般若波羅蜜多心經(燉煌石室本)

國大德三藏法師沙門法成譯

如是我聞:

一時薄伽梵住王舍城鷲峰山中,與大苾芻眾及諸菩薩摩訶薩俱。爾時,世尊等入甚深明瞭三摩地法之異門。復于爾時,觀自在菩薩摩訶薩行深般若波羅蜜多時,觀察照見五蘊體性悉皆是空。

時,具壽舍利子,承佛威力,白聖者觀自在菩薩摩訶薩曰:「若善男子欲修行甚深般若波羅蜜多者,復當云何修學?」作是語已。

觀自在菩薩摩訶薩答具壽舍利子言:「若善男子及善女人,欲修行甚深般若波羅蜜多者,彼應如是觀察,五蘊體性皆空。色即是空,空即是色。色不異空,空不異色。如是受、想、行、識亦復皆空。是故舍利子!一切法空性無相,無生無滅,無垢離垢,無減無增。舍利子!是故爾時空性之中,無色、無受、無想、無行亦無有識。無眼、無耳、無鼻、無舌、無身、無意。無色、無聲、無香、無味、無觸、無法。無眼界乃至無意識界。無無明亦無無明盡,乃至無老死亦無老死盡。無苦、集、滅、道,無智無得亦無不得。是故舍利子!以無所得故,諸菩薩

【現代漢語翻譯】 現代漢語譯本 如是我聞: 一時,薄伽梵(Bhagavan,世尊)住在王舍城(Rājagṛha)的鷲峰山(Gṛdhrakūṭa)中,與眾多大比丘(bhikṣu)和諸位菩薩摩訶薩(bodhisattva-mahāsattva)在一起。那時,世尊進入了甚深明瞭三摩地(samādhi)法的不同門徑。同時,觀自在菩薩摩訶薩(Avalokiteśvara bodhisattva-mahāsattva)在修行甚深般若波羅蜜多(prajñāpāramitā)時,觀察並照見五蘊(skandha)的體性全部是空。 這時,具壽舍利子(Śāriputra),承蒙佛的威神力,對聖者觀自在菩薩摩訶薩說:『如果善男子想要修行甚深般若波羅蜜多,又應當如何修學呢?』說完這些話。 觀自在菩薩摩訶薩回答具壽舍利子說:『如果善男子和善女人想要修行甚深般若波羅蜜多,他們應當這樣觀察,五蘊的體性都是空。色(rūpa)即是空,空即是色。色不異於空,空不異於色。受(vedanā)、想(saṃjñā)、行(saṃskāra)、識(vijñāna)也都是空。所以,舍利子!一切法的空性是無相的,無生無滅,無垢無離垢,無減無增。舍利子!因此,在空性之中,沒有色,沒有受,沒有想,沒有行,也沒有識。沒有眼、耳、鼻、舌、身、意。沒有色、聲、香、味、觸、法。沒有眼界,乃至沒有意識界。沒有無明(avidyā),也沒有無明盡,乃至沒有老死,也沒有老死盡。沒有苦、集、滅、道,沒有智慧,沒有獲得,也沒有不獲得。所以,舍利子!因為沒有所得的緣故,諸菩薩'

【English Translation】 English version Thus have I heard: At one time, the Bhagavan (the Blessed One) was dwelling on Mount Gṛdhrakūṭa (Vulture Peak) in Rājagṛha (Royal Palace City), together with a large assembly of bhikṣus (monks) and many bodhisattva-mahāsattvas (great bodhisattvas). At that time, the Bhagavan entered into the different aspects of the profound and clear samādhi (meditative absorption) of the Dharma. Also at that time, the bodhisattva-mahāsattva Avalokiteśvara (the Bodhisattva who perceives the sounds of the world) while practicing the profound prajñāpāramitā (perfection of wisdom), observed and saw that the nature of the five skandhas (aggregates) are all empty. Then, the venerable Śāriputra (one of the Buddha's chief disciples), empowered by the Buddha』s might, said to the holy bodhisattva-mahāsattva Avalokiteśvara: 『If a good man wishes to practice the profound prajñāpāramitā, how should he train?』 Having spoken thus. The bodhisattva-mahāsattva Avalokiteśvara replied to the venerable Śāriputra: 『If a good man or a good woman wishes to practice the profound prajñāpāramitā, they should observe in this way: the nature of the five skandhas are all empty. Form (rūpa) is emptiness, emptiness is form. Form is not different from emptiness, emptiness is not different from form. Likewise, feeling (vedanā), perception (saṃjñā), mental formations (saṃskāra), and consciousness (vijñāna) are all empty. Therefore, Śāriputra! The emptiness of all dharmas (phenomena) is without characteristics, without arising, without ceasing, without defilement, without separation from defilement, without decrease, without increase. Śāriputra! Therefore, in emptiness, there is no form, no feeling, no perception, no mental formations, and no consciousness. There is no eye, no ear, no nose, no tongue, no body, no mind. There is no form, no sound, no smell, no taste, no touch, no dharma. There is no realm of the eye, up to and including no realm of consciousness. There is no ignorance (avidyā), and no extinction of ignorance, up to and including no old age and death, and no extinction of old age and death. There is no suffering, no origin of suffering, no cessation of suffering, no path to the cessation of suffering, no wisdom, no attainment, and no non-attainment. Therefore, Śāriputra! Because there is no attainment, the bodhisattvas』


眾依止般若波羅蜜多,心無障礙,無有恐怖,超過顛倒,究竟涅槃。三世一切諸佛亦皆依般若波羅蜜多故,證得無上正等菩提。舍利子!是故當知般若波羅蜜多大密咒者,是大明咒,是無上咒,是無等等咒。能除一切諸苦之咒,真實無倒。故知般若波羅蜜多是秘密咒。」

即說般若波羅蜜多咒曰:

「峨帝 峨帝 波啰峨帝 波啰僧峨帝 菩提 莎訶

「舍利子!菩薩摩訶薩應如是修學甚深般若波羅蜜多。」

爾時,世尊從彼定起,告聖者觀自在菩薩摩訶薩曰:「善哉,善哉!善男子!如是,如是!如汝所說。彼當如是修學般若波羅蜜多。一切如來亦當隨喜。」

時薄伽梵說是語已。具壽舍利子,聖者觀自在菩薩摩訶薩,一切世間天、人、阿蘇羅、乾闥婆等,聞佛所說,皆大歡喜,信受奉行。

般若波羅蜜多心經

【現代漢語翻譯】 現代漢語譯本: 眾人依止般若波羅蜜多(智慧的完美),心中沒有障礙,沒有恐懼,超越了顛倒的見解,最終達到涅槃(解脫)。過去、現在、未來三世的一切諸佛,也都是依般若波羅蜜多之故,證得了無上正等菩提(最高的覺悟)。舍利子(佛陀的弟子)!因此應當知道,般若波羅蜜多是大秘密咒,是大光明咒,是無上咒,是無與倫比的咒語。它能去除一切痛苦,是真實不虛的。所以要知道,般若波羅蜜多是秘密咒語。

於是,佛陀宣說了般若波羅蜜多咒語:

『揭諦,揭諦,波羅揭諦,波羅僧揭諦,菩提,娑婆訶』

『舍利子!菩薩摩訶薩(偉大的菩薩)應當這樣修學甚深的般若波羅蜜多。』

這時,世尊(佛陀)從禪定中起身,告訴聖者觀自在菩薩摩訶薩(觀音菩薩)說:『善哉,善哉!善男子!正是這樣,正是這樣!正如你所說。他們應當這樣修學般若波羅蜜多。一切如來(佛陀)也都會隨喜讚歎。』

當時,薄伽梵(佛陀)說完這些話后,具壽舍利子(舍利子尊者),聖者觀自在菩薩摩訶薩,以及一切世間的天人、阿修羅(非天)、乾闥婆(天樂神)等,聽聞佛陀所說,都非常歡喜,信受奉行。

《般若波羅蜜多心經》

【English Translation】 English version: By relying on Prajnaparamita (the perfection of wisdom), their minds are without hindrance, without fear, having transcended distorted views, and ultimately attain Nirvana (liberation). All Buddhas of the three times (past, present, and future) also attain Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi (supreme perfect enlightenment) by relying on Prajnaparamita. Shariputra (a disciple of the Buddha)! Therefore, it should be known that Prajnaparamita is the great secret mantra, the great illuminating mantra, the unsurpassed mantra, the unequaled mantra. It is the mantra that can remove all suffering, and it is true and not false. Therefore, know that Prajnaparamita is a secret mantra.

Then, the Buddha spoke the Prajnaparamita mantra, saying:

'Gate, gate, paragate, parasamgate, bodhi, svaha'

'Shariputra! Bodhisattva Mahasattvas (great Bodhisattvas) should thus study the profound Prajnaparamita.'

At that time, the World Honored One (the Buddha) arose from that samadhi (meditative state) and said to the holy Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva Mahasattva (Guanyin Bodhisattva): 'Excellent, excellent! Good man! It is so, it is so! Just as you have said. They should thus study Prajnaparamita. All Tathagatas (Buddhas) will also rejoice in it.'

At that time, after the Bhagavan (the Buddha) had spoken these words, the venerable Shariputra, the holy Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva Mahasattva, and all the beings of the world, including gods, humans, asuras (demigods), gandharvas (celestial musicians), etc., having heard what the Buddha had said, were all greatly delighted, believed, and practiced accordingly.
