The Mind of Mahayana
I do not even give rise to a mind of generosity (dana), how much less to a mind of stinginess and greed? I do not even give rise to a mind of upholding precepts (sila), how much less to a mind of violating them? I do not even give rise to a mind of patience (ksanti), how much less to a mind of killing and harming? I do not even give rise to a mind of diligence (virya), how much less to a mind of laziness and indolence? I do not even give rise to a mind of meditation (dhyana), how much less to a mind of distraction and confusion? I do not even give rise to a mind of wisdom (prajna), how much less to a mind of ignorance and delusion? I do not even give rise to a mind of vastness, how much less to a mind of narrowness and selfishness?
