如是我聞:

一時,佛在王舍城鷲峰山中,有無數大苾芻眾,復十俱胝童子相菩薩摩訶薩。

爾時,世尊告帝釋天主:「憍尸迦!此般若波羅蜜,其義甚深。非一非異,非相非無相,非取非舍,非增非損,非有煩惱非無煩惱,非舍非不捨,非住非不住,非相應非不相應,非煩惱非不煩惱,非緣非不緣,非實非不實,非法非不法,非有所歸非無所歸,非實際非不實際。

【English Translation】 English version The Buddha Speaks the Heart Sutra of the Prajñāpāramitā for Śakra Translated by the Tripitaka Master Shi Hu, Minister of the Honglu Court, Great Master of Dharma Transmission, under Imperial Decree, from the Western Heaven. Thus have I heard: At one time, the Buddha was in Mount Gṛdhrakūṭa (Vulture Peak) in Rājagṛha (Royal City), with countless great Bhikṣu (monks) and ten koṭi (ten million) Bodhisattva-mahāsattvas (great bodhisattvas) in the form of youths. Then, the World Honored One said to Śakra devānām indra (Lord of the Gods), 『Kauśika (another name for Śakra)! This Prajñāpāramitā (Perfection of Wisdom) is of profound meaning. It is neither one nor different, neither with form nor without form, neither taking nor abandoning, neither increasing nor decreasing, neither with afflictions nor without afflictions, neither relinquishing nor not relinquishing, neither abiding nor not abiding, neither corresponding nor not corresponding, neither afflicted nor not afflicted, neither conditioned nor unconditioned, neither real nor unreal, neither dharma nor non-dharma, neither having a refuge nor having no refuge, neither actual nor not actual.』 『Kauśika! 「複次,憍尸迦!所有十八空。何等十八空?內空、外空、內外空、空空、大空、勝義空、有為空、無為空、無際空、無變異空、無始空、本性空、自相空、無相空、無性空、自性空、無性自性空、一切法空。頌曰:

「如星如燈、翳,  夢、幻及泡、露,  如電亦如雲,  應作如是觀。  我今略說此,  般若波羅蜜,  不生亦不滅,  不斷亦不常,  非一非多義,  非來亦非去,  如是十二緣,  止息令寂靜,  正等正覺說。  恭信最上師,  歸依十方佛,  過現及未來,  三寶波羅蜜。  無量功德海,  供養諸如來,  大明真秘密。

【English Translation】 English version Edge; diamond equality, Prajna Paramita (perfection of wisdom) is also equal; all dharmas are not destroyed, Prajna Paramita is also not destroyed; the nature of all dharmas is unattainable, Prajna Paramita is also unattainable; the nature of all dharmas is equal, Prajna Paramita is also equal; all dharmas are without nature, Prajna Paramita is also without nature; all dharmas are inconceivable, Prajna Paramita is also inconceivable; thus, Dana Paramita (perfection of generosity), Sila Paramita (perfection of morality), Ksanti Paramita (perfection of patience), Virya Paramita (perfection of effort), Dhyana Paramita (perfection of meditation), Upaya Paramita (perfection of skillful means), Pranidhana Paramita (perfection of vows), Bala Paramita (perfection of strength), Jnana Paramita (perfection of wisdom) are also inconceivable; the three karmas of body, speech, and mind are pure, Prajna Paramita is also pure. Such is Prajna Paramita, its meaning is boundless. 『Furthermore, Kausika (Indra)! There are eighteen kinds of emptiness. What are the eighteen kinds of emptiness? Inner emptiness, outer emptiness, inner-outer emptiness, emptiness of emptiness, great emptiness, ultimate emptiness, conditioned emptiness, unconditioned emptiness, boundless emptiness, immutable emptiness, beginningless emptiness, essential emptiness, self-characteristic emptiness, non-characteristic emptiness, natureless emptiness, self-nature emptiness, emptiness of nature and self-nature, emptiness of all dharmas.』 The verse says: 『Like stars, like lamps, like cataracts, like dreams, like illusions, like bubbles, like dew, like lightning, and like clouds, one should contemplate in this way. I now briefly speak of this Prajna Paramita, it is neither born nor does it perish, neither continuous nor permanent, neither one nor many, neither coming nor going, thus the twelve links of dependent origination, ceasing and becoming tranquil, as spoken by the Samyak Sambuddha (Buddha's enlightenment). Respectfully believe in the supreme teacher, take refuge in the Buddhas of the ten directions, past, present, and future, the Paramita of the Three Jewels (Buddha, Dharma, Sangha). 『皈命般若波羅蜜多(prajnaparamita,智慧的完美)!即說咒曰:唵(om) 薩哩嚩(sarva,一切) 尾睹(vitu) 娑嚩(二合、引)賀(引) (svaha,表示成就、圓滿)!』

『皈命般若波羅蜜多(prajnaparamita,智慧的完美)!即說咒曰:誐帝(gate) 誐帝(gate) 波(引)囕誐帝(paramgate) 波(引)啰僧誐帝(parasamgate) 冒地(bodhi,覺悟) 娑嚩(二合、引)賀(引) (svaha,表示成就、圓滿)!』

爾時,世尊說完此經后,帝釋天主(Indra,天神之王)及諸菩薩摩訶薩(bodhisattva-mahasattva,偉大的菩薩)、天、人、乾闥婆(gandharva,天上的樂神)、阿修羅(asura,非天)等一切大眾,聽聞佛所說,皆大歡喜,信受奉行。

佛說帝釋般若波羅蜜多心經

【English Translation】 English version Svaha (svaha, meaning 'hail' or 'so be it')

'Homage to Prajnaparamita (the perfection of wisdom)! Thus it is said: vamvari vamvari maha (great) vamvari duru duru maha (great) duru svaha (hail)!'

'Homage to Prajnaparamita (the perfection of wisdom)! Thus it is said: huti huti huta sani sarva (all) karma (action) varanani (obstacles) svaha (hail)!'

'Homage to Prajnaparamita (the perfection of wisdom)! Thus it is said: om arurika svaha (hail)!'

'Homage to Prajnaparamita (the perfection of wisdom)! Thus it is said: om sarva (all) vitu svaha (hail)!'

'Homage to Prajnaparamita (the perfection of wisdom)! Thus it is said: gate gate paramgate parasamgate bodhi (enlightenment) svaha (hail)!'

At that time, after the World Honored One finished speaking this sutra, Indra (king of the gods), along with all the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas (great bodhisattvas), gods, humans, gandharvas (celestial musicians), asuras (demigods), and all the great assembly, having heard what the Buddha had spoken, were all greatly delighted, believed, accepted, and practiced it.
