一樣，以法治理國家，不用刀槍。當時，阿難！頂生大王心中想：『我曾聽說，以前的人壽命很長，聰明智慧。』於是他說：『我擁有這閻浮提的土地，有力量和神通，穀物茂盛豐收，人民眾多。』大王便生起這樣的念頭：『我想要讓七寶降雨在我的宮殿中。』這時，阿難！頂生大王生起這個念頭后，就在七天之中降下了七寶。這時，頂生王又在其他時候生起這樣的念頭：『我曾聽說，以前的人壽命很長，聰明智慧。聽說有弗于逮，神通自在，穀物茂盛豐收，人民眾多。我想要前往那裡治理國家。』這時，阿難！頂生大王剛生起這個念頭，就從閻浮提消失，出現在弗于逮，以及四部軍隊。當時，弗于逮的眾生遠遠看見頂生王到來，大眾圍繞著他，各自拿著銀缽盛滿碎金，或者拿著金缽盛滿碎銀，前往頂生王所在之處，到達后對頂生王說：『歡迎您，大王！這裡是大王您的弗于逮領地，神通自在，穀物茂盛豐收，人民眾多，希望大王在這裡治理國家，我們都歸大王統領。』 『當時，阿難！頂生王在那裡治理國家無數百千年。這時，阿難！頂生大王，又在其他時候生起這樣的念頭：『我擁有閻浮提的土地，想要什麼就有什麼，神通自在，穀物茂盛豐收，人民眾多。我已經在宮殿中降下七寶，甚至持續了七天，現在又有弗于逮的領地，神通自在，穀物茂盛豐收，人民眾多。我曾聽說，以前的人聰明智慧，他們說：「有瞿耶尼國土，神通自在，穀物茂盛豐收，人民眾多。」』大王便生起這樣的念頭：『我想要前往瞿耶尼的領地，教化人民。』 『這時，阿難！頂生大王生起這個念頭后，就從弗于逮消失，前往瞿耶尼的領地，以及四種軍隊。當時，瞿耶尼的人民遠遠看見頂生王，各自拿著銀缽盛滿碎金，或者拿著金缽盛滿碎銀，送給頂生王。到達后對頂生王說：『歡迎您，大王！這裡是瞿耶尼的領地，穀物茂盛豐收，人民眾多，希望大王在這裡治理瞿耶尼的領地，我們都歸大王統領。』當時，阿難！頂生王在瞿耶尼治理人民，無數百千年，無數萬年。這時，阿難！頂生大王又在其他時候生起這樣的念頭：『我擁有閻浮提的土地，穀物豐收，人民眾多，在宮殿中降下七寶，甚至持續了七天；也有弗于逮的領地，神通自在，穀物豐茂，人民眾多；也有瞿耶尼的領地，神通自在，人民眾多。』這時，頂生王便生起這樣的念頭：『我曾聽說，以前的人聰明智慧，他們說：「有郁單曰的領地，神通自在，人民眾多。在那個國土，所有人民都沒有所屬，想要什麼就有什麼，壽命極長，在那裡去世后都升到天上，吃天然的粳米，穿劫波育的衣服。」』這時，頂生王便生起這樣的念頭：『我應當在那裡治理國家。』生起這個念頭后，當時，阿難！頂生王就從瞿耶尼消失，前往郁單曰的領地，以及四種軍隊。當時，頂生王遠遠看見那個國家的土地，都是平坦的，呈現紺青色，看見這種顏色后，便告訴各位大臣和人民：『你們！有沒有看見土地平坦，呈現紺青色？』他們回答說：『是的』

English version: Thus have I heard: At one time, the Buddha was in the Jeta Grove, Anathapindika's Park, in Sravasti. At that time, the Venerable Ananda was in a secluded place, and he thought to himself: 'Even the defilements of craving are all stored up, and craving is never satisfied.' Then, the Venerable Ananda rose from his seat, went to where the Blessed One was, bowed his head to the ground, and sat down to one side. After a while, the Venerable Ananda retreated from his seat, knelt down, and with his palms together, said to the Blessed One: 'When I was in meditation just now, I had this thought, that even the defilements of craving are never satisfied.' Then, the Blessed One said to Ananda: 'So it is, so it is! Ananda! Even the defilements of craving are stored up, and indeed, there is no satisfaction. Why is that? Ananda! In the distant past, there was a great king named Tops, a true king of Dharma, who ruled his people without violence, and possessed seven treasures. The seven treasures were: the wheel treasure, the elephant treasure, the dark horse treasure, the jewel treasure, the jade maiden treasure, the householder treasure, and the military treasure. He also had a thousand sons, brave and strong, with handsome appearances, who could repel enemies, just like the rivers and oceans of this world, he ruled by Dharma, without weapons. At that time, Ananda! King Tops thought to himself: 'I have heard that people of the past had very long lives and were intelligent and wise.' Then he said: 'I have this Jambudvipa land, with power and supernatural abilities, abundant crops, and a large population.' The king then had this thought: 'I want to make it rain seven treasures in my palace.' Then, Ananda! After King Tops had this thought, he made it rain seven treasures for seven days. Then, King Tops, at another time, had this thought: 'I have heard that people of the past had very long lives and were intelligent and wise. I have heard that there is Purvavideha, with supernatural powers, abundant crops, and a large population. I want to go there and rule.' Then, Ananda! As soon as King Tops had this thought, he disappeared from Jambudvipa and appeared in Purvavideha, along with his four divisions of troops. At that time, the beings of Purvavideha saw King Tops coming from afar, and the crowd surrounded him, each holding silver bowls filled with crushed gold, or gold bowls filled with crushed silver, and went to where King Tops was. When they arrived, they said to King Tops: 'Welcome, Great King! This is your Purvavideha territory, with supernatural powers, abundant crops, and a large population. We wish that you would rule here, and we are all under your command.' 'At that time, Ananda! King Tops ruled there for countless hundreds of thousands of years. Then, Ananda! King Tops, at another time, had this thought: 'I have the land of Jambudvipa, with whatever I desire, supernatural powers, abundant crops, and a large population. I have already made it rain seven treasures in my palace for seven days. Now I also have the territory of Purvavideha, with supernatural powers, abundant crops, and a large population. I have heard that people of the past were intelligent and wise, and they said: 「There is the land of Aparagodaniya, with supernatural powers, abundant crops, and a large population.」' The king then had this thought: 'I want to go to the land of Aparagodaniya and guide the people.' 'Then, Ananda! After King Tops had this thought, he disappeared from Purvavideha and went to the land of Aparagodaniya, along with his four divisions of troops. At that time, the people of Aparagodaniya saw King Tops from afar, and each held silver bowls filled with crushed gold, or gold bowls filled with crushed silver, and sent them to King Tops. When they arrived, they said to King Tops: 'Welcome, Great King! This is the land of Aparagodaniya, with abundant crops and a large population. We wish that you would rule here, and we are all under your command.' At that time, Ananda! King Tops ruled the people of Aparagodaniya for countless hundreds of thousands of years. Then, Ananda! King Tops, at another time, had this thought: 'I have the land of Jambudvipa, with abundant crops and a large population, and I made it rain seven treasures in my palace for seven days. I also have the territory of Purvavideha, with supernatural powers, abundant crops, and a large population. I also have the territory of Aparagodaniya, with supernatural powers and a large population.' At that time, King Tops had this thought: 'I have heard that people of the past were intelligent and wise, and they said: 「There is the land of Uttarakuru, with supernatural powers and a large population. In that land, all people have no possessions, they get whatever they desire, their lives are very long, and when they die, they are all reborn in heaven, eating natural rice and wearing clothes of kalpavriksha.」' Then, King Tops had this thought: 'I should go there and rule.' After having this thought, at that time, Ananda! King Tops disappeared from Aparagodaniya and went to the land of Uttarakuru, along with his four divisions of troops. At that time, King Tops saw from afar that the land of that country was all flat and dark blue. After seeing this color, he said to his ministers and people: 'Have you seen that the land is flat and dark blue?' They replied: 'Yes.'

。大王！』『卿等欲知，此是劫波育衣樹。彼人盡著劫波育衣，卿等亦著劫波育衣。』爾時，大王頂生復更見地淳白色，見已復告群臣：『卿等見此地白不乎？』答曰：『如是。』『此是自然粳米，無皮無莖，不加捶杖亦不揚簸，香順風百由旬、逆風五十由旬，極香極美。彼士人民食此粳米，諸賢亦當食此粳米。』爾時，頂生王遙見地平正皆紺青色，見已告群臣人民言：『汝等見此紺青色不？』對曰：『如是。大王！』『此是四指濡草，極濡如孔雀毛，各各右旋與體無異。郁單曰人皆坐此草，卿等亦當坐此草。』爾時，大王頂生遙見城郭樓櫓埤堄，見已便告群臣人民言：『卿等！見此地平正樓櫓埤堄不？』對曰：『如是。大王！』『此是人民所住舍。』爾時，郁單曰人遙見頂生王來，各以金缽盛銀粟，銀缽盛金粟，白頂生王言：『善來！大王！此是王郁單曰界，神足自在，谷茂豐熟人民熾盛。愿大王于郁單曰治化人民，我等亦當順從王教。』爾時，阿難！頂生王于郁單曰治化人民，無數百歲無數千歲。是時王頂生復于異時便作是念：『我所領境界有閻浮利地，神足自在至人民熾盛，我于彼雨七寶在宮殿乃至七日；我亦有弗于逮界，神足自在至人民熾盛；我亦有瞿耶尼界，神足自在至人民熾盛；我亦有郁單曰界，神足自在至人民熾盛。我曾聞舊人聰明黠慧，作是說曰：「有三十三天，壽命極長顏貌端正，于彼有天名釋提桓因。」我今當往詣彼三十三天，便受五處，天壽、天色、天樂、天神足、天增上，我今欲往至三十三天。』爾時，阿難！頂生王作是念已，于郁單曰，沒便往住三十三天，及四種兵，詣彼善法講堂。爾時，釋提桓因遙見頂生王來，見已便語頂生王曰：『善來！大王！可就此座。』爾時，阿難！頂生王即就座而坐，與釋提桓因同坐，此二王同坐而無有異，顏容姿貌正等無異，唯眼眴異。是時頂生王復于異時便作是念：『我有閻浮利地，神足自在至人民繁稠，于宮殿雨七寶乃至七日；亦有弗于逮界，神足自在至人民繁稠；我亦有瞿耶尼界，神足自在至人民繁稠；我亦有郁單曰界，神足自在至人民繁稠，及此三十三天長壽久處此。』爾時，三十三天集善法講堂，各次第坐。爾時，三十三天便作是念：『此頂生王，是閻浮利地王，以法治化，七寶具足，千子圍繞，於四境界最尊第一，不加刀杖以法治化人民。』爾時，阿難！釋提桓因與頂生王半座使坐，二人同坐光色無異，顏彩容貌皆悉同一，唯眼眴異。

「爾時，阿難！頂生王于彼五欲而自娛樂無有厭足，無數百千歲無數萬歲。爾時，阿難！頂生王復於他時而生是念：『我所領境界，有閻浮利地，神足至人民熾盛，七日之中雨七寶于宮殿上；亦有弗于逮界，神足至人民熾盛；我亦有瞿耶尼界，神足至人民熾盛；我亦有郁單曰界，神足至人民熾盛；復有此三十三天壽命延長顏色暐曄。有此善法講堂，四園具足。云何四？難檀桓園、寶彩園、粗堅園、雜種園，是為四園。有晝度樹、拘毗多羅樹，皆悉茂盛，香順風百由旬、逆風五十由旬，此是三十三天所娛樂處，四月之中五欲自娛。此是善法講堂所皆青琉璃，此是天帝所坐處，百臺圍繞皆七寶成，一一臺有七百閣，一一閣有七七玉女，一一玉女有七七使人，皆是釋提桓因所領。』爾時，阿難！頂生王復生此念：『我今當移釋提桓因，於此三十三天治化諸天
