【English Translation】 English version Having repented of all sins committed by the body, I take refuge in and pay homage to the Triple Gem (Triratna). With sincere mind, I exhort all Buddhas in the ten directions who are presently enlightened. I beseech you to turn the Wheel of Dharma (Dharmacakra) to bring peace and happiness to all sentient beings. If all the Buddhas in the ten directions wish to relinquish their lives, I now prostrate myself and entreat you to remain in the world for a long time. Having made this entreaty, I take refuge in and pay homage to the Triple Gem. With sincere mind, I rejoice in all the merits of generosity, the wisdom arising from upholding precepts, practicing meditation, and all good deeds arising from body, speech, and mind. I rejoice in all the merits of past, present, and future practitioners of the Three Vehicles (Triyāna), those who have fully realized the One Vehicle (Ekayāna), and the immeasurable blessings of humans and devas (gods). Having rejoiced, I take refuge in and pay homage to the Triple Gem. With sincere mind, I dedicate all the meritorious deeds I have performed, combining them all together for the sake of liberating sentient beings, and rightly dedicate them to the path of Buddhahood. Sins should be repented in this way, and the merits of exhortation and rejoicing should be dedicated to Bodhi (awakening). Having dedicated, I take refuge in and pay homage to the Triple Gem. With sincere mind, I make the vow that all sentient beings may generate the Bodhicitta (mind of awakening), and constantly contemplate all the Buddhas in the ten directions. Furthermore, I vow that all sentient beings may forever break free from all afflictions and clearly see the Buddha-nature, just like Mañjuśrī (妙德, the Bodhisattva of wisdom). Having made this vow, I take refuge in and pay homage to the Triple Gem.

Tell the sentient beings to listen to the purification verse of the Yin hour (3-5 AM): If you wish to seek the joy of Nirvana (寂滅, liberation), you should learn the Dharma (法, teachings) of the Śrāmaṇa (沙門, renunciates). Clothing and food sustain life, and coarse or fine, follow the assembly. Today, in the purity of the Yin hour, each of you should remember the six recollections: recollection of the Buddha, recollection of the Dharma, recollection of the Sangha (僧, community), recollection of the precepts, recollection of the devas (天, gods), and recollection of generosity. The invocation of the Buddha and Dharma events should follow the above text.

Also, the dusk verse: The sun has already set in the west, but the defilements of the world have not yet been removed. The time of old age, sickness, and death will arrive, and the days of seeing each other will not be long. Each thought urges the years to pass quickly, like a fish in shallow water. I urge all practitioners to cultivate until nothing remains undone.

The midnight impermanence verse: Everyone, observe your own body. Bones, flesh, tendons, and skin appear solid. Earth, water, fire, and wind temporarily form the body. When the four elements disperse, there is originally no master. A bag of stinking flesh becomes a sore, scattering and rotting into ashes and dust.

The late-night impermanence verse: Time flows swiftly, and suddenly it is the beginning of the fifth watch. There is no

English version: Constantly contemplate the approach of death, always dwelling with the King of Death. Exhort all practitioners to diligently cultivate and learn until complete.

The Six Roots Confession: Since countless eons ago, we have been constantly deceived by the six thieves. Dwelling within a single aspect, yet together generating discriminations. The eye root constantly loves forms, the ear distinguishes sounds, the nose is deluded by various fragrances, the tongue craves various flavors, the body constantly enjoys tactile sensations, and the mind wanders everywhere, clinging to conditions. Such an inverted mind is so stubborn, sinking in the sea of birth and death. Having confessed, I take refuge and prostrate to the Three Jewels. May we, from this day forward until we attain Bodhi (Enlightenment), transform the six thieves into aids for achieving the six supernormal powers, transform the three poisons into three liberations, together realize the equality of Suchness, not abandon birth and death but attain Nirvana (Liberation), forever liberate sentient beings in the six realms, and together attain the unsurpassed Buddha Way.

Sincerely Vow: May my eye root constantly see the Buddha, may my ears always hear the voice of the Dharma, may my nose not smell any other fragrance, may my mouth constantly recite Paramita (Perfection), may my body not be defiled by any evil realms, may my mind not cling to conditioned appearances, may my mind be able to remove the thieves of afflictions, may I always reach the city of Nirvana (Liberation). I vow that all sentient beings attain Buddhahood, I vow to universally realize the cause of Nirvana. Having made the vows, I take refuge and prostrate to the Three Jewels. Sentient beings are boundless, I vow to liberate them all; Afflictions are endless, I vow to end them all; Dharma gates are infinite, I vow to learn them all; The unsurpassed Buddha Way, I vow to accomplish it.

Having Heard and Known the Impermanence Gatha: If lustful feelings cannot be stopped, like grass moving, they will be stained by various dusts. Following conditions, one wanders through the six realms, not stopping for even a moment. Knowing the body is like a movie, realizing the world is like floating clouds. Understanding that the mind is originally pure, return the vows and enter the gate of truth.
