西天譯經三藏朝奉大夫試光祿卿傳法大師賜紫臣施護奉 詔譯
如是我聞:
一時,世尊在王舍城鷲峰山中,與大苾芻眾千二百五十人俱,並諸菩薩摩訶薩眾而共圍繞。
爾時,世尊即入甚深光明宣說正法三摩地。時,觀自在菩薩摩訶薩在佛會中,而此菩薩摩訶薩已能修行甚深般若波羅蜜多,觀見五蘊自性皆空。
爾時,尊者舍利子承佛威神,前白觀自在菩薩摩訶薩言:「若善男子、善女人,於此甚深般若波羅蜜多法門,樂欲修學者,當云何學?」
時,觀自在菩薩摩訶薩告尊者舍利子言:
「汝今諦聽,為汝宣說。若善男子、善女人,樂欲修學此甚深般若波羅蜜多法門者,當觀五蘊自性皆空。何名五蘊自性空耶?所謂即色是空,即空是色;色無異於空,空無異於色。受、想、行、識,亦復如是。
「舍利子!此一切法如是空相,無所生無所滅,無垢染無清凈,無增長無損減。舍利子!是故,空中無色,無受、想、行、識;無眼、耳、鼻、舌、身、意;無色、聲、香、味、觸、法;無眼界無眼識

一時,世尊在王舍城鷲峰山中,與一千二百五十位大比丘眾,以及諸位菩薩摩訶薩(菩薩中的大菩薩)一同圍繞。
當時,世尊進入甚深光明宣說正法三摩地(一種高度集中的禪定狀態)。這時,觀自在菩薩摩訶薩(又名觀音菩薩)在佛的集會中,這位菩薩摩訶薩已經能夠修行甚深般若波羅蜜多(以智慧到達彼岸的修行),觀察到五蘊(構成個體存在的五種要素:色、受、想、行、識)的自性皆是空性。
這時,尊者舍利子(佛陀的十大弟子之一,以智慧著稱)承蒙佛陀的威神力,向前對觀自在菩薩摩訶薩說:『如果善男子、善女人,對於這甚深般若波羅蜜多法門,樂意修習學習的,應當如何學習呢?』
當時,觀自在菩薩摩訶薩告訴尊者舍利子說:
『你現在仔細聽,我為你宣說。如果善男子、善女人,樂意修習學習這甚深般若波羅蜜多法門,應當觀察五蘊的自性皆是空性。什麼叫做五蘊自性空呢?所謂色(物質現象)即是空,空即是色;色不異於空,空不異於色。受(感受)、想(思維)、行(意志)、識(意識),也是如此。
『舍利子!這一切法都是這樣的空相,沒有產生也沒有消滅,沒有污垢也沒有清凈,沒有增長也沒有減少。舍利子!因此,在空性中沒有色,沒有受、想、行、識;沒有眼、耳、鼻、舌、身、意(六根);沒有色、聲、香、味、觸、法(六塵);沒有眼界,也沒有眼識。
【English Translation】 English version The Sutra of the Holy Mother Prajnaparamita Spoken by the Buddha
Translated by Tripitaka Master Shi Hu, Minister of the Court of Imperial Sacrifices, Great Master of Dharma Transmission, and Purple-Robed Minister, by Imperial Decree, from the Western Regions
Thus have I heard:
At one time, the World Honored One was in Mount Gridhrakuta in Rajagriha, together with a great assembly of twelve hundred and fifty Bhikshus (monks), and surrounded by many Bodhisattva Mahasattvas (great Bodhisattvas).
At that time, the World Honored One entered the Samadhi (a state of deep concentration) of profound light, expounding the true Dharma. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Avalokiteshvara (also known as Guan Yin Bodhisattva), who was in the Buddha's assembly, had already cultivated the profound Prajnaparamita (the perfection of wisdom that leads to the other shore), and observed that the five skandhas (the five aggregates that constitute individual existence: form, feeling, perception, mental formations, and consciousness) are all empty in their self-nature.
At that time, the Venerable Shariputra (one of the Buddha's ten great disciples, known for his wisdom), empowered by the Buddha's majestic power, stepped forward and said to the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Avalokiteshvara: 'If good men or good women wish to study and practice this profound Prajnaparamita Dharma, how should they learn?'
Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Avalokiteshvara said to the Venerable Shariputra:
'Now listen carefully, and I will explain it to you. If good men or good women wish to study and practice this profound Prajnaparamita Dharma, they should observe that the self-nature of the five skandhas is all empty. What is meant by the emptiness of the self-nature of the five skandhas? It means that form (material phenomena) is emptiness, and emptiness is form; form is not different from emptiness, and emptiness is not different from form. Feeling, perception, mental formations, and consciousness are also like this.
'Shariputra! All these dharmas are thus empty in nature, without arising and without ceasing, without defilement and without purity, without increase and without decrease. Shariputra! Therefore, in emptiness there is no form, no feeling, perception, mental formations, or consciousness; no eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, or mind (the six sense organs); no form, sound, smell, taste, touch, or dharma (the six sense objects); no eye realm, and no eye consciousness.'
界,乃至無意界無意識界;無無明無無明盡,乃至無老死亦無老死盡;無苦、集、滅、道;無智,無所得,亦無無得。
「舍利子!由是無得故,菩薩摩訶薩依般若波羅蜜多相應行故,心無所著亦無掛礙;以無著無礙故,無有恐怖,遠離一切顛倒妄想,究竟圓寂。所有三世諸佛依此般若波羅蜜多故,得阿耨多羅三藐三菩提。
「是故,應知般若波羅蜜多是廣大明、是無上明、是無等等明,而能息除一切苦惱,是即真實無虛妄法,諸修學者當如是學。我今宣說般若波羅蜜多大明曰:
「怛寧*也他(引)(一句) 唵(引) 誐帝(引) 誐帝(引引)(二) 播(引)啰誐帝(引)(三) 播(引)啰僧誐帝(引)(四) 冒提 莎(引)賀(引)(五)
「舍利子!諸菩薩摩訶薩,若能誦是般若波羅蜜多明句,是即修學甚深般若波羅蜜多。」
爾時,世尊從三摩地安詳而起,贊觀自在菩薩摩訶薩言:「善哉,善哉!善男子!如汝所說,如是,如是!般若波羅蜜多當如是學,是即真實最上究竟,一切如來亦皆隨喜。」
佛說此經已,觀自在菩薩摩訶薩並諸苾芻,乃至世間天、人、阿修羅、乾闥婆等一切大眾,聞佛所說,皆大歡喜,信受奉行。

【現代漢語翻譯】 現代漢語譯本 沒有(六)界,乃至沒有意界和意識界;沒有無明,也沒有無明滅盡,乃至沒有老死,也沒有老死滅盡;沒有苦、集、滅、道(四聖諦);沒有智慧,沒有所得,也沒有無所得。 『舍利子(佛陀的十大弟子之一,以智慧著稱)!因為沒有所得的緣故,菩薩摩訶薩(偉大的菩薩)依般若波羅蜜多(以智慧到達彼岸)相應修行,心中沒有執著也沒有掛礙;因為沒有執著沒有掛礙的緣故,就沒有恐怖,遠離一切顛倒妄想,最終達到圓滿寂靜(涅槃)。所有三世諸佛(過去、現在、未來)都是依靠這般若波羅蜜多,才證得阿耨多羅三藐三菩提(無上正等正覺)。』 『所以,應當知道般若波羅蜜多是廣大的光明、是無上的光明、是無與倫比的光明,能夠息滅一切苦惱,這是真實不虛的法,所有修行的人都應當這樣學習。我現在宣說般若波羅蜜多的大明咒:』 『怛寧*也他(引)(一句) 唵(引) 誐帝(引) 誐帝(引引)(二) 播(引)啰誐帝(引)(三) 播(引)啰僧誐帝(引)(四) 冒提 莎(引)賀(引)(五)』 『舍利子!諸菩薩摩訶薩,如果能夠誦持這般若波羅蜜多的明咒,就是修學甚深般若波羅蜜多。』 這時,世尊從三摩地(禪定)中安詳地起身,讚歎觀自在菩薩摩訶薩(又名觀音菩薩)說:『善哉,善哉!善男子!正如你所說,正是這樣!般若波羅蜜多應當這樣學習,這是真實最上究竟的,一切如來(佛的稱號)也都隨喜讚歎。』 佛說完這部經后,觀自在菩薩摩訶薩以及眾比丘(出家男眾),乃至世間的天人、阿修羅(非天神)、乾闥婆(天上的樂神)等一切大眾,聽聞佛所說,都非常歡喜,信受奉行。 佛說《聖佛母般若波羅蜜多經》
【English Translation】 English version There is no (six) realms, up to and including no realm of mind and no realm of consciousness; no ignorance and no extinction of ignorance, up to and including no old age and death and no extinction of old age and death; no suffering, no origination, no cessation, no path (the Four Noble Truths); no wisdom, no attainment, and no non-attainment. 'Shariputra (one of Buddha's ten great disciples, known for his wisdom)! Because there is no attainment, Bodhisattva Mahasattvas (great Bodhisattvas), relying on the practice of Prajnaparamita (perfection of wisdom), have no attachment and no hindrance in their minds; because there is no attachment and no hindrance, there is no fear, they are free from all inverted and deluded thoughts, and ultimately attain perfect tranquility (Nirvana). All Buddhas of the three times (past, present, and future) attain Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi (supreme perfect enlightenment) by relying on this Prajnaparamita.' 'Therefore, it should be known that Prajnaparamita is vast light, supreme light, and incomparable light, which can extinguish all suffering and afflictions. This is the true and non-illusory Dharma, and all practitioners should learn in this way. Now I proclaim the great mantra of Prajnaparamita:' 'Tadyatha (thus it is) Om Gate Gate Paragate Parasamgate Bodhi Svaha' 'Shariputra! If Bodhisattva Mahasattvas can recite this mantra of Prajnaparamita, they are practicing the profound Prajnaparamita.' At that time, the World Honored One arose peacefully from Samadhi (meditative absorption) and praised Bodhisattva Mahasattva Avalokiteshvara (also known as Guanyin Bodhisattva), saying: 'Excellent, excellent! Good man! Just as you have said, it is so! Prajnaparamita should be learned in this way, it is the true, supreme, and ultimate, and all Tathagatas (title of Buddha) also rejoice and praise it.' After the Buddha finished speaking this sutra, Bodhisattva Mahasattva Avalokiteshvara, along with all the Bhikshus (ordained monks), and all the great assembly including gods, humans, Asuras (demigods), Gandharvas (celestial musicians), and others, upon hearing what the Buddha had said, were all greatly delighted, believed, accepted, and practiced it. The Buddha spoke the 'Holy Mother Prajnaparamita Sutra'.
