聞如是:
一時,佛在羅閱祇耆阇崛山中,與大比丘眾千二百五十人、菩薩萬人俱。
是時,羅閱祇有大姓豪富家,名申日。申日有子,字栴羅法(漢言月明),有清潔之行,佛譬童男,故言月明。
童男到佛所,前為佛作禮,卻坐一面。佛告月明童男:「菩薩摩訶薩,在家、若作比丘,持法施、飯食施,常以善意迎逆一切人心,奉持食四愿,當發意求佛,疾逮得無上正真道。何等為四愿?第一愿者、愿一切人疾逮善權方便;第二愿者、愿世世與善知識共會;第三愿者、愿以財寶與一切人共;第四愿者、願行二事以法施及飯食,常樂得是行;是為四愿。
「複次,月明童男!菩薩大士,在家若出家,常樂經法施,常以善權迎逆人,意無貪心,正立法中住,奉守禁戒當如法。
「復有一事,月明童男!若比丘疾病窮厄、勤苦當憂,令得安隱給與醫藥,何但醫藥,尚當不惜肌肉,當供養之趣令得愈。
「復有一事,月明童子!菩薩大士,佈施終不中疑。何以故?過去阿僧祇劫復阿僧祇劫都不可計,無央數極廣遠

我聽聞是這樣的:
一時,佛在羅閱祇耆阇崛山中,與大比丘眾一千二百五十人、菩薩一萬人在一起。
當時,羅閱祇有一戶大姓豪富人家,名叫申日。申日有個兒子,字栴羅法(漢譯為月明),有清凈的行為,佛以童男來比喻,所以稱他為月明。
童男來到佛的住所,上前向佛行禮,然後退坐在一旁。佛告訴月明童男:『菩薩摩訶薩,無論是在家還是出家,行持法佈施、飯食佈施,常常以善意迎接一切人,奉行四種願望,應當發願求佛,迅速證得無上正真之道。哪四種願望呢?第一愿是,愿一切人迅速獲得善巧方便;第二愿是,愿世世代代與善知識相遇;第三愿是,愿以財寶與一切人共享;第四愿是,願行持法佈施和飯食佈施這兩種行為,常常樂於這樣做;這就是四種願望。』
『再者,月明童男!菩薩大士,無論是在家還是出家,常常樂於經法佈施,常常以善巧方便迎接他人,心中沒有貪念,安住在正法之中,奉守戒律應當如法。
『還有一件事,月明童男!如果比丘生病、貧困、困苦,應當憂慮,使他們得到安穩,給予醫藥,不僅是醫藥,甚至不應吝惜自己的肌肉,應當盡力供養,使他們痊癒。
『還有一件事,月明童子!菩薩大士,佈施時終不應心生疑惑。為什麼呢?過去無量阿僧祇劫又無量阿僧祇劫,都不可計數,無邊無際極其遙遠。

The Sutra of Bodhisattva Moonlight Spoken by the Buddha, One Scroll
Translated by Layman Zhi Qian of the Yuezhi Kingdom of Southern Wu
Thus have I heard:
At one time, the Buddha was in Mount Gijjhakuta in Rajagriha, together with a great assembly of 1,250 bhikkhus and 10,000 bodhisattvas.
At that time, in Rajagriha, there was a wealthy and influential family named Shenri. Shenri had a son named Chandana Dharma (translated into Chinese as Moonlight), who had pure conduct. The Buddha used the analogy of a young boy, hence the name Moonlight.
The young boy came to where the Buddha was, bowed before the Buddha, and then sat to one side. The Buddha said to the young boy Moonlight: 'Bodhisattva Mahasattvas, whether they are lay or ordained, practice Dharma giving and food giving, always welcome all people with good intentions, uphold the four vows, and should aspire to seek Buddhahood, quickly attaining the unsurpassed, true, and right path. What are the four vows? The first vow is to wish that all people quickly attain skillful means; the second vow is to wish to meet with good teachers in every lifetime; the third vow is to wish to share wealth with all people; the fourth vow is to wish to practice both Dharma giving and food giving, always delighting in this practice; these are the four vows.'
'Furthermore, young boy Moonlight! Bodhisattva Mahasattvas, whether they are lay or ordained, always delight in Dharma giving, always welcome people with skillful means, have no greed in their minds, abide in the right Dharma, and uphold the precepts as they should.
'There is another matter, young boy Moonlight! If bhikkhus are sick, poor, or suffering, you should be concerned, help them find peace, and provide them with medicine. Not only medicine, but you should not even begrudge your own flesh, and should make every effort to provide for them so that they may recover.
'There is another matter, young boy Moonlight! Bodhisattva Mahasattvas should never have doubts when giving. Why? Because countless asamkhya kalpas have passed, and countless asamkhya kalpas again, which are beyond calculation, boundless, and extremely far.'
。爾時,世有佛,名諦念愿無上王如來、無所著、等正覺,示現受身於世間,隨所樂具習行為上尊。
「復有一事,月明童男!爾時,諦念愿無上王如來、至真、等正覺,其日現得等正覺相,便變化作無央數身形,隨所喜樂而開導之,使無數人得須陀洹道、無數人得斯陀含道、無數人得阿那含道、無數人得阿羅漢道、無數人得辟支佛道、無數人生四王天上、無數人生忉利天上、無數人生鹽天上、無數人生兜術天上、無數人生尼摩羅天上、無數人生魔天上、無數人生梵天上、無數人受別發無上正真道意,人人皆當過泥洹大道去。
「爾時,諦念愿無上王如來、無所著、等正覺,於是教授,現身一日,所度盡已,便般泥洹;般泥洹后,其法留止二十億千歲。其數欲盡最後五十歲中,比丘多不復信深經,多喜淺事,經法於是稍稍未盡。
「爾時,閻浮利國有王,名智力,常修行佛三事。何等三事?一者、常護佛深法;二者、受行佛深法;三者、諦信佛深法。
「爾時,世有比丘字浮曇末(漢言至誠意),常行三事
現代漢語譯本:那時,世上有一位佛,名叫諦念愿無上王如來、無所著、等正覺,他示現受生於世間,依照眾生所喜好的方式進行教化,成為至高無上的尊者。 又有一件事,月明童男!那時,諦念愿無上王如來、至真、等正覺,在他證得等正覺的那一天,便變化出無數的身形,依照眾生所喜好的方式來開導他們,使得無數人證得須陀洹道,無數人證得斯陀含道,無數人證得阿那含道,無數人證得阿羅漢道,無數人證得辟支佛道,無數人往生到四王天上,無數人往生到忉利天上,無數人往生到焰摩天上,無數人往生到兜率天上,無數人往生到化樂天上,無數人往生到他化自在天上,無數人往生到梵天上,無數人發起了求證無上正真道的意願,他們都將最終超越涅槃大道。 那時,諦念愿無上王如來、無所著、等正覺,在一天之內教授完所有應該度化的人後,便入涅槃。入涅槃后,他的佛法將留存二十億千年。當這個期限快要結束,最後五十年時,許多比丘不再相信深奧的佛經,反而喜歡淺顯的事物,佛法也因此逐漸衰微。 那時,閻浮提有一個國王,名叫智力,他常常修行佛陀的三件事。是哪三件事呢?第一,常常守護佛陀的深奧佛法;第二,接受並修行佛陀的深奧佛法;第三,真誠地相信佛陀的深奧佛法。 那時,世上有一位比丘,名叫浮曇末(漢譯為至誠意),他常常修行三件事。
English version: At that time, there was a Buddha in the world named Truthful Thought Supreme King Tathagata, the Unattached, the Perfectly Enlightened One. He manifested his birth in the world, and according to what beings delighted in, he practiced as the most honored one. Furthermore, there is another matter, Moon Bright Boy! At that time, Truthful Thought Supreme King Tathagata, the Truly Realized, the Perfectly Enlightened One, on the day he attained Perfect Enlightenment, transformed himself into countless forms, guiding them according to what they delighted in. He caused countless people to attain the path of Srotaapanna, countless people to attain the path of Sakrdagamin, countless people to attain the path of Anagamin, countless people to attain the path of Arhat, countless people to attain the path of Pratyekabuddha, countless people to be born in the Heaven of the Four Kings, countless people to be born in the Heaven of Trayastrimsha, countless people to be born in the Heaven of Yama, countless people to be born in the Heaven of Tushita, countless people to be born in the Heaven of Nirmanarati, countless people to be born in the Heaven of Paranirmitavasavartin, countless people to be born in the Heaven of Brahma, and countless people to receive the intention of the unsurpassed true path. Everyone will eventually pass beyond the great path of Nirvana. At that time, Truthful Thought Supreme King Tathagata, the Unattached, the Perfectly Enlightened One, after teaching all those who were to be saved in one day, entered Nirvana. After entering Nirvana, his Dharma would remain for twenty billion thousand years. When that time was about to end, in the last fifty years, many monks no longer believed in the profound scriptures, but rather liked shallow matters, and the Dharma gradually declined. At that time, there was a king in Jambudvipa named Wisdom Power, who constantly practiced three things of the Buddha. What were these three things? First, he always protected the profound Dharma of the Buddha; second, he received and practiced the profound Dharma of the Buddha; third, he sincerely believed in the profound Dharma of the Buddha. At that time, there was a monk named Futanmo (translated as Sincere Intention), who constantly practiced three things.
。何等為三事?一者、常持是三昧;二者、常護是三昧;三者、常誦是三昧;加有八事:常行慈心、常行哀心、常行悲心、常行護心、常行黠慧心、常行答問心、常行喜踴心、常行第一心,以是便具降九十六種道,悉覽知一一深法不復疑。
「至誠意比丘與智力王有親理,為王所尊敬,國人愛重亦爾。王欲見是比丘,無有厭極;時聽是比丘說經法,無有厭足;時欲禮是比丘,無有厭足。
「時,是比丘髀上生大惡瘡,國中醫藥所不能愈,王愁大悲,即為淚出。時,二萬夫人俱亦皆同時悲念是比丘。於時王臥出,夢中有天人來語王言:『若欲愈是至誠意比丘病者,當得生人肉血飲食之,即愈矣。』王寤,驚悸不樂,念:『是比丘病重,乃須彼藥。法所難得。』敕問臣下:『何從得生人血肉?』
「時,王第一太子,字若羅衛(漢言智止)。智止白王:『王莫悲、莫愁、莫憂,人之血肉,最為賤微,世人所重,道無所違。』王答太子:『善哉,善哉!』太子默然,還入齋室,持刀割髀,取肉及血,持送與比丘。比丘得服之,瘡即除愈,身得安隱。
「王聞比丘已得除愈,大歡喜悅懌不能自勝,意存比丘,不復念太子痛,持是歡喜,各有至心;太子亦自平復,便舉國財寶賜與太子
哪三種事呢?第一,經常保持這種三昧;第二,經常守護這種三昧;第三,經常誦持這種三昧;再加上八件事:經常行慈心、經常行哀心、經常行悲心、經常行護心、經常行黠慧心、經常行答問心、經常行喜悅心、經常行第一心。通過這些,就能具備降伏九十六種外道的智慧,完全瞭解每一種深奧的佛法,不再有疑惑。 至誠意比丘與智力王關係親近,受到國王的尊敬,全國人民也愛戴他。國王想見這位比丘,從不感到厭倦;聽這位比丘講經說法,從不感到滿足;想禮拜這位比丘,也從不感到厭倦。 當時,這位比丘的大腿上生了一個大毒瘡,全國的醫藥都無法治癒,國王為此感到非常悲傷,甚至流下了眼淚。當時,兩萬名夫人也都同時為這位比丘感到悲傷。這時,國王躺下睡覺,夢中有一個天人來告訴國王:『如果想治好至誠意比丘的病,必須用活人的肉和血給他吃,病就會好。』國王醒來后,感到驚恐不安,心想:『這位比丘的病很重,竟然需要這樣的藥。這在法理上是很難得到的。』於是命令臣下:『從哪裡能得到活人的血肉呢?』 當時,國王的第一太子,名叫若羅衛(漢譯為智止)。智止對國王說:『大王不要悲傷、不要憂愁,人的血肉,是最為卑賤的,世人所看重,但對於道來說,並沒有什麼違背。』國王回答太子:『好啊,好啊!』太子默默地回到自己的房間,拿起刀割開自己的大腿,取出肉和血,送給比丘。比丘吃了之後,毒瘡立刻痊癒,身體也恢復了健康。 國王聽說比丘已經痊癒,非常高興,喜悅得無法自持,心裡想著比丘,不再顧念太子的疼痛,帶著這份喜悅,各自都心懷至誠;太子也自己恢復了健康,於是舉全國的財寶賞賜給太子。
What are the three things? First, to constantly maintain this samadhi; second, to constantly protect this samadhi; third, to constantly recite this samadhi; in addition, there are eight things: to constantly practice loving-kindness, to constantly practice compassion, to constantly practice empathy, to constantly practice protection, to constantly practice wisdom, to constantly practice answering questions, to constantly practice joy, and to constantly practice the foremost mind. Through these, one can possess the wisdom to subdue the ninety-six heretical paths, fully understand each profound Dharma, and have no more doubts. The Bhikkhu of Sincere Intention was close to King Wisdom Power, respected by the king, and loved by the people of the country. The king never tired of seeing this Bhikkhu; he never felt satisfied listening to this Bhikkhu preach the Dharma; and he never tired of bowing to this Bhikkhu. At that time, a large malignant sore grew on the thigh of this Bhikkhu, and the medicine of the whole country could not cure it. The king was very sad and even shed tears. At that time, twenty thousand consorts were also saddened by this Bhikkhu. Then, the king lay down to sleep, and in a dream, a deva came and told the king: 'If you want to cure the Bhikkhu of Sincere Intention's illness, you must give him the flesh and blood of a living person to eat, and he will be cured.' The king woke up, feeling alarmed and uneasy, thinking: 'This Bhikkhu's illness is so serious that he needs such medicine. This is difficult to obtain in terms of Dharma.' So he ordered his ministers: 'Where can we get the flesh and blood of a living person?' At that time, the king's first prince, named Rorave (translated into Chinese as Zhi Zhi), said to the king: 'Your Majesty, do not be sad, do not worry, do not be anxious. Human flesh and blood are the most lowly, valued by the world, but for the path, there is no violation.' The king replied to the prince: 'Good, good!' The prince silently returned to his room, took a knife, cut open his thigh, took the flesh and blood, and sent it to the Bhikkhu. After the Bhikkhu ate it, the malignant sore was immediately cured, and his body recovered. When the king heard that the Bhikkhu had been cured, he was overjoyed and could not contain his happiness. He thought of the Bhikkhu and no longer cared about the prince's pain. With this joy, they each had sincere hearts; the prince also recovered on his own, and so the king bestowed the wealth of the entire country upon the prince.
。太子以偈答王曰:
「『與血肉安隱施, 割血肉施與人, 即得愈無復恐, 是供養佛所譽。 德中德最安隱, 未來當作佛者, 斷貪淫去瞋恚, 一切人皆除愈。』」
佛告月明童男:「爾時,至誠意比丘者,提和竭羅佛是;爾時,智力王者,今彌勒菩薩是;時,智止太子,我身是。如來、無所著、等正覺饒益於世間不可計量,積累功德欲度一切故,菩薩大士行皆如是。若善男子、善女人慾求度世苦者,當發無上正真道意,誦習是三昧。」
佛說經已,莫不歡喜,作禮而去
現代漢語譯本:太子用偈語回答國王說: 『將血肉安穩地佈施,割下血肉佈施給他人, 就能痊癒不再恐懼,這是佛所讚譽的供養。 在德行中最為安穩,未來將要成佛的人, 斷除貪慾淫邪,去除嗔恨惱怒,一切人都能得到痊癒。』 佛告訴月明童男:『那時,至誠意比丘就是提和竭羅佛;那時,智力國王就是現在的彌勒菩薩;那時,智止太子就是我的前身。如來、無所著、等正覺對世間的饒益不可估量,積累功德是爲了度化一切眾生,菩薩大士的修行都是如此。如果善男子、善女人想要解脫世間的苦難,應當發起無上正真道的心意,誦習這個三昧。』 佛說完這部經后,大家都非常歡喜,行禮后離去。
English version: The prince replied to the king with a verse: 'Giving flesh and blood in peace, cutting off flesh and blood to give to others, One will be healed and no longer fear, this is the offering praised by the Buddha. Among virtues, the most peaceful, those who will become Buddhas in the future, Cutting off greed and lust, removing anger and hatred, all people can be healed.' The Buddha told the boy Moonbeam: 'At that time, the Bhikkhu of Sincere Intention was the Buddha Dipankara; at that time, King of Intellectual Power was the current Bodhisattva Maitreya; at that time, Prince of Intellectual Restraint was my former self. The Tathagata, the Unattached One, the Perfectly Enlightened One, benefits the world immeasurably, accumulating merit to liberate all beings, and the practice of great Bodhisattvas is all like this. If good men and good women wish to be liberated from the suffering of the world, they should generate the intention for the unsurpassed, true, and right path, and recite this samadhi.' After the Buddha finished speaking this sutra, everyone was very happy, bowed, and departed.
