佛說法印經

西天譯經三藏朝奉大夫試鴻臚卿傳法大師臣施護奉 詔譯

爾時,佛在舍衛國,與苾芻眾俱。是時,佛告苾芻眾言:「汝等當知,有聖法印,我今為汝分別演說。汝等應起清凈知見,諦聽諦受,如善作意,記念思惟。」時,諸苾芻即白佛言:「善哉!世尊!愿為宣說,我等樂聞。」

佛言:「苾芻!空性無所有,無妄想,無所生,無所滅,離諸知見。何以故?空性無處所,無色相,非有想,本無所生,非知見所及,離諸有著。由離著故,攝一切法,住平等見,是真實見。苾芻當知,空性如是,諸法亦然,是名法印。

「複次,諸苾芻!此法印者,即是三解脫門,是諸佛根本法,為諸佛眼,是即諸佛所歸趣故。是故汝等,諦聽諦受,記念思惟,如實觀察。

「複次,苾芻!若有修行者,當往林間,或居樹下諸寂靜處,如實觀察,色是苦,是空,是無常,當生厭離,住平等見。如是觀察受、想、行、識,是苦、是空、是無常,當生厭離,住平等見。諸苾芻!諸蘊本空,由心所生,心法滅已,諸蘊無作

現代漢語譯本 《佛說法印經》

佛陀在舍衛國時,與眾比丘在一起。當時,佛陀告訴比丘們:『你們應當知道,有神聖的法印,我現在為你們分別解說。你們應當生起清凈的知見,仔細聽聞,如理作意,記念思惟。』當時,眾比丘對佛說:『太好了,世尊!我們樂意聽聞,請您為我們宣說。』

佛陀說:『比丘們!空性是無所有的,沒有虛妄的念頭,沒有產生,沒有滅亡,遠離一切知見。為什麼呢?因為空性沒有處所,沒有色相,不是有想,本來就沒有產生,不是知見所能達到的,遠離一切執著。因為遠離執著,所以能攝持一切法,安住于平等的見解,這是真實的見解。比丘們應當知道,空性是這樣的,一切法也是這樣,這叫做法印。』

『再者,比丘們!這個法印,就是三解脫門,是諸佛的根本法,是諸佛的眼睛,是諸佛所歸趣的地方。所以你們應當仔細聽聞,記念思惟,如實觀察。』

『再者,比丘們!如果有修行者,應當前往林間,或者居住在樹下等寂靜之處,如實觀察,色是苦,是空,是無常,應當生起厭離,安住于平等的見解。像這樣觀察受、想、行、識,是苦、是空、是無常,應當生起厭離,安住于平等的見解。比丘們!諸蘊本來是空的,由心所生,心法滅了之後,諸蘊就沒有作用了。』

English version The Sutra of the Buddha's Discourse on the Seal of the Dharma

At one time, the Buddha was in Shravasti, together with a gathering of bhikshus. At that time, the Buddha said to the bhikshus: 'You should know that there is a sacred seal of the Dharma, which I will now explain to you in detail. You should arise with pure understanding, listen carefully, attend to it properly, and remember and contemplate it.' Then, the bhikshus said to the Buddha: 'Excellent, World Honored One! We are eager to hear, please explain it to us.'

The Buddha said: 'Bhikshus! Emptiness is without anything, without deluded thoughts, without arising, without ceasing, and is apart from all views. Why is that? Because emptiness has no place, no form, is not a thought, originally has no arising, is not reached by views, and is apart from all attachments. Because of being apart from attachments, it can encompass all dharmas, abide in equal view, and this is the true view. Bhikshus should know that emptiness is like this, and all dharmas are also like this, this is called the seal of the Dharma.'

'Furthermore, bhikshus! This seal of the Dharma is the three doors of liberation, it is the fundamental Dharma of all Buddhas, it is the eye of all Buddhas, and it is the place where all Buddhas return. Therefore, you should listen carefully, remember and contemplate, and observe truthfully.'

'Furthermore, bhikshus! If there is a practitioner, they should go to the forest, or reside in quiet places such as under trees, and observe truthfully that form is suffering, is empty, is impermanent, and should give rise to aversion and abide in equal view. Observe in this way that feeling, perception, mental formations, and consciousness are suffering, are empty, are impermanent, and should give rise to aversion and abide in equal view. Bhikshus! The aggregates are originally empty, they arise from the mind, and when the mind ceases, the aggregates have no function.'


。如是了知,即正解脫,正解脫已,離諸知見,是名空解脫門。

「複次,住三摩地,觀諸色境,皆悉滅盡,離諸有想,如是聲、香、味、觸、法,亦皆滅盡離諸有想,如是觀察名為無想解脫門。入是解脫門已,即得知見清凈。由是清凈故,即貪瞋癡皆悉滅盡。彼滅盡已,住平等見。住是見者,即離我見及我所見,即了諸見,無所生起,無所依止。

「複次,離我見已,即無見無聞,無覺無知。何以故?由因緣故,而生諸識,即彼因緣,及所生識,皆悉無常,以無常故,識不可得。識蘊既空,無所造作,是名無作解脫門。入是解脫門已,知法究竟,於法無著,證法寂滅。」

佛告諸苾芻:「如是名為聖法印,即是三解脫門。汝諸苾芻,若修學者,即得知見清凈。」

時,諸苾芻,聞是法已,皆大歡喜,頂禮信受

English version: If one understands in this way, that is true liberation. Having achieved true liberation, one is free from all views and opinions; this is called the emptiness liberation gate. English version: 'Furthermore, abiding in samadhi, observing all forms, they are all completely extinguished, free from all thoughts of existence. Likewise, sound, smell, taste, touch, and dharma are also completely extinguished, free from all thoughts of existence. Observing in this way is called the formless liberation gate. Having entered this liberation gate, one attains pure knowledge and vision. Because of this purity, greed, hatred, and delusion are all completely extinguished. When they are extinguished, one abides in equal vision. Abiding in this vision, one is free from the view of self and the view of what belongs to self, thus understanding all views, which neither arise nor depend on anything.' English version: 'Furthermore, having abandoned the view of self, there is no seeing, no hearing, no feeling, and no knowing. Why is this? Because due to conditions, various consciousnesses arise. And those conditions, as well as the consciousnesses that arise, are all impermanent. Because of impermanence, consciousness is unattainable. Since the aggregates of consciousness are empty, there is nothing to create; this is called the non-action liberation gate. Having entered this liberation gate, one understands the ultimate nature of dharma, is no longer attached to dharma, and realizes the quiescence of dharma.' English version: The Buddha told the bhikshus, 'This is called the holy dharma seal, which is the three liberation gates. You bhikshus, if you cultivate these, you will attain pure knowledge and vision.' English version: At that time, the bhikshus, having heard this dharma, were all very joyful, bowed their heads, and accepted it with faith.
